This is a book about treasuring each day, observing its rhythms and slowing down. Ian use to be my pastor back in my Uni days and found his teaching brilliant, so when I saw this book I thought it would be interesting to read and I wasn't disappointed! Although written over 10 years ago, this book still speaks into our culture today, in fact I would say it hits the nail on the head when the book talks about a culture of busyness and distractions. It explores ways as a Christian to enjoy each day the Lord has made, but this isn't a "how-to" book, its more a collection of thoughts placed before you. Well worth a read!
This is not a "how to" book rather a "why do" book. Very good, he is writing about how Christians can incorporate prayer/contemplation into ordinary everyday lives. How we can learn to live in the present rather than in the past or future, to pay attention.
