Mandy goes on five blind dates and, much to her surprise, her dates are perfect. Too perfect maybe?
Mandy loves her life and doesn’t think that finding her soul mate is essential to her happiness. Her friends, however, are of a different opinion, and she has had more than enough of their innumerable attempts to find her the perfect man. When they promise to stop annoying her if she agrees to meet five men they choose, she gives in. She’s convinced she can prove to them that blind dates aren’t the best way to find your soul mate, and she’s counting on the public following her adventures on a blog to stand behind her.
Going from surprise to surprise, Mandy is carried away in a whirlwind of new encounters. However, she soon realizes she won’t be yet another romantic comedy heroine, forced to endure catastrophic dates. Her suitors are perfect … too perfect maybe? Not only that but whenever the public weighs in she gets even more confused and therefore incapable of deciphering what her heart really wants. Sometimes perfection is far from being what someone’s really looking for in life.
EXCERPT 1
“Do you feel the electricity between us, too?” he asks with an air of wonder. “What? What electricity? I don’t feel anything at all,” I retort, annoyed. Is he making fun of me? “Too bad. I was hoping you would. I know that in order to give a man a real chance, you need to feel sparks fly around. You can deny it all you want, but you are the most romantic woman in existence.” The waiter comes to deliver our order, and I take advantage of the opportunity to finally pull my hand away. Once the waiter departs, I lean back and cross my arms. “No, I’m not,” I respond to Ryan’s last statement. “Should I remind you of what you told me about Kylie and Adam?” “Their love story is unique.” “Every love story is different and unique, and I promise you ours will be too,” he says with a wink. “All right, smarty pants. I see that I can’t get rid of you easily, so I’ll have to be more cunning. You want to play with me, let’s play. I promise you I’ll eliminate you from the game sooner or later.”
EXCERPT 2
“If your life is as perfect as you pretend, how would I be able to disturb it?” “Don’t play this game with me. You know what I’m talking about.” “Actually, no I don’t. I think you’re just annoyed because you can’t stand the idea of having feelings for me. You can’t stand the idea that I may be right; that there may be something more than friendship between us.” “Might I remind you we have an appointment with Natalie this evening, and if I’m not mistaken, it was I who invited her.” Which I regret bitterly, but it’s not any time soon that I’ll admit it to you. “You did it because you wanted to prove to yourself that you weren’t jealous. The only problem is that you are.” “You are ...” I’m at loss for words. “You are impossible!”
"LET'S FALL IN LOVE" IS A SERIES - HOWEVER EACH BOOK CAN BE READ AS A STANDALONE NOVEL
As always, I love picking up any book by Mary Kelly Reed because she knows how to put her own magical romantic twist on her romantic comedy books and each time she has me wanting more and more from her. She writes some amazing characters and you can’t help but feel like you’re actually with them when reading her books and that’s what I love about them. The plots are always pretty simple but they work out pretty well, but whilst they’re simple sometimes that’s all you need when writing a book and Mary always manages to create such master pieces. This time round you got to experience the story from Mandy’s point of view, you met her back in Kylie’s story (Romantic… Differences) and it was interesting seeing things from her point of view, plus what made it even amazing is that Mary brought back other characters from previous books and honestly, I love it when she does that because if you’ve already fallen in love with a character before you can’t help but wish to see how things develop for them after their story is over… And Mary is an expert at that. Honestly, her books are well worth the read and you seriously need to take a look at them because they are pretty magical.
Mandy is smart, charming and funny, has the perfect job, is single and LOVING life…. Well, she is on the outside but on the inside is a whole other story… that’s what her friends think. But Mandy is determined to prove them wrong, she believes that she can be happy in life without having her soulmate around. However, her friends get other ideas and decide to challenge her. 5 dates which somehow ended up transforming into 15 with 5 different guys. It all sounds so simple, but in reality, life is about to throw her some curveballs. What will happen when secrets are revealed and the one person who she expected to not join in with the charades takes the game to a whole new level?
I wasn't sure how well I'd like this book because I wasn't that crazy about Mandy in "Romantic... Differences". Though she could be amusing, she's the kind of blunt person who doesn't generally worry about being diplomatic or if she hurts people's feelings.
And at the beginning of the story, I still didn't like her much, but the premise of this story was interesting - Mary Kelly Reed is good at coming up with fairly original variations on popular romance tropes. I loved the novelty that initially all the guys were dream dates, & Mandy didn't reject them because of some overused plot device like they were secret disasters, but they were good guys who just weren't right for her.
