Gods I am loving this series! So often yuri (and a lot of Japanese romance in general) can be so sexless, obsessed with purity to the point where it becomes difficult to believe that the characters wouldn't give in to their raging hormones and intense desires for one another. It's refreshing to find a series where not only is that not the case, but it's also written from what is clearly a queer woman's perspective (and is integral to the plot at that!) This volume handles Marika coming out to her friends and inducting Aya into her social circle, and also starts to tease some of the BDSM aspects of their relationship that will be expanded on in later books. The girls are written so convincingly that they feel real. Aya especially feels someone that I can relate to so closely it almost feels like we're the same person. The big conflict at the end especially
