Claimed by the Alpha

Rate this book
All Gemma wanted to do was get away from werewolf politics and her dominant, alpha father, who had done nothing but control her life. She wanted nothing more than to be a free woman and not be forced to marry another controlling male. When she ran off to the other side of the country, she didn’t think that she would be running into another dominant alpha male, Aiden. He shows nothing but distaste toward her. She would leave, but she’s financially strapped and has nowhere else to go. It would also seem that wherever she goes, he’s there.

Aiden had tasked his brother John to hire an assistant for their company, giving him strict rules not to hire a woman. So, it came as a surprise when John went against Aiden’s requests and hired Gemma. One sniff of her and Aiden is having a hard time controlling not only his temper, but the urge to shift. There is something about her that stirs his wolf. But he doesn’t figure out what it is until another alpha wolf comes into his territory and takes Gemma.

Will Aiden come after her, or will he let her go? Will Gemma finally concede to live life among the wolves, or will she run again?

Publisher’s Note: Claimed by the Alpha is a stand-alone book in the Sanctuary Series. They can be read in any order. They are also HEA guaranteed, no cheating. This book contains a hot, demanding alpha wolf with a penchant for protecting and dominating his female. If such material offends you, do not buy this book.

Short review - Meh

Very slightly longer review- A forgettable shifter romance. You could argue it’s my own fault. I wanted a short shifter romance and after spending far too long trying to find one I settled on this. I knew early on it wasn’t going to be good but I stuck with it.

Finding a true mate

First I must address another review... I was weary to read this because they said there was rape and incest in the book which is NOT true. It was a dream. Can't stand when people do that, oh well.

I'm just glad she found her Alpha mate and didn't stay locked up in her own pack.

WTF was this?

Pure amateur.
Dialogue was awkward and immature.
The setup was strange and badly rushed.

Not spoilers to follow, as they happen in the first couple of chapters.

Hired to work the office, FMC is fired same day, but given a week.
Never interacts or talks to MMC during the week.

Gets another job catering, sees MMC there. He grabs her arm so hard as to injure her, drags her out of sight, and has a go at her, but we don’t know why.

She apologises to him for snapping and making him mad 😳😵

He demands she get in a car with him, he will take her home (quit this job, cause…?).
He’s a stranger who has just physically assaulted her!
She does. 🤯

He doesn’t like the hotel she’s staying at, demands she come home with him..

This entire time, he’s treating and speaking to her like shite…
Started checking reviews after this.

So I’m so very, very, done!
Not touching this author ever again.

A decent short Were story.

It was a decent enough shirt story.
It was a little shorter than I thought, and there was so much room for more of a storyline here.
But the author decided that was enough.

It was, I suppose your typical story of Alpha being nasty to his daughter, causing her to run away and stumble on to the Alpha of another pack.
Said Alpha also happens to be her mate.

Like I said, it was ok, but I dont really think it gripped me enough to go straight into book 2.

✅Werewolf romance

Gemma grew up being an alphas daughter whose only goal was to breed her. “ A female with wolf DNA who was still living was rare. Female wolves were even rarer.” Hence the reason she was in high demand. Feeling like she had no other choice she ran off to the other side of the country, little did she know she would be running into another alphas territory.

I thought the story had more potential, I felt like there could have been more background development. I also would have liked seeing Aiden’s and Gemmas relationship progress more.

Gemma and Aiden💕

Spice: 🌶️
POV: Dual
Standalone with HEA
TW with SA but in dream ONLY. Abus*ve Father.

Fast paced short story. It would have been a good book if it was longer and more detailed.
This book is different from all other werewolf books I’ve read. Female with were DNA are rare and supposed to be cherished. Both characters are likable.

I’ll probably read book 2 with Aiden’s half brother John.

Just no… this is probably the worst book I’ve ever read.. skimmed through most of it because it was so bad and I just wanted to know if there was at least good spice, but I was yet again disappointed… DNF, so no rating

I am cleaning out my shifter freebies this weekend so there are several of similar reviews. Claimed by the Alpha is book one in the Sanctuary series. You can also find it free in Kindle unlimited. The book is only 100 pages, so it’s a super short read.

