I was captured from the very first moment I sat down with this book. Since I am an older reader I wasn’t sure if it was going to be something I would enjoy but here I am on the second day since starting this book and I have blown off all previous plans to sit in my jammies with coffee and this book. Caroline has a gift for making you feel like you are standing right beside the characters and paints a picture of their surroundings so that you feel transplanted into their world.

I was very impressed by this young author's first book. I too am an "older" reader but found the book hard to put down. I loved June's snarky thoughts and her spunk to stand up for what is right. The friendships she forms are totally relatable and real. Her relationship with Randall was touching and made me cry. I also loved June's quirky sense of humor and found my self laughing out loud throughout the book. There were paragraphs I would read over and over because they were so moving and spoke such truth. I am looking forward to Caroline's future endeavors. Big big fan!

This is a great coming of age story. It has some nice twists. As I read it I believe there was a different outcome. Really worth reading!

I am honestly astonished that this book is a first write for this author. June's personality and commentary were very enjoyable. Randall's part in the story was so touching and brought tears to my eyes, but the friendships June makes have touched my heart. I had many laughs throughout this story, but also a lot of heartfelt moments as well. This will be one of those books that I pick up again in the future. I cannot wait to see what Caroline turns out next. Thank you for such a brilliantly written and sentimental story. If you want a great read I highly recommend Synthetic Sanity.
