⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! Mogul (stand-alone). Sara’s life is turned up-side down by mysterious & non-committal “Hot Suit” mogul with a 9-inch cock!

“Sex with you is amazing. Euphoric. Out of this fucking world. I’ve never been so in love with a guy’s dick. It’s perfect. Gorgeous. Thick and—”
“I get it. You like my dick.”

Books in series are stand-alones:
Book 1: Tycoon
Book 2: Mogul

“He wants us to see where this goes, to casually date and in the meantime have yummy sex.”

Mogul (stand-alone) opens up to Sara Davies sharing a cab with a sex-on-a-stick stranger aka Hot Suit and realizing they are both heading to the same location, the hotel where she works as a concierge and apparently his room for the night. Later in the evening she gets a call from room 1103 ordering her to its doorstep where she is pulled into hours of Hot Suit fucking her senseless. Afterwards the sexy stranger brushes her off and sends her on her way.

The show must go on… And so it does for Sara, mostly anyway, until one day their paths cross and her world is thrown off its axel yet again. Her sexy stranger turns out to be movie mogul Ian Ford and this time around he’s prepared to offer repeat performances riding his talented tongue and 9-inch cock. Sex you cannot walk away from. It’s difficult not falling for her mysterious, enigmatic and non-committal lover whom everyone seems to want a piece of…

Told from dual POV, it’s a bit of an against-all-odds-love offering the perfect blend of romance and smut with an unfolding plot and peeling of the layers that is larger-than-life Ian Ford. While my Kindle cooled off in the freezer I sat day-dreaming of Ian, who had Sara and I coming back for more. It ends fast forward a few months into the future, but I’d welcome an extended epilogue. Heck I can’t get enough of Ian. [le pines!]

“I come, I come in colors, songs, movements, fabrics. I come in all the ways and at the same time in no other way but this one. I come for him and because of him, and as if he knows this yet isn’t satisfied in my complete undoing nor in taking me every which way possible.”

➳A one night stand filled with raw passion, making the reader crave for more of Katy Evans and her phenomenal love stories...

➳One night stand romances are always very cliche when I read them. This new standalone has made the exception where my crave to wanting more of Ian and Sara is to the top. Meeting under unexpected circumstances, Ian and Sara decide to explore a sexual chemistry that is very instant when drawn upon each other's gazes. Once they light up the fire with fuel, there is no stopping them from breaking apart. Though one can say that they both go through rough patches of trying to identify their true attraction towards each other.

➳Sara, a strong woman trying to identify her place in the show-biz industry, she struggles after a tragic accident that happened to her right after college, not letting her pursue her dream of dancing on stage for a short period, making her forget her actions of still trying to pursue her dreams later on. Ian, a workaholic who has taken his passion as a movie producer to the level of a distraction away from the real issues he has in his life. After seeing each other for the second time after their one night stand, they both come to a realization that their attraction towards each other will never be diminished no matter how much they both try to avoid each other. The strong pull is there, the hesitation is present, obstacles try to block their path towards each other, but Ian will never be able to have enough of Sarah;
"I don't want to get myself into trouble or in a position where the first guy I actually react to breaks my heart. But God. Ian Ford. Dirty Workaholic. Hot as the hottest man on the planet. The interest in his eyes is turning my knees to mush..."

➳I want to say that my admiration for Katy's writing will never stop to amaze me, but no matter what she always has a special part in my heart for making me crave her writing at every turn or every release she has. The rawness of everything she writes has engraved itself to my ache of wanting more of her writing, especially after reading Ian and Sara's story.

➳Overall, I am beyond excited for everyone to enjoy Sara's and Ian's story. They meet under the point of view that one would not expect to be so instant, but once you read it for sure you will want more of Katy's writing. Thank you so much to Katy and Melissa for sending over a copy of this masterpiece.

Seeing him again, his gorgeous face, his sexy designer slacks, and that crisp white shirt, inhaling his intoxicating scent, I’m reminded why I haven’t stopped thinking about him since that night. This guy makes me hungry. Hungry like someone who hasn’t eaten for days and is standing before a chocolate buffet, and chocolate is her favorite.

If you love a steamy romance with a hotter than hell Hero who wears a suit like nobody’s business, then MOGUL should be the next book on your TBRs! Katy Evans has done it again! She has a gift for creating Heroes that ooze sex appeal and virility out of every pore! Don’t even get me started on the names she picks for her alpha males! Just the name alone of this hero will melt your panties right off. IAN FORD!! Readers everywhere will be fighting to claim him as their own!

I’ve been a huge fan of Katy’s for years. I love getting lost in her stories and most of the time I wish I could just live in them. This story grabs you from the very beginning. There is no slow build! The couple meets right at the very opening of the story and soon a wild and passionate affair takes flight. It was decadently steamy and thoroughly entertaining. What a great book to spend part of this holiday weekend reading!

Sara Davies and Ian Ford meet by chance when they wind up sharing a cab from JFK to NYC. If there was ever a time where these two could consider themselves lucky—this would be it. There was no denying during that ride into Manhattan that there was a sizzling current of sexual attraction generating between them. And it would seem that lady luck wasn’t done with them yet because Sara suddenly gets called in to cover for a co-worker at the Four Season’s hotel, which also happens to be where Ian is staying as a guest. Ian doesn’t waste any time, when he invites Sara up to his room to get better acquainted with each other. Sara has never had a one-night stand before but she was not about to miss out on the chance of having the best sex of her life with her hot as hell cab ride companion.

