In the New Republic, every woman must marry five men. It’s the law. Welcome to the apocalypse.
Theirs to Protect
Nix never put his name in the marriage raffle for a reason. He doesn’t need a woman. There aren’t that many to go around anyway after a genetically engineered virus wiped out 90% of the female population. He has his job as head of the Security Squadron and it’s all he needs. He looks out for the township. He protects the few women there are left.
But when his name is called to be one of the five husbands to the woman rescued from the badlands, he doesn’t speak up to correct the error. Because Audrey’s like no one he’s ever met before. Fiesty. That’s the name for her. Not like so many of the women they’ve brought back before. She’s not broken. She might be just the woman to handle a rough, brutal man like him.
Theirs to Pleasure
Shay came into the township knowing she’d be a lottery bride. So she’d have to marry five men. She wasn’t the naïve girl she’d been eight years ago. She’d learned the lessons that had been beaten into her and she’d learned them well. So yes, so she’d share her body with her new husbands. But her secrets were still her own.
The men are different than she expected, though. They each had their own reasons for entering the lottery. There’s Charlie, who’s so sweet and kind. Rafe, who’s a light-hearted jokester during the day but dark and demanding in bed. Then Jonas and Henry and Gabriel, each bringing their own damage and beauty to the clan until, day by day, they begin to feel like a real family.
There’s just one little problem with the happy new family clan.
One of them isn’t who he appears to be. He is a spy for the enemy. Will Shay and the township be doomed before she and her husbands have a chance at lasting happiness?
Their Bride
All Vanessa ever wanted was to be loved. Okay, strike that—all she wanted was not to die at the hands of the homicidal maniac who was obsessed with hunting her down—and to be loved. Was that too much to ask?
The plan was simple: Go to Jacob’s Well. Enter herself in the Marriage Raffle. After years of barely surviving, finally get her happily ever after.
But nothing’s ever that simple, is it? Turns out she’ll have to fight tooth and nail for her fairytale ending. The prize has never been more worth it, though—Five men who love and adore her, and at long last, a home and a family. … if she survives to tell the tale.
Theirs to Defy
Drea was completely lost except for Eric’s hands cupping her face. Eric’s blue eyes piercing hers.
“This isn’t a marriage where each of us get a sliver of you. No, baby, that’s not how this is gonna work.
You have to give every one of us all of you. Pour it all out. Every single drop of yourself and trust that we’ll fill you back up.”
His stare only grew more intense. “We will never leave you. Never forsake you.
Stasia was born in Georgia, grew up in Texas, recently spent a freezing five-year stint in Minnesota, and now is happily planted in sunny California, which she will never, ever leave.
She loves writing, reading, listening to podcasts, and has recently taken up biking after a twenty-year sabbatical (and has the bumps and bruises to prove it). She lives with her own personal cheerleader, aka, her handsome husband, and their teenage son. Wow. Typing that makes her feel old. And writing about herself in the third person makes her feel a little like a nutjob, but ahem! Where were we?
Stasia’s drawn to romantic stories that don’t take the easy way out. She wants to see beneath people’s veneer and poke into their dark places, their twisted motives, and their deepest desires. Basically, she wants to create characters that make readers alternately laugh, cry ugly tears, want to toss their kindles across the room, and then declare they have a new FBB (forever book boyfriend).
Read 4.2 of the 5 books but couldn't finish the last one. LOVED the 1st book. The romance between the characters was believable and story line was great. But each book after that I liked a less and less. I felt like the romance became second to the story line and the author just couldn't make her characters connect. I did NOT like the heroine in book 4 and felt ZERO connection between her and the guys in her marriage. Couldn't make myself finish the last book since I absolutely HATED the heroine. She was whiney, bratty and immature through most of the books and the stunt the author had her "pull" to get her own book was just naive and stupid.
Other then not liking the female characters personalities (which could just be me) the author did a fantastic job with the world building and story flow.
One of those series you just have to read again. Steamy, passionate and romantic, tense adventure that follows on through every individual book . Great reading and enjoyable too .
