... The rock god and the pop princess.

This is my second book by this author. My first one was Saving Barrette, a sports romance. And so far, I loved everything she's written. This book is about the life of a rock and a pop star. There was no playing safe. No softness. No glossing over. The author simply brought us into the world of a rock and a pop star. And I tell you honestly, it was sheer heaven and hell. The cover of this book also deserves a special mention. The model of that cover feels like the exact image of Revel Slade. I will give all the stars if I could only for that cover.

Note: This is an enemies to lovers, celebrity romance.

“Your heart makes my favorite sound,”

Reading this book was a frustrating and emotional ride, in the best possible way. Revel slain me. Although he evoked conflicted feelings in me at times—his name really suits him—he was a compelling and a memorable character. Revel was without any question one of the best and convincing bad boys I've ever met. You will hate most of the things he was doing, that's no doubt. But when you eventually come to understand him, you will hurt for him.

Watching Taylan grew throughout the book was a sight that filled me with awe and adoration. I loved that she knew how to stand up for herself. I also loved that she was able to handle a man like Revel. And I loved that she never stopped fighting to reach for her dreams against all odds.

“The way the world sees you will change, but never let yourself change with the image they create for you.”

Revel and Taylan were total opposites. But together, they had such profound chemistry and the attraction between them was palpable. They were excellently developed as a couple and seeing them grew as an individual was awe-inspiring. Their road to healing and finding themselves was full of heartache, but these two found something they thought was impossible. Love.

Overall, I loved the book. Revel and Taylan were everything and so much more than I thought they would be. Aside from them and the unique writing style, the songs carried this story for me as well. My favourite song is Roses of Revenge. The lyrics of that song is chef's kiss. So beautifully written and meaningful. Actually, I did some experiments adding chords on that composition. It went beyond well.

I recommend this to those who likes: Shey Stahl, celebrity, enemies to lovers, slow burn, forbidden, second chance, music, emotional read, and a happily ever after.

*3.5* It was perfectly angsty, melodramatic, rock star bad boy, and pop star princess dynamic on point.

Mild spoilers in rest of review below:

I really enjoyed the first half of this story. The chemistry was perfect, I was not so patiently W A I T I N G for them to get together and it was going to be explosive! But then when it finally happened...what the hell was that? It was oddly violent. He was actually biting and drawing blood, and she was like 'ooooh fuck me like you fuck everyone else, show me what a monster you are'

Yuck. What even was that? It was the best buildup and awful crashing letdown I've read in a long time. It felt like she was using him, like everyone else had done his entire life. Yes, he was a raging drug and alcohol addict, not to mention the thousands of women he'd been with, but still.

I honestly think that began his downfall.

The best part of this story was his growth in rehab. I've never heard a character take SUCH OWNERSHIP of his own issues before and it was really beautiful. I'm so sick of the victim mentality that usually accompanies stories like this. The 'I had a bad childhood, my parents didn't want me, I grew up in foster care etc.' He OWNED his addictions. He admitted, he put the bottle to his lips, he snorted that coke and he used all those women for what they offered. How refreshing!!

Overall, this story hit a homerun for the first 50%, crashed around 60% and then gives this less-than-excellent ending with a chapter that is three years in the future and we have no on-page healing between these two. They were even married and had a kid, she was pregnant again and we didn't get to experience ANY of that?!

If you're going to pull my hair though this kind of angst, at least give me something at the end for it all.

Oh, wow.
It's been a while since a rock star trope story got under my skin.
And colour me surprised, it's an MF.😱

Revel took me back to 2013 when I started my GR life and used to read one great book after another. Good times where I knew nothing about book slumps. *dreamy sigh*

Angsty and intense, Revel is a solid read that seems underrated.

I wonder why people are not reading this?🤔

Buddy reading with Tzelina and Anna

4,5 ❤️❤️💔❤️🌟🌟🌟🌟❣️❣️❣️❣️

This was not a romance read!!!!
This was a rock star story through and through!

Revel was THE rock-bad-boy-star with a lifestyle full of sex, drugs/alcohol and rock & roll. He was very talented but had a really bad reputation.

“I don’t drink to forget. I do it because it’s an addiction and I crave the feeling of numbness that comes with it.” Revel

Tragically broken.