What started out as a night of mind-blowing sex between two strangers, slowly turns into a bit of an obsession for both Ian and Sara. While they both try to go on with their lives, they haven't been able to stop thinking about each other. It’s as if fate is trying to force them together when a few months later their paths cross again. Sara has been working for Ian’s grandmother on the side as her dog walker. She also works part-time for her roommate, who is about to launch her own clothing line. These jobs are temporary while she tries to get her big break on Broadway.

Sara is more than ecstatic when she gets the chance be with her beautiful man again but her happiness is quickly dimmed when she learns that he’s in the middle of finalizing a divorce. One that has been in the works for over a year. Sara doesn’t want to be the “other woman” in a relationship and her fears of being the ”rebound” makes her hesitant to pursue anything with Ian. And Ian isn’t sure if he’s ready to give love a try again. His wife betrayed him in the worst way and his ability to trust has significantly diminished. Ian is a very successful movie producer and his work demands a lot of his time, and it’s one of the reasons his marriage fell apart.

Will Sara’s worst fears come to fruition? Is Ian truly into Sara or is she just a temporary fling?

Here are my overall ratings

Hero: 5
Heroine: 4
Plot: 4.5
Angst: 3
Steam: 5
Chemistry Between Hero & Heroine: 5

I really enjoyed this one! It was out of this world steamy and I’m not exaggerating when I say that Ian Ford is guaranteed to win your hearts ladies! Every time he appears in the book my heart was racing just as fast as the Heroine’s. This story is low on angst with a heavy dose of pulse-pounding steam! An excellent book to add to your summer reading list!

When I read this author, Katy Evans, she leaves me completely breathless. The way she builds her hero’s, just damn.....

I’m going to keep this short and sweet. You know Katy writes phenomenal, and if you haven’t tried her, what the heck are you waiting for.....!

I’m going to list the nicknames these super sexy MC’s called each other, because honestly, I loved this part of her book 💕

Hot Suit, My Delicious Workaholic, My Dirty Suit, Yummy Motherfucker, Film Mogul Extraordinaire, Dirty Workaholic, My Suit, Yummy Man, My Hot Workaholic.

Dancer, Sweetheart, Baby, Kitten, and MINE

“Why does love and romance need to be so damn complicated.”

Wow, I really adored Mogul by Katy Evans. I have certainly read my fair share of one night stand stories that turn into something more, but this one was different. If I had to summarise how, it would be the intensity of it. The writing and characters really captured me from the start; it was so hot, steamy and full of oh-so-much intense chemistry. You can’t help but be drawn into what once started as a one night stand, that turned into to something so much more.

Sara is an aspiring dancer and her ultimate dream is to dance on Broadway, but as we all know, plans and dreams for that matter don’t always work out when you want them to. Circumstances that may be beyond your control can put a hold on all your hard work and talent. Unfortunately for Sara an injury has halted her dancing career and she is working as a concierge at the Four Season Hotel as a result.

Unbeknownst to Sara at the time, she was about to discover that sharing a cab with a hot and sexy-as-sin stranger one night would change her life as she knew it. Sara and the sexy stranger share a life-altering and intense one night stand that neither of them saw coming nor could have anticipated the powerful feelings that would come next.

“I don’t want to get myself into trouble or in a position where the first guy I actually react to breaks my heart. But God. Ian Ford. Dirty Workaholic. Hot as the hottest man on the planet. The interest in his eyes is turning my knees to mush.”

Well, if you are in desperate search for your next book boyfriend then I suggest you search no further than Ian Ford. That man is mighty fine. He is a sexy, hot and alpha male film producer who pulls off a suit like nobody else and is the epitome of success. He is a complete workaholic, but uses work as a distraction from the many obstacles life has thrown his way. If he buries himself with work for his film company, then he doesn’t have to think about the real underlying issues he faces.

While he shared one unforgettable night with a beautiful stranger who managed to stir up an array of feelings, want and desires in him, he knows he cannot fully give himself to Sara. All he wants is just the physical connection and none of the emotion, but when Sara and Ian come face to face once more, all bets are off. Will Ian manage to overcome his emotional detachment, give into his feelings and give love a chance?

I really enjoyed Mogul. I loved the instantaneous and intense chemistry and attraction both Ian and Sara shared, and the feelings that were uncovered when they both least expected it. It was a thrilling ride that I loved. If you love your super hot and steamy romances that pack a punch then be sure to check out Mogul. Ian Ford is sure to make your heart race and your knees weak.

Sara Davies is a gorgeous 28 yr. old woman living in New York. She’s been a dancer her whole life, and attended the NYU dance academy. Her dream is to be on broadway and perform for an audience, but an injury puts her plans on hold. She now works as a concierge at the Four Seasons Hotel to make ends meet.

One evening Sara shares a taxi with a beautiful stranger she laters learns is a guest at her hotel. They share a mind blowing one night stand, and then the following day he’s gone, and nothing but a delicious, unforgettable memory. She doesn’t even know his name.

-I can't remember a woman ever looking at me with such anticipation before.

