In The Family that Merci Restored, we revisit the Alexanders to see how life has treated them. Three years ago, Merci realized she’d been a part of something much bigger than she ever could have imagined. Sure, every family has their secrets, hidden truths and ties but Merci had no idea she’d been born into the family that lies ... without caring who it hurts! Now, years later and still picking the broken pieces of her life, Merci finds herself in the midst of grief while raising two babies and being newly married. All while Melvin is still raising hell! In this special edition of The Family that Lies, there will be questions answered and new drama but I have to warn you ... there will also be tragedy, hurt and of course LIES!
Lakisha Johnson, native Memphian and author of over ten titles was born to write. She’ll tell you that “Writing didn’t find me, it’s was engraved in my spirit when I was created.” Along with being an author, she is an ordained minister, co-pastor, wife, mother and the product of a large family.
She is an avid blogger at kishasdailydevotional.com and social media poster where she utilizes her gifts to encourage others to tap into their God given talents. She won’t claim to be the best at what she does nor does she have all the answers, she is simply grateful to be used by God
I enjoyed this followup to the Family that Lies. Merci really had to deal with a lot and she handled it well and came out victorious. Melvin was a trip. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
Tragedy has struck and the family is turned upside down. Secrets are revealed and the million dollar question is finally answered…"Why the Pastor hate his daughter so much?"
Once again, forgiveness was the theme throughout this book. Without it, Merci could not have moved on fire herself and for her family. One she gave it to God, He resored it all.
My thoughts on the characters have not changed. I still love Thomas (for obvious reasons) and detest Melvin, who appeared to sink to an all time low in this book. I had no sympathy for him at the end.
I highly recommend that you check out this series by @kishajohnson.
Miss Merci is the truth! The strength, power, courage and faith that she was able to maintain throughout her life was amazing! I love her relationship with Thomas and his parents. ❤ They were just what she needed see her through her rough patches, and to love on her when she needed that as well. Melvin! What is we gone do? Who filled this man's head, and ego up, to the point where he no longer had a moral compass? He was ruthless, mean, dirty and just a no good man! So glad that Merci put him in his place, and got her peace back. Enjoyed the conclusion! 👍👍👍
Lakisha Johnson has done it again. I was so excited to get this new book. Merci is my jew favorite character. Hood but spiritual. So much was thrown at her and yet she did not falter. She went through so much in the book but not once did she let it get her down. She may have had some why me God miments but she's his child. She put on her big girl panties and handled it. This was another great book and I look forward to reading more books.
The story was good in itself, but I felt cheated that I couldn't remember all the details from the prior book, having read it nearly 3 years ago. So I rated this based on itself, that the author depicted life a process of forgiveness, letting go of the past and freeing the soul. I can always count on Ms Johnson to provide something uplifting and motivating to make me look at myself and apply these lessons.
As the saying goes, "A leopard don't change its stripes." When hatred runs deep, the only thing you can do its nice it it its way. To blame a child for the actions it their parents is reprehensible and God does not agree with this. The shepherd is supposed to guide the sheep not destroy it. This short series shows just how dysfunctional a family can get.
Fake A** Pastor Melvin Alexander Was Quite A Mess If You Ever Seen/Heard About. I Knew Thomas & Merci Was Going To Be Great Parents..... I Loved How Merci Took Power Back From Melvin Couldnt NO Longer Be A Problem In Her Life, I LOVE The Way Thomas Prays For Him Wife (that's a BEAUTIFUL thing 🙏🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾) This Series Opened My Eyes More Clearer About My Dysfunctional Family And Their Lies💯🎯💯 GREAT READ 💯🎯💯
Good read....I love the fact that Merci was able to forgive and that she had Thomas and his parents to give her the love she missed out on as a teen. I hate she was not able to make amends with her mom before she passed. I would recommend this book. It's so sad that Melvin was a "pastor" but was not living the life. I pray he repents.
I am happy the author decided to give an update on Merci life after the death of her sister, raising her daughter and becoming a wife. The turn of events were not expected. I would read this book very slowly because I didn’t want it to end. Definitely was not disappointed.
I love reading this authors work. She always tell a good story. I enjoy Christian fiction because so much is true in the real world. Keep writing Kenosha and I will keep reading. Pastor Melvin was too much, maybe he needs another book about him an his life with his bad self. Just a thought..
