To Love Again

Rate this book
Cooper May is unlike anyone Dominic “Nic” Vaughn has ever met in his life. The deaf artist is quiet but strong and devoted only to his sister—whose wedding is the reason he’s aboard ship in the first place—and his dreams. Dominic is drawn to Coop almost from first meeting him aboard the luxury cruise liner on which he works as a butler. Although Nic has deliberately spent the last two years alone, after the love of his life was killed in the line of duty, Coop draws him in irresistibly with his artistic soul and his gorgeous reserve. But he’s straight, as far as Nic can tell and only seems to want friendship. Nic can’t resist him, but knows he could be setting himself up for heartbreak if he falls for Coop.Dominic is the sexiest man Cooper May has ever met. But it takes him months of growing friendship to realize that, to recognize that the bond between them has grown into something deeper and more intimate. Still, even having discovered that he’s in love with Nic, he doesn’t think he stands a chance with him. He’s deaf, for starters...what man in his right mind would want to saddle himself with someone who can’t communicate without props? And Nic’s job takes him away a lot. Better to stay focused on his goal of opening his own art gallery and leave impossible dreams in the dust where they will end up, anyway. But what if Coop is wrong? And what if Nic can find true love again? Please Note: This book contains adult language and steamy adult activities, it is intended for 18+ Adults Only. Novel, approximately 78,000 words in length. HEA (happy ever after ending). Does not end with a "cliffhanger." Themes include Demi-sexual, second chance romance, artist, deafness, first time.

**** 10 Stars ! ***** This is a magnificent story of two men who find comfort simply being in each others prescence. Their bond is etherial, deep and stabilizing. Every character is tremendously portrayed.
* Dominic, 30, is a broad and buff,

6'3" professional cruise ship butler with auburn hair, whose husband died two years ago in the line of duty. He'll be taking care of his cop brother, Allen's, wedding party
for the 10 day cuise. The bride, Jane, RN, brings her special people, and the party consists of 12 folks all together. Dominic/Nic meets Jane's older brother,
* Cooper, who is using ASL to communicate.

Coop is deaf, an artist/painter with long black hair and green eyes, and has a sleek swimmer's toned body.

This has anamazing plot flow, it's romantic, stunningly described, and extremely absorbing.
In a word... unputdownable.

The wedding plans, events, and family interactions have tender moments, fun, and so much more. (I wish I could tell you everything.) I loved that Nic and Cooper were so natural in each others company. * The cruise is extensive, lively, and as they continue through the ceremony and afterward, we see heartwarming commeraderie.

Skipping ahead, I want you to know Cooper and Nic proceed with thier friendship on land. We see the guys each have future plans for working. Now, * the wooing and courting, begins slowly.
Cooper has never been with a man, and Nic plans to make their first times, and Cooper's, special, and these two are passionate, memorable, and they want to find forever love. Nic deals with his feelings for his dead husband and moving on, while Cooper must overcome his insecurities of being a deaf man in a relationship.
* Jerry Cole has outdone himself as he gives us a superb unfolding of all the events and milestones. This is my favorite of all of the books I've read by this auhtor.
Exciting. Energetic. Engaging.

We feel like we are right in the story and the time passes smoothly.
The sexy times are erotic, intense, important, and extraordinary.

Just read it !
I highly recommend this to fans of M/M romance.
Enjoyment guaranteed.

“He’s a guy, I’m a guy. There are no unmentionables.”

California author Jerry Cole is a gay author who has been writing fiction since he was a child. As a young adult, he worked as a freelance writer in the evenings and on weekends. In the summer of 2015 he published his first gay romance short story on Amazon. Overwhelmed by the positive response he decided to quit his “day job” and took up writing gay romance full time. His publications are now in the range of 65!

While Jerry never lets his audience of readers down, this novel is probably his finest yet. Knowing his style of writing, the prose flows out smoothly and the choice of character types he has selected for this novel are not only well sculpted: they are men with a ‘handicap’ for bonding in a love relationship. Cooper aka ‘Coop’ is an artist who is deaf, communicates by text messaging in preference to signing, and is vulnerable and irresistible. He is on the luxury liner for his sister Jane’s wedding to Allan who just happens to be the brother of the handsome Dominic aka ‘Nic’ who is working as a butler on the ship. Dominic is a loner: his police captain husband was killed in the line of duty two years ago and he avoids relationships.

This is a unique and complex cast – two men with baggage (one deaf and one still grieving) who come together because their siblings are getting married. The courting is gradual, each man overcoming his insecurities, and the romance gradually blossoms into a fine bond – and an erotic love story. Jerry shines in this sensitive and beautifully written novel. Once again, hats off to a Pro!

I picked this up because of the blurb, Cooper's character intrigued me.
Sadly, it didn't work for me. The characters were nice, but I didn't like the writing at all.

Another excellent book by Jerry Cole. He is one of my favorite authors and I really enjoyed the story of Nic and Cooper. The author gave us a love story which started very slow through a friendship. Although Coop looks like a straight guy, his connection with Nic became very strong and their relationship just blossomed through the pages of this book. Nic had to face his demons with what he started to feel for Coop as he cannot believe that he is lucky enough to find another love. What was amazing through the story, is that although Coop is deaf, this is not a problem for their relationship. The ways of communication between them give a very clear message that when you really love someone, you can always find the right way to communicate. Not to mention of course that the body language can express everything needs to be said.