Ian Ford is a film producer who owns a couple production companies where he produces blockbuster films & documentaries. He recently shared an encounter with a woman that completely captivated him. He’s trying to stay busy working so he won’t think so much about her. He is currently dealing with a lot in his personal life, and isn’t in any frame of mind to start a relationship, so he chose not to pursue anything with her. He’s jaded and bitter from the past, and isn’t emotionally available. Then all his plans go out the window when he runs into Sara. Once they touch passion ignites between them again, and neither can walk away.

All Ian can offer is something physical, and nothing more. They agree to have fun, and keep things casual. Sara has craved Ian, and is thrilled to have found him. Soon they both become obsessed with one another. Will they try for more, or will secrets destroy their chance at love?

This story was fabulous! It was everything I love about a Katy Evans book. She always creates a sexy, addictive story that I can’t get enough of with a leading man that checks off all my boxes, and is mouthwateringly hot as hell!!! Ian Ford was absolutely divine! 💛💛💛

This book is full of clichés. And apparently it's romantic to be treated like a sex toy.
Pathetic weak horny heroine.
Douche bag of married hero (IMO)
Catty wife.

Here's some nice quotes.
“Fucking Ian Ford. My greedy pussy even ripples at the sight of his name! Ugh. I exhale and send out a rather long, detailed text. I’m such a horny little slut.”

“His cock is made for sex and pleasure, and right now nothing can convince me that it wasn’t made for me and only me”
Well technically it's not hers, it's his wife because he's still married. (With divorce proceedings tho)

From our hero.
“Animal sex. Not the kind a mature man would have with the woman he loves. The kind you imagine you’d have with sluts, or strangers.”
Well, he's not in love with the heroine, but he's definitely treating her like a sex toy.

And this is from his lovely wife, which I think it's true the heroine will do anything to be a star.

“I’ll keep her in the show. It’s seriously all this girl wants—she’d pee in a bag if I asked her to. But I’ll only give her a part if you forget about her and come home, Ian. Clean slate.”

“A strawberry-blonde comes up to him flashing a white smile and looks up adoringly into his face. As the woman turns the full force of her charms on him, I want to be rational. He’s the hottest thing in the room, and being here with me says he is available. But he’s still got a wife. Ugh, this is not normal. But those women want a piece of my Dirty Workaholic, and I’m the greediest of them all”
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

The book is fluffy and intense at the same time.

I LOVED the fast-paced start:

“Four Seasons concierge, this is Sara speaking.”
“Sara, this is the gentleman from room 1103.”
“Oh, yes. How can I help you, sir?”
“I’d like your panties in a little wad in my pocket and you thrashing in my bed.”
Blush. “Right away, sir.”

Let's get down to business straight away! After this, I totally invested on the relationship of Sara (the wannabe professional dancer, currently working in a hotel) and Ian (the documentaries film producer).

I did not even mind the fact that Ian was still married when he starts a relationship with Sara or that he is still married for the majority of the book. It was a dead wedding anyway for the past year.

I think the weakest parts of the story were the ones with the characters from Tycoon.

Ian and Sara are adorable together and so much in love. It was love at first sight and it will have strong foundations when you reach the end of the book.

The story has the right amount of angst and it overflows with passion.

I feel… grateful. I don’t know if it’s to him, for making me feel so alive, so hot, and so interesting, or to the universe, for giving me hope that maybe love will find a way, after all.

We remember Sara as Bryn's roomie from TYCOON.

And now she's here to tell her own story - which is taking place at the same time as the first book.

Bryn just moved in with Sara and Sara just had the most amazing one-night stand with her mystery guy in the hotel where she works. Or used to work, because now she's been let go ...

But she can't forget her hot mystery suit!

Ian.

description

We met him for a second in TYCOON when he visited his grandma - who's dog Sara and Bryan are working for as a dog-walker!

Ian is in the middle of a never-ending divorce and it's not the perfect time to start something new. Even though he's mega infatuated by Sara.

He can't get her out of his head. But his stupid ex is not making things easy for him - even though she was the one who cheated!

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO SARA & IAN????
WiLL WE GET A HEA??
READ THE BOOK TO FiND OUT ☺☺☺

Ok ... the story. ☺

I loved it!

I really enjoyed reading it.

It was very sexy and sweet and adorable and I just had to keep on reading to find out how their story would end.

BUT - it was also a tiny little bit too ... uneventful for me. Nothing really happens. We meet. Have sex. Dance around getting together. I don't want him because he's getting a divorce and my parents are getting a divorce too. It was a bit childish here and there. BUT it was still very cute and verrry sexy and I liked all the people in it! Can't wait to hear Becka's story - she seems to be the one with the most exciting story of the three girls! With her mystery Hollywood Star Muse??? ☺

And please don't let me scare you away from reading MOGUL. Ian is MEGA hot and sweet ...

description

... and Sara is adorable too, just a tad too insecure about things. But the story was definitely enjoyable and those few reading hours were definitely NOT wasted - at all!

MOGUL was a really sexy & adorable romance!

Mogul is the second book in the Tycoon series but it can be read as a standalone. This one is about Bryn's roommate, Sara Davies. She's a professional dancer who suffered an injury and works as a concierge at a four star hotel. She meets the hot and enigmatic Ian Ford after sharing a taxi together and he happens to be an elite guest at the hotel she's working at. They had a wild one night stand and briefly parted ways.

