She has done it again!! How can I not love this book! It has sexy men, shifters, bombs,crazy family members, adorable babies, and lots of sexiness!!
The Black Meadow series is just the perfect shifter series! Sam just got back after 5 yrs and Ry could not be happier! He has known she was his mate for so long. This time he will not let her go so, when she is in danger he is there in a link of an eye! You gotta read this book! If you love shifter books then this is for you!!

This made for an ok shifter romance. While I liked both the hero and heroine I still felt it had that insta-love vibe. I didn't feel much depth in their relationship aside from sexually. Also I feel this book was overpriced at $4.99. It was only like 120 pages.

I love that even though this has a insta-love story Riel waited for Sam to develop as a person and see the world before mating her and changing her life.
Really enjoyed this book and series, it has a similar feel as Freakn shifter series you Eve Langlais which I love.

Really great story!!! Fabulous follow up to Sharp Change!!! Everything I complained about in the first book was fixed here!

I loved Riel from the other book and really hoped he would have a HEA!!! He is a perfect balance of possessive and gentle loving. Add in his Alpha side with a touch of dirty talk and a girl can't complain!

Sam is a great match for him and such an interesting character herself. This time I really felt the emotions along with all the lust! They were a really engaging pair.

The side story was much more developed this time and really well paced. Very well rounded storytelling.

Loads of yummy steam!!! Oh Lordy, hot and heavy to the max!

I really can't wait for the next book! Please say it is Nat and Troy, or maybe a little loving for Tryx!!!! Really addictive series with dynamic characters and writing that sucks you in and doesn't let go until the last word!

My Thoughts:
I actually enjoyed this story much more than Sharp Change because Sam and Riel seemed to connect better for me as a couple. Caged Heat just was not a smexy tale but had a good smattering of intrigue woven throughout the story as well as the unexpected addiction of the "bad guy" to keep it interesting and moving at a very good pace.

I hope Nat and Troy get their HEA soon. I look forward to reading the next one.

Would I recommend this story to someone else? You betcha! I already have.

I didn't read the first in this series but I don't think it took away from this second story for me at all. There was really nothing in this book that I didn't like. I love books with shifters and this was no exception. Riel is as hot as can be as well as the other shifters throughout the book. I know that I certainly look forward to reading many more books by this author. My only complaint is that I wished that it was longer!! I recommend to anyone that likes steamy, shifter books.

I am having a hard time picking out the book that I love the most. I really loved Sharp Change which was the first book in the series.

This book is full of suspense and sex. It is also about wolves and you know how much a sexy wolf can turn you on. Boy never knew a book could be so hot. I don't know how she keeps writing books like this but I am addicted to them. I go into heat just thinking about it and I know I'm not a wolf.

So if you haven't read this book you really need to give it a try but make sure you read Sharp Change first.

Caged Heat is the second book in the Blackmeadow Pack series. In this book we meet human Sam & wolf shifter Reil & follow them along the bumpy road to happily ever after.

Samira has spent 5 years traveling the world working for a charity as an aid worker. She had planned to return home after her 5th year but never thought that she would loose the grandmother that raised her before she could say goodbye. She's surprised to learn that her grandma has left her a fortune in her will. Her relatives are surprised, too. And very unhappy. Sam never thought she'd have to worry about the clause in the will that gave the rest of the family the whole estate if Sam died within 30 days.

Wolf shifter Riel has been living next to Sam's grandmother & doing what he could to help her out. He's also been waiting for Sam to return. She's his mate & he's ready to let her know. When things start to get dangerous for Sam he's determined to protect her. But Sam is an independent woman & isn't always as careful as she should be under the circumstances. Will Riel be able to protect her from whoever is trying to kill her?

In my opinion, this book is just as good as the first in the series. The main characters are likeable & engaging. Riel is the typical overwhelming alpha type that's determined to do things his way & doesn't take Sam's stubborn streak & independence into account. Sam is pretty typical for a modern woman. She tends to think that things couldn't be as bad as they seem & lets her guard down too often. The story line is interesting & kept me turning the pages. It had a good balance of drama without overdoing it & kept me wanting to see what happened next.