“I push people away because it’s easier than apologizing for being unlovable.” Revel

But when he fell, he fell deep and hard for Taylan...

Undoubtedly an awesome not ordinary rockstar read! 🤩
The cover was simply perfect❣️

This beautiful revel was so broken and my heart couldn’t stop aching... It was such a good read.
What held me back from 5 star rating was that it really had a slow pace in the begging and although I liked their deep-rooted thoughts were revealed, there were too many.

All the stars and then some. I loved Revel and I'm not ready for this book to be over. Can I have another couple hundred pages please?? 🙏

Be warned.....it’s long and there are a ton of quotes. So many great things in this book and I just had a hard time editing down the review. Sorry :)

Review:
”Just because he didn’t love me the way Prince Charming would have, doesn’t mean it wasn’t real.”

“You’re in my blood. Every pulse and heartbeat is for you, Red.”

“I’m so fucking sorry for the shit I put you through, but I’m a better man for what you did for me.”

Characters
Revel (24, front man for the world famous rock band Revved):
The following words/phrases were used to describe Revel: liar, avoids things, shields his emotions, doesn't like talking about personal stuff, thinks his music is great and rather arrogant about his musical talent, mean, cold, asshole, doesn't follow rules, doesn't like people telling him what to do, doesn't conform, anger issues, rude, sexy, shy, alcoholic

Some quotes about Revel:
“Let me give you a little background on the bad boy rock icon. DUIs, drug addictions, hookers, alcohol, assault… it’s all part of his rap sheet.”

“I push people away because it’s easier than apologizing for being unlovable.

“All my decision-making was taken away a long time ago. When you’re the hottest band in the world, you have little to no say in what direction your life goes, let alone your day. If you’re in the music industry and you’re making money, there’s a good chance you sold your soul to the devil the moment you signed on the dotted line."

“he’s the worst—the charm, the sideways smile he offers, the wink, the words; He’s… Lucifer.”

“Revved is about pushing limits, redlining. Rebelling. No laws. A brotherhood. It’s us against the world, and though we don’t make the rules, we break them and love every fucking minute of it.“

“Everyone he’s ever let in has either left him or destroyed him. That kind of attitude doesn’t just happen overnight. It happens when you’ve been pushed too far.”

“Equal parts charming and volatile, there’s no doubt Revel’s an American rock legend with his iconic rough growls and jaw-dropping vibratos.”

Taylan (aka Princess, aka Red) (21, famous pop star):
The following words/phrases were used to describe Taylan: innocent, pure, naive, feisty, insecure, likes to prove people wrong, doesn't like to be told what to do, modest, beautiful, humble, stubborn, intoxicating, talented, strong, determined

Some quotes about Taylan:
“I’ve been under public scrutiny since I was three years old. Three. From that moment on, thanks to my dad owning his own record label, Hollywood owned me and everything I did. If they didn’t, the record label and my dad dictated everything else.”

“Most days I don’t know who I am. The only certainty in my life is that day in and out I know I’m lonely.”

“She preaches about female rights, never reveals too much skin and probably baptizes babies herself every Sunday—she’s that goddamn pure.”

“I hate my life most days. I play the part because I have to.”

The Story:
The quintessential bad boy of rock has to go on tour with his total opposite, a pop star princess. Their dislike of each other turns into something much more powerful as the tour progresses.

”The king of rock and the princess of pop, have yet to thaw since their interaction at the Grammys, but in news leaked hours ago the pair are said to be headlining the One Vibe tour that includes seven rock, pop, and country bands on a worldwide tour over the fall/winter. Insiders are saying it’ll be quite the show with Slade’s frequent outbursts on stage.”

“Every time you open your mouth to tell me off, all I can think about is shutting you up with my cock shoved down your throat.” 😳😳

“she’ll never understand what it is that draws the two of us together. I’m not her playmate. I’m her monster.”

But with Princess, I’m not just falling, I’m falling into something different, a new kind of beautiful, and I don’t have the energy to keep pushing her away. I’m drowning, and she needs to walk away because she’s the type of girl who’d jump in to save me.”