Ian kept himself busy while dealing a rough divorce. He isn't ready for a committed relationship as he's working on his trust issues. However, his encounter with Sara stuck on his mind. He's dazzled by her beauty and personality. The attraction between them was undeniably evident and it was sizzling HOT. Damn, the sexy times in this book was freaking steamy as hell! OMFG HOLY HOTNESS 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️

The book was a quick and easy read. I swiftly finished it in one or two sittings and the story was twice better than Tycoon. I love the romance here and the drama has the right amount of angst. It's nice to see a glimpse on Becka's story and I'm excited to read it. Overall, I LOVE IAN FORD. 😍❤️🔥 BYE.

P.S. I love Sara too. 😉

This is an incredibly difficult review for me to write because I want to remain respectful to an author I admire hugely and I also need to be true to an honest review, because that’s who I am as a reviewer.

I simply disliked most things about this book. I found the heroine, Sara both annoying and insipid. Her admiration of Ian was pretty annoying. Her dialogue, particularly her nicknames for Ian, her own private parts and calling herself a ‘horny slut’ just pushed me over the edge. I didn’t gel with Sara at all.

Ian was fine, but he didn’t light a fire in me like so many of Katy Evans’ heroes have in the past. So as you can probably guess, these two together didn’t inspire me either.

The writing in general, again particularly dialogue, wasn’t to my taste. I think I can say MOGUL just wasn’t for me and fell flat in terms of interest and likeability. I know this is a short review, but my general disinterest means I really don’t have anything else to say. I will of course give Katy Evans another try because we have history and so I hope that the next works better for me.

I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.

4 'My Yummy Suit' Stars!
ARC provided by the author via Social Butterfly PR in exchange for an honest review.

You must know by now that I am a massive fan of Katy Evans. I always have crazy high expectations when it comes to her books, even more when I rated the previous one (Tycoon) with my special rating. As you can imagine, Aaric Christos continues being my favorite but Ian Ford definitely did not leave me indifferent. Who does not love a sexy and mysterious billionaire decided to seduce the girl he just met?

So, Mogul is Katy's newest release and, although it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading Tycoon first. Now, let's focuse on the mogul himself. This hot suit appears in Sara Davies' life when they both share a sexual-tension-filled taxi ride to the same hotel. Sara works there, Ian is a client. And they have a smoking hot one night stand. Their lives are supposed to not cross again, right? Of course not! Circumstances bring them together again and that night becomes so much more: a love story.

“Four Seasons concierge, this is Sara speaking.”
“Sara, this is the gentleman from room 1103.”
“Oh, yes. How can I help you, sir?”
“I’d like your panties in a little wad in my pocket and you thrashing in my bed.”

I knew when I started reading Mogul the chemistry between this couple would be like gasoline and fire together: explosive. Katy Evans knows perfectly well how to write one hell of a sex god with a dirty mouth and I love it! Yes, Ian and Sara do not lack on that department. The tension between them is palpable and the sex is off-the-charts-hot. However, I do have to say one thing: it would have been great for me to see a little bit more of that tension on the very beginning. Yes, I know it's a one night stand but even knowing that, I wish it hadn't been that rushed.

I want her, and I don’t like letting go of what I want.

Maybe that's why it took me a while to connect with this couple. I needed more than just two people having lots of sex. I needed to know them. When that happenned, I definitely enjoyed more all the cute, secretive and sexy moments between Ian and Sara. I loved seeing and meeting the Ian Ford that decides not to hide his layers from the woman he is falling for and I also loved seeing how Sara reaches for him and her dreams. I really enjoyed how this couple fins happiness together.

We’re the song and the dance, the tune and the variation, the violin and the player… the ache and the balm that heals it.

Therefore, my rating for Mogul is 4 STARS because who does not love a sexy billionaire giving a second chance at love? I am glad Ian and Sara found each other and how they get their happy ending. As I said, I do wish there had been more wooing and feeling at the start but everything worked great at the end. Now I am surely curious about Becka and whoever will be the man of her dreams! If you enjoyed Tycoon, be sure to check Mogul too, guys!

FOR GOODREADS
ARC
ok..let me just start out by saying that Katy Evans is one of my favourite author. Her Real Series? They are a constant companion, always within reach...always there to get me out of a reading slump. Having said that, It saddens me to admit that I did not enjoy Mogul as much as I thought I would...
At this moment, I must emphasise the fact that Mogul is NOT a bad read.. it's naughty, sexy and at times feels somewhat illicit. But I felt like the story wasn't anything to rave and rant about. Also, I think it's a unwarranted mark against an author we love that we, as readers, expect all their books to rock our world! Remy stole my breath away.. her other books left me spellbound... Mogul left ME feeling unsatisfied. I speak for myself and myself only. You might love it.

Never have I ever pushed away a Katy Evans books, almost Dnf-ing it, reading a few chapters then getting bored or distracted... BUT I found myself doing just that for Mogul.

Now, The truth is, there is no denying the fact that Ian Ford is hot or the fact that the chemistry shared between Sara and Ian is uber steamy!

The choice is yours.

Happy Reading!

Sara Davies is an aspiring Broadway dancer looking for her first break and working as a 5-star hotel concierge. She shares an airport taxi with a businessman to her hotel, where he also happens to be staying. The next day, when the guest in Room 1103 calls with an unusual (and provocative) request, Sara throws her inhibitions out the door and responds. At first she was fine with how they both walked away from the encounter, not ever having shared their names, but she can’t seem to get this man out of her head...and heart...and the same goes for him.