Okay I’m going to say this; man this book is good it’s so different from the other apocalypse books it’s like a love thing! & the thing I hated was Audrey her as got on my last nerves because she keeps thinking that she was in a bad place. But she wasn’t it was only Camila clan: and their people that were evil ass men.... she kept trying to run away; both her and Nix I wanted to smack but glad in the end that she finally realizes her ass wanted to stay right there with her husband... I did have to laugh at her dumb self when she went to no-man-land I knew it was a bad idea smh. God that girl was dumb, I knew she should’ve told Nix and her other four husbands about Camila wack abusive husbands. But no she wanted to run and got trap my Travis men who wanted to take her in the first place when they shot her brother Charlie for dead. Though I realize he didn’t die since the second book he’s in it... which I am happy about... I hope that they end up seeing each other because she was so disappointed about what happened to her brother and I was too. I also want to know what will happen to Camila husbands; I hope they end up dead or back to Travis gang of EVIL men like The Who’s that that hurt Nix sixteen-year-olds sister.
***Theirs to Pleasure***
So as I am reading the description of the second book. It states that someone is a spy and an enemy. I first thought was it was “Henry” and look at that I was right. In a lot of things, I am right about some I am not. In this case, I was.....I also knew that it was crazy how Shay told Henry instead of Charlie... like really girl, you trusted Henry over Charlie who’ve been locked away in the same place she been at since she was 18 or was it 19 anyways. I was like really. Then turn out she was a freaking spy too, trying to target Audrey and her clan along with Sophia and her dad! In the end, I was glad she actually told them what happened though, Henry ass lied and set them up to get killed by Travis... I was glad Henry died; I knew something was fishy about him I just couldn’t put my finger on it. It’s a good thing that Sophia dodge that bullet when it came too him. & in the end, Shay saved her kids with the help of her three men’s “Charlie, Rage, and Jonas, but especially Charlie, God he walked through fire to save her and he ended up with second and third-degree burns on his body. I kept thinking to myself “He walking through that fire, like JESUS” but in the end, I was glad that he saved her not only her but her kids Nicky and Mattie. Charlie May have been laidback or whatever but man he was so brave... though Jonas let Travis get away; at least he saved Rafe from dying... what got me was Henry really though Shay was going to run to him and save her I would’ve let him get shot and die too not only that BURN THE HELL UP “like Usher said “even though this might bruise you, Let it burn” but poor Charlie what a brave man. If only Jonas would’ve shot Travis or at least one of his men. But oh well hopefully he dies soon in either book three with Vanessa or book four with Drea. I’m tired of that man already.
•••••Their Bride******
Okay, I’m going to be short with this one. Since I don’t have much to say. I will say that it was a bit different from book one and two. It was crazy how Vanessa she ended up with five guys that didn’t even put their name in the box except for Camden. The other four didn’t want that to happen at all. Well, Michael, he didn’t even put his name in the box he just got a box in lol when Riordan stole the box. When I was reading book #2 I was wondering who stolen that box but the thing is in book 2 it only mentioned that Vanessa ended up with ONLY the twins. But in this book, she ended up with all five men. I was glad that they killed that man Jake that tried to hurt Vanessa again I am waiting on Travis to die already that man is so annoying and when he dies I want to know what his army of soldiers going to be doing. But since everyone is in the new area “cavern” or whatever I wonder where Commander at and his daughter are they still in Jake Well’s that’s what I can’t wait to find out in book 4.. with him and Drea, since I don’t think everyone left that place with the homes. Oh btw I was glad Logan got closure with his ex before she died; though the whole time she was in that cavern and dying thinking that Logan was dead and he was at Jake Wells thinking she was dead too.
•••**+Theirs To Defy+**•••
This book was good; I’m just going to be really short with this review. Because I was over it; couldn’t wait to finish. But I will say this Drea; is one strong ass female she deserves to be president but UGH! No one has killed Travis yet! Like Gah, Suicide died the guy Shay ran from died... why hasn’t Travis died yet ugh! I hope he finally dies in the book with Eric daughter Sophia because no way that man can be still alive. He wasn’t a true friend to Sophia dad at all.... just pure evil even though he did save Eric and his daughter... but it’s crazy that Eric didn’t see Arnie as he called him an EVIL man when they were in the army. But in the end I am glad; that Drea saved the women from Suicide but in reality are the women saved from Arnie though?... I think not; I still think he has the women trapped while selling them off... I only liked Garrett and Billy... but you look at it she more than so had sex with MOSTLY “Eric; Jonathan and David” barely with Garrett at all, Billy did get in sometimes...
•••***Theirs to Ransom*****••
I’m going to point this out before I get into this review. This book has all five books in it. Not just four... I am wondering why the author didn’t update the description of the book because it’s 5 not 4 stories in this book. WEIRD when an author never updates anything and let the readers know beforehand so they can get the storyline (description of the book)...
Whoosh finally I am finished with this whole collection. Gah, my head was pounding so much. This why I hardly read the box set... Sometimes it’s just too much.
