‘A Ranch Between Them‘ begins the ‘Sweet Home, Montana‘ series with a romance building between two extremely stubborn people, each who has good reasons for why they’re trying so hard to… for one avoidance, for the other to push boundaries. It’s going to be a long road full of potholes before Brady and Katie find their happy ending… but oh, the trip was so worth it.

Brady is working at the Callahan as ranch manager since the accident that ended his bull riding career, and one that he’s still healing from. Brady has his eye on a nearby property – that ‘one-day’ future that he’s working toward but for now he’s holding down the fort at the ranch that was a safe haven for him in his youth. Since his friend, Nick, is out in California planning his and his young daughters’ return home, and Nick’s grandmother is living and working on a unique Victorian home/business in town it’s just Brady on the ranch… and that suits him just fine. Right up until he lands himself in another accident with an off-road vehicle with no help in sight.

Katie, Nick’s sister, had left the ranch years ago to follow a dream of college, and a career in the big city. Both came true but weren’t exactly what she expected them to be – mainly fulfilling. She’s been let go from that fancy job and has come home to pick up the pieces and figure out exactly what it is that she really wants to do. Brady isn’t aware that she’s on her way, so when she stops along the road leading to the ranch to help him you could have knocked him over with a feather… in a very unwanted way.

Brady and Katie have each had a crush on the other for years now, yet neither has acted upon that attraction for their own reasons. Now, even though they’re each in their own house on the ranch, they certainly are in close contact with each other – especially as Brady is still healing and cannot do everything he believes he can without some help. As Katie begins to figure out her future, and Brady becomes more comfortable with a bit of help when absolutely necessary those feelings begin to deepen… but stubbornness and bad luck circumstances are going to play a large part in their happy ending possibility.

I’ve enjoyed Jeannie Watt’s work for years now. And I’ve come to know that almost every secondary character in her books probably has a large part to play in the overall story… eventually. So I keep my eyes out for what’s going on in the background as well, and I wasn’t disappointed to find more to the story there. I enjoyed ‘A Ranch Between Them‘ so much. There is attraction, yes, but there is also stubbornness, pride, fear, and putting someone else before themselves at play as well. Katie and Brady will work well together for several reasons but they have to come to that conclusion on their own, sometimes the hard way.

Watching them work their way to each other was an emotional, laugh-filled, angsty experience that kept me flipping pages and completely enjoying myself in this world. I’ll definitely be following the series (I’m catching up actually) and cannot wait to dive into ‘Montana Dad‘ next. If you’re in the mood for a really good love story that will touch your heart, have you shaking your head, and rooting for two stubborn people to just trust their instincts – then ‘A Ranch Between Them’ is perfect for you.

I own a Kindle edition of this title.

You know those moments when you just want a contemporary romance without all the spicy heat? Neither are you looking for mystery or thrills. When you’re only looking for sweet and clean? Jeannie Watt delivers that in this story. There wasn’t a lot of fuss or mess, just a good old romance.

Brady and Katie were a great couple that had been in love with each other for y,but he was her brother's best friend. That's only complication. Very interesting to watch them work it out.

This is the first in the Sweet Home, Montana series and has promise as both a great setting and lots of interesting and fun characters. Former rodeo star Brady O'Neil is here working as a ranch manager while healing from a near-death fall from a bucking bull. When he ends up tipping a four-wheeler and landing partially under it, who should happen by the scene of his latest injury than Katie Callahan, his best friend's little sister.

She's always had a crush on this good-looking cowboy, but he's unaware. About as unaware as she is that he's lost his heart to her years earlier but dared not act on it. Not that Nick, Katie's brother, hasn't figured it out. Katie's back to stay at her grandmother's ranch after she's pink-slipped from her big city job. Neither is all that thrilled that the other is now around and hard to ignore.

Katie needs to find out what she wants to do with her life, hopefully picking what she is passionate about and really wants to do. Brady plans to buy a nearby piece of property and dig himself out of the financial hole he's found himself in. Until that happens, no way is he going to ask Katie to join him, but then the agent who was keeping his funds safe takes off with those funds. No more land purchase means Brady has no future. Again. What to do? Why, find a job that takes him away from Sweet Home. But when he heads out, a bunny stops him and he turns around, only to be met by Katie, whose ice cream pity party was joined by her grandmother's best friend. You'll have to read for yourself to figure out what that means.

“A Ranch Between Them” is book one of Jeannie Watt’s Sweet Home, Montana series and features Brady O’Neil and Katie Callahan.

Brady returns to the Callahan ranch, a place where he spent a lot of time while growing up, to heal from rodeo injuries and to determine his future. And, at the moment, that is not to fall for Katie Callahan again.
Katie returns home after being laid off from her job in the city and, like Brady, has to decide what she wants to do next. However, according to Brady, it is not to rescue him. But Katie is a born rescuer and her feelings for Brady over the years haven’t faded.

Ms. Watt has the ability to draw you into the lives of Brady, Katie, and the Callahan family.
Her writing makes you feel like you are the one living the ranch life.

Whenever I read a book by Ms. Watt, I have expectations of a great story with wonderful characters. She surpasses my expectations every single time.
If you haven’t read a book by Jeannie Watt, you really should.

This is the first book I've read by this author, and it was good! It had a few words in it that I don't like to find in books I normally read, but since it's not Christian, I'm not counting them against the book! It took me a bit to get into the book; however, it was a good read! I did enjoy Brady and Katie's story, and would like to find out what happens with Rosalie and Gloria's store, how Katie's new endeavor turns out, and what happens since Nick and his daughters of returned home! Overall, a good read!!

I won a copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.

I really enjoyed this story. For this deals with a issue that many people deal with. Brady O'Neil has felt like he was not good enough by his parent. I love that she uses Katie Callahan who has had a crush forever. The story gives you a glimpse at the issues that come in families. Its got a great storyline from start to finish. It also has some interesting things going on with grandma Rosaline. I'm hoping that it will continue. I can't wait to see how the rest of the family fares. Love sneaks up on the characters in this story which makes it a great read. I'm hoping the brother is next. J

First book in the series SWEET HOME, MONTANA. It is a sweet clean romance with two very likeable characters, even though at times they both needed a good shake. There's plenty of drama and angst to hold your interest as we inch toward the HEA.
