A clever cat faces down unspeakable horrors in this unique Lovecraftian series.
You’d think that the cat who saved Kingsport (and maybe even the world) would be able to rest on her laurels—sit by the fire, play with some yarn, and lap up bowls of cream offered by grateful humans. Hah!
Instead, Pumpkin Spice—that extraordinary Maine Coon and witch’s familiar—has spent the whole spring evading disaster. And that's before the king of the ghouls reveals his secret: the effects of the Dark Yule are far from over.
Someone besides Pumpkin Spice escaped that night intact, and that person’s very presence has awakened another creature. A creature long-hidden and forgotten, in a realm neither here nor there, but determinedly clawing its way to our world...
Yet even that pales in comparison to the other evil that has been summoned to Kingsport—an evil pursuing Pumpkin Spice herself!
R.M. Callahan is an author and scriptwriter who is frankly glad she can't See That Which Cannot Be Seen. She currently lives in the Land of Blue Dragon (Vietnam) with her husband Linus, two rascally children, a Jack Russell, and a brown cat that bears no resemblance to Pumpkin Spice whatsoever.
I love Pumpkin Spice and her feline friends. They’re such great characters and so realistically cats. The events of the first book continue to cause trouble for Spice and she comes to regret having anything to do with the Dark Yule. I enjoyed the new obstacles Spice had to overcome and the enemy of my enemy is my friend storyline. She is one fearsome cat!
Pumpkin Spice is possibly the busiest cat that ever lived. When she's not saving the world, she's saving her family - or doing both.
When Morwen goes into labor with her second child, Spice realizes that something has gone horribly wrong. Before she can help Morwen, she's taken by the ghouls to solve one of their problems. With one setback after another, will Spice be there in time to save Morwen and her baby?
This is another delightful book in the Pumpkin Spice Tales series. With a great cast of characters, a fast plot, and dark horrors, this was an entertaining story. Thoroughly enjoyable.
The second book in the series continues the harrowing adventures of Pumpkin Spice and her friends as she tries to save her human, Morwen, in a place that has magic, dreamworlds, and ghouls. Another wonderful book!
I loved it just as much as the first one! The ending leaves you hanging, but not in a bad way, and I already bought the third book, so I actually don't have to wait. 😃 I like that we got to learn more about the ghouls in this one. I was curious about them.
