I am a writer, at least trying to be, that has finally concluded that this is what I want to continue to do with my life from here on out. The reasons for this are many: 1) Writing relaxes me in a way that nothing else ever has. 2) I get to create an imaginary world populated with characters that are as confused, anxious, scared, brave, heroic, and evil as I am or sometimes want to be. 3) Writing is amusing and frustrating—a great combination. 4) I love creating something out of nothing. And so on and so on. My genre of interest is mystery/suspense/murder with a touch of thriller and horror thrown in for good measure.
I was born in Ohio in October 1974. After graduating from high school in Indiana, I wondered around the states for a few years playing in bands, you can check out some original music on my blog, before joining the Army as a satellite communications technician. I spent two years with the 101st Airborne, thirteen months in Afghanistan, and two years in Alaska before returning home to Indiana. I was diagnosed with Agoraphobia and Bipolar Manic Depression some years back, and that has opened my eyes to a whole new world of introspection, thought, and way of life. I stay inside a lot with Serica my cat and sometimes walk around the lakes surrounding my house taking my camera and trying to catch some of nature’s beauty and stillness. Of course, I love to read every chance I get, and I am always looking for that next great story.

The Book “Lost in Between “is written by G,Edward Smith is a Short Poetry Book. The book is well written with limited words but has a strong impact on the readers. The writer chooses a good way to express the young girl`s lost expression of Life, Pain, Hope & Death. It felt like she is sitting near the ocean and the waves crashing against the shore and allowed her to speak as loud as she could. The Poems aren’t interrelated but when you start reading them you felt that sometimes she is escaping the past, or sometimes she is taking herself on the other side of the world. It`s a good little classical read. I really enjoyed his transparent writing style.
Recommendation

I would definitely love to recommend this short poetry book to all my fellow who is really interested in reading something sweet and sour at the same time.
Thank you so much to Book taster and The Author for providing me with a soft copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is compose of short poetry which contains lines that will make you think of your life even though it is short. I love how it made me feel the strong emotions in some parts and made me think about what will happen to my life as time pass by. I specifically liked the “Goodnight Little Ones” since I imagine my self as a child with dreams of knowing what the world is like and to be myself all the time. Words can hardly express how I love this book and now I’ve read it like 3 times already, reading at least 2-3 poetry everyday made my day. Thank you Booktasters for giving me the chance to have a soft copy on this book!

The poetry collection is nice and comforting like a breeze.

My favourite among them are :-

Why do you come close, as if to embrace
The meaning for most - is the wish to erase.

For you this I wish, that you shall never miss
A dream that comes true by just being you.

You will see me once more
Yet I am no more.

Waking through the madness has left its mark
I live and breathe with a blackened shattered heart.

This day, this moment; a life a fulfillment
Your eyes are the way forever I will stay.

PS: "The Empty" is the best poem (atleast for me)

Have you ever felt the words written on a single page move slowly towards you as if they have the intention to make you grasp them but instead reach out to you in the end?
My goodness! I have! The words written in this book embraced not only my mind but also my heart. I was totally in awe while reading this book. All the worries I had was replaced by such great colors as if I am sitting on a rainbow, watching the clouds turn grey, white, and blue. My, my, I would recommend this book to anyone!

As the book cover suggests this is a poetry from every corner of the soul. I think this is a good poetry book to read in a short span of time. Initially few chapters were opaque to me as the author have used some rigid language to elicit his thoughts but then I started reading it with rapt attention to understand the author's imagination.
All in all I like the book.
Thanks to the author for sending me a free copy of this book.

The poems are very well written, they described death and souls in a beautiful way. I felt every poem and read each one more than once. I loved how the poems spoke about each topic differently without repetitions. My favourite would have to be "This Wanting". I would highly recommend reading this book.

I love this analogy and the word of choice this author uses, its very touching and also very sad, it talks about death and in between the soul. I highly recommend this book!

The book is great for classical poetry with its solid use of rhymes and metaphor, however you might find it a bit boring if you’re a fan of modern poetry not the classical one.

Failed to relate nor understand most of the pieces, rendered me speechless. There's room for improvement though, especially on the rhymes.

Reading Poetry May Bring Instant Joy As You Skip From One To The Next But Doing A Serious Review Doesn’t Come Easily At All. In Comparison Doing A Book Review Is By Far Any Day Easier Once You Drown Yourself In The Flow And Allow Yourself To Drift With The Current Soaking It In. Simply Because There Are Very Few Books You Come Across That You Actually Want To Read Again And Again To Grip The Finer Nuances That You May Have Have Missed The Last Time You Read Or Reread The Engrossing Book That Forces You To Keep It At Hands Reach.. Not Knowing When The Urge To Reread It Strikes Again.
But Alas Poetry Is A Totally Different Ballgame Which You Cannot Take For Granted Because One Poem Maybe Poles Apart From The Last One Or The Next One For That Matter.
Sure They Would Be A Flow But In Which Direction Is Something That Could Leave You Stumped. It Is This Surprise Element And Direction Of Flow Is Like Water Coursing It’s Own Path..Never The Same At Any Two Times As The Poet Could Be Penning Their Thoughts In A Different Frame Of Mind And Thus The Reader Could Grasp Something That Changes From Poem To Poem.
Having Read ‘Lost In Between’ By G.Edward Smith Twice In A Gap Of A Couple Of Days Apart The Gist That Was Grasped Was So Absolutely Different That One Could Not Help Pondering If One Had Actually Read The Same Book Twice Or Were They Actually Two Different Books By The Same Author/Poet?
A Collection Of 27 Short Poems That You Can Skim Across In A Single Sitting Or Read It One Poem At A Time Soak In The Finer Nuances And Then Move On To The Next That Could Actually Be Poles Apart From The Last One.
At First Read I Would Not Blame You For Concluding That This Collection Of Poems Comes From The Rambling Of An Unsure Mind That Seems To Be Drifting Without Any Sense Of Direction.
But Once You Get To Read The Poet’s Profile At The End Of The Book The Mist Clears And You Actually Look Upto G.Edward Smith In A Fresh Light And With Lots More Respect As It Only Then Soaks In What He Has Done For His Country As A War Veteran With A Tenure In Afghanistan Followed By Another In Alaska... Two Ends Of The Spectrum That Left Him Grappling With Agoraphobia & Bipolar Manic Depression. When You Read ‘Lost In Between’ Keeping His Profile In Mind Suddenly His Book Takes On A Totally Different Dimension And Respect Is All You Feel For His Creativity Inspite Of His Trying Circumstances.
If Only G.Edward Smith Had Pasted His Profile Where The Preface Normally Is There Would Be An Instant Connect Between The Readers And Him As The Fog Surrounding His Creativity Would Disperse Almost Immediately And The Read Would Be Framed In A Totally Different Dimension.

Lost in between is a book that compiles twenty six short poems for the soul. This is one book that each poems needs to be read and savored slowly before moving on to the next one as each poem speaks directly to your soul when read with rapt attention.

The book is well written and I totally recommend you read about the author at the end of the book before you start
reading the poems just so you know where the author is coming from.

Lastly, I enjoyed the choice of words and its usage and would have liked a little more word play but all in all the author did enough and it turned out to be a great read.