If I can suggest something is the end of the story. As a romantic soul, which I would like to think that I am, I would prefer to see them married and maybe starting a family. In any case, I strongly recommend it as it has strong emotions and internal battles but as always, love can find her way through the hearts of the heroes. Jerry I look forward for your next book.

A beautiful story, you get to see the world through the eyes of Dominic and Coop, both of which struggle with their own kind of issues.

Dominic lost the love of his life in the line of duty and has made his work at a cruise the center of his life just so he doesn't have to deal with his own grief. Coop is a visual artist who's life was changed by an accident which left him completely deaf.

Love in all of its forms, loss, second chances at life, as well as a journey of self-discovery seem to be the main themes of this book. You get to experience the loving family that surrounds both of the main characters, as well as some of them coming to terms with their past in order to fully live their present and look forward to the future.

A slow-paced love story that takes its time for the characters to realize what they have gotten themselves into, which keeps the reader waiting for the moment when they finally accept it and star acting accordingly. I totally recommend it, it filled me with joy every time I read the characters engage in more significative ways right until the last sentence of the book.

This book is the reason I love Jerry’s stories. He is very inclusive in a lot of his works. He includes people of color, people with mental illnesses and people with physical disabilities. REPRESENTATION MATTERS! This story includes Cooper “Coop” who is deaf but is a fabulous artist and Dominic “Nic” who is his butler aboard a cruise liner. The main theme between these two men is their immediate attraction and feelings for one another while also trying to be safe with their hearts. Coop is worried that his physical limitations would be a burden on any relationship while Nic can’t find the strength to love someone else after his husband. Jerry is wonderful at including text in which the reader knows when someone is using ASL with Coop or speaking slowly and enunciating so he can read their lips. This adds a nice, realistic touch to the story. The amount of love and support that is included in this work by Nic, Coop, and their families makes my heart flutter and makes me wish I was a part of the story too. Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. Cooper and Dominic
Dominic wasn't looking for love, after the death of his husband of one month. He was quiet happy just working his job as a Butler on a luxury ship. When his brother and soon to be wife wedding approaches the book it on the ship. When meeting Cooper, Nic is drawn to the guy only not sure which side he played for was a challenge he was coming to realize he was interested in.
Cooper had become a recluse after his accident which left him deaf. Now with his sister's wedding, Cooper finds himself looking at Nic with more then an artist eye. With no real friends
Nic just may fit the bill for Cooper.  When feeling of friendship turns to more for Coop, how will coop feel about that? Never being in love before must less with  another man. Can Nic take a another shot at love or is some wounds to deep to heal? This was a  book of love knowing no bounds different or not, everyone deserves to be loved.

Usually when I finish a book I delete it from my library. But there are books I don't, the ones I really love and know I will want to read again, and this is one of these books!
Nic's husband died and he doesn't think he will ever find love that will match the one he shared with his late husband, until he organizes his brother's marriage at the cruise he works on and meets his future brother-in-law, Coop.
Coop lost his earing in an accident and his girlfriend along with it. He thinks he will end up alone, although he's a famous artist. Then he meets Nic, who wants and finds a way to communicate with him. Coop always thought he was straight, but Nic finds a way into his silent world and his heart.
I fell in love with Nic and Coop and this is a truly amazing love story. When I finished the book I just wanted to read it again!

Nic and Cooper both have grief laden lives. Nic is a butler on a cruise ship and Cooper is an artist and deaf. They are brought together for their sister and brothers wedding aboard the ship. Neither are willing to fall in love. Nic feels unable to go on with his life after his husband is killed. Cooper's deafness keeps him wrapped up in more than physical silence, not willing to give anyone the chance to leave him because of his deafness. Their gradual pull, first into friendship and then gradually to love is a beautiful story of two men trying to decide to give life another chance and give someone the love that they have in their hearts. Tears are shed...including my own as I followed this story that was both entertaining with MCs that are engaging and strongly developed by this author. I highly recommend this book for a good read. I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC book.

Love on the high seas!💋

Ever time I read a Jerry Cole book, I think, " This is my favorite! "
"To love again," actually might be. This story was so wonderful to read. The romance was nice to get lost in without all the angst.

I loved the closeness of both families in the story, and the support offered to our MCs, Nic, a young widower and Coop, who is deaf. There are so many layers to both Nic and Coop and through his wonderful story telling, J Cole removes the layers slowly, so the reader can enjoy the journey alongside the characters.

There seems to be an almost classic movie romance vibe throughout the whole book. A delightful read, that I recommend to anyone looking to get back to some warm-fuzzies. 💖

I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

This is a sweet story: nothing new, but nothing irritating to take away from the gentle story.

A widower who works on a cruise ship meets his brother's brother-in-law, who is a deaf artist, and they slowly fall for each other.

Nic is afraid to love again after what happened to his husband, and Cooper is afraid to love because he feels his deafness will be too much for a partner. They meet on the cruise when Nic's brother is marrying Cooper's sister. This is a very slow burn kind of book, and I was okay with that. There's a little steam, but not until past 50% (if I remember correctly - I actually finished it a bit ago). There's really no angst, thank goodness.

If you're in the mood for a slow paced courtship, then this will work for you.

This was such a sweet story and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It tells you of two people, Coop and Nic, who learn how to cope with loss of Husband and loss of hearing. These two men met on a cruise organised by Coop for his sisters wedding. They became good friends and subsequently became lovers. This journey from strangers to lovers is written with so much knowledge of love and compassion it almost feels as if one is there to live the story with them.