The book follows Gemma, a she-wolf running from her past and Aiden, alpha of the territory she ended up in.

Disappointed

So I was intrigued with the description and thought I'd check it out. Started out good but then it went down hill and felt rushed I was like this could have possibly been a good series. Then at the end I find out it is a series. Not going to try the second book this one was just to much of a let down

Quick and Interesting Read

I thought the story was interesting. I wanted to know more about the 2 main characters. I think their backgrounds had depth and substance but the author didn't incorporate that into the story which did the book a disservice.

I was looking for werewolf romances, and came across this. I read this is one sitting, definitely would recommend it and looking forward to the next installment.

This was a short, hot enjoyable read, but I have to say, the men from Gemma's pack were totally off putting, as they were written to be. The author did a good job of making me totally hate them and like Aiden even more for stepping up and being a real Alpha. He came across as pretty rude at first, but his motivations were soon revealed and you see a totally different side of him. I also liked that he knew Gemma was his mate, but let her come to him once he knew the abuse she had suffered with her old pack.

I liked Gemma too. She had this horrible upbringing and an abusive father. She's human, but carries the wolf gene. The men are all bigger and can overpower her physically, but she doesn't let that stop her. She ran away and made it on her own until she had to find work for money and stumbles upon Aiden's business. She's a good, strong female MC who is not whishy washy and when she needs to make a hard decision, she makes it without too much hesitation.

The steamy scenes were also super hot

Okay this landed between it was okay and not liking it. I liked what the story was about but the author didn't quite land it. I'm very surprised at the 5 star reviews but it takes a lot to impress me these days. Too many books read the same way. I found Gemma to be a little too weak. I understand why because of how she was treated but I still expected her to be a little stronger. She played the damsel every step of the way. She had her moments though. Aiden was kind of an abusive butthole. Not to the point of her Dad. I didn't like how he treated her though. Scared her all the time. Grabbed her arm bruising and hurting her. Getting in her face. He calmed down a little but I need more than that to buy into these 2 becoming mates. Zero chemistry. She was a special kind of wolf and he needed a mate. Just no emotional connection. I don't know it just didn't mesh together in this book. I didn't buy the mate thing at all. Felt too much like an arrangement. Don't recommend.

Too much of the same plot
The longer I sit with this this lower my rating gets. Gemma runs away from home cause her father and now he basically wants to pimp her out as a broodmare to whoever is the most beneficial ally to him. I get the the SA is threatened or in a dream but the language used was at times more sexual than the actual scene between the 2 characters. The plot seemed to repeat itself but with interchanging villains and neglected any character development in the process. Because the characters weren't developed enough, they didn't have any form of chemistry. Aiden's backstory was mentioned by the side character not him and while it was sad, there was no real reason why we should care. It was too short to have any impact and too long to have spent in this story.

This book is a quick yet enjoyable read. Personally I usually read books with more depth and a slower pace, but I know lots of readers who prefer this sort of book and there are times when you want a book you can read in one sitting. Nothing is missing in regard to character development or story telling and, unlike a lot of shorter books, this one doesn’t feel rushed. It’s an interesting read.

It is told in first person from two different points of view. This style seems to be becoming more and more popular and I am pleased to say that this author is one of the few I have read who actually manages to make it work well. I would happily read more by this author.

If you want to spend a couple of hours with a good book that you can completely read in the timeframe, this is the book for you.

⭐️⭐️ | I Think I’m Done With These

I went into Claimed by the Alpha hoping for guilty pleasure escapism, but unfortunately, it just confirmed what I’ve been suspecting for a while: I think I’ve officially outgrown this type of book.

The same tropes, the same brooding alpha who’s possessive to the point of being a walking red flag, and a heroine who feels like she was written in a rush. The plot was predictable, the chemistry felt forced, and every twist landed exactly where I expected it to.

