A celebrity chef joins the cruise to promote his latest book—which means cooking classes, book signings and special dinners. And, if all goes well, a potential new job for Adrienne!
Unfortunately, all does not go well…
When the new cruise director’s friend turns up dead, Adrienne’s new job is on the line, and the glamorous cruise turns into a PR nightmare.
Adrienne scrambles to uncover the truth with the help of her friends Samantha, Cece and First Officer Hot Stuff—er, First Officer Ethan Lee.
But with a killer on the loose, it’s not just Adrienne’s new job that’s on the line—it might be her own life that’s at risk.
This is the series I read while cruising and I’m going to have to take more trips so I can read more books. I really like the characters and the stories are a lot of fun!
Another fun cruise with Adrienne and the crew! This time it's a Celebrity Chef cruise with cooking classes and demonstrations. Sounds like fun until someone gets murdered. Adrienne just has to look into it and winds up almost getting killed herself. Very entertaining cozy! I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Another enjoyable book in this series. More is discovered about the friendships that were begun in book 1. Will the crime spree of a second murder lead to another revelation as to the killer is? Or will it lead to the death of one trying to investigate? So may possible to be guilty. So few that may survive the truthful reveal. Just be careful to stay away from the pools. You just might get wet!
A good read but really not as good as the first. The plot was just too OTT with motives and suspects whilst the characters just seemed a tad off from the first book. Okay we all want to better ourselves but she was willing to ' sell her soul to the devil ' to do so. Frankly I thought the main character had more integrity and moral standards for that (at least that the impression I got from the first book). A new cruise and she's been assigned to make sure that only the most positive aspects of life and the celebrity they had on board to shine through. A celebrity chef who was going to give demonstrations and classes. His wife however was acting like Cruella de Vil on speed. There was a stalker involved too and the personal friend of the Director. A murder, a poisoning, attacks and a falling out are just some of the antics that occur. But will they lead to the killer?
Once again, I read this book solely for the cruise setting, but the details can be a bit frustrating. In the previous book, Ethan Lee (Is Lee his surname?) explained how the ship could track all movements through usage of the ship's card, so why didn't Adrienne tell EL that someone had been in her cabin again and ask him to find out who it was? In the first book he raced to her cabin when she called to say that someone had been in her cabin and he immediately checked it out. The mystery of the postcards could be just as easily solved. And surely with all the monitors that we have seen surveilling the entire ship (minus the VIP section) how is it that the Adrienne and Cece were not caught when they searched the captain's cabin? The area around the bridge would be very closely monitored.
In spite of the fact that I believe these books were each written in an afternoon, they are still enjoyable reading for someone who is cruise deprived.
I'm really loving this series as I get to know the characters even better. I liked that Sam was in the action more this time, but it was still Cece that Adrienne went sleuthing with. I really like Cece--she is one crazy girl! (good crazy). The trio makes me think of a little older version of Nancy Drew and her pals.
The showdown was pretty exciting and gave a new use to a pool noodle. I'd had the killer in mind as the killer most of the time, but as usual didn't know the complete reasoning behind it. I can't wait to dig into the third book. The mystery of someone taunting Adrienne with "I know what you did last summer" still was hanging on, and I have a feeling it'll keep going. I thought the new captain acted a little strange about different things, like he wasn't the usual Captain Stubing type of friendly, so maybe the next book will have more on that too.
Adrienne works on the Swan of the Seas cruise ship, along with her friend Sam. Adrienne basically does social media and is asked by the new Cruise a Director, Beverly, to promote the celebrity chef she has brought on for this cruise. Her friend, Sam, is asked to be the liaison between the Vince DeLuca and his wife, Meredith, and to coordinate the special events and classes surrounding them. Oh yes, and they have to protect Vince from a stalker, Olivia, also on the cruise. Sounds simple enough, but then there’s a murder; and Adrienne, Sam and their friend Cece, from housekeeping, get involved in trying to solve the murder! Come along on this crazy cruise and watch the fun and shenanigans unfold!
A celebrity chef. A cruise Ship. A mystery. When the cruise director's friend turns up dead, Adrienne's new job is on the line and becomes a PR nightmare. With a cast of characters, Samantha, CeCe, First Officer Lee.