I've read A Family that Lies. It took me a day. It was no surprise that I read this novel in a day as well. As someone who grew up in the church & have seen the liars & the fakers, I love this series. Despite all this author respect The Most High God. I'm so obsessed with Merci. This is my 2nd book by this author. My God, I love her.
I love this story it's a continuation of the family that lies Merci saved Grayce. I am not going to rewrite this story, all I can say it was dramatic. Make you laugh, cry and saying those prayers real loud. Pastor Melvin is no man of the cloth he need Jesus. Enjoy reading. Thank you for the good read Lakiska Johnson.
Great book. I gave this book 5 stars, even though it has PROFANITY and explicit sexual scenes, the storyline was awesome! Watching the pain, and suffering that Merci went through, and then the Grace of God showing up in her life was worth shouting about. Praise God for His Grace and Mercy!
Pretty good series, but so depressing . It's hard to relate to the evil in this series. It is teaching forgiven others to free you soul. Everyone had the ability to move forward and find some sort of peace. HOWEVER....Melvin and Marie are pure evil. I wanted more of a downfall for their misdeeds.
Great read! I couldn't put it down!! Just to be able to see the relationship between the 2 sisters restored in the first book was amazing. Heart breaking 💔unfortunately that the mother and daughter could not have a relationship restored before was sad though but I was glad that Merci was restored inspite of what she went through
Wow! I loved the first book and adored this finale! Merci went through it with her mom and Melvin! Melvin was satan for sure! So glad Merci had her husband, his parents and her children...cuz dang her family was jacked up! I felt bad for her mom but even she didn’t deserve the hatefulness Melvin sprouted daily☹️She sought God and found peace!
Merci's ability to deal with Melvin told a lot about her character. This was a good book on forgiveness. It was good she had Thomas on her side for her parents were not the support system she needed. Good follow-up with all questions answered. Nicely written story
MERCI WAS TRULY RESTORED AND THOMAS IS STILL THE MAN HE TAKE HIS ROLL SERIOUSLY AS A HUSBAND, PROTECTOR & DAD.. I JUST LOVE HOW HIS PARENTS IS HANDS ON AND ALWAYS A CALL AWAY ... THIS IS PROOF WHEN YOU ARE SENT THE ONE THAT WILL LOVE YOU PAST THE PAIN HOW GREAT THINGS WILL BE...
Yes Melvin is a whole mess and calls himself a man if God well he will get his on the day of Judgement. Merci prevailed and I am so glad you allowed Thomas into her life to love her unconditionally
Merci really had to go through a lot in life. That damn Melvin suppose to be poo pastor was the damn devil spawn, make no damn cents. I happy Merci got restored and gave Warran her dad a chance...again wow!!
Very good Read. Only 4 starts because the author really is in need of a good editor. To many spelling, punctuation, and wrong words used. For instance, the word "bought" was used when in actuality, the word "brought" should have been used.
We all have family issues, but like everything in life we can’t control people and there action only how we respond. If we fall back God will fight out battles and regardless of the outcome WE WIN!
The Family that Lies: Merci Restored is an awesome follow up to the The Family that Lies story. Merci was able to gain so much emotionally, spiritually and financially in part two of this sequel. Readers will not be left disappointed with this read.
I love this series. The things that God prepares for us and we don’t even know it. Merci was truly the Good girl and Gracey was the one lost. But the Daddy was a piece of work and he was a Bishop
I want to say thank you for shedding light on everything in Merci’s life because I was like no ending to her n her father. I hate her mom died but at least she got to get a relationship with her dad. Melvin is truly a piece of work to say he is a man of God.
Amazing, my emotions were all over the place. Thank you for 2 great books. It’s amazing how with just a little faith and trust in God can open doors and show us what is ahead. Thank you again. I really enjoyed these books.
Loved Merci restored as much as book#1. Happy that Warren was able to get to know and have a relationship with Merci. Have enjoyed reading this series.
I really enjoyed this series I just object if this is a Christian book why the cursing I don't like that the Author did a great job had grammar errors and the cursing issues but over all great series
I truly enjoyed the fact that Merci, with her faith in God, found closure with honesty from all who had lied and abused her mentally and soulfully. Losing the women in her life that lived her deeply foreshadowed the woman she would become.
This book explores the journey of forgiveness, letting go and being restored. It is all possible when you put in the work! Merci lost a father and gained one thru death!
