Breaking The Bad Boy

Rate this book
Ashley Martin has been through more grief than a person experiences in their entire life and carries baggage that no kid should ever entail. Tyler Miller is the school's scandalous bad boy who acts on impulse, blinded rage and will single-handedly destroy anybody who stands in his way.

Then all of a sudden, they're thrown together and despite their destructive past, they're forced to overcome their differences. It's time for Ashley to stop running away from his death glares, blank stares and that spine-chilling scowl that reminds her just how little he cares.

Driven by a whirlwind of secrets, a class assignment and midnight walks into the past, things should start working out. But then fate kicks in; hard-hitting and soul-crushing. It's a fight-or-flight situation, a reincarnation of her past, a chance for him to right the wrongs he did by her.

A second chance is like giving someone an extra bullet for their gun after they missed you the first time round. So here's Tyler's gun. Here's Ashley's heart. And here's to their second chance, however hopeless it may seem.

This book..... I-I don't have any words to express how I feel after reading it...It was just phenomenal. Really. Like it will keep you hooked on it until you have to rip it off your hand! Literally.

The characters, the plot, the humour, the development... everything was just marvellous. Exceptional. Perfect. You name it.

So basically the story revolves around Ashley, who lost the closest people to her and was still striving to survive. Add to it, the hot-headed, angry, always glaring boy- Tyler. She is supposed to make him work for an assignment. They have a longer history than you can think. Now-Tyler is like the polar opposite of the Then one. Shit went, he lost his twin, he lost himself. But Ashley is not taking this. So...well you gotta read to find out their adventures and believe me, you'll love it more as you proceed.

Piece of advice- Read this book till atleast 25 chapters before judging. Also, don't judge it by it's name. I know it sounds too cliché and all, but it's nothing like it. Trust me, when you read it, you'll love it a lot more and it would be impossible for you to keep it down.

Now more about the book...This book is the kind which explores your inner self emotionally. You learn about things you weren't capable of learning. You learn about the bigger dimensions of life. You face reality. You learn about life. Life is in living now. Treasuring the best moments of your life, so you can live them forever. It teaches you to not to hold onto grief, to let go. I won't go anymore into it, but this book will change your view of things, of life.

Now talking about the characters...First of all we have Ashley (duh). She is like the strongest girl to set foot on Wattpad. She has gone through a lot. But still persists. She is sarcastic, funny, caring and persuasive. She's the kind who could lay her life to save someone she loves. Literally. She took all of Tyler's shit in the beginning and changed him for good. You'll see.

Now comes Tyler. In the beginning you'll hate him but then you'll grow to love him even more. He is like the CUTEST. THING. EVER. Seriously. I won't go too much into his character, 'cause spoilers...you know. But to words for him - Character Development.(more like re-establishment)

Back to the story now. Seeing from the descriptions and all, you'll probably think that it's all about sadness. But no! It has enough humour and mischief to make you roll on floor laughing. You'll cry and laugh and cry some more. It will bring out all the emotions from you and you'll keep yearning for more. Good thing, the book is not short or I would've died wanting for more. The fact that it deals with reality and not takes you in an eutopian world makes it even better.

Heads up to the author for producing such a masterpiece!

Now, well it's the end of my review, so don't waste time and go read it! You'll love it, that's for sure and no need to thank me for recommending it ;)

One of the rare piece of art in Wattpad. I can't express my love for this book even through I've read this book a lot of times. I love everything about this book. The characters, plot, writing everything. The writing is so precious than the plot itself, and I just love this book.

You know... I don’t know what else to say other than that this book is exceptionally phenomenal. Believe me when I say it will inevitably bring out tears, no matter how stubborn or heartless you think you are. It’s so well written, I felt like I was there myself, living and being apart of their lives. This was undoubtedly an epic read.

Long story short - It will change your life. Things won’t be the same after you finish this book.

I’d definitely recommend it, that’s for sure. It’s extremely long (considering I read constantly and it still took me four whole days to finish it). I’m sure it would probably make 1200-1400 pages in a real life book, if not more. Either way, I think it would still suit a lot of people. It always kept me sucked in. Just when I started to get bored, something major happened and suddenly my interest was peaked once again.

It was hilarious, uplifting and heartwarming, as well as romantic, devastatingly tragic and sarcastic. It will break your heart, wrap itself around your soul and make you feel like you’re on cloud nine. It will simply make you FEEL.

I praise you Kaddy for being able to bring out these kind of emotions in us readers. Especially from someone like myself, considering how cold and unfazed I usually am when it comes down to reading. Such an important book, one I won’t soon forget.

10/10

It took me a month to finish read this book. Yeah, that long. But it doesn't mean it's a bad story or anything like that. For me, it's actually a beautifully written story. It has so many emotions inside for a book/story. Sometimes I found my self laughing or smiling like an idiot because of those two idiotic couples - Jake and Mona. Or I got my self sobbing badly because of Ash and Ty struggling life to keep to not getting broke even worse. You've got my feeling up and down coz of these people, and I love them, I love your kids, Kaddy. I've learnt so many things from them, really. Thank you for that. Such a good work you do. Congrats. Keep do your best on making wonderful characters, they don't need to be beautiful or handsome, rich or super genius. They just need to be awesome and wonderful as human being, just like these four teenagers you had. Cheers!

This was actually such a great read on Wattpad. This was a slow-burn romance for sure. It's slow in the beginning, but starts to pick up toward the middle of the book. The characters were well-developed and the author was able to emotionally connect readers to them in such a great way! If you were looking for a spicy romance book, this isn't it. Like someone mentioned in the reviews, this story was more centered around grief and healing with romance added in. The plot is well developed and interesting -- it drew me in right away. This book made me so emotionally invested; even when I was bored at times I still had to continue reading. This book gives you a beautiful perspective on the different stages of grief and how love and friendship blossoms from it all. The only downside to this book is that I felt it would drag at times. The author uses a lot of descriptions and metaphors that I felt would take away from the story at times. It's a long read for sure, but I think it's worth it. One of the best reads on wattpad in my opinion.

What a beautiful story! It is quite well written and the plot is actually fantastic. The two main love interests are so perfect, sweet and just the best to read about. I loved following Ashley’s road to recovery and seeing Tyler’s character development. I also appreciated the bit of a slow burn, you don’t get anything until chapter 40 suckers.

The ending (after the huge plot twist cliffhanger) is so perfect. Taylor’s letter actually made me cry and for all the right reasons. This book had levels of depth and really conveyed the grieving experience well.

I really liked this story a lot. It teaches you that it's okey no to be fine all the time. It also has a beautiful romance story between the characters. I really like how you can see how they both changed at the end and how their relationship grew.