My Thoughts:
The following are my thoughts about this book:
- These two are so incredibly opposite that just the thought of them together was highly anticipated.
- Revel had really swoony moments and really asshole moments. I had a love/annoyed/love/adore relationship with him.
- I loved when his "honest" moments showed up. A vulnerable Revel was a damn sexy Revel. ❤️
- I really wanted Taylan to be a little more confident around Revel in the beginning. She appeared meek and way too innocent during all their early interactions. He always seemed to have the upper hand which didn't result in good/fun banter. In the early part of the book I thought her character was too weak for his strong personality.
- I liked how the POV included the reader at times. It felt like the H/h was directly talking to me. Example: “Isn’t my mom beautiful? Long silky blonde hair, bright-blue eyes. . . Do you notice my mom’s dress?”
- Example: “Do you notice the quick gasps of air I’m taking in and the way I can’t seem to get enough of it? I’m on the verge of a panic attack”
- The emotionally tortured hero is my kryptonite!! I love to see the love of the right woman heal his soul. ❤️❤️
- Slow burn to get to the bedroom scene, but I was ok with that. It fit for the story.
- Liz's "come to Jesus moment" with Revel was great!! “I want you to appreciate your life and that the world doesn’t owe you a goddamn favor. News flash, they don’t. I get it. You didn’t have the ideal childhood and that’s where all this stems from. It’s what makes your music so influential, but buck up, bitch”
- ”It’s Over”. Omg....no. Clutching my heart 💔💔
- Yup....I was right there with Taylan 😢“At first sight, when his face finally comes into view for me, tears roll down my cheeks.” Oh, the emotion of them finally together again. Gah ❤️
- There were a gazillion awesome, heart tugging, poignant, words/phrases in this book and my highlighter probably dried out by the time I was done underling and circling "important" things.
- The H/h had depth and both took huge strides in the area of personal growth. The way in which the story was written was perfect for the reader to understand the characters and the reasons behind their actions and to be the cheerleader as they fought to tackle their demons.
- “It’s not over.”. Oh, thank god!!! Whew. ❤️❤️
- I experienced all the feels: anxiety, nervousness, outrage, awe, irritation, anger, disappointment, excitement, joy, heartbreak, love.
- This is a new to me author and I was impressed. I’m definitely going to be searching through her books to find another story to get lost in.

Overall:
- POV: dual POV, but with a bit of a different writing style as I felt like the character was talking to me sometimes (see above examples)
- Tropes: rockstar, enemies to lovers, addiction
- H likable? in the beginning he was so rude that sometimes I just wanted to punch him. I don’t know where it turned, but OMG I fell in love with Revel 😍❤️
- h likable? Yes. She seemed immature in the beginning but she just needed to find herself. In the end, she was so strong. Loved her too.
- h virgin? No
- First time they kiss: 46%
- First time they sleep together: 67%
- steamy? Yes 🔥
- OW/OM drama? there’s a couple exes around, but they don’t cause mistrust issues between the H/h
- H/h cheat? No
- Did I skip pages? No
- Big secrets? No
- Did I cry? I shed a tiny tear when they finally reunited. So happy!
- Did I laugh? no. It’s pretty intense
- Cliffhanger? no
- Epilogue? 3 years later
- HEA? Yes❣️
- Recommend? absolutely!! So good

Quotes
“You can only withstand the glare of the spotlight for so long before you crave the relief of the shadows.”

“Here’s some words of wisdom for you. Be afraid of the calmest person in the room.”

“If that fucker was any more plastic, he’d be Tupperware”

“even villains have a story to tell.”

“I’d rather reach for the fairy tale than be drunk, alone, and bitter.”

“The best things in life are never planned. It’s the unpredictable that makes it worth it.

“Sometimes walking away is the greatest act of love you can give yourself.”

oh boy...

Well, I can honestly say that Shey Stahl is an author dear to my heart and I cherish her work cause she always brings a one step forward from the well exposed and used topics and tropes.

And this story, I have to say i took my time reading it....and that statement has a load of gravity on its own....I needed time to process the afterthoughts that just kind of immeresed beyond the superficial stage these characters palyed on...and the pacing of the storytelling simply enhanced the time needed to fully take it all in.