But anyways, I liked this one way better than the one with Drea...
One thing I will say is that Sophia gosh she was so dang stupid to trust Jagger; like I already knew Toby was full of shit... and something was up with Jagger but couldn’t pinpoint what...I was glad that Toby had died in the end. I also knew that Sophia marriage was FAKE as fuck because there wasn’t an actual marriage at all. I wish that Sophia had sex with Finn first and lost her virginity to him. But she gave it to both anus and coochie to Jagger first. But at least it was Finn first time when they had sex on their fake wedding night. & in the end, Sophia finally got the wedding she wanted and everyone was back in Jake Wells or was it, Jacob Wells? Whatever. I’m just glad that freaking dusty dumb Travis DEAD as FUCK by the hands of Sophia and her dad Eric... Yassss...
So this one started out really strong. I think the first and second books were really good. Third one was ok, not quite as strong and then the fourth and fifth kinda fell off for me. Its steamy, really steamy actually. They are super fast paced but the last two were slower and less steamy. I ended up finishing because i was so invested in finishing the continuing story line that flows through all 5 books. But by the 5th one, i was ready to skip to the end and just figure out how it ended. The 5th one had the least amount of development in the love story and had less voice for the individual men. I came out of it not really knowing who they were except two. Which is kinda off when there are 5 men per story ( or four in this instance) It just felt less fleshed out as a personal story and more of an over all story. I do like how it tied all the bad guys to all the good guys in unexpected ways. But it leads me to question ages haha. sometimes ages are given, other times i feel like im left wondering. I guess in the end it dosent really matter. The sex is really steamy in the first 4 books and a bit lackluster in the 5th. All in all, i read through all 5 in about 4 days and enjoyed them overall.
Light spoilers a head... but overall I liked these books much more than expected.
Theirs to Protect 4 stars You know... sometimes you go down weird goodreads holes looking at similar books and peoples reviews and you wind up at books like these. You’re not really sure how it happened, and you feel a little weird, but you’re also not mad. Erotica aside, the plot was really suspenseful. I did not know how the story was going to resolve itself. Does it have flaws? Of course. But was it also good? Yeah. Any book I can finish in a night can’t be too bad in my book.
Theirs to Pleasure 3 stars A low three stars. I do have to commend the author on writing interesting, unique standalone male characters who don’t blend into one another, because I feel like that could very easily happen with a premise like this. The whole post-apocalyptic world is also very interesting. I also appreciated that she isn’t afraid to kill off a main character (unless that was a fake in which case fuck you).
My main fault besides some repetition of the erotic premise, was that I was ultimately eh about our female lead. I didn’t feel a connection to her, and thats especially needed with the premise and the plot to save her kids (who I also never felt a connection to because we learn almost nothing about them). Also, I’d imagine her ptsd would be wayyyyy worse.
Their Bride 4 stars I liked Vanessa, I truly felt for her. I also liked how the plot was switched up a little with the guys all being hesitant and not into it at the beginning. Nice!
Theirs to Defy 3 stars I surprisingly liked Drea as a lead. She was kind of half flushed out and annoying in the first three, but her background and change in this book was really quite lovely. This book was much more action heavy, which I surprisingly liked a lot (it was written really well too, which I was pleasantly surprised and grateful for because sometimes ‘genre’ authors don’t always write other types very well). I wish this didn’t have the erotica element though. I would rate it higher if it didn’t have any explicit sex scenes. They felt misplaced and wrong. You can keep the whole 5 husbands thing, because it makes sense it this world, but those scenes felt unnecessary to the plot of this story unlike the other books. This was much more action/dystopian with a splash of romance/erotica, than an erotic romance with a splash of action like the others.
Theirs to Ransom 4 stars A few reviews say they liked this the least because Sophia was naive and misguided, but that was actually what I liked the most about it? I liked her unbridled optimism in this dystopian world, and it makes sense since her father raised her that way. If all the characters had the same personalities it would be so boring. I also didn’t think she made any especially dumb decisions, ok yeah one at the end, but I barely even cared because I have a sweet spot for her. She’s even grown since the first few books, especially looking up to and learning things from the other women. I also really liked Mario from this grouping. I also liked that the sex wasn’t as explicit in this one too. I kind of liked that it was less romance driven. The second epilogue was also everything.
Theirs to Protect It is post apocalyptic Texas and women are outnumbered 12 to one. In the small town of Jacob’s Well, there is a raffle that occurs every time there is an available woman. This raffle allows for five men to become the husband of the woman and therefore to form a familial unit. The women is theirs to protect and love and to care for.