I loved the beginning of this story as it doesn’t waste time getting things started. Of course, I was immediately intrigued by Mr. Room 1103 and wanted to know more about why Sara responded so quickly and willingly. Then the focus changed as we start to learn more about her and Ian Ford, the mystery man in 1103. Both have interesting lives, his more troublesome but hers just as compelling. I liked them both and was delighted that there weren’t any forced dramas for them to fall into unnecessary angst.

The timing of this story intersects with the beginning of Bryn’s relationship with Aaric (from Tycoon) when she becomes Sara’s roommate. Can’t believe I’m saying this but this story stands alone nicely from the first book in the series as Bryn’s relationship development occurs “off camera.” Sebastian York is perfect as Ian (no surprise there!) and Grace Grant delivers her typical youthful performance as Sara. I’m always going to choose the audio format for a Katy Evans book because of these two.

While I enjoyed the story, I would have liked some of the plot elements to have been expanded and fewer of the sexual encounters. Sara and Ian were fun together with witty banter and steamy chemistry. Their out-of-bed relationship made for an entertaining story.

3.5 Best Taxi Ride Ever Stars
* * * 1/2 Spoiler Free
When I was much younger...I moved to NYC, had a "career type job" and learned about Lust, Men and that Look...Yeah, you know the one, the one where you meet someone and you both click in the moment. You see what is ahead... and no, it isn't insta- love... it is this lustful connection and you just want to be devoured.

Well, I have to say, Katy Evans captures that moment perfectly in the beginning of Mogul. These two characters pick up on the vibe they are having and then a game of risk is played in a shared cab... with each one thinking they have the upper hand...The Sexy Suit knows something the young ingenue does not, so when she makes her come on thinking she will get him hot and bothered and then leave him wanting ... she is stunned when her game is called.

All of this plays out so well, it gets a woo hoo from me in how sexy, raw and hot it is... and it does its trick... It gets you totally immersed into the book.

I will say the rest of the the story is good, continues to be sexy and has quite a bit of angsty drama for the couple. There are excellent references to secondary characters and there is the thread of concern for Mr. Sexy to get all his ducks lined up in a row, so to speak.