Samira has retuned home after five years; the hate of her family is still potent.
Samira has been working in the jungle of Brazil and Somalia involved in causes that had been dear to her grandmothers heart, she has been away for five years and now that her time had come to an end she returned to an empty home and a family that despise her even more since the discover that most of her grandmothers money has been left to her to do with as she sees fit.
The last clause of the will which was that if she died within 30 days the family would the have the balance of her estate split between them had painted a target on her back and several attempts had already been made on her life. Riel had fallen in love with her when she was eighteen and he had been waiting for her to return home, he knew that she was his “Mate” and had been sure that he would be able to show her this, because she was a human it is not as obvious however he is unaware of her run in with a wolf that had bitten her on the ankle, since then her sense of smell, hearing, eyesight had improved which is very strange.
There is so much more to this second book in the series, full of lies and deceit however through it all Riel is sworn to keep her safe and ensure that she knows she is loved and cared for, she has such a good heart and he wants to make her happy but first he has to discover who has tried to kill her and more importantly why?

3.5 stars. Money brings out the worst in people.
This book has just been rereleased with more content. Having read both I found this newer version flows better and the story gives that bit more.
Saying that I still found Samira a bit gullible about what was happening and too soft with the family, not wanting to believe they would hurt her for money.
Ginny was Samira’s very rich grandmother who practically raised her after her parents deaths.
Sam was the apple of Ginny’s eye as the rest of the family were a waste of space.
Samira has honoured Ginny’s wishes and has volunteered overseas for the last five years doing work for Ginny’s charitable foundation.
Riel has known for five years that Sam is his mate but Ginny asked him to let Samira go off and do this work so she could grow up a bit before he claims her as his mate.
Samira has had the hots for Ry for years too but has been unable to even talk to him due to getting flustered.
On Ginny’s death Sam is left billions, which aggravates the rest of the family.
When nasty things start happening to Sam, Riel steps in and states his claim.
Good story with interesting happenings.
Even though I loved Riel/Ry, I found this a bit lacking on real relationship feelings between Sam and Riel. More insta mate, I will keep you safe going on with lots of sex.
Interesting ending.

Great story!

When Samira Suarez comes home after 5 years of volunteering in Somalia and Brazil for her Grandmother's charities, she has mixed feelings. Her beloved Grandma Ginny has died and she wasn't there to say goodbye, but she's happy to be home.

When the reading of the will occurs and Sam is left everything From her billionaire grandmother and her mean aunts and cousins only get 1 million dollars each. No one is happy. There's a clause in there that if Sam dies within 30 days of Ginny's death, her relatives get 20 million each and her cousins get 10 million.

Riel is a wolf shifter who's known since he was a teenager that Sam is his mate. Ginny asked him to wait while Sam was away until he approached her. Now that she's back, he's ecstatic and ready to claim her.

Every since Sam has gotten home she's been feeling different. Enhanced hearing, increased sex drive whenever she's around Riel, and her sense of smell is heightened. Riel thinks that she has shifter traits. When they research her past, they get a big surprise.

But when a dead carcass shows up on her doorstep, A homemade bomb, and then her house is set on fire with her inside of it, tied up, and drugged. She knows her family is behind it all.

Riel won't let anything happen to his mate, no matter what.

Get your cold drink and sit in front of the air conditioner. This one is HOT!.

Sam rushed into the meeting she never wanted to attend, fresh from 24 hours traveling including the Amazon Jungle. She was home now. Only to sit through the reading of her grandmother's will. She'd rather have the woman who raised her than the billions left to her. The rest of the family got tokens in comparison and it didn't make them happy. The will also put her on a hit list. Her grandmother couldn't have realized.

Riel, now her neighbor, lived next door. She was his mate and he planned to make that permanent and soon. When the inheritance put her in danger, he planned to find out who and keep her safe. There was a long line of possible suspects that they knew of. Could they find the guilty party or parties?

The danger didn't keep Sam and Riel apart. Their need for each other was unquenchable. This one is steaming hot, has several mysteries going on and loyal and fun friends and pack mates. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting.