Audrey and her brother are on the way to a women’s commune to take her to a place where she will be safe in this world. That is until they cross territory that puts them both in danger. Audrey gets away and is safely taken to the town of Jacob’s Well. She is raffled off to five men. And from day one, she wants to run away. Things in the town are not as safe and happy as they seem. Audrey is in danger and so are her men. What will she do to keep them safe? To keep herself safe? Only time will tell.
Theirs to Pleasure Shay has spent the past eight years under the rule of a tyrant, the leader of Travisville. He has done nothing but treat her like his own personal property from the day that they met and she allowed it to happen, and then couldn't get out of the situation. Until Charlie came along.
Charlie is Audrey's brother from Theirs to Protect. He has been held captive for 3 months. He is looking for his sister and is afraid that she is suffering the same fate as many women had. But then he learns where she is and Shay helps him to escape.
Once they are in Jacob's Well, their lives change and Shay is nervous and unsure about her life and where things will go for them. But she is determined that Charlie will be by her side through it all.
Their Bride Vanessa has been in survival mode and on her own for eight years. She has had to do and learn so much just to be able to exist in a world where 90% of the women died. She is just trying to get to Jacob's Well and complete the lottery so that she can finally be safe with her own clan. Things don't go quite as planned, and her clan is created by default. No one is quite ready for the repercussions of the fallout from this, but Vanessa believes in luck. There is a reason for everything. Now to just get everyone on board.
Theirs to Defy Drea is determined to save the women that she was taken from when she came to Jacob’s Well. She will stop at nothing to make this happen. Even marrying five men for varying reasons. Each man brings something to the table that allows Drea to be strong and yet weak. Even though she fights this at every turn. Will she be able to save her women? Or will she lose her life before she can be successful?
Theirs to Ransom Sophia is going on a little adventure. Always daddy’s little girl, she is determined to find her way in the world. But things don’t go quite the way she plans. She has gotten herself into a situation that she will have to figure out how to cope with. Will she be able to find the happiness in her marriage that she has always dreamed of? Or will this be the biggest mistake of her life?
I am not usually a fan of reverse harem style romance and so I was a little wary going into this series, but I actually quite enjoyed it. The characters were interesting, the world building was great and the writing kept me awake long after I should’ve been asleep. However, there were aspects to some of the heroine’s (four different heroine’s) behaviour that were extremely annoying - to the point of almost ruining the book IMO. Somehow the five husbands actually worked for me - colour me amazed. The sexy times weren’t my cup of tea, but despite that I quite enjoyed learning more about each husband and how the arrangement worked well for each of them. I also liked how their strengths and weaknesses complemented each other and actually made the ‘clan’ function better.
**Possible Spoilers**
Book One - Audrey. A good intro to the series. The heroine was a bit of a stubborn and defiant idiot though and only realised this at the very end of the book.
Book Two - Shay. This heroine impressed me. The storyline was also very good IMO. It was like mmm this is okay, then BAM a new revelation and oooh it’s so much more interesting now... then BAM again. I enjoyed this one despite some repetitive “should I, shouldn’t I” from the heroine. The ending frustrated me somewhat, but I guess it had to be that way for future storyline purposes.
Book Three - Vanessa. I really liked Vanessa, she was badass. I admired how she fought for what she wanted and worked to win over her husbands and form her clan. I wasn’t as keen when she had to keep fighting for one of her husbands over and over. The ending was ‘interesting’, but I liked the book.
Book Four - Drea. I wasn’t looking forward to this one because Drea seemed to be a bit of a bloody-minded hard-headed know it all man hater. However. She had a fair amount of redeeming factors in her story and despite her ongoing hard-headedness, overall it was a good read.
Book Five - Sophia. I was expecting a pampered, naive, stubborn mule of a woman, and that’s what I got. Rushing blindly into situations that she was in no way prepared for, and not listening to any sensible advice. Somehow, despite that, it was still an engaging read, and I liked how the stories all wrapped up in the end.