I didn't know WHAT to expect but I was EXPECTING it...in one way or the other...
so when I say that the usual equation of "bad boy rockstar meets sugary pop princess on a joint tour" aka enemies to lovers trope is only a facade for an unbelievably profound and insightfully deep story of self-discovery and self-improvement on one figure that was molded into smth that others wanted for the further gain and on the other side there's a total destructive, broken person that doesn't appreciate the gift and the talent he has...

these two utterly different people, who couldn't be more different from the outside, find something unique in the fissures of their own lives, masked under the pretense of the music industry, false imagery and lies...

it's a tough and cruel world to prevail and surivive in, unless you are NOT yourself or NOT giving a shit...one is hiding her true self under the detaily crafted PR image as she plays a music sweetheart pop princess and the other one is a brash, crass, disgustingly rugged, not giving a fuck, rockstar with immense imagery power on the mass (but with unyielding vocal talent as well as the one of a songwriter) who takes out his unrelenting anger out on everyone and seeks his answers in a bottle and drugs and faceless groupies....yet he's harbouring a true pain of his broken childhood, young adulthood and he can't find the true way back to himself until he tastes the innocence of the unspoiled and untarnished...yet still unlived
We're broken and belong to everyone but ourselves.

these two will Rev you up...they will break your heart along with their own, until they find themselves again...they are Revel Slade and Taylan Ash
When two people are menat to be, distance and time don't exist. They'll find their way back to one another

I can’t believe I made it through this book without my kindle catching fire!

Wowza!! The chemistry between Revel and Taylan was scalding hot and so incredibly passionate and full of feeling that my heart pounded with every single interaction.

There’s something about the tortured, lost, mean beautiful and broody Revel that just makes your heart ache with the desire to “heal him”.

He was so broken and in some ways so was Taylan, and to me, it seemed they recognized this about one another and it’s what drew Revel to Taylan like a moth to a flame.

This was an angsty slow burn read filled to the brim with emotion.

Completely unputdownable and guaranteed to tug on your heartstrings till the very end!

Geez Louise! This book killed me with all the angst.
Shey Stahl has an unbelievable talent of pulling you into the story to the point that you are living the characters lives. I was so deep, into the characters psyche, that I didnt know where they ended and I began. Mind boggling? Yes!
Revel is a great book. I loved the writing style. The storyline flowed easily and I was biting my nails the whole time. Do I recommend this book? Absolutely! So happy reading.

He was a jerk 80% of the time, said horrible things about her and to her face. He walked a line between abusive; obsessed and in love ; caring!

She was young and for someone that was raised in that life she needed a thicker skin!
Hated the way she kept drolling about him after the things he said and done. The way she begged for him to have sex with her...

To much Drama...

And then did she give up her career to follow him on tour and have Kids?!

THE COVER IS VERY GREAT LIKE THE BOOK ITSELF! WOW JUST WOWWW AND OMG OMG OMG.... THIS BOOK GOT ME ALL SMILES AND LAUGH AND RELIEVE... and mostly, in love with the whole story!

- HERO IS A ROCK STAR AND HEROINE IS A POP SINGER. They both have to be in a tour together and since then the relationship between got good...

- THE HERO AND HEROINE LIKED EACH OTHER FOR A WHILE BUT STARS TO PURSUING AND “knowing it was real thing that they felt” when both are constantly meeting up and get closer in the tour...

- THE HERO IS OTT POSSESSIVE ALPHA MALE omg

- MANY JEALOUS SCENE FROM THE HERO
EVEN WHEN THEY WEREN’T OFFICIAL... omg😍

I lost count on how many times he got so jealous because he always so jealous and EVEN GOT VERY POSSESSIVE TELLING THE HEROINE THAT he was very mad to any guy she’s been with before him...

- THE HERO WANTS THE HEROINE soooo bad...
It stars to get so strong when the heroine and hero are constantly seeing each other on their tour...

- I LIKED THAT THE HERO IN HERE EVEN THOUGH HE IS A BIT DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH AND ALWAYS MEAN WITH HIS WORDS WITH ANYONE... He make it right with the heroine when the heroine first work with him on day one. He never makes her uncomfortable... HE TELLS HIS FRIENDS ON FIRST DAY THAT SHE WAS MINE! OFF LIMITS ONLY ME...

- THE HERO ALWAYS says You Are MINE!

- DO THE GROUPIES ALWAYS SHOWS? NO....
BIG FAT GIANT NOOOOOOO....

- WHEN THE HERO MEET THE HEROINE AT FIRST ON THE TOUR BUS THAT they suppose to meet, in was not a good scene. The hero have a bl*wjob from someone else when the heroine saw him... I MEAN THIS IS BEFORE THEY DATED SO its okay i think. Also the heroine didn’t make a big deal of this.