All positive for a story I would say felt young for me. Not the Mr. Sexy Workaholic but our gal as the scrappy, stubborn and independent did. I think it could be a Me Thing and not a book thing. Evans knows her craft and she has proven it time and time again. So don't think this is not an endorsement for the book. I know most will connect and enjoy.

~~~~~ Before Reading ~~~~~
Lordy, Lordy...
The Book Gods heard my prayer...
I am ready to hail that cab and join the Mogul Right Now!!!
●•●•●•●•●•●•●•
Let's see...
I hail a cab in NYC....
Maybe I must share it...
If I am able to have a HOT SUIT...
Who connects with me sharing this cab...
Then TAXI, I am Over Here!!
One thing I can say for sure is that when you read a Katy Evans book, you know what you're getting and this one is no exception.
Ian and Sara meet when they share a taxi ride from the airport and he ends up at the hotel where she works. She's decided to take control of her life and live a little more so when he invites her to his room, she doesn't hesitate and boy, is it HOT!
I really don't know how to explain it but it was a mixture of some hot, angry sex mixed in with some sweet, soul sharing lovins'. And it was good at first but then it began to feel a bit redundant.
Sara never got Ian's name and when he tells her he can't do a relationship, she tries to let things go. Thankfully, fate had other ideas and they soon meet up again. Unfortunately, Sara finds out something about Ian that she can't let go.
description
Ian's pretty smitten with Sara as well but love hasn't been kind to him and he certainly doesn't want a repeat. He feels that Sara is more but he has to make peace with his past before he can move forward.
And that past doesn't make things easy, of course. But it was great how both Ian and Sara dealt with things.
I really enjoyed having Bryn and Aaric be so involved in the story. It was wonderful getting more of them. We also get to know more of Bryn's friend, Becka. There's some intriguing things going on with her that I can't wait to read in her book, Muse, and it's coming out September 14, 2018.
The story wraps up well. The part with Ian freaking out made me laugh and ended the story on a good note.
Note to self about book: So tired of stories that involve one-night stands that lead to more. *eye roll*
My opinion. Reading is subjective.
Can we think of something else for a story concept?!?!
I was given an advanced reading copy of this story, courtesy of the author but it had no influence whatsoever on my willing and honest review.
4 sweet stars
Mogul is the epitome of two people finding love when they did not expect nor especially wanted to find it.
Take one hot and sexy but brooding famous producer.
Add a lovely free spirited concierge but aspiring dancer.
Put them in a cab together.
Let it simmer and witness the heat building up at lightning pace!
My first impression about the book or rather about Sara was “WTH? What a hussy!” The chemistry and attraction was so intense that she “gave it “ to him mere hours after their first encounter.
And we did not speak of insta-love but rather insta-lust.
Then I was ashamed of my reaction.
If it was the man I had followed and witnessed having sex with a woman mere hours after meeting her I wouldn’t have batted an eyelash! How does it reflect on me? I am all for equal rights and yet it seems that I have these ingrained preconceived notions about a man owning his sexuality but a woman needing feelings to have intercourse….
But I digress
Sara is not a hussy. She does not sleep with everyone. She is a woman going after what she likes and owning her healthy sexual appetite.
She did not expect roses and unicorns after their first encounter. She was not clingy.
Yet she could not forget her hot Suit.
. “I want him to want me; that’s not typically me. I’m usually dreading that they’ll call again, Jen.”
Ian was not looking for a relationship. He is caught in a bad divorce and can’t wait to have the papers signed. Only his ex is far from ready. Driven by his work and true workaholic he has no room for a love affair. But Fate as other designs sometimes…..
Ian and Sara’s romance was sweet, tender but hot! Two people reluctant at love and wanting only something casual. It was heart warming to see these two lovebirds slowly fall in love while trying to deny it was something else than purely sexual.
Character wise, Sara is a lovely heroine.
I liked how Katy made her a modern woman enjoying her body’s needs with being a nymphomaniac either. Sara had a dream and some unexpected turn of events added with Bryn’s friendship made her chase her dream to become a dancer with a renewed fervor.
“You shouldn’t decide for the world, Sara. The world is fickle and doesn’t even know what it wants. Isn’t it better to let others reject you than you yourself rejecting possibilities before even exploring them?”
She is strong, kind, sassy and hard working.
She also was frightened by love based on what happened in her family.
“I’m afraid nothing lasts. Nothing, not even life. I’m afraid of attachment and loss and love and even loss of a love such as dancing.”
Ian is not only a hot bod to lust after (if he looks anything like the cover model that’s no surprise women fall at his feet) but he also is vulnerable inside. He fears being hurt for a second time. He also is “ a good guy”, visiting is grandmother, walking dogs and loyal to his friends and loved ones. Gifted in bed, a little alpha but not too much he is another dreamy book boyfriend.
My only complaint, what would have made me give five stars, was the absence of real angst or big plot twists. You know the “I never saw it coming” element.
That being said it was an easy and light read filled with love and hope. My windows were fogged from the steam going out of my Kindle and if you love heated scenes then you’ll be in heaven as the chemistry was off the charts!
If you are looking for a summer read or a holiday read this would be perfect to read right alongside the pool or at a terrace after a day’s hike.
Have you read it or do you plan to?
Thanks for reading!
Sophie
3 This series might not be for me Stars
I love Katy Evans. I love her Real and President series, but there’s something about this series that I can’t connect with. I thought doing an audio version would better my experience and I think it did, but it wasn’t enough.
I didn’t like the narrators. I know everyone loves them, but I find the female had a too deep voice. Let’s face it, she sounds older and it doesn’t match the Heroine’s character. I’m kind of tired of the male narrator, as much as I like hearing him. I want something different.
BUT they do know how to act and I enjoy the voice transitions.
The storyline was OTT and it should have been simple
I guess you can say these are the easy read NA books, although with the amount of sex, it might be more erotica, I dunno you can take your pick. I’m not saying I didn’t enjoy the steam, because I always do, but I tend to not like steamy books in audio format and since I wasn’t into the book I couldn’t get into the storyline.
I didn’t connect with the characters
Ian is a film producer which was fine. I kind of wanted the story to be wrapped around that, but after I finished the book he could have been anything. This wasn’t the focal storyline.