This has all five Marriage Raffle stories. It’s a truly different world after Exterminate, a disease that kills most of the female population. These stories are not just about all five couples, it is also about taking down a mad man. These stories have suspense, secrets, lies, deception, regaining trust, action and twists and turns. Each story is about one lady being married to five men and opening themselves to love. The females are not delicate, they have strength, sass and feistiness. The men are all alphas and each is different in how they act and express their feelings. They prove that they will do whatever it takes to keep their wives safe and protected. If RH are not your cup of tea, you should probably skip this set. If you do like them, jump right in. Theirs to Protect- Audrey, Phoenix (Nix), Clark, Graham, Mateo and Danny Their to Pleasure- Shay, Charlie, Rafe, Jonas, Henry and Gabriel Their Bride- Vanessa, Logan, Cam, Michael and twins Riordan and Ross Theirs to Defy- Drea, Eric, Billy, Garrett, Jonathan and David Theirs to Ransom- Sophia, Finn, Jagger and brothers Leo and Mario If you missed any of the stories, I recommend getting the box set, you won’t be sorry.
All five books kept my attention from start to finish. The love of lust and regrets from everyone was inviting. How the stories unfolded for each girl and the entanglement to come full circle was enjoyed. Even in the midst of horrifying war and abuse of women they rise from the ashes and saved so many. Love and marriage can be a real and happy ever after. So the raffle was not so bad in the end. It was nice that the lady's fell for their husbands. Each female added to their story and led to the next one allowing them too overcome what was needed to survive. Hopefully stories like this one gives an insight of how things can go from now to horribly wrong to it just a minute to be ok in the end. Only thing is for sure lust love and sex will keep the population growing. Is happily ever after a real thing or just smoke and mirrors.
I really enjoyed this series by Stasia Black. When the world is struck down by a disease that kills only women, all the men went kind of crazy. But not the Commander, he created a safe haven in Jacob's Well, for people with no criminal past to live peacefully. But with a lack of women, he cleverly devised THE MARRIDGE RAFFLE. Where by the men who wish to participate put their names in a locked box to be part of the raffle. The prize is 5 men get to marry 1 woman. Sounds unconventional, but they make it work. Of course when something works so well there has to be someone out to destroy it. Come join the adventures the ups and downs these people embark upon.
This book was hard to read for me but I'm happy I read it. Our invincible villain was finally killed.... Shot between the eyes by Eric. Though Sophie shot him several times?. Finn got the girl he wanted, Leo got his dream of not having to take care of his brother because he came back to life loving Sophie as did jagger Drea for President! Yay. (She reinvested in birth control) There was mystery, intrigue, violence, sex and a coming of age... Luckily Jagged said they weren't really married and Sophie was able to have the wedding of her dreams...albeit five years and three kids later. ***will there be another book about Kylie going off to an ambassador for Drea"*
A GREAT reading DEAL, with PHENOMENAL sci-fi romance entertainment! MUST-BUY! I collected these books, and then read each as it was released! Now I am going to purchase them in the box set, so I can re-read them - one right after the other. The reading is easy, the characters are well-developed, and the dystopian world so well imagined and described that the precept for each story is both beyond belief and plausible. I fell in love with each story, all of the characters, and masterful writing of author Stacia Black in the process. Phenomenal reading and this week's MUST-Buy or get it with KU! Happy pages!! 😉
Really happy I found this series loved all of them. I love all the different stories and backgrounds of each character. And some of the hot hot hot bedroom scenes or sometimes outside scenes had to fan myself to cool down lol. The only thing that I didn't like too much was the last book I wish I could ha e read a little more in Leo's and Mario's pov this one was more Jagger and Fin's pov with Sophia. I just wanted to know them a little more like the rest of the other characters in the other books. Other than that I have no complaints about any of these definitely recommend!! Stasia Black you never disappoint me when I read your books.
Ok, I admit I grabbed this collection because my library was almost filled and it was 5 books in 1. I haven’t had much luck with reverse harems in the past because the story lines are always so weak. I like a good sex scene, but when a book is only about hopping from one crotch to another w/o a story? Eh, it loses me.
THIS SERIES IS AWESOME. It has an amazing and well-written story, with characters you both love to hate, and love to love. Stasia Black created a world where multiple partner relationships worked. And the sex scenes? OMG, so hot. Thank you Stasia!!!
You can't go wrong and at this price! I've read almost all of these books and reviewed several. They are phenomenal reading. In this dystopian world where there are fewer females (b/c of a catastrophic disease) than men, couples will have multiple men with one woman. What a way to go ladies! Some marriages are amicable in the beginning and some are not. The path to their HEA is always entertaining and HOT. If you like the menage trope where it's all about the woman and like it HOT, read this series. You will not be disappointed.
