Classic adventure for the modern reader! The curse of a lost continent rises again! A lost island broken by cataclysm and haunted by a dark intelligence broods alone on its bloody past. It is the lost graveyard for fleets of sunken treasure vessels. An irresistible lure for Dane Maddock and his band of adventurers, but getting there is least of their problems. When Bones rescues a talented young programmer from a gang of mercenaries, Maddock and his crew find themselves in the crosshairs of a deadly organization that will stop at nothing to possess a priceless software program with the potential to dominate the world’s economy. Maddock, Bones, and the crew of the Sea Foam set out for a legendary island in the Pacific, the final resting place of a wealth of treasure vessels. Standing in their way are mercenaries, cage fighters, drug gangs, mystics, and powers beyond their understanding. But no threat is more perilous than what lies in wait for them in the shadow of Maug. Praise for David Wood and the Dane Maddock Adventures “Dane and Bones.... Together they're unstoppable. Rip roaring action from start to finish. Wit and humor throughout. Just one question - how soon until the next one? Because I can't wait.” Graham Brown, author of Shadows of the Midnight Sun “A twisty tale of adventure and intrigue that never lets up and never lets go!” Robert Masello, author of Bestiary and Blood and Ice “What an adventure! A great read that provides lots of action, and thoughtful insight as well, into strange realms that are sometimes best left unexplored.” Paul Kemprecos, author of the NUMA Files “A page-turning yarn blending high action, Biblical speculation, ancient secrets, and nasty creatures. Indiana Jones better watch his back!” Jeremy Robinson, author of SecondWorld “With the thoroughly enjoyable way Mr. Wood has mixed speculative history with our modern day pursuit of truth, he has created a story that thrills and makes one think beyond the boundaries of mere fiction and enter the world of 'why not'?” David Lynn Golemon, Author of Ancients “Let there be no David Wood is the next Clive Cussler. Once you start reading, you won't be able to stop until the last mystery plays out in the final line.” Edward G. Talbot, author of 2012: The Fifth World “I like my thrillers with lots of explosions, global locations and a mystery where I learn something new. Wood delivers! Recommended as a fast paced, kick ass read.” J.F. Penn, author of Desecration “Dourado is a brisk read, reminiscent of early Cussler adventures, and perfect for an afternoon at the beach or a cross-country flight. You'll definitely want more of Maddock.” Sean Ellis- Author of Into the Black

Not Berserk!

Not as good as Berserk, but good enough to continue reading this series.

Dane Maddock and his team of reckless people are visiting an unknown island to search for sunken treasure.

While diving for hidden treasure they encounter the mystery behind why people looking for the sunken boats always manage to disappear.

Plenty of stomach quenching action.

I really like This series and have read all of books and look forward to more. Good story about an Island that is the respository of many shipwrecks. This is Bones and Maddock's livehood so let the games begin. Of course there will be monsters, danger and women involved. Oh yes and Maddock hears some unwelcome news about his fiance and it throws him off his game and therefore the treasure search.

Well, it's about a girl who writes a computer program that can literally figure out anything, and by the end of the book she has formed a telepathic link with a giant squid.

I know this sounds dumb, but honestly, I couldn't stop reading. There's this constant sexual innuendo in the dialogue, but the exploration and the discovery kept the plot moving. The characters were fun as well.

A Fun Read and a Good Story

Things move fast and you get drawn into the world this story came from. The story uses all the characters in their own subplots and blends them together to make a compelling story. It has a bit of the supernatural element to keep the story strong. It’s a good read.

This is an exciting adventure to an island that has a history of sunken ships and treasure. I started this book and just kept reading. I wanted to see what was going to happen next.

Of course, Maddock and Bones have all kinds of craziness going on. Nothing for our heroes is ever easy.

Intriguing adventure

Maug is an exciting adventure, especially for fans of Dane Maddock stories. Beginning in New York City, Bones meets a stranger who will soon embroil Bones, Dane, and the rest of the crew in a fight for their lives.

This Was A Bit Eeird

The whole "Maug" concept is a little weird, but it's a good story. I had Lyn figured out, mostly. The weirdness with Sally seeming to communicate with "something" was a different tale. I am looking forward to reading the next book.

In this book we join Maddock and his team while they travel to the island Maug, famous for its many shipwrecks. It is a little bit weird that I like these books as much as I do, but I think they are a kind of guilty pleasure. Also, they are potato chips books, as in you always want one more. The characters of Maddock and Bones are very, very stereotypical ex navy seals, and somewhat one dimensional. Each book is based on a historical myth, and they are sometimes a little bit repetitive. But the action and adventure is great and very fast paced, and the books are enjoyable.
