SM Stryker is an Amazon international bestselling author who writes emotionally charged romance and romantic suspense novels that dive deep into love, trauma, and healing. An Oregon native, she draws inspiration from long drives, quiet walks along the river, and the rugged beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

By day, she’s a dedicated mortgage broker—organized, focused, and driven. But by night, she steps into her alter ego: a storyteller who weaves gut-wrenching, steamy love stories that aren't afraid to explore the shadows. Her characters are intense and unforgettable—survivors of heartbreak, betrayal, and trauma who learn to rise, heal, and love again.

Each of her stories is rooted in truth—some inspired by real events, others by the silent battles many face but never voice. Through powerful storytelling, SM Stryker gives those struggles a voice, reminding readers that even in the darkest moments, love can be found—and it can be life-changing.

A wife, mother of four grown daughters, and proud grandmother, she writes from a place of quiet reflection and fierce empathy. Her dream is to become a New York Times bestselling author, not for the title, but for the chance to reach more hearts and share stories that stay with you long after the final page.

Though introverted by nature, she deeply values connection with her readers. You can find her at www.smstryker.com, where she shares updates, sneak peeks, and exclusive content for those on her mailing list.

Because sometimes, the love you weren’t looking for is the one that saves you.

She has shared more of the events of her life in many of her other books.

I had the pleasure of reading the original version Stolen Innocence. Below is my review from that copy. I have edited the review to remove irrelevant pieces from the beginning but aside from that this review still fits as I have also read this version and love it just as much.

The thing I loved most about this book is that it didn't just give you a story line, get to the biggest parts of what happened and then leave it there. This book had a good solid beginning middle and end. No cliff hanger. Even other books with no cliff hanger don't leave you so satisfied. Without giving away the details, the basics of this story, a young girl experiences some terrible things and sets out to make something of her life in relation to that as soon as she is old enough. As most know, one bad experience is never the end, the difference is how you deal with each bad experience and who you have with you to help you through. In this story the girl Parker happens to accidentally find a young man name Ian and they seem really taken with each other. But like with any bad experience it's hard to escape your demons and there is the possibility that the person you find can't deal with your demons and who would want them to. In this story we follow her experiences with and without Ian and see whether or not she overcomes all the obstacles placed in her way. It's a very great written story and a great read. I highly recommend.

Wow

The was a story with some tough story line but SM made it real and gave is real advise while telling the story. Child and adolescent sexual abuse is hard to talk about and hard to see unless your looking. It’s a gutsy subject to make such a huge part of this beautifully written soulmate love at first sight story. I love that even with Parker’s horrible times she was able the feel and find true love and happiness. Ian was truly an amazing man who loves with his entire being when finds his soulmate and he stops at nothing for her. SM thank you for this.

Starts with Parker dreaming and she wakes up realizing that she turns 18 today and all her plans of moving out of the house so she leaves. Parker lost her Mom 5 years ago and her adoptive father started sexual abuse her after and she started planning to move at when she turns 18. Parker runs into Ian but ran from him before he can get her name . Parker does this a couple of times before Ian finally gets her name and ask her out. In this story you learn how Parker deals with all that has happened to her. I recommend this book !

Emotional, and Intense.

This is my first time reading any books by this author, and this was an amazing intro, to a new author. This book was so well written, and the characters had been through so much is this story, and she writes about such disturbing subject matter in such a delicate way. I really enjoyed this book, it was very emotional, heartbreaking, dramatic, gripping, and twisted. I highly recommend this book.

The author does a very good job with this dark and emotional storyline. I suggest a box of tissues is kept handy whilst reading this story. It’s intense, heartbreaking but also has hope. If you are after a fluffy romance this isn’t it, if you want a book that shall draw you in and make you feel then this is the book for you, just be aware that due to the subject matter there may be some triggers for some readers.

This is an emotional story about a young girl who goes through so much after her mother passes away. This author took on a tough subject and wrote it so great I had to break out the Kleenex. I loved that Parker found Ian and how great he was for her. This is a well written story that pulled at my heartstrings with believable characters and a great ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

WOW. This was a very deep and emotional story. It reminded a lot of Hopeless from Colleen Hoover. This was my first read from this author and I will definitely read more. I loved Parker, she was such a strong girl. You will need tissues for this.

This took me about a week to read. I was so into this book I could NOT put the book down! There were so many twists and turns and the relationship between Parker and Ian was so cute!! The ending words of the book hit me so hard because I went through something and it was like it was talking straight to me. I can’t to get started on the audiobook!

DNF

Poor editing. Tenses always mixed up, timeline confusing and the doubling of every chapter (her view and his view of the same scene) was annoying. Then her reaction / response to her big reveal of childhood abuse and his actions was too childish so I quit then.
