Alien abductions are real.

I was the third female awakened aboard the spacecraft that specialized in kidnapping females. Their mission? To sell us to other galaxies.

Human female Numbers One and Two didn't make it, but I was lucky. I was able to comprehend instructions from Drakar, a caged abductee from the planet Blaedonia. Together we formulate a plan to escape for both us and the ten other unawakened Earthlings.
Lucky for Drakar, the spaceship crash-lands back on his planet. Unlucky for the Earthlings, we'll never be able to travel back home.

We'll have to learn to adapt.

Blue Barbarian series, Book #1, Niki & Drakar's story.

I definitely went down the rabbit hole with this one! Very similar in idea to Ruby Dixon’s Ice Planet Barbarians. You'll fall in love with a new bunch of blue guys. Believe me, it's worth it! I really enjoyed the story and look forward to reading more books in this series.

**Amended to add that I've read all of the books in this series and they're GREAT!

OK, I think I've found another favorite author :D
If you like Ruby Dixon's Ice Planet Barbarians, this series is definitely for you.

I really like Niki and Drakar and their chemistry is panty-melting.

Some minor issues:
- needs a bit of editing
- the girls are all accepted into the alien tribe...but wouldn't the alien females be a bit jealous? The author didn't really mention if there was a lack of females. Why were all the hunters single then?
- the abducted women all accept their new circumstances too easily. No one mentions their life back home, or family they've left behind. Were they abducted because they were all lonely single women?

Fell Short of its Potential but Still Interesting

First, this is not a 'copycat' as the plot has been repeated many times so the actual telling of the story (written words) is unique to this author. If the author chose a color other than blue, I think people would not be so closely aligning it to Ruby Dixon's barbarians series. Second, the story had so much more potential but fell short. The dialogue was not believable -- sounded too much like human conversations. Plus there was the beam of light from human eyes to transfer language to other humans--really? Third, the book is over price at $4.99. These three factors contributed negatively to my rating. That said , I did enjoy this read as I tend enjoy these crazy plots. It's not at the same level as Ice Barbarians so don't try to compare...just enjoy it and take it for what it is. Not sure if I'll buy more in the series as the ending had a conclusion but left me with a feeling that I read 2/3 of a long short story. The author had good character development and did well in world building. There are some funny parts, and if a story can make me laugh, I'm pleased with my purchase. After the negatives and positives are considered, this is a strong 3-star story.

Good start to a new alien abduction series.
Loyal Hero. No cheating.
No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine.
No ex drama.
Interesting new culture, language, food and planet development.
HFN.
Breadcrumbs dropped for future books in series.

My only criticism is I found a few bits repetitive, repeating events that happened to the tribe for example, bout events to do with their treatment by the kidnappers.

This book is almost a carbon copy of Ice Planet Barbarians by Ruby Dixon.

Big blue tribe leader MMC? Check.
Curly, brown haired FMC? Check.
Ladies kidnapped from Earth by asshole aliens, then crash land onto the MMC's planet? Check.
Living mostly in caves? Check.
Alien parasites? Check (though, admittedly, not as important plot-wise in the Blue Barbarian Series.)

The biggest difference between the 2 series is that instead of an Ice Planet, Abducted takes place on a planet similar to the one featured in the movie "Pitch Black" (2000). It's normal during the day, but when it get darks a bunch of scary creatures come out to kill you!

Honestly, I really loved it. This isn't surprising because the Ice Planet Barbarians series (and it's spin-offs) are my biggest guilty pleasure. The only reason I'm not rating this book higher is because there really isn't a main conflict to the story! The kidnapper aliens are taken care of before the halfway point of the book, and after that it's basically just smut and world-building for the next hundred pages. This isn't BAD necessarily, but it's just not gripping! I wish there could've been some type of conflict (maybe the women adjusting to the new planet, or Nikki having difficulty coming to terms with her roll as Queen) but instead it just feels like this book is a preview for the rest of the series.

If this series was on Kindle Unlimited, I feel like I would devour it in a week but since it isn't, I'm not sure when (or if) I'll continue. But if you can afford to, I would definitely recommend picking this book up and giving it a try!

I loved Space Babies (Purple People Book 1) by Rena Marks so I tried another Rena Marks book. Abducted (Blue Barbarian, #1) by Rena Marks had potential but it quickly devolved into a smut fest. The story was sacrificed to accommodate repetitive sex scenes.

I'm not exactly offended by the borrowing of Native American looks...

HOWEVER!