So many memories surfaced. I was a Navy cook onboard two different ships, USS Kitty Hawk and USS Joseph Hewes. Took me to the decks of each. The plot, entertaining and page-turning. The characters, entertaining and interesting. A fun read.
Rating: This is a humorous cozy mystery featuring a strong female protagonist, some unusual friends and family, and a mystery that needs solving! It has no graphic gore, bad language, or sex.
The second book of Adrienne's cruise adventures, with a new captain and new cruise director and another body. Adrienne's and her friends set out to solve the mystery whilst they are still at sea. This is turning out to be a super series, likeable characters, believable plots and plenty of food, what's not to like? A good clean cost mystery on the high seas. I was lucking to receive an advanced reader copy but would happily buy this and any of AR Winters books. Thoroughly enjoy her work and thoroughly recommend.
A very enjoyable read. I would continue to read about the characters that work on a cruise line the swan. I enjoy reading about former journalist , Adrienne , who took a job on the cruise as social media , but continued to find herself and the cruise security ex-navy seal, security solving murder with the help of her friends, ce ce, and sam.
Adrienne is back with a new murder to solve along with her best friend Sam and their new friend Cece. A celebrity chef is on as the headliner for the cruise and things start out well until a passenger who is friends with the cruise director is murdered. Her relationship with Ethan the first officer continues to bloom. Was a fun read and I look forward to reading the third book in the series
Though being only the second book in this we series, I’m definitely a big fan. Adrienne has the sleuthing bug and she’s good at it. Her friends are hilarious, the things they get into definitely add the humor. She has a very slight romance brewing and I enjoy their scenes together. The mystery was great and I loved reading it!
I really enjoy the light reading of cozy mysteries, especially when they involve Cruise Ships. I particularly enjoyed the humor laced throughout this book. I enjoyed AR Winters style of writing and the characters involved. If you like Cozy Mysteries, I highly recommend this book.
Very enjoyable cozy mystery. There are a few twists and turns which keeps it interesting but it isn't suspenseful or greaphic. Adrienne is the Social Media Manager on a cruise ship. She gets a new boss Beverley who is the Cruise Director. They have a celebrity chef on board and his domineering wife. A young lady on board is murdered. Adrienne and friends need to figure out why. Quite enjoyable!
This definitely wasn’t as good as the first one and nothing progressed with Adrienne’s personal mystery. Having a second cruise director be unhinged was a bit much. It was very unclear on how or why Adrienne wanted to go work for the DeLuca’s who were absolutely insane.
Another silly cruise story to continue this series. Just wondering if every cruise with Adrienne involves a murder. If so, I wouldn't want to cruise with her. I might continue with the next book in the series if I need some cruise entertainment again.
I enjoyed the second book in this series. It was fun getting to know the characters & I thought the storyline was different & kept you guessing who until the very end!
Okay, I'm addicted to this series. Didn't think I would be but the writing draws me in. I did figure out early on whodunit but didn't predict how it would all evolve. A fun read.
Who ki0lled the pretty passenger and why? Would the media person leave to become a pretty person for the celebrity chef. Read thus book to find the answers.
Beware -- once you start reading this book, you're going to want to finish it so you can find out who-dun-it! A fun book about the cruise life, from the worker's point of view. Great writing and a nice clean read. Thank you, AR Winters!
I enjoyed the book with it's fun cozy read. The friendship with cece and and Sam along with the budding romance with Ethan was a refreshing look at along with murder. I am enjoying AR Winter's books! Brenda Sage
I started this series because I desperately miss cruising. The characters are simplistic. The story line reminds me of the Love Boat meets Murder She Wrote. It's fun and easy reading...
A fun short read about a murderer at sea. Adrienne is the social media manager on board a cruise ship, but fancies herself an investigative journalist. So when a passenger dies on the cruise, Adrienne begins to question passengers and crew members alike.
Really enjoyed this book. Keeps you guessing to the end. Many stories woven together. Looking forward to seeing how the all play out. Recommend this series so far.
Can't get to the beach? This book, set in a cruise ship, will help make up for it. Colorful characters and a plot to keep you guessing. You'll be sad to finish the book.
Fun premise. Likeable characters. Surprisingly I figured out who the victim was and why they died, though I did not figure out the rest. Plenty of excitement on that cruise. Good read