- NO CHEATING!

- NO VIRGINS

- IT HAS TRIGGERS like drugs and drinking from the hero and the whole band. But not too much tho...

- EVEN THO THE HERO LIKES TO DRINK CONSTANTLY... He never goes to any other girl beside the heroine herself.

- THE HERO ONCE has someone just immediately sit on his lap and the hero push her away fast. AGAIN THIS IS ALSO BEFORE THE HERO AND HEROINE DATED but i just want to write it here lol.

- IT HAS DRAMA... Drama with the heroine’s dad but not too annoying... DRAMA WITH THE OW because the OW was the hero’s ex and cheated on him but have to be on tour with the heroine and hero as well. She cause some drama but only 3 times i think and IT WAS NOT ANNOYING OR TOO MUCH AT ALL... THE OW didn’t argue too much with the heroine, only once. THE OW arguments is always with the hero because the hero always mean to her when she’s around like walking in front of him like that. DRAMA WITH OM~ THE OM is the heroine’s ex too and as well a musician. He cause some few drama with the hero and heroine but not too annoying... IN THE END THE HERO AND THE OM FIGHT OVER THE HEROINE because the hero saw the om tries to grab the heroine and kissed her when she didn’t want to. They got into a big fight. DRAMA WITH GROUPIES? NO... DRAMA WITH BANDMATES? NO...
ALL THE DRAMA IN HERE WAS NOT too ANNOYING...

- IT HAS SEPARATION. When the hero have to go to rehab for his own sake because of his drinking. The heroine have to say its over when she knows its not. But she’s doing it for the hero’s own sake... THE SEPARATION LAST FOR A YEAR ONLY.
DURING THE SEPARATION THE HERO AND HEROINE NEVER EVEEER WITH ANYONE ELSE OR EVEN TOUCHED ANYONE ELSE... BOTH ARE VERY LOYAL! The hero constantly thinking about the heroine... he even said he obsessed with the heroine. (This also makes me give it a 5 stars because like wowww) 😍

- HOT SMUT SCENES

- SAFE LOVE STORY

- HAPPY ENDING 😍😍😍 3 years later and cute epilogue... they have a daughter and so cute!

🌐🌐🌐➡️↘️⬇️➡️This is my own personal thoughts and opinion about the book so if thats not sit right with you or you feel I’m not being fair blablabla, please know that everybody in this world have their own different things that they like and don’t like. It may not be the same thing with you but thats okay because i am my own person and you cannot control me or tell me what to do. For example; i put ketchup (tomato sauce) on my fried chicken. You think that’s disgusting? For me its not and i’ve been eating it like that for many many years. You tell me to put another sauce and see if i like that better? I already did many many times in years but i still like the way i like it. It’s called differences between me and you and billions people in this world😊 be open minded😙 I respect people’s opinions about my opinions but in the end of the day if i say I don’t like it or i do like it, its up to me and its on me. And in the end of the day i always liked and show my respect to books and people’s opinions on books whenever that book is good or not good in my opinion 😊 Respect people’s opinions guys😙😙 I don’t want to write this down because its not really my thing to do it. To like address something like this when obviously i know the people who’s been reading my reviews many times and all the time, they are smart enough to understand and respect other people’s opinions no matter what their opinions on book or their point of view 😙😙 am i right? 💕 also there are people even though i already write “this book is different because i have my own taste of book” those people still comment my taste is this and that when HELLO… everybody have their own thoughts on books and what they want to read… why i read it then? I read it and give it a review because i have to read a book to give it a review… why not read the description book to understand before I’m going to read it? Hello just in case you haven’t notice, description books can be tricky because they write this amazing things about a book but turns out the story is so toxic. Maybe for me its toxic but not for you? YES HELLO THATS WHY US HUMAN BEING HAVE OUR DIFFERENCES, WHAT I LIKE IT DOESN’T MEAN YOU WILL LIKE IT AND EITHER WAY TOO. why i still write the review then if i just don’t like a book? Because I CAN and i want to, you cannot tell me what to do and not what to do🤪 if you still wants to be negative and be karens about my review on book after all of what i just write, i will never acknowledge you and simply ignore you because its not that hard🙏 YES MY GRAMMAR IS BAD SOMETIMES AND MAYBE ALL THE TIME BUT LUCKILY MANY PEOPLE CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT I’M SAYING🤪 ⬅️↖️↕️⬅️↩️⤴️

This book is all about the writing. The words, the message they convey, the way imagery and feeling are laid out in perfectly written sentences. It's all just magic.

