Rate this book
Author Jacob Jones dives deep into his addiction in the pages of this book. He uncovers many unanswered questions asked by so many afflicted with an addiction. The first part of the book tracks his early years and descent into the grips of drug abuse. This all culminates in a terrifying hospital stay. From the hospital, to the rehab, his journey of hope begins. In the following chapters he reveals insights from the lens of stories from active addiction, and the family. He proceeds to shed light on stories from rehabilitation facilities which have previously been a source of fear and unknown for first time recovering addicts and their families. All of these roads lead to the final chapter where he uncovers the problem in solution in easy, digestible language. If you or a loved one is suffering from addiction, this book is a must read!

INSIDE THE MIND OF A FORMER ADDICT

Having lost my 19 year relationship due to his addiction/s... and truly not understanding what had happened... it was and is a very painful nightmare... I have been on a journey to understand and learn and also heal... for people like, Jacob (the name of the man I love deeply who is gone to addiction), to speak rawly and openly about their own journeys... helps me to continue to heal and breathe... and find my way thru ... and maybe one day to the other side as I rebuild my own life... and continue to pray and send love... despite all he did... all the pain... to my no longer Ionger person... maybe he will one day find his way home to himself... and maybe one day I will heal.

Awesome testimony of experience, strength and hope!

The writings in this book are so real and heart touching! I had to actually put it down a couple of times just to process all the feelings, but it was great to experience that!

“There was a point in my rehab when I said I will never use drugs and alcohol again and I will be okay with that”
