As a hellhound beta, Solomon has no complaints. Life is fine. His pack and his goddess-given duties as a protector of the human realm are enough. So what if he’s a little bored and a smidge lonely? Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. When his alpha’s mate suggests he pull his head out of his ass where one of their human pack mates is concerned, Sol cooks up a scheme to break through the wall between him and Cody, but it comes at the worst possible time.

Cody is convinced the bar he works in is run by a group of elite mob enforcers. Nothing else makes sense. The funny thing is: he doesn’t care. They treat him well and he’s come to consider them family, but like any family, there’s always someone who stirs up trouble. For Cody, that’s Solomon, the bouncer who is constantly glaring at him from the back of the bar. Something is going on, but Cody has a new distraction in the form of an anonymous online lover who knows how to push all the right buttons.

A magical attack causes havoc for their pack, dragging Cody into a world he didn’t know existed. His new family is involved in a much more dangerous life than he could ever have imagined. Hellhounds and humans must join together to stop a terrifying creature hell bent on raining destruction down on them. Solomon and Cody must step up and fulfill their destinies, or risk losing the one thing they desire most: each other.

With the potential for MPREG looming on the horizon at any moment, I began reading this next book in the series with a healthy bit of caution, but I can happily report that NO "BUTT PUPPIES" prairie-dogged their way out in this story.

However, when Sol and Cody did finally begin connecting (over an online app), I could've really done without all of the Daddy Bear feel, which a lot of readers will undoubtedly find hot, but only made me want to take an extra hot shower. Not really my jam at all.

The thing is, though, Sol knew precisely who Cody was on the app, but Cody had no idea that he was talking to Sol, his co-worker of several years, which squicked me out and felt kinda skeevy -- especially once the dick and butthole pics started flying around like so many mosquitoes on a muggy, summer night. Gah!

Fortunately, things got MUCH better as the story progressed; although I did feel that Cody's "voice" tended to sound shockingly-similar to Drew's from book 1, just with a touch more... desperation?

I really enjoyed the Attack of the Flying Killer "Ass Wangs" (snort) toward the end of the story, and how many times that my beloved Ollie and Ben made appearances in this book. For me, their inclusion got the book another whole star rating. : )

I'd rate this one at 3.75 stars and am looking forward to digging into the next in the series.

As with the first read, when they finally get their heads out of their asses, it's good lol.

Originall read March 2019

I enjoyed this as much as the first one in this series but for different reasons. I'm a huge "true mates" fan, but I'm very picky and expect certain things from true mates. One, is they are drawn together and want to be together. And while Cody and Sol are drawn together initially, they've known each other for years and never pursued anything with the other. As a matter of fact, Cody actually tried to get with Shaq in the beginning, but he turned Cody down🙄. So, from that aspect, I was disappointed. Not to mention, Sol had to see Cody's behavior and wanted him from afar but never got the balls to act on it. Again, disappointed. BUT when they do get their heads out of their asses, I loved them as a couple. Cody is snarky and funny. Their conversations sometimes, cracked me up. And there was definitely some HOT, HOT, HOT chemistry between the two and some pretty smoking dirty talk🔥🔥🔥.

I enjoyed the overall story arc as well and how it ties in with The Chosen One series. I'm really looking forward to more of these Hellhounds finding their "one" and how they are all going to defeat the big baddie.

Utterly brilliant I love Cody and Sol

Oh my word things really are kicking off in the Chosen Universe.

I'm so glad I checked the reading order for the whole intermingled series' otherwise I'd be all over the place by now!

This one is a bit more slow burny but I loved the sparks between Cody and Solomon from the start.

There's nothing more fun than two people who are attracted to each other snarking because they're not sure what to do about it.

This book was hilarious at times too, as well as tension packed, and I appreciated that it was lighter on the smexy times given the serious nature of what was going on.

My favourite part of this book was Cody. I just loved him!

At first I didn’t get what he and Sol’s deal was but after they started getting closer, his real personality began to show and I absolutely loved it. His mind was such a funny mess and I could totally relate (super serum soldiers anybody?) LOOOL!!

Sol was great as well under all that grumpy snarling mass of hellhound instincts. His relationship with Cody was great to read about and though the feels were a bit sudden, I totally believed in them.

There was a lot of plot movement in this one with major battles being fought which also further moved the whole story arch along. I still want to know where Meshaq and Drew disappeared to though... i feel like it will be integral to the whole thing.

Next is Nick’s book? He’s Sawyer and Mikey’s brother who we know next to nothing about so I’m also hoping to see great plot movement in that one as well

I'm really enjoying this series and the Chosen One series. My only issues are:

1. This got confusing at the end with all the characters. I'm not sure if I was supposed to know who all they were because I didn't remember, if so.

2. I'm not exactly sure why there are 2 different series since they are so interwoven in plot. You really have to read them both, IN ORDER, to keep up with the over-arching plot.