Stahl takes the most foul mouthed, drunk and high rockstar and makes him someone you root for. Revel is so broken but all I did the whole book was hold my breath that he could be redeemed.

"My life is a play I'm not part of. I'm sitting in the audience like everyone else, waiting for the next scene...This is what happens when you follow your dream to make art, but it
comes with a price. A price I never wanted to pay. A price that will always be to high."

Taylan is the pop princess who looks like she has it all, but she's living a lie. A life made up by those around her. She's lost herself in stardom.

"I never craved a sin like him, until I met the real Revel Slade and he showed me what his tasted like."

Rev and Red. Opposites. Raw. Broken. Damaged. Hurt. Soul mates.

They are all of this and more. This book will take you through the highs and lows of stardom and you will feel it all. There is no mincing words or actions. Love, betrayal, addiction, fame. Its all laid bare. But beneath all that are these two characters with so much chemistry and heart you can't help but hope they can make it.

I will admit, in those first few chapters I didn't know if Revel could capture me. He was harsh and mean and cringe worthy. But he crept in there and I devoured this book in one day. It was that good.

"Every once in a while, a singer will come around who can transport you into another world with the power of their voice in such an effortless manner you don't even realize it's happening. Until you're breathless. Until you don't even realize you're crying."

Change singer to author in that quote.

Stahl may have just been writing about herself.

Seriously, all the stars!!!! I’m so in love with this cover!!😍😍

I discovered Shey late last year, and I told myself, read all her previous books and future books. She has a way with words where you literally could see everything happen right before your eyes. I love love love her writing.

Revel doesn't give a crap about anything, well at least he wants people to think that. He hides behind this persona, but some of its true to him. He is broken, a little lost, super intense, craves silence, craving the life away from stardom. Taylan is touring with the rebel, but she knows there is more to this guy than what he shows. It was such a heart grabbing story where he had to figure out himself, and boy it was so good reading his journey and the difference to living life with and without Red.

This story had allllll the intense chemistry...oh goodness. Slow burn but when they got together, WOWWYY. Loved their story so much. Shey knocked it out of the park with Revel's story!

❤️Red and Blue💙
BOOK HANGOVER ALERT y'all!!!
Holy heaven and hell!!! I'm still trying to understand where Shey Stahl came from. But I'm pretty sure, she is NOT from this planet.
Let me start by saying...What an amazing book Revel was!!
Like, seriously. I've never felt so conflicted about a character as I am with Revel Slade in my entire life.
The hate-to-love and love-to-hate relationship I have with this incredible character is something I'd never expected. FOR REAL!

Super talented, rebel to the bones, mean without an effort and sexy as a dark chocolate ice cream cone in the summer; Revel Slade is EVERYTHING your parents warned you NOT to have as boyfriend material, and honestly, the guy doesn't even try to be one either lol
But there is more behind all that mask he wears to show the world. And Taylan Ash is not that afraid to discover who really is the RockStar God everyone talks about.

To be my first book by Shey Stahl, I can say, I wasn't disappointed in the least. With a well written storyline, unforgettable characters, deep analogies, funny moments and a rollercoaster of emotions; Revel is by far one of the BEST BOOKS I've read on this year. And I can assure you, it won't be the last I'll read by this author.

Revel, will leave you breathless!!!
But be warned, this is a ride YOU WILL NEVER FORGET.

You probably weren’t surprised I read the volume. Those who read my blog, or just know my instagram life, know how much I love rock star books, and I felt like I had to read Revel. Already, I decided when I saw the cover, because in vain do many people say not to be a naked guy on the cover, Revelé is pretty sexy. Then I saw those two words being rock king and pop princess and I felt like this book was written for me and it really is. I loved it incredibly, and it’s typically the volume that either takes you off your feet or you don’t like it at all. It’s very divisive, yet it’s beautiful in it.

