In these pages you’ll find Lump, a tortured soul who only wants one thing. You’ll find a recording of the future, a cult that worships tools, faces in windows, haunted mirrors and doors. You’ll find a hotel in which time is of no consequence. It’s a book where the spare parts store isn’t what you think, and an auction is for more than just the deceased’s estate. It’s a book full of creatures and beasts of all shapes and sizes, as well as a few aliens. This is a book in which you can swap your brain into a new body and live forever, and if you have dementia, you can close your eyes and remember. It’s a book full of stories to fill the silences.
Award winning author, Claire L. Fishback lives in Morrison, Colorado with her loving husband, Tim, and their pit bull mix, Kira. When she isn’t writing, she enjoys hiking, running, baking, and adding to her bone collection, though she would rather be stretched out on the couch with a good book (or poking dead things with sticks). Claire has thrown together a brilliant collection of horror tales ranging from snacky vignettes to more meaty shorts. They are the perfect stories to gobble up while enjoying a Colorado micro-brew on a warm summer’s eve. Or you may want to binge a bunch of the stories at a time, which is what I did. They are creepy, unsettling, and fun (horror fans know what I mean). And you may find that “Lump” will whet your appetite for heartier fare. Claire Fishback’s debut novel, “The Blood of Seven,” a tight horror-mystery filled with cults, secret societies, and forbidden knowledge, releases on June 21st.
I'm a big fan of horror anthologies and can safely say that this one is Great.
It was on offer at amazon (couldn't resist the price) so I snapped it up even though I knew nothing about the author but I do now and I thoroughly enjoyed her originality and story telling.
Highly recommended to any fan of horror and I'll be looking out for more from this author.
I LOVED THIS BOOK! Some stories had me terrified, some were just heartwarming, and some made me cry. What an incredibly talented author! I can’t wait to read her other books!
