When stagnation threatens the future of her beloved island, 30-year-old mayor Holly Baxter goes head-to-head with the community’s elderly retirees. With secrets swirling, family drama brewing, and an ex-boyfriend hanging around, can Holly find a way to save her slice of paradise?
Her best bet is to allow a reality show to film on the island, but not everyone is thrilled to have cameras and prying eyes on Christmas Key. In fact, one of the locals is more than happy to let her know how he feels about the situation, and before she knows it, Holly is defending her choices in front of the whole island...
The first two books of the Christmas Key series are filled with romance, possibility, and family drama. The accompanying novella Coco's Story brings Holly’s family history to life. Stephanie Taylor writes a romantic comedy series about a fictional island called "Christmas Key," as well as several other standalone romance, YA, and middle grade titles.
Christmas Key grabs you from the start. Beautiful island, lovely community and of course, romance. The characters are quirky, but true to who they are. I recommend this book series. You will want to go to Christmas Key!!
Well. I liked the first story because it was engaging and different. The relationship between Mother and daughter was strained and awkward. I didn't care for the hot and steamy parts but they weren't too graphic. Interesting family dynamics for sure. The other characters were very interesting and so was the premise of Christmas Keys. I am not sure I will read the other stories although I would like to see Coco get some psychological help. Her story was disturbing to me.
This book had a good premise/plot. It was a bit predictable in places. There was no resolution at themed of the books, and Coco's story was background only. Again, no resolution I prefer books with an ending.
No conclusion to this book, I would skip it if I were you.
As stated in the clomment, there is no conclusion in these books. Its long winded and quite frankly not worth the time it took to read. I loved some of the characters hence 2*.
Fantastic series couldn't put my kindle down. Would highly recommend you read these books. Just starting book three can't wait to find out what happens next.
Got this book for free on Amazon and had low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised by the character development and overall flow. It was a fun holiday read and will read more by this author in the future.
This is a nice easy weekend read when you just want to relax - makes you long for Sun and sand with a dash of cocktails.... so yes do read this either poolside or beach side.😉
Christmas Key Island took a bit of staying power for me to finish. There are just too many contradictions, and issues for an island that needed to be self sufficient, yet owned by three people. The main character is an over achiever who is rather wishy washy. Thanks for the read. Throw water on the mother.
This was great! Christmas in the Keys of Florida, all year round. I just wish a boxed set counted as the three books that are in it - okay, in this case, probably 2 and a half.