The writer starts with a Little Red Riding Hood quote, and I knew back then that I would love it. And yes, rude, sometimes cruel or just filthy, but in the meantime, that’s also the secret to Revel’s success. He is not afraid to be outspoken, he is not afraid of reality, and there are no taboos before him. As for his heart, his mouth, and I greatly appreciate in the writer that he was so honest under the volume and did not look for excuses, but cut reality in our faces and did not shy away from the dirtiest details. Although it starts out as a sexy volume, it has a lot more in it. Don’t scare anyone back with the cover or just the ear text, don’t give God a negative opinion, as everyone likes it differently, and it doesn’t matter if you have a different opinion than the majority. Revel is a full-blooded rock star romance, with all its charms and flaws. He knocks taboos, talks openly and boldly about problems when he has to get there properly, but it’s worth reading because he also teaches something by the end. It shows that it is never too late to change, it is never too late to make the right decision. Yes, a little toxic, but it can’t be all pink and miraculous. Sometimes we also need to see what the darker side of life is like.

The story itself tells the love of Revel and Taylan. Revel is the frontman and founder of the Revved band, who never despises booze and drugs. He’s not exactly the sweetest person, dangerous, cheeky, violent, unpredictable, dirty-mouthed, yet you never know what he’s going to do next, as he’ll surprise or even upset you. I liked this unpredictability in him the most, as he was able to keep my attention all the way through, and if he sometimes pulled me down, then it helped me rise again.

Through it, the writer shows that continuous bad decisions can bring good to a person's life, but if we want to keep this good, we have to change it, and sometimes it doesn't hurt to admit the problems to ourselves, and for no other reason. , but we want to fight for ourselves and be better. Taylan, the pop princess who has been living in the spotlight since her childhood, is controlled by her father, and who is lost doesn’t even know who the real Taylan is. Through it, the writer opens new gates, encouraging you to dare to step in and show who you really are.

We all know that the security bubble will never last long, and one day it will burst anyway, and Shey Stahl points out through Tay’s character that it’s not necessarily bad, and in most cases it is necessary to find ourselves and that who we really are. From Revel’s and Tay’s perspective, we can witness a tense, victim-ridden, toxic relationship that can unravel for many, but Revel is much more than that.

Thoughtful, slow burn romance, with a passion and a war of emotions. I personally really liked it and from the beginning to the end it took me completely off my feet, I became a real addict who couldn’t wait for another dose and who was unable to get under his influence. Revel and Tay’s story is not the usual rock star romance one is used to. It’s so much more unique, coarser, and cruel, but with each line, the volume shows that it’s really worth continuing and finding out what the fate of the rock king and pop princess will be.

Trigger warning: the volume contains traces of violence, blood, and addiction. Read at your own risk! If I really wanted to look like something, I’d say it’s like a drug, once you get it it’s hard to stop it and the quitting process becomes torturous, but it’s worth throwing yourself in because after the volume, nothing will be the same. I particularly loved in the volume that he presents the bad boy in his natural medium, shows him as he is, and does not try to convey false information to us.

DNF , lots of telling , no showing. Not my favorite style of writing when the characters feel like they’re talking to you . Also neither of the characters are likable

Amazing!

This book was recently recommended to me by a friend who I share a mutual love of this romance genre, Rockstars. Wow, what a fanastic story and one of the reasons of why I instantly loved it so much was that the story was told by the two main characters sharing their own points of view as if they were speaking directly to the reader. The writing was so unique and different, making me feel like I was right there with them, feeling disappointment, heartbreak, hard won moments of happiness- the good times and the bad. It was almost like they were confiding in me throughout. I'm not sure if I've ever read anything like this before and I loved every crazy bit of it!

This method wouldn't have been so exciting if the story wasn't there to back it up, but yes indeed, it truly was. Shey Stahl is a new author to me and I couldn't have loved her writing style or the world she gave me more. You could feel everything the characters felt and thought, they told you everything that was on their minds and in their hearts. Revel, brooding, broken, bitter badass lead singer with a huge chip on his shoulder, seems to hate the world and everyone in it. Taylan, Pop Princess, beautiful, innocent, controlled by her manager father, molded into something she never signed on for from a very young age and looking for a change. These were the complex and unforgettable characters that I'll still be thinking about for a very long time to come. Their story had me wondering what would happen next and how much angst I would have endure with as they had me hanging on every word about the truth of their lives, trapped under the microscope of their own fame. What an emotional ride and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. If you love an amazing love story that just so happens to include rockstars with all the ups and downs, baggage and drama that often comes with them, then this might just be your next book. It does have a great HEA, although your heart might stop a few times getting to it. Highly recommend this one.

