Beaten. Bloodied. Left for dead.

Melody

I had spent most of my life running away, but now I couldn’t even walk.
Then, he found me. A rugged stranger. My angel.
But my attackers would come back for me. Staying could put him in danger.
I don’t want to run anymore.

Matthew

Being alone was easier. Better.
When Hannah left me I needed to step away as CEO of the firm for a while.
I needed time to myself at the cabin.
There I came across Melody, left to die in the woods.
After finishing my stint as a SEAL, I’d thought my days of fighting were over.
But if her attackers ever came back, I would kill them.
Especially now that she’s carrying our baby.

Fallen is a standalone romance with a healthy dose of steam, no cliffhangers, no cheating and a guaranteed happily ever after.

An exciting well written short romance story. It is action packed with drama, uncertainty, danger, fear, tension, and suspense in this engaging storyline. Melody and Matthew have sizzling chemistry and a strong connection that makes them likeable with a supporting cast of interesting characters. I was on the edge of my seat while these two navigated the dangerous road to a HEA

Fast, easy read. Melody is on the run. Matthew is hidden away but finds Melody nearly frozen and badly beaten. Bad weather makes him take her home to recover. Steamy with non stop action. As usual, this author turns out a page turner that you’ll fly through. (I voluntarily reviewed an ARC).

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the romance between Matthew and Melody. Matthew was the CEO of a large security company he started with his ex-wife after he retired from the Navy SEALS. When Matthew and his wife divorced, he lost interest in running the company, so he hired people to do it for him and moved to the mountains. Matthew was happy living alone in the woods and was getting ready to face a snow storm. When he went to check his traps, he found an unconscious woman almost frozen to death after being beaten. Matthew knew it was too long to wait for help, so he took her back to his cabin and tried to help her. Melody was on the run from a drug cartel after drugs she was smuggling for them were stolen. melody knew she didn't have the money to pay for them, so she knew the cartel wanted to kill her. Melody was desperate for money because her mother was sick and they needed the money to pay for the hospital bills. When the cartel found Melody, they dragged her into the woods and beat her, leaving her for dead knowing the snow storm was coming. When Matthew got her back to the cabin, he called the ranger's station to tell them he found her, unknowing he could alert the cartel she was still alive. Matthew nursed Melody back to health and he wanted to know what happened to her, but Melody was scared he would ask her to leave and she had nowhere else to go. Matthew knew Melody was involved in something bad and he wanted to protect her. They grew close over the time Melody was at the cabin and soon they developed an attraction to one another. But danger was closing in and the cartel came back looking for Melody. I liked this story, it had hints of heat and danger. I found it fast paced and a good read. I really liked Matthew and thought he was a really good guy who wanted to help Melody and protect her, he grew to care for her and realized she helped him care about life again. Another good one from Ava.

Melody is on the run from a client. She;s in the mountains and a storm is approaching. Just as she found shelter she;s found by the hoods that were sent after her to kill her. They take her out to the woods further and beat her and leave her for dead. Matthew has been through a bad divorce which zapped his energy and mental strength. Now he;s in a cabin in Vermont and only doing less than a dozen emails a day with the company he started with his ex wife. While out checking his traps he comes across a few drops of blood and starts to follow the trail Then he finds the body of a woman. He had been out of the Navy SEALS for several years and although he tried to keep in shape carrying this unconscious woman does make it a bit of exercise. Life as he;s known it is about to change.

“Fallen” is an exciting, action-packed, mountain man story that kept me at the edge of my seat from start to finish. Mathew the wealthy CEO and owner of a corporation is living in his mountain cabin and wants to be alone and far away from the pressures in his life. Melody to help her sick mother has become involved with a dangerous group of people. Due to an event outside her control they are now hunting her. When Mathew finds Melody she is badly beaten, frozen and close to death. Because of a severe snow storm, Mathew is unable to bring Melody to a hospital so he brings her back to his cabin to recuperate. Melody is terrified to tell Mathew about her past and the danger he faces if she stays with him. “Fallen” drags you into a world of spine-chilling suspense, sizzling sexual tension and heart wrenching romance. Another fantastic story from this amazing storyteller.