I used to love the drama, the intensity, the over-the-top romance—but now? It just feels tired. I found myself skimming more than reading, and by the end, I felt more relieved than satisfied.

If you’re still into the “fated mate” whirlwind romance genre, you might enjoy it more than I did. But for me, this was the sign I needed: it’s time to move on.

Cute short story!

I didn’t expect this story to be so short. We have Gemma who ran away from her dad who is an alpha who
her so she can breed. She found herself applying to different types of jobs & constant moving afraid of being capture abt her dad. She found this secretary job where Aidan didn’t want a female secretary but a male. He felt something different in Gemma but couldn’t pin point it. This story is really short, I wish it was longer & somewhat give
More info on the pack. It felt that the only characters of the book was... H- Aidan/h- Gemma/John- Aidan’s stepbrother & omega/Gemma’s dad & Mr. Fisher- her dads 2nd in command.
Every time both alphas went out there was no one watching their backs.. it was like no packs existed. Very weird

This wolf shifter paranormal romance ticked off all the boxes for me. Hot and sexy. Steamy scenes. Alpha hero with a smug and protective attitude. Strong female lead. There's just enough angst, backstory, and plot to really fill in the story while also focusing on the main characters. I loved the chemistry between Aiden and Gemma. Definitely would continue to read more in this series and hope the other wolves find their mates too. Really enjoyed Claimed by the Alpha from start to finish.

A thoroughly intriguing alpha wolf romance!

I nearly gave this a 2, but couldn't in good conscience based on how harsh I've been on the previous book club books.

This book felt rushed, and glossed over events that could have been interesting while exploring things that could have been passed over faster. I think there was just too much ambition for a book of this length, and that fewer "twists" would have allowed for a better story.

Also, I have so many questions about how the alpha dynamics work in this book. Truly more questions than answers. Is no one else concerned about the incredibly low female mortality? Are women just weak? How does this work? I could go on.

Took me two hours to read it? Very short book to read and there was so much potential to make this epic? But no. The plot was very quick - ye, at least it was over in few hours. But genuinely if you expect something more from a book and you want to get to know the characters and experience main characters to fall in love. Nope. Not this one. She moved, met him, some drama and … mated, bred and done. Wish it was longer and you could bond with the characters. This way… you will not remember you read this after a day. Nonetheless, it was somehow fun, too. Just disappointed here.

Character development flaws

The story is very short, good if you just need something to get you out of a slump or just a fast pace read.

My problem with the book is the characters felt flat..there wasn’t much depth to either of the characters, side characters included.

The story did start out decent and I guess the one downfall with short and fast paced reads is it doesn’t give you time to build.

It’s not a bad read but I most likely won’t be reading other books in this series.

I really enjoyed this alpha story between Aiden and Gemma.
Aiden – not sure if he would ever marry again after the death of his wife.
Gemma, wanting to make a fresh start and escape her father and the contract for marriage to a mean Alpha.
Two souls not just finding one another, but also saving each other.
Lovely written and an excellent storyline.
Would recommend, and cannot wait for the next book by this talented author.

I just, I don't quite know what I just read? I mean I should have guessed when I typed in wolf shifter romance ahaha.

This was a very quick read, a standalone. I wish there was more? And it needed to be way more fleshed out. Everything happened waaayyy tooo fast. After 47 pages we already talking about potential mates and everyone is okay with this?? Like you met 20min ago... hmmmmm.

Sadly disappointing

I really wanted to love this story as it had lots of the elements I love in a werewolf romance. Sadly, it was lacking depth in both plot and character development. Very rushed story and quick read that could have done with being fleshed out much more

There were a number of errors throughout the book, and the writing style was a struggle to connect with unfortunately

A Quick read

While I enjoyed the book overall, I felt the action scenes were far to quick. And the book seemed rushed. I likely will not continue the series. I wanted to see more character development and some more drawn out plots. This was very much a this is the problem and this is the solution type of story. Very quick resolutions when you're expecting the fight scenes to be more dramatic, and the love scenes to be more intense.