By the time they said "Native American" for the fourth time, I was done. By trying to be PC they ended up even less PC. The word "savage" got thrown in at one point. "Proud chief" was another one. Congrats, you win Indian Bingo! Come collect your wampum!

I was so confused by the dichotomy of the hero knowing that cameras would be turned off in order to conserve power to the ship, but also referred to cars as "little moving boxes."

Maybe if the story was edited for consistency and sensitivity, I would give it another try. I also have to say that I'm a huge fan of all things Ruby Dixon BUUUUT she's the reason I checked this book out -- she gave the series big thumbs up. If the queen of blue barbarians says its good, its good, right?

A great series beginning! Blue barbarians - what an unusual world is set up here! I very much enjoyed our H/h and the others rescued from the damaged space ship. Great potential for on-goings stories, and even a link to another of the author's SciFi series. Lots of good reading here! I'm looking forward to reading the next book.

I liked it

I think the obvious similarity, based on the title, to Ruby Dixon’s Ice Planet Barbarians series made it seem like this book might copy that one. However, the blue and barbarian parts are the only real similarities I as far as I could tell. There is nothing like a “cootie,” the planet is not icy except in winter and the writing is pretty different too. Basically, if you are hesitating because of this similarities to Ruby Dixon, don’t. However, I gave 3 stars because any book that doesn’t make me laugh or cry automatically gets 4 stars, and the beginning of the book seems confusing. There are a couple of imagery paragraphs that could use some clarification and some sentences don’t make sense. But that goes away once the women are rescued.

I will continue to read the rest of this series and check out her other books, because I did enjoy reading it.

If you’re looking for a book with no drama, no angst, but there are sexy scenes, this could be for you. I found it boring. For a book where a girl is kidnapped by aliens and then has to live on another planet with blue primitive barbarians nothing really happens. I couldn’t help but compare this to Ruby Dixon’s series since you know they’re both about kidnapped human girls who get stranded on a planet with nice blue primitive barbarian aliens who mate them. I love the Ruby Dixon series, but I did not like the writing style here. This series does get bonus points for the aliens having unique man parts.

Niki wakes up to find herself strapped to a table with alien's looking at her. She is about to scream when a voice across the room tells her not to scream. She listens and when the alien's are done examining her they throw her in a cell with another alien. She can't see him since its too dark, but he can see her just fine. He becomes her comfort, her safety and her accomplice for getting out.

This was a cute little abduction read. I loved that she got to know him in the dark and didn't see him until after she decided she liked him.

Everything was to nice too quickly, where are the screaming women you have been kidnapped and now you are on an unknown world with 7 ft blue aliens and its like a walk in the park. To make science Fiction believable you have to invest in the story, characters that are believable, that you have a vested interest in but because everyone was so nice, I honestly didn't care. will I bother with rest of the series then the answer is no, will I check out other books by this author absolutely. This just wasn't my cup of tea

Niki and Drakar

Earth women are abducted by gray aliens who have previously abducted Drakar. The gray aliens shine a very bright light into Niki’s eyes, once she awakes she can understand what they’re saying but she pretends she can’t. They throw her into a holding cell with someone that she can’t see. He holds her through the dark and cold night, sharing his heat.

Turns out he’s Drakar, a seven foot blue alien. They are forced to mate or Niki will be no use to the gray guys who hope to breed Drakar for strong slaves.

Very inventive world. I’ll be reading further

I really liked this and if it were on KU, I would have already have downloaded the next one. The fact that I have to pay for each one individually is slightly painful for me.

It was very similar to Ruby Dixon’s IPB series. There are a few differences and I don’t love the differences but they weren’t awful. (For instance, all the women adapt pretty easily to life on a primitive planet.) I will most likely read more in the series given that I can’t find anything else I want to read right now.

Drama

This is a intriguing series. I like the way it starts with Drakar and how Nikki reacted to him. This was romantic especially because he takes care of her. They are abducted and experiment on however the aliens crash and now it is about survival. I like how everyone works together. I just can't wait to find out how the community starts to work.

Good story!

This was a good story. The humans crash land on a planet inhabited by blue barbarian people. They have to learn to survive. This is Nikki and Drakar's story. He's the king of his people. The negatives of the book, it was a little long and it had some typos.

Dumb

If you like to read about sex with blue aliens, this is the book for you. If you want to read a good book, this isn't it. I can't finish it because it is so silly. The characters are unbelievable.

Abducted

Good story, characters and world building but I found the plot a bit lacking. Plus, it ended very abruptly and felt unfinished to me, I assume with the intention of you reading the next book which I’m undecided on.