Revel's wooing skills...are...well... They sure are original, “every time you open your mouth to tell me off, all I can think about is shutting you up with my ***k shoved down your throat.” Revel is a very territorialman, "...breathing against my neck, he whispers, “No one calls you princess but me.” I liked this book, I fell in love with Revel, the man was tortured and I kinda liked it.

Starting this with a quote from the book which is unconventional for myself but seems fitting with this book....
"I was broken from the beginning. And I should leave you alone, but we both know I won't." It seems fitting because this is what the relationship with Revel and Taylan (Red) (Princess) is all about it seems.
I liked the way the author wrote this story in parts she's interacting with the actual reader and the characters are actually speaking to us. I liked it even though you are like "what??" how are we supposed to know that her assistant looks beautiful in that dress and then the author or character goes on to tell us what that person is wearing lol....a bit unconventional but please tell me more.
This book had everything I want from a RockStar genre read that's for sure. I mean we got the badboy lead singer of the top Rock Band "Revved" going after the Pop Princesss. It's rock-n-roll, drugs, hot AF sex scenes, alcohol abuse, innocence, misunderstood, and the understood all in one.
Loved the songs that were explained and the lyrics that went with it....we had some jealous ex-boyfriend, and ex-girlfriend and a POS father to deal with too.
We as readers that love the RockStar genre books know that you can only read so many Rocker books and some start to read like the others but this one wasn't the case it was unique in it's own way. I mean Revel is constantly trying to push "Red" away...."Don't bite the apple, Red." but then in a next breath he's saying the words..."Your heart makes my favorite sound." I mean really myself as a heroine or character would be totally confused right?? I think poor Taylan is confused for most of the book, but it's done so brilliantly.
One last quote for this amazing read and here's the kicker of all quotes in this book and that it sums it all up so here goes...."You're in my blood. Every pulse and heartbeat is for you, Red."
Oh and I forgot to mention this amazing cover for this book it's what drew me in to begin with, then the blurb (synopsis), the actual story was the clincher and it was so good.
I'm leaving one more word that made this book so worth while to read and that word is "Navy" hmmmm....I bet your confused. Well read the book lol!
I highly recommend this book!

My review is about as complex as this book. Sure on the surface it's bad boy rocker and pop princess, anyone that reads rock romances has read this before, except this version, I haven't. There were many things that I didn't like, for one, the first 30% of the book was like getting stuck in quicksand. Revel our bad boy and Taylan the Pop Princess literally narrate their story, they are "talking" to you and even at times asking your opinion but once you wade through all that they are trying to prepare you for what's down the road. I admit to being annoyed with Revel, he tries very very hard to convince you about how fucked up bad he is, but there's little substance to back it up. At First. Here is where I thought Ms Stahl was almost trying too hard to label Revel and his band Revved the badasses of them all, but when actions finally took over is when you saw it. My other pet peeve was continuity. The story takes place mostly with a tour of the US but some of the places didn't match up to what you were being told. Now I get this book is 50,000 + words but little things like that had me rereading some chapters. So why 5 Stars?
Well because there is a really good story here. The chemistry between Revel and Taylan jumps off the pages, all of it - the ugly, the bad, the hot and yes the love. Revel's pain is so real that you do see beneath all the BS. Taylan is not a simpering victim (thank god) she can and does hold her own. She too is very believable and a Pop Star that doesn't have me rolling my eyes is a wonderful thing.
Some of Revel's behaviour may piss off some readers but that's a plus for me, it keeps him real throughout the book. What really cinched the 5 Stars for me was towards the end about the last quarter, the Hinder song Better Than Me came through my mind while I was reading - Loud and clear. And that my friends convinced me that this book deserved 5 Stars - even with all my issues.

Revel
Shey Stahl

description

"I’m more like Taylor Swift and Mariah Carey bred a redheaded freckled-faced pop princess. I write songs about young love and my dream world that’s nowhere close to reality. They write about death, sex, drugs, women, and suicide. A world I’m completely unfamiliar with."

A Rockstar Romance that full of emotion, learning to let go and believing in fate.