3. I've not been able to find how many planned books there are for these series but it's starting to drag a bit and I hope there aren't that many more until the plot is revealed and solved. Too much of a "good thing" turns out to not be so good.

I think I only have one more book left in this universe :(

This was exciting.

I ended up liking the pairing but had huge reservations at first.

On to the last book! Well, the last written book.

Pretty good but I don’t think as good as book one so far.

This world is a crazy ride and I am glad that I hopped on! I do wish that there was a little something more with Cody and Solomon.. idk I felt like there was something missing at the beginning of the relationship..but maybe if I reread book one then this book I wouldn’t feel that way… haha oh well maybe next time.

I am excited to read book 3 though since I’ve already read “Magical Mate” series (well all the books that have been released) but Nick and Jedreks book is next and the “Magical Mates” series is their pack and I am pumped for their book!!

Love the Chosen world, each book and each character makes you fall in love even more. Also that Ollie cameo!!! His is the most anticipated book I have for this world and idk when that is going to be released… maybe next year!?🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Interesting way to move the story in this series and the Chosen series forward. I'm not sold on the hellhounds as whole (for what they do, I don't get a ruthless enough vibe from them) but I do like their choices in mates so we'll see where this goes until I just can't anymore.

Macy Blake can write a sex scene.

Reread 2023
Enjoyed it more on the reread - I liked Cody's playful side

Reread 2020

Ended up a good addition

3.75 ⭐️

I enjoy this authors work and I like that the two series intermingle. I didn’t read the newest chosen one before starting this one.

It took me a while to get into this one. I wasn’t a fan of the whole online sexting that happened. It was a good plot device to get them actually talking to each other, but I was just bored and seriously considered not finishing. I’m glad I continued as it picked up once they got together and it was out in the open who was who.

I enjoy the characters in this series and really enjoyed that even though Cody is human he is considered pack and his reactions were mature and not used as a plot device. When he first found out about Sol he was scared of the beast but once he recovered he was nothing but helpful to Sol and his cause. When it got dangerous he left with no hysterics so Sol could focus on what he needed to do.

I’m now looking forward to the next instalment and I hope it branches out to some of the other champions as well

I love the world Macy has created for the supers! Have read all her books and this was as good as rest of her work!
We have read about Cody in Book1 who is not a shifter and has unknowing become a part of a pack. Sol is second in command of the pack and always has difficult showing his feeling for Cody. The supernatural world makes few more changes in this book.
It's defiantly not a standalone book. You not only need to read book 1 of this series but also The Chosen One series (if possible) to know that Omegas have become uncommon and rare over the centuries.

I really enjoyed this one - it was a bit longer than the first one and therefore got more storypoints from me

the relationship was very well done!

but the "pack" development is a bit strange - hopefully there won't be much more changes in the next book.
I would have enjoyed seeing all the charcters from the first book

This is one of my favorite tropes - when the two MCs talk online as well as in real life. I always love how it plays out and how the big reveal is shown.

I really love this series and the group of characters and couples.

Hm, I liked it more than the first one because until the final fight it read like a stand-alone story. Still light and with a nice humor, so perfect for a weekend when my mind doesn't like to get overwhelmed but is in need of some easy entertainment ... of course that only went until the end fight. There it was obvious that the Hellhound Champions are not really a stand-alone series. To truely enjoy it you have to know The Chosen One or simply ignore that suddenly the author pretends that you know a lot of characters by name when it's the first time they appear ... but somehow I was able to ignore that, so everything was okay.

Hellhounds

Unlike the book before this one (please follow the timeline when reading this series, it makes so much more sense) these two did not immediately get together. It wasn't until the omega showed up that Sol and Drew were able to feel their connection, with the help of sexting via an app. Those interactions were hawt.

This one did not really focus on the relationship, it was more world building, showing what was happening during the same time as to what was happening with the chosen one. Which is why in what order you read this universe is important.

Cody and Solomon made a great couple. Cody cracked me up when he was was trying to figure out what Sol and the rest of them where; from mob enforcers to super soldiers. Drew knew there was something there & did a little pushing. After a bit, Drew & Shaq leave & we don't see them again until the end. Now Sol his to step up & run things for his Alpha. We have some nasty bad guys, Aswangs who are not easy to kill, especially since someone has given them some magical powers. We still don't know who they are or why they are doing what they doing. We have a battle where other paranormal's come together to fight and follow Sol. Sol did an awesome job leading them, just like his Alpha would. There are some changes that will be going on & I can't wait to see where this goes.

Oh, Macy Blake and her Chosen One universe. There's just something the world and the characters that she's created that just make you want more and more and more of them. Really, I can't get enough of them, and I've had to reread them more than once, just because they are so good.

