Queen Witch

Who will win the Queen Witch Trials?

I was never interested in becoming Queen Witch. Everyone knew my older sister was the favorite for the throne. It never even bothered me... until I learned she’s actually a necromancer, raising bodies from the dead. Why? I had no idea. All I knew was that I couldn't allow her to become queen.

As princesses, we have no choice but to compete in the Trials—a deadly series of events that will test us magically, mentally, emotionally, and physically. But now I must play to win. Heirs from all over the globe are contending, and it’s going to take every ounce of power I possess to keep the kingdom of Terranea out of my sister’s wicked hands.

If I fail, the repercussions could be far worse than any war the world has ever seen...

First of all, Catfish ran this show. I loved him and his humour so much, and I’m hoping that he pops up as the series continues. The energy transfer/ power system was really unique, and something I hadn’t come across before. The “trials” trope didn’t feel overplayed - I actually felt really invested and cheered for Eliza, especially when she broke the rules to do what was right. I cannot wait to read about Laken’s story and continue the series.

Eliza and her sisters are participating in the Queen Witch Trials, which everyone assumed her elder sister Nerissa would win. However the competition soon heats up when Eliza realises that she (or one of her other sisters) need to beat Nerissa for the Queen Witch crown.

Queen Witch is wonderful start to this new series, which I absolutely loved. It was action packed and through each trial more was revealed about each character and Eliza’s own magic. I’m looking forward to the next book in The Queen Witch Trials series and I highly first book in the series.

This is the second book that I have read from Elle Middaugh and I must say I really enjoy her writing! I did agree to read this without knowing what it was about-apart from witches (again! Lol) and I was pleasantly surprised.

Eliza, our main character,is competing to become the Queen Witch along with her sisters and witches from across the world. They must go through a series of trials to prove that they are the best and most deserving. During the process they are tested to the brink of breaking and form bonds that will last a lifetime. Whilst battling to be the queen of light darkness is not far behind and it’ll take everything to defeat it.

I loved the character descriptions and the ease that the author introduced them to us. I definitely believe that Catfish is my familiar and I love him as a character. As far as the heroine,Eliza, goes I think she’s brilliant! She takes matters in her own hands and tries her best and won’t back down. She has a few “human” moments where she doubts herself, trips up a few times but that is what makes her so real and loveable. Gage is practically perfect as a character and I love him so much-there is nothing else to say on that matter!

I found myself drawn into the story and didn’t want it to stop. I was cheering for Eliza and her “crew” the whole time. Every so often I would have a “out loud”reaction moment which really proves how it sucks you in!

This book is a departure from what I normally read but I feel that I can really get into it if/when it turns out to be a series. I definitely would recommend this for a quick and easy read-especially if you want a Halloween themed book. Very well done Elle Middaugh!!

WOW!! I don't even know where to start! Well I guess first I LOVED this book! It has some of my favorite types of supernatural's in it (Gage *sigh*) and the action in this book has you hooked from beginning to end. I really can't say enough about this story. It's a phenomenal start to what I think is going to be one of my favorite series. The details of everything from scene to scene were stunning. Laken, Maren, and their "princes" are great supporting characters. Narissa is that evil sister that keeps you guessing on what she has planned next, and how far her Prince will go to help her. I love catfish and his sarcasm, and of course our main chick Eliza and her smoking hot "prince" Gage, swoon, he's definitely next book boyfriend material! They had this pure love that grew from strangers to partners to lovers that was a perfect slow burn romance that fit the pace of this book perfectly. The only thing that made me sad was not getting enough of them lol. I can't wait for the laughs, action, details, and to revisit these guys in book 2 and to see how Laken is doing with her new role and her beau!

Good vs evil is never an easy thing....making it that much harder is when Eliza learns her older sister Nerissa is also competing in these trials to become the new Queen Witch. That part wasn't the shocker since her sister has been training since birth. What did throw her for a loop was when she spotted her sister raising a friggin ZOMBIE?!? Her sister was a necromancer of all things?!? What the heck was going on!! All Eliza did know was her sister could NOT be allowed to win no matter what!! The safety of their kingdom was at stake here. Now all she had to do was win this thing... Did she have the strength and ability to do so! Read this exciting tale to see how Eliza begins believing in herself..... Watch as her inner light starts to shine.... I for one greatly look forward to seeing what's next for Queen Eliza, for one thing I'm certain... Things won't remain calm if her sister has any say in the matter.

I'm definitely in the minority here, but I was disappointed by Queen Witch. It sounded amazing, and I definitely turned the pages very fast... only to feel like "that's it?" This short novel basically covers the trials where Eliza must stop her sister Nerissa to win. The romance couldn't be taken seriously, because there's not enough time. I know it's only the first book, but I would have liked to know more about this world and the magic, about the characters... who could have picked my interest, but as it is, I only felt like I wanted to know more about Nerissa who seemed more interesting than the others. There was definitely potential for more in my opinion.

I am in awe, I absolutely loved this book. I love books with witches and after reading many I have to say this is my absolute favorite. I have read several books by this author and she is amazing, her stories are beautifully written with amazing storylines that are so entertaining you never want the book to end. Queen Witch is a MUST READ for all the paranormal romance lovers out there and if you aren't into this genre read this book because it will get you hooked!

