This is a love story with a big twist - or two ! Romance of the best kind with villains/the good guys/bad boys/good guys... the characters in this story are so delightfully twisted to a degree, some seeming more normal than others, but are they?
I at least really loved to read this story, but would really hope the author had a better editor. In all of the stories I have read there are quite a few (numerous) typos and word mixings, mixing of present tense and past tense withing the same sentence and more of the sort. Perhaps it is only in the ARC versions? I hope so but because of all of the errors I cannot give more than four beautiful stars, but this story, had it been a bit better edited - it would most certainly have gotten five stars, and those are really hard to come by with me.

Pain for Guilt
This is the third book in this series that I have read. They are all definitely dark. This one was realistic, because the female character was swamped by guilty feelings about killing a couple 💑in a hit and run accident. She only felt relief from these emotions while receiving severe corporal punishment. In the whole series, all the women were tortured souls. They were also masochists. I also thought that the author did a better job describing the male sensory experience better than the female experience. I only gave it four stars, because there were so many typos and even some wrong tenses with verbs!😯 Maybe it should only be three and a half. Please take the time to proofread your manuscript. It would make it much easier and more enjoyable to read.

These just keeps getting better and better. If you don’t like dark romance, this is not for you or the series. This continues or entertwines with the previous book so you get the other side in a way. Sometimes you have to embrace your darkness, find forgiveness, and accept that love is different for everyone. For Madison, it meant having both men with her. This was so good. I’m only disappointed there was no epilogue and can only hope it’s because there might be another book in the series? A girl can hope.

Intriguing, dark romance
This is a great read. I'm enjoying the Descent into Darkness series. They are standalone stories but intertwined with the others so it helps if you read them in order but not necessarily required.
Madison Snow is a former child star. 2 years ago she did something horrible and was never punished for it. That's about to change. Viggo is the best friend of Carter, the man she wronged, and he's going to help Carter get his own justice. In the pursuit of justice some other things are found, forgiveness & love. I'm anxious to see where this intertwined story goes next. I have an idea of who could be the next characters and can't wait for more.

This book was pure self-discovery with a lovely dark edge. The main characters come together because of circumstances that everyone can do things that are not always good. It reads wonderfully and the chemistry is good. The rest of the story was also easy to follow. I myself have read the other parts, that made it easier, because it all plays in the same world and continues. From me 4 stars, I very much enjoyed this part again.

Kelly is really outdoing herself with these dark romance books , they captivate you from the beginning to the end with the great storylines and even greater characters in this book we have Viggo and Carter the time for revenge and retribution has arrived , Doll face/Madison did something in her past when she was 16 and it was a mistake , but now the men are going to make her pay , but at what cost , a fantastic read with a very Dark theme , one to read

A mistake in her past leads to revenge in the present. But does she really deserve this treatment?
This is a dark romance with all that that entails. The story is quite intense, with some dark moments and lots of twists and turns. If you like intense drama with strong emotional ties between the characters, than this one should be right up your alley. Just be prepared for a sleepless night until you finish it.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. It's a quite dark novel starring 18 yr old Madison Snow, aka Doll Face developing a mega Stockholm Syndrome... Since she made a fatal mistake 2 yrs ago Carter is in agony. Viggo tries his best to help his best friend staying afloat, but time is literally running out... The story is a rather interesting one since you get to re-meet the characters of the first book in the series, but it's a little too much also - the changes of mind are a bit hard to keep up with. Nevertheless it's worth your time.

The scenes in this book were intense. I was engaged from the beginning. Some scenes were hard to read though as I thought the punishment was a bit over the top given the circumstances. The emotions bled through these pages as the story progressed. I thought the author delivered this story with a bang by slipping in flashbacks in perfect locations within the book. It added depth and created understanding of their actions (both theirs and hers). An intense story that pulled the reader in from the beginning.

WOW This book is so powerful. It had me gripped to each word from the very first chapter.
If honest this book left me speechless on one side and the other side wanting me to shout from the top of my voice how brilliant this book was. This was a complicated BDSM revenge story. Carter and Viggo have a chance to seek vengeance against Madison, but she's wrapped herself up in so much darkness that it was hard for even those two to find a way to help her. I like a good complex character, and I thought Madison's was one of total despair, but I wasn't truly convinced she had found her way back at the end. I felt the pain/pleasure chemistry in the middle of the story, but towards the end, I thought there would be more obvious feelings of love, but it didn't quite do it for me.

4.5 stars Ravaged by them ended with Annabelle trying to find DollFace. This is Doll Face aka Madison Snow's story of finding self forgiveness and love. The story is dark, the journey is cruel and hard with a lot of steamy thrown in by way of Viggio and Carter whose parents Madison killed. But it does end with an HEA.

I have mixed emotions about this one. While it started off quite dark and the redemption and forgiveness themes were very strong which I quite like I never really connected with the characters. The chemistry didn't feel like it was really there between them either. The story as a whole just didn't work for me but I did enjoy a lot of the writing so I'm giving it three stars.

Karma is dark and this author has managed to do a wonderful job describing it! The plot is easy to follow and very well written. The characters are well developed and each one has some demons they need to deal with. There are a lot of triggers in this book so be aware of that. If dark is your thing you are not going to want to put this book down till it ends!

It seems as if Kelli Callahan's writing just gets better and better. I've enjoyed her Descent into Darkness Series from the beginning.
Broken by Them is the perfect mixture of all the elements that make a good story great. It kept me on the edge of my seat. However, as good as the storyline is, the book really needs a better editor. The mistakes often distracted me from staying in the story.

All I can say is wow!!! Viggo, carter and Madison are definitely hot and heavy. I love how the book starts off it’s so dark and intriguing the reader really gets sucked in only to end with the hea that is more about Madison’s forgiveness then the relationship

This story between Madison, Viggo and Carter is so intense but in a good way. I was hooked from the start and my heart sped up and slowed down at the same time as the characters did. I'm just such a fan of KC!! I definitely recommend this book.

Best in the series
I must this was my favorite book from the series. I think the author writes beautifully except for the occasional spelling errors. However I am a fan yet I’m getting tired of how all the leading ladies are virgins. It’s very overplayed in her books. That’s the only thing I don’t like in any of her books.

I had such high hopes for this story. Sadly, it didn't live up to my expectations. There were parts I liked and others that frustrated me. I felt disconnected from the characters. Add in the taking over Chicago part with the Queen and I was lost.i was wanting the story to focus more on the three main characters. Perhaps that was just me.

This was a good read with plenty of darkness and twists. I thought the plot was interesting and the characters compelling. I was not a fan of the back and forth timeline line though. A little of this is OK, but I thought there was just too much of it. This is my honest, voluntary review.

This is the 3rd book in the series but it can be read as a stand-alone. Viggo and Carter are out for revenge and it is time for Madison to pay. I loved this dark read. Lots of emotion, very intense with plenty of drama. Great characters with lots of steam. I was hooked from beginning to end.