Sarah works at the hotel, which I really wanted to be the storyline. But it was only a part of it to show how Ian and Sarah meet. She later pursues a dancing career? Umm.. okay. Because she had to give it up and do something else when she broke her ankle. Umm… sure.
Look, I’m all for finding your dreams, but the dancing storyline doesn’t really jive for me. Some dancers dance and practice 24/7 and they NEVER make it to Broadway. But Sarah who doesn’t practice, just happens to pick up her craft several years later, but is still super good? I call BS.
There were too many plot holes
I was ticked with the whole Sarah and dancing thing. Then she is also a dog walker? What? This was all over the place.
Ian also invests in other companies? And that’s also a storyline? I was trying to follow the plot and it was all over the place. It seems like there wasn’t a plot and it was just one thing after another to get the characters to interact.
The best part of the audio was that it was only 6 hours
Gah, I hate to say it. I don’t really care for the one-night stand storyline. This book was all about lust. They basically fell for each other because of his you know what. It was just not my cuppa.
I love Katy, but this book was not as convincing as I would have wanted. The characters were OK, thrilling and daring, but the plot was practically non-existing. It only focused on Ian and Sara's relationship and sexual tension, without giving too much credit to the plot and what actually needs to happen in a 200 and something book.
4.5 “OMG. YES.” Stars!
Katy Evans has always been and will always be a “drop everything and read” author for me. I love the way she tells a story, love the way she writes her heroes, which are always so masculine and sexy and delicious. I’m obsessed with her characters, the way they see the world, the way her men love their woman, the way they treat them like the queens they are, and Ian in Mogul is EVERYTHING. Smitten with Sara immediately, the push and pull between these two is more than intoxicating, more than heart-pounding, it’s all the things I love about a Katy Evans romance. She pulls you in, keeps you on the edge, and steals your heart from the beginning to the end.
Mogul is a standalone that ties into Tycoon. Both can be read by themselves, however, there is cross over between the two books. In Mogul we see Aaric and Bryn again (tosses confetti), and I absolutely love that. Bryn happens to be Sara’s roommate. Mogul starts of hot hot hot with Sara and her one night stand Ian! These two are like comets, colliding and exploding! Scorchingly hot, the heavy chemistry is downright juicy. Sara is a concierge at The Ritz and Ian is a business man who comes and stays there often. I could not get enough of the back and forth between these two, loved the way they fought their attraction and attachment until they couldn’t anymore. Ian is a man with some baggage, definitely trying to get over a betrayal, and reading him with Sara was so sweet and intense. I loved it.
Overall, Mogul is a light romance. There is angst, but it’s not crazy. Katy peppers the heart-aching moments with lots of steamy goodness and dialogue that’s guaranteed to bring a smile to your face. A one sitting read, this heartfelt story will leave you feeling happy, and I think Katy Evans fans will be quite pleased. She brings MAJOR heat to this one, along with some playful banter and flirty scenes that have your heart skipping in bliss. I more than love it. And I can’t ever get enough of Katy’s heroes. They’re simply the best. I highly recommend Mogul to anyone who loves to be wooed, to be romanced. This is one heck of a swoony novel from start to finish.
There’s no one who writes a better man-in-a-suit than Katy Evans. I adore her alpha, possessive heroes, and the women who knock them off their feet. Mogul is her latest standalone, and though it is connected to a previous novel of hers, Tycoon, it can be read as a standalone. It’s sexy, intense, and romance, basically everything I hope and expect from a Katy Evans book. If you’re a long-time fan, you’ll definitely want to get your hands on Mogul!
When Ian and Sara meet, they experience a chemistry that neither of them can deny. They fall into temptation when Ian checks into the hotel Sara works at and have the best night of their life – but they leave each other without exchanging names or numbers. Sara unfortunately gets fired and they have almost no way of finding each other again… until a chance encounter with Sara’s new job as a dog walker for Ian’s grandmother has them reuniting. But Sara finds out that Ian is currently in the middle of a divorce with a wife he’s been separated from for years – can she trust Ian’s true intentions, or will she forever be on the sidelines?
I love how slightly obsessive both Katy’s heroes and heroines become when they meet the love of their life. Katy writes her characters falling in love in such a magical way that I feel as if I’m falling alongside with them. I highly enjoyed getting to know Ian and Sara and watching them work their way towards a hard-earned HEA they deserve. Sara teaches Ian to give love a second chance and that there’s more to life than work, while Ian teaches Sara to go after her dreams. I couldn’t get enough of these two, and that’s my only complaint: that the book was too short. I would’ve loved delving a little more into Ian and Sara’s lives, but I’ll take what I can get from Katy Evans. Right now, I’m dying for a certain secondary character to get her book!
There is no mucking around or slow build with this story. It gets off to a sexy start pretty much instantly. So much so that I thought that maybe I had a missed a bit of the beginning but maybe I’m used to things moving at a slower pace. In saying that getting right to the good stuff turned out to be a good thing ☺
Sara is a dancer, hoping for her big break but when she is not auditioning she works as a concierge at a 5 star hotel. A very hot and impulsive evening with one of the high profile guests is not something she has ever done before but there is something about the hot man in a suit that just drew her sex kitten side out of hiding.
One night of incredible sex for both of them and then you move on with your life right? Sara cannot stop thinking about the hot stranger, she doesn’t even know his name. He has the upper hand really, he knows where she works and could get back in touch with her if he wants to. Sara can only day dream about seeing him again one day.
Ian Ford is the hot stranger that is still reeling from the memories of his one night with Sara. His life is complicated right now and he wasn’t looking to find anything other than a one night sort of deal when he met Sara. However, he cannot get her out of his head.
Eventually they cross paths again and the heat between them is just too intense to ignore. He can’t offer her anything more than some no strings attached fun and there is no harm in that right? Best laid plans can often take a path of their own and very quickly the strings start to weave together into something more. Before they know it they are both in deep. Ian was not looking for Sara but she seems to be the perfect person for him. It is often said that you can find what you were looking for when you least expect it. When you are not looking for love it finds you.
This can be read as a stand alone but I think that reading Tycoon first will give this one better clarity as that story is playing out in the background of this book.