Oh my!!! This is without a doubt one of the most thrilling witch books ever written!! It's rich in magical spells, familiars and evildoers. Catfish is the self appointed star and he is hilarious. Eliza is simply amazing and you quickly become engrossed in her world. Gage is one hottie and the back and fourth between he and Eliza is both sweet and frustrating to witness. You just desire that happily ever after so much and I'm not quite sure we received it. Ms. Middaugh has very quickly become one of my favorite authors!! Her snark and enthusiasm... the way in which she describes and sets her scenes makes her work stand out and truly shine!

I really liked this story. I love fantasy stories. Story was very well written. This is more like a YA story. I usually don't read YA. I kind of want my own Gage. But I actually really liked this one and I can't wait to read next book.

What it takes to became a queen? Well for sure courage and perseverance. It also takes love, sacrifice and inner strength. Eliza have all of it and even more. She will fight dangerous, even deadly, trials. She will face necromancer. Luckily she will be not alone. It’s really nice story, with well built plot and great characters.

Witches do it better! 😈

I freakin loved it!! Its like hunger games but better! Witches must play a survival game to win the trials and only one can be the new queen! Now add a little splash of romance with of a hot dragon and some cool sisters!! and not so cool, Of course there is always a black sheep in the family... and shes dark! Eliza our heroine must try to win or die trying before she lets her evil sister take over and destroy everything and everyone. I smiled, swoon, and laugh so hard! Must read! Elle has become one of my new favorite authors to read!! 😘I read this with my kindle unlimited.

In this story we have a competition every 10 years for the Queen Witch. All of the Kingdoms from around the world send their girls to compete. The very first trial is where you meet your future Prince and it just keeps getting better from there. Which princess will win? Why aren't they allowed outside the walls? What else is happening in the kingdom hosting the competition? Another winner

Freaking loved it!!!

Eliza is a true freaking queen and deserved her hard fought win.

I want to adopt Catfish.

Gage is a badass prince willing to roll with the punches unless his princess is about to die.

Nerissa is a tool and needs to go.

I picked this one to read because the cover is amazing. The beginning of the book left me worried. Characters weren't very developed and the cussing just seemed to ruin the flow of the writing. It just seemed out of place to me and would trip me up reading. As the book went on the inserted cuss words dropped off and the characters started to shine through. The story is steady paced and there is a lot of action. The trials are unique. The ending leaves it open for the second book which I would love to read.

Exciting!!!

I looooovvvvvveeeee this boook!!!! I literally started before work, read on my lunch, and stayed up till I finished it all in the same day. There was so much going on that it's literally impossible to be willing to put down. I love the characters and I want to learn more about each one of them. Some surprise you with how bad a** they are and even though theres not a major cliff hanger, you still need to know more! 1000000000% recommend you read if you love witches, shifters, or just extremely got men and women kicking a**.

This book is so good! I don't often read YA level anymore, and I was worried the lack of "adult themes" would hamper my enjoyment of the story. Nope! It has cover-to-cover action that will keep you turning the pages long into the night. Steam? I barely even noticed it was missing! Some of my favorite parts: her dragon-shifter love interest, her snarky familiar, and the growth of her self-awareness throughout the story. Definitely an entertaining, easy-to-read novel that I could come back to again and again! Can't wait to see what happens in the next book with the next sister.

This is a book that leaves you needing more, not wanting more- needing more. A roller coaster ride from the very beginning. Twists and turns that I know I never saw coming. When I got to the end, I tried to turn the page so I could read more.

I’ve read this author before and everything that I have read from her is noting shy of amazing! Her books are go back and re-read them multiple times worthy!

This was insane! Definitely a page turner! Eliza and Gage were definitely made for each other. I freaking loved catfish! Catfish’s thoughts were just on point. LOL I can’t wait to read the second installment! I loved the trials and the suspense and action just made everything better. But I really need that second story. The way Nathan pulled out that gun though. That was smooth! LOL Elle Middaugh you rock!

Interesting airplane read

This was an interesting airport read, but character relationships and other items were not explored very well and many things were missing from the story.

Although I enjoyed reading it...I don’t know if I will continue. The antagonist Nerissa seemed more interesting than the others. Anyways okay read but not much more

Enjoyable read

Action-packed story where all the events (seven trials) happens quickly and that felt a bit rushed for me but the story was good and it still kept me on my toes as to what would happens next. Overhall Queen Witch was an enjoyable read. Will definitly read book 2 for Lakan story

I received a free copy of this book from the author and this is an honest review.

Intense trials for Queen Witch

Was sorry to come to the end of this book. The sisters had to go threw some intense Trials for the contest and there is now the job of ruling in front of them. I look forward to reading more.

phenomenal

Very interesting from the beginning. I really enjoyed reading it and I hope book 2 is in the works. The end stated we would read about her sister next which is cool. I was kind of expecting Eliza’s story to still be the forefront. So that will be an interesting change yet welcomed because I love reading more about characters within a book I’ve read, especially their point of view.