Once the author began to reveal the reasons for Mandy's conflicted relationship with Ryan, her character became so much more sympathetic. I'm not sure I was on board with her upset that he had risked losing her, but I definitely could understand her confused feelings about it. I also liked that Ryan finally got mad at Mandy - she had earned it & it made him more human.
The happily-ever-after was a bit more fairytale fantasy than reality, but it was fun anyway & I really enjoyed this book.
Clean romance level: passionate kissing, secular attitudes on sex outside of marriage and the main characters have sex but no graphic details are given
I remember liking Mandy in the previous book and being intrigued by the sparks between her and Ryan. This book pushed me to the limit to keep liking Mandy. The story does a brilliant job of explaining all her motivations and providing background for her neurotic behavior. There were still times I was hard pressed to sympathize with her, though. One thing I can definitely say is that this author is highly skilled at creating complex, frustrating characters that make me want to reach into the page and shake some sense into them. Ryan didn’t spark as much of that reaction in me, but that might only be because I couldn’t see the chaos swirling in his thoughts. I believe that he’ll be an excellent partner for Mandy. He’s willing to put her at the center of his universe, yet he’s not afraid to push against her when he thinks she’s mistaken. The author also has a talent for giving us challenging heroes who are romantic in unconventional ways. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.
This is my first book by this author and it was an enjoyable story. Mandy is tired of her friends always trying to set her up with dates! Enough is enough. They have come to a mutual agreement for them all. IF she goes on 15 dates with 5 guys (3 with each one) they promise to leave her alone 😍 BUT they get to choose the guys. She becomes extremely concerned when one of them is Ryan, her bestie. She doesn't want to ruin the friendship that they have by dating him!!! So the story goes --- a very fun read with a "relatively clean" romance that promises to leave you smiling. An enjoyable story I would recommend. I received an ARC copy of this book. This is my voluntary honest review with my personal thoughts and opinions. Vicki from Wyoming
An amazingly wonderful well written fourth standalone installment in the Meant to .. Date series. This fun, flirty, sweet romance was a great romantic friend to lovers comedy. Mandy agrees to 15 dates with 5 different guys of her friends choosing for them to leave her alone and stop ptessuring her to find someone. The characters were funny, complex, and interesting with cameos from previous characters. The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book, while providing background, motivations and erotic behavior. I honestly and voluntarily reviewed this ARC.
In Meant To ... Date Mandy's well meaning friends persuade her to submit to 15 dates with 5 men the friends will select. If she goes on these dates and does not find her soulmate the friends will quit trying to set her up. Sure these first dates will be disasters, Mandy is very pleasantly surprised to find herself looking forward to all the second dates. Come along on this great trip with five interesting suitors. Which one will be her soulmate? This book is a fun read when you need an escape. I recommend it.
Ryan and Mandy are a good couple. Things about each that are nuts, but they work well together. I liked the date "dare" situation with her friends. Statistically, not likely that all of the guys would have been equally gorgeous and all that... but that is ok, it is a book. All of the guys are always good looking in books, right?
The premise was fun and the story entertaining.

This is a lazy weekend read, the kind you want to curl up with a blanket, a coffee, and a kitten. It’s a feel-good, easy read that has a HEA and a fun premise. 15 dates with 5 guys, chosen by her friends – this is all that stands between Mandy and her friends stopping nagging her. Sounds easy, and it is, except that, while the dates aren’t awful, they’re not necessarily with her soulmate. It’s not a new trope, I know, but well… I was happy at the end of this book!
As usual, an amazing book by a stupendously great author. A cute romantic comedy, which will leave you wondering when are you going to get another book to read for Ms. Reed.
This author never fails to give a book that touches you to the core of your being. Loved it!!!

It took me a bit longer to get into this story but it did pick up. Mandy and Ryan have been friends for a long time but when Mandy’s friends decide to make a game out of dating five different men, chosen by her friends to be perfect for her, Ryan decides it’s he’s chance to show Mandy he’s her one and only. At the end I was in tears but all comes together for them.
fun read, this is a clean romance with an interesting story and complex characters. Mandy's friends will try one last time to find her soul mate. She dates 5 men and Mandy is sure it will be a disaster. I enjoyed this book