ONE FASCINATING READ!!!
Oh boy, talk about getting deep. In a whirlwind of emotions and events that seems to be riding on category 4 hurricane winds. This is one wild rollercoaster ride with full of drama, intrigue, action, hard hitting, smooth flowing, page turning thrill ride that makes for one electrifying experience. All the twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few unexpected surprises that keeps you riveted on the pages and on a razors edge. The characters are written with such realism it feels like you can just reach out and touch them. The two main characters chemistry is off the charts, white hot and explosive. Drama, fear, uncertainty, danger and suspense increases while tensions spiral. One thrilling storyline and heart pounding plot bring this baby roaring to life perfectly. Fantastic job Ava, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

It's okay, I don't think I will purchase more by this author

No plot spoilers
There is a huge potential trigger relating to men beating a woman right at the start of the book and I don't care if that counts as a plot spoiler it was horrific to read and there should have been a trigger warning in the blurb.
There are some grammatical and editorial errors (at one point the FL calls him both Matthew and Daniel in the same paragraph)
As a story it's actually okay, but the ending was left up in the air and for a Navy SEAL he wasn't very good at protecting either himself or her. It just felt a bit pie in the sky to be honest. There are some sex scenes and some swearing.
I don't think I will be purchasing more by this author, both the editing and writing need more attention to detail.

Melody is running for her life. She is found, beaten and left for dead. Matthew finds her and nurses her back to health. With no one to turn to and nowhere to go Melody finally confesses to Matthew what she was running from. Although Matthew is the good guy, I can't help but take exception to him putting the moves on Melody while she is still recovering. It seems that he took advantage of her. While they were fooling around, Melody felt pain from her injuries. I feel Matthew was totally insensitive and could have waiting to hook up but he did not. Not that she minded much. The bad guys come back looking for her and all heck breaks loose. The problem with the ending is how did Melody get out of the trouble she was in? The book says nothing about it.

She got into the grip of the cartel in an attempt to pay her mothers medical bills and now they have almost beaten her to death and left her to die in the snow. Matthew is the CEO of his own company and a retired seal he is trying to get over a major loss so he has retreated to his cabin in the mountains. When he finds Melody almost dead he takes her to his cabin to recuperate s the weather is to bad to get her to a hospital as she recovers emotion starts to grow between them but Melody knows she is putting Matthew in danger by staying with him. When the cartel comes after her again will Matthew be able to keep the woman he has grown to love safe This is a roller-coaster ride with plenty of danger and suspense guaranteed to keep you turning the pages

This was a suspenseful book about a woman (Melody) who was running from some goons from a drug cartel. They end up catching her right at the beginning of the book and beating her cruelly, leaving her for dead in a terrible snowstorm. An ex-SEAL (Matthew) finds her in the nick of time and brings her back to his cabin to heal. So the questions become: Will these two fall in love? Will the drug cartel realize she is still alive and continue to chase her down to kill her? Can Matthew keep her safe? I highly recommend this book!

This book was full of suspense and drama all about Melody who was running/hiding from a drug cartel, not very successfully because they do catch her at the beginning of the book and beat her cruelly. They left her to die in the snow but Matthew, a retired Seal, finds her just in time and takes her back to his cabin so she can heal.

Is she now safe from the drug cartel, or will they realize she is still alive and come back to finish the job?

Will Matthew be able to keep her safe? Will, what they feel turn into love? Great characters and a fantastic storyline.

Melody is on the run, trying to stay alive but when the bad guys catch up to her she realizes that the end is near. Mathew loves being alone and secluded in the mountains. He can still remotely keep involved in his company. When he comes upon the beaten and almost dead Melody he becomes her hero. I do believe this is one of this authors best books! The romance is awesome but I loved the touch of danger too! This is a must read!

This author has such a way of drawing in the reader effortlessly & immersing them in the story, that you don't want to escape until the very last word is read.

I loved the chemistry between Matthew & Melody. Their story was very touching & intriguing.

I wholeheartedly recommend this book to everyone - This read was sweet, gripping, dark at times, but overall, a beautiful, eloquently-written book to melt the readers heart.

Well done Ava. I look forward to more!

Good intentions.........

Melody makes a bad decision fir a good cause that almost costs her her life.
Matthew is in the right place at the right time in order to save her life. Alone in a cabin, chemistry, heat, feelings and trust begin to grow. But will the danger in the recent past come back to finish the job and will there be collateral damage of the heart!

Two fallen characters who learn how to live again.. When Matthew, a self exiled "hermit" who also happens to be the CEO of his security company stumbles across a badly beaten and bloodied woman, he first thought she might be a dead. As he nurses the mystery woman back to life, strange things begin to happen. When Melody first awakens, the site of the "hermit" scares and confuses her but then she begins to trust, something she thought would never happen again. Both Matthew and Melody soon begin to feel things they both thought were lost forever but is their chance at happiness doomed to fail before it is given a start? There are suspenseful moments in this book that will keep you on the edge of your seat and reading "just one more page" until you realize you read the entire book in one day. This is not your typical Mountain Man Romance and one you would you would be wise to purchase.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.

So much suspense and drama in the Moutain Man romance! I couldn’t put down until I finished.
Melody and Matthew have an instant connection.
He’s very protective as a retired Seal. There’s a lot of action in protecting Melody from the bad guys sent to kill her.