This book is amazing, every story told off a woman and her 5 men who was chosen to be her husband's. We read about how they became who they were and this book has got some dark sides to it too. The steamy sex scenes is outstanding and who ever reads it would probably which they were the woman in the story being taken care of by her 5 husband's. I would definitely recommend this book to my family and friends and anybody else. You will not be disappointed, I couldn't put it down. Thankyou Stasia Black for a great story. Can't wait to read more of your books. Xx
I loved these books, they were well written except the frequent grammatical errors. Going in expecting this based on other reviews made it easy to overlook. Loved the characters and their stories. The ups and downs and my stomach churning and jumping. More than once I had to put it away and compose myself. But I could never put it down for long, it keeps you coming back for more to the very last page. The honeymoon short story was great as well, don't miss it!!
If you want safe dystopian this is not it. Massive violence and rape triggers!
Cute and completely unrealistic dystopian romances. True love from a raffle marriage is 1:1,000,000 at best. Deception and rape/abuse minimally represented in scenario. The presentation of making the best of the available options is fine, but it was hard to deal with total lack of realism. Once accepting the fantasy world & mindsets of characters it was entertaining enough to finish. Epilogue was sweet and left door open to sequel series.
read the first one and couldn’t put the series down!
I always love Stasia Black’s work - if you haven’t read any of her work yet you’re seriously missing out. From her series Monsters Consorts to the marriage raffle series she writes such addictive stories with the perfect balance of spicy 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ her characters are so believable and captivating - the ups and downs are organic and the characters development makes my black cat heart swoon 💗 seriously the perfect balance of suspense, dark romance vibes and addictive world building.
I highly recommend the series. I read the stories as they were initially released and really enjoyed them all. The author creates very different characters and each family is unlike the others so it doesn't feel like it is repetitive. You get to meet the characters again in the other books too and see what the future has in store for them. The author throws some twists into the plots.
I loved this book series so much that I recommended it to all my friends! And guess what! They all loved and enjoyed it just as much as I did! This is an excellent dystopian reverse harem romance. I am so glad I found this series and that first book. Thank you for introducing me to the world you created inside your books. It was brilliant and I enjoyed every minute of it. I look forward to reading more by Stasia Black. 5.0
The author's note says that she doesn't like post apocalyptic or dystopian stories. And I usually stay away from these! However, Stasia writes so well that I decided to give the Marriage Raffle series a try. And I'm so glad I did. Each character is well drawn with a back story which explains their own self doubt and flaws. The action scenes pull you in to the thick of the action. And the love scenes are emotional and HOT!
Here is a boxed set of stories all set in a future with most of the women gone. How one town handles that situation and how 5 different women fare in the marriage raffles in that town is the basis of these stories. Throw in a bad bad megalomaniac, smugglers and sex traders and you have a gritty set of books set in a time of chaos. These books are definitely sexy and have plenty of explicit scenes.
After the damn near end of the world, women are scarce and a valuable commodity. Some men truly believe in respecting a woman but others sure don't! One man has done what he can to make his daughter safe. Forming a town with strict rules for the men in town. Only one scary thing. ...THE MARRIAGE RAFFLE! Each woman is married to 5 men. The men enter into the raffle and if their lucky their name is drawn!
The story that carries through these five books really had to be read as on book. I wouldn't be able to wait to read the next book to see what happens next. The characters ' individual stories are well developed and you get invested in how their end of the world will end up.😉 Oh and the reverse harem steam is totally there and does not disappoint. Each book very similar with this but changes it up enough to fit the characters.😘
I really enjoyed the storylines, liked her writing style a lot. Obviously alot of sex scenes but for most part they were written quite well, usually i skim past those as they are quite cringey but not in these (mostly). Some points it was hard to keep track of who is who. Last book was not as good as the others, felt like she rushed it all a little bit towards the end.
The complicated, involved future vision that author Stacia Black creates for her readers is amazing and draws you in quickly. Before I knew it, I was invested in the lives (and loves) of the small community. I stayed up late trying to see how the author would find love and family connection for disparate characters. All in all, her solutions to love and romance in a tough, post-apocalyptic world kept me interested and curious to the very last page.
Wow!! What else can I say? This story is not only HOT but the suspense and drama just keeps you on the edge of your seat in more ways than one. I would recommend this book/series to my friends and some of my family. That is, just the ones that can handle multiple hot hero's to one special heroine.
The first book was good enough that I went ahead and got the series. Books 2-4 were not bad, but by book 5, after the first few chapters I skipped to the end.
I gave this a lower-star rating because books 2-5 in the digital boxset clearly had not been proofed. They were full of typos and mistakes, all of which would have been easily caught.