Solomon is the second in command in the hellhound pack. When Meshaq is gone, he takes over. Cody is a human bartender who works at Meshaq's bar, and Solomon has always been intrigued by him and vice versa.

The chemistry between these two is fantastic. I love Cody, I really do. He's got a very good heart, I think, and is a lot stronger than people might think he is, but there really is a spine of steel and a strong sense of responsibility and duty there.

Solomon is a very honorable and good man. He's also occasionally oblivious, but still, good and honorable. He's also fierce and protective. I don't think there is anyone better for either of them than them, if that makes sense.

4.5 stars.

I like this series so much, and this book just solidified it for me.

Cody as a character has just the right amount of snark making him hilarous while not being over the top. Sol grew as a person in this one, and I was really rooting for him.

On the plot side, there was a really good balance between romantic plot and action plot so that it can satisfy a reader with preferences aywhere on the smut-plot spectrum.

Highly recommend it (after reading Hell on Earth, of course.)

Book Two of Hellhound Champions closes some more of the gaps that The Chosen One series left. But it also left questions about the supporting "Champions" that the three Goddess sent to and them against that darkness that have left their world and ours out of balance. I wonder can we get a backstory on them. I'm curious about them.

Also after everything is said and done how will the Champions fell about their Goddesses?

A Joyfully Jay review.

Once again, Blake weaves all the storylines together to take the reader on a journey of love and action. This series must be read in order, and works best when also read in order with the larger universe. Fortunately, the author has compiled all the books in three volume sets that provide the order chronologically so everything fits together seamlessly.

So first off, I liked this story even better than the first, and I think that’s largely due to the MCs. Solomon is a badass, a caretaker, and sometimes painfully awkward. The combination is endearing and wonderful, and Blake does a good job of letting us really see his thoughts and feelings, so the reader knows without a doubt where he’s coming from.

Awkward. Took a while to warm up to these two. The dating app was awkward and a little stalkerish. I liked how they got their act together. The ending for his one felt a little sudden.

5 Hellbent Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

So what do you get when you cross a sassy bartender with a grumpy hellhound? One hilarious shifter romance filled with snarky oneliners, dirty pics, late night sexting, lots of growling, and a happily ever after that's sweeter than jelly-filled doughnuts!

I adore Macy Blake's storytelling. The way the Hellhound series and The Chosen One series play off each other. I especially love that the Hellhounds get their own story series, as the champions of the Goddess and protectors of the supernatural realm.

The love between each couple or group (TCO) in each story is wonderfully portrayed. Lots of laughs, some angst, hurt/comfort, fighting an enemy, etc.. All the things you look for in a good story.

Can't wait for the next one! 💖

“Holy great fire goddess in the sky, that means you’re like ancient, doesn’t it? Wow. This is like a May December romance on crack. "~ Cody

My book quote confession:
While reading the above quote by Coty to Sol, I may have laughed so hard, I spewed coffee from my nostrils and tinkled a bit... MAY have!

The giggle-snorts are real, people!😋

Ahh I loved it! ❤️

description

🔥 Sol and Cody were a perfect pair. Sol was strong and protective. Cody was determined and also brave. Sol was trying to take care of Cody but couldn't put it in the right words. Cody got annoyed that Sol was always scowling at him. But when they had time to get to know each other better, sparks began to fly. I absolutely fell in love with both of them. ❤️

"HellBent: Pics?
HellBent growled at you.
HellBent: Fuck. You’re perfect."

🔥 The story was great too! Chatting through an app created such chemistry between the two. And obviously I also loved the whole "I don't like you or want to talk with you" -thing they had going on in the beginning of the book. This is why I was so hooked to this when their relationships began to change. This book had action, mystery and hot hot romance.

Oh my gosh! I love this series!!! In the last book, we saw a ton of tension between Sol and Cody, and they FINALLY get their heads out of their backsides. lol This series is running in the same general timeline as the other series (Chosen One), and it is cool to see how it all works together. The characters are the same and the stories run together. So cool.

Sol has had a crush on Cody for ages but always stayed away because he thought Cody wouldn't be interested and he didn't want to rush him. Cody always just thought Sol hated him. When Sol finally makes a move, it was hot and adorable all at the same time. Cody had no clue about the paranormal world until about halfway through, but he took it all very well and was a perfect match for Sol. I loved their banter and connection.

So good but so frustrating!

This story is a piece of a larger ongoing story arc that is frustrating the hell out of me! I want it all now!! In the listing of the author’s books it appears to be part of a separate series but it isn’t ...they are all part of the same story arc which we see referenced a few times here. So while each story is separate it will make much more sense if you read all of them, in order.

Solomon and Cody are fun characters that we did meet in the earlier hellhound book. The growth of their relationship is fun but the real story for me is the growing intrigue in the overriding story arc. “Something wicked this way comes” is a good way to sum up the feelings that have been playing out through the last couple books. I’m looking forward to the next book.