You know when you read you should be reading for the fun of it, okay well I read for the heat in the story I ain't gona lie. *smiles* But with Milly's book I don't have to give up one or the other, she always finds the balance between the concept of the story its characters and heat.

Caged heat was just fun and funny, the sass of a beautiful female, the ultimate patience of Mr. Sexy he's been watching and waiting and now he's done waiting time to reign her in.

A young crush and still a crush 5 years later, you can feel the chemistry pop off your kindle between these two. As Sam is settling in she gains to inherit quite a bit and not everyone is thrilled that she is back and nothing is just an accident.

Milly created amazing characters with this book 2 and it flowed from book 1 with ease. Its full of action both dangerous and erotic, filled with sass and stubbornness. Lastly, there is a mystery afoot digging into it may unearth a past no one wants to face. Enjoy.

This is Book 2 in the Blackmeadow Pack series. This was previously published. Samira’s grandmother has passed away and Samira has come home for the first time in 5 years. Her grandmother left her everything and now the family isn’t happy. But she didn’t care because they had never been happy where she was concerned. Riel, her grandmother’s hunky next-door neighbor, is very happy that she’s home. He’s always loved her and he’s going to let her know that now. Then things start happening and it doesn’t look good for Samira. There’s so many things going on that you can’t help but dig in and try to solve the mystery of who’s involved. I really enjoyed reading it and recommend it if you want a good short story. You are going to love it! I voluntarily read and reviewed this book that I received from Booksprout.

Previously published. I read this when it first came out but don't remember it well enough to say whether this version has any changes. I have always enjoyed this series. These were some of the first books by Milly Taiden I read and got me hooked on her books. Reading this one makes me want to go back and read the first one again. Looks like there will be a third one in the near future if the end of this book is any indication.

Riel has been patiently waiting for Samira to return home so that he can claim her as his mate. He thinks she has always been afraid of him but in reality, she was shy and seriously crushing on him. Many things have changed now that she is back home and secrets will be revealed.

Delightful romance and suspenseful adventure

A very entertaining romance between Riel Karven, a wolf shifter, and Samira Suarez (Sam), a human, and his heart's desire. Riel has waited five years for Sam to return home from helping poor children in poor countries. Finally she is back but arriving after her beloved grandmother had passed away. Her grandmother's will left Sam most of her billions of dollars to Sam. Unfortunately there was a clause in the Will that IF Sam died within 30 days the money would be divided between all of the remaining heirs! And so the attempts to kill Sam began. Can Riel save her and can he convince Sam he loves her? Read and find out! Highly recommend this book!

Great story with action, suspense, and sex. Shifters and crazy family. I truly enjoy Milly’s books, they always make you feel better if you’ve had a bad day.

Love It!

Milly Taiden writes sexy, mysterious and witty stories. And this one is no exception. Of you like paranormal romances with women who are strong intelligent and have sabor then you want to read Ms? Taiden's books.
With a recent loss Samira returns home and finds the one male she can't be around without getting tongue tied living next door.
He's waited for Samira for what feels like a lifetime. Now Samira's back and he won't lose her. But someone wants what Samira has inherited and is willing to kill to get it. Now Riel not only has to protect cc to her but get her to chose him.

Loved it! I've reviewed this book. I love reading Milly Taiden books. Caged Heat is a well written, full of excitement and suspense story. This is the second book in the Blackmeadow Pack series. This is Samira and Riel story. Sam has been doing charity work for five years. Now she has return home. Can Riel get Sam to see that they belong with each other? Another witty, intelligent story with love, action and HEA. I enjoy Milly Taiden stories. That being said, I stayed up all night to read this book. I enjoyed how the characters grew and interacted with each other in this book. She made me love the shifter world more with this book.

Hot and sweet and fun, Sam and Riel finally get together after years! Only thing to note is they could've spent more time together though...not just between the sheets...but I guess with the threat out there...

I love this series! Ms Taiden keeps you hooked from the first chapter.  Riel has his work cut out for him just keeping Sam alive.  Sam has a powerfully sexy mate to keep up with her.  There's danger from many sides but secrets revealed and love realized makes this another winner.