SWEET SIGH. I’m BREATHLESS from another Katy Evans book that BEGUILED me the whole time reading. Sinfully sexy and deliciously dreamy, MOGUL is a heady hit of HEART and HEAT. This sweet and steamy sensation made me SMOLDER and SWOON. Words drenched with desire clenched my core as Mogul made me a minx. Mogul is so sensual ... so sweet ... SO EVERYTHING.
”You’re dreaming.”
“Of you.”
No one writes alpha gods in suits like Katy Evans: smoking hot and sensual with intimidating intensity. Like Katy Evans' other highly-addictive heroes, Ian has an animal magnetism and radiates power: devastatingly handsome, commanding, and caring. This all alpha OWNED EVERY OUNCE OF ME.
I want my touch to be the last one on her skin.
Ian commanded me and I was as helpless under his spell as much as the heroine, Sara. Sara is as beautiful as she is bold, a heroine who speaks her mind. So refreshing! I admired her and her sassy mouth. Paired together, this hero and heroine are electric with chemistry that combusts. In a slow burn that seamlessly steams off the pages, Katy Evans melds Mogul’s broken hero and heroine together in the most breathtaking of ways.
He sparks my sparks, all of them.
Mogul is a HOT, HEADY, and HEARTFELT inferno of flames that SPARKS to life! The electricity surges through this story. Mogul’s paralyzing intensity and palpable chemistry pull the romance lover under its spell. Mogul is that MAGICAL and MELT-WORTHY. This Mogul is pretty irresistible.
We’re the song and the dance, the tune and the variation, the violin and the player . . . the ache and the balm that heals it.
💋💋💋💋 melt-worthy and magical kisses
5 Stars!
I adored this story of love conquering all! I really enjoy Katy Evans’s writing style and the way it allows me to feel involved in the story and the beautiful romance. This book was captivating, engaging and romantic, I just could not put it down. The way this story is written, so full of depth and raw emotions, is what makes it so absorbing and believable. This sexy story is very much character driven, and the author takes the time to build her characters and their relationship. I really felt like I’d got to know them and their happy ending felt completely believable. I loved watching them find solace in each other.
Sara is everything I love in a strong female protagonist. She has a vulnerable and innocent quality in her, yet her strength and her hope to one day fulfill her dreams is what makes her so endearing.
Ian Ford…. This sinfully delicious hero made my heart melt into a puddle of goo! He is charming, thoughtful, caring and utterly swoon worthy. And yet he can be jaded, elusive and even brutally honest at times. Ian is bitter over his failed marriage and impending divorce. It is far from settled and his ex’ s blackmail has taken a toll on him.
Neither expected each other to mean to them what they did but they both acknowledge that their mutual feelings are anything but casual. It was absolutely beautiful to watch them fall for each other. The romance between Sara and Ian was perfectly portrayed. Their relationship grew in a realistic manner. I especially enjoyed watching Sara step into the light, with Ian’s full support.
Of course, the ending is a foregone conclusion, but it's still magic every time. This one is definitely a book I finished with a sigh, a smile … and a huge book hangover. Although this is a standalone book, it’s part of a series and in being so we also get the chance to revisit some parts of Tycoon's Bryn and Aaric’s story, as both stories run simultaneously.
RECENSIONE QUI: https://thereadingslove.blogspot.com/...
description
Si dice che l’amore arriva quando meno te l’aspetti e io ci credo fermamente! Vi è mai capitato di ricercare l’amore in ogni piccola cosa? Quando si ha fame di sentimenti è facile ingannarsi: basta uno sguardo insistente, un gesto inaspettato, un sorriso anche solo accennato per farci credere di aver trovato quello di tutta una vita solo che poi si rivela solo un mero abbaglio! Allora arrivi ad un punto in cui, disilluso/a, smetti di cercarlo, d'altronde è una gran bella fatica mettere in gioco il proprio cuore! Ma si sa, l’amore è un attimo ed ecco che, inaspettato, si fa avanti, ti colpisce in pieno petto e non ti lascia scampo! E allora non esistono più delusioni passate, cuori spezzati o traditi, esiste solo lei/lui e il sentimento che vi unisce. I protagonisti di questo nuovo romanzo di Katy Evans sono Sara e Ian. Entrambi hanno un gran bel bagaglio emotivo alle spalle, seppur di natura diversa, non sono quindi alla ricerca di una relazione stabile eppure basta una notte di pura e bruciante passione per unirli irrimediabilmente. Lui è un uomo deluso dall'amore che dedica anima e corpo al lavoro e alla società cinematografica di cui è proprietario. Lei è una giovane donna che ha dovuto rimboccarsi le maniche imparando a reinventarsi. A seguito di un brutto incidente infatti ha dovuto mettere da parte i suoi sogni eppure, con amore e perseveranza, continua a coltivarli nella speranza di vederli un giorno finalmente realizzati! Care Readers questa serie riserva un posto speciale nel mio cuore: il primo volume infatti è stato il primo libro che ho recensito per questo bellissimo blog quindi… che ve lo dico a fare? Ho imparato a conoscere e ad apprezzare la scrittura semplice e scorrevole di Katy Evans che, anche questa volta, ha saputo regalarci una storia più che godibile pur senza grosse pretese. Sara e Ian sono due protagonisti che incuriosiscono e attraggono anche se purtroppo, a mio parere, restano comunque poco caratterizzati. Anche in questo libro infatti entra in gioco fin dalle prime pagine una fortissima attrazione tra i due che finisce inevitabilmente per mettere in secondo piano tutto il resto. L’autrice, durante la lettura, rimarca più e più volte, attraverso la ripetizione fin troppo eccessiva di nomignoli, lo stacanovismo di lui e la passione per il ballo di lei senza però aggiungere altro alla caratterizzazione, soprattutto fisica, dei personaggi che finisce per risentirne. La storia senza dubbio scorre rapida complice anche l’assenza di grossi colpi di scena: l’amore tra i due è inaspettato, istintivo e passionale al punto che nel corso della lettura incontrerete numerose scene di sesso piuttosto esplicite ma per nulla volgari. Nota dolente? Il discorso sulla contraccezione o per meglio dire il non discorso sulla contraccezione. I due protagonisti si conoscono appena eppure si lasciano trasportare da questa passione travolgente senza porsi minimamente il problema dell’utilizzo o meno di un contraccettivo. E non vale solo la prima volta ma anche per le numerose a seguire, il che mi ha parecchio indisposto. Il punto di forza in questo volume, come anche per il primo d'altronde, resta invece il protagonista maschile. Ian è un uomo che, seppur ferito dall'amore, riconosce fin da subito i propri sentimenti nei riguardi di Sara restando coerente fino alla fine.
A shared taxi ride, an invitation, a one night stand with a sexy suit that leads to months of searching for the man with the dark eyes. Being a huge Katy Evans fan I am sorry to say that I was a little disappointed with this book. The characters were likable and their slow developing relationship and hot chemistry was great but the lack of story line left it very stagnate and boring even with the hot sex.
