Alexander “Rush” Markov has been given an ultimatum by his team—shape up or ship out.

Alex is celebrating his biggest season in professional hockey, and he’s enjoying every minute of it—perhaps a little too much. He’s been non-stop partying like a rockstar since his team won it all, and management isn’t pleased. Next thing Alex knows, he’s been exiled to a remote island with orders to lay low, stay out of trouble, and avoid one-night stands.

Rosalind Newcomb is the quintessential good girl, and she’s fine with her role. Sure, she gets lonely and wishes for a special someone, but the choices on Madrona island are slim to none. When a panty-melting mystery man disrupts the peace and quiet in her bookstore, it’s dislike at first sight. The infuriating man turns her ordered life upside down and inside out and has her thinking about hot summer nights and tangled sheets. Only Alex isn’t who she thinks he is, and love isn’t all hearts and roses.

As Alex battles who he pretends to be and who he really is, he also resists falling in love for the first time in his life. His intense feelings have him ready to bolt, and only he can decide if love is worth fighting for.

Deflected was a Game On In Seattle, Seattle Sockeyes series book by Jami Davenport.

Alex “Rush” Markov was a star on the Seattle Sockeyes NHL team. He had been with them since the beginning of the franchise but hadn’t grown up much. He played hard, partied hard and was with different women every night. He had no plans of slowing down until the team mandated his off season at a remote island near Seattle to relax and settle down quietly.

Rosalind Newcomb was the local island bookstore owner. She was born and raised on the island and never wanted to be anywhere different. She was very set in her ways, manipulated structure, and despised disorder.

Davenport took us through the clash between Alex and Rosalind while revealing a few secrets here and there. It was a lighthearted read.

I enjoyed the plot, but I wasn’t a huge fan of Alex or Rosalind. I couldn’t quite grasp their connection. Not bad writing, just not my favorite characters of the series.

I did love the island. It took me back to the Tyler days with Homer and the Veterans club (Snap Decision, Seattle Steelheads Originals #2). I loved it then and loved it now.

I’m curious where Davenport will take this next. Alex’s teammate Cave may be next, however, he may be traded too so one never knows! Either way, looking forward to see what Davenport brings us!

5 star Review Deflected by Jami Davenport

Alexander “Rush” Markov plays professional hockey, hard, fast and parties even harder. Alex is also a closet reader and he often escapes into the world of book. After over celebrating his teams Stanley Cup win, he knows he needs to ease off his partying ways.

When management decides he needs an intervention, Alex is packed off to Madrona Island with instructions to keep a low profile and to get his life and his future back on track.

Rosalind Newcomb owns a book shop and she is annoyed when Alex begins to turn her life upside down.

Alex really is the quintessential bad boy, hot, alpha and so sexy that women find him hard to resist until he meets Rosalind. She wants nothing to do with him at first but as she gets to know the real Alex, walls begin to tumble and the chemistry builds although she has no idea who he really is.

From the start of Deflected I wanted these two to get together and remain that way. However lies told, even by omission can pollute and destroy a relationship before it can become established.

What will happen when Rosalind finds out the truth? Will Alex take a chance on love or will he run before he can get to involved?

I have enjoyed this book so so much.
I liked the enemies to lovers plot and the main characters banters were entertaining.

Alex and Rosalind story is really nice, a famous hockey player with a melting panties smile the first and a lovely bookstore owner the latter. They didn't start their relationship with the right foot, hating each other on the spot.Fortunately Madrona Island is not so big and they keep meeting each other and little by little they grow and start to know and understand each other better.
Will Alex forget his wild party days in order to start a committed relationship? Will Rosalind stop planning her life and trust herself enough to take the right decision and live outside her box?

Jami Davenport is one of my favourite sports romance author and Deflected is another good read for me.

Oh, yeah that cover model is Alex!! Wow how fun to read about the islands off Washington coast. I've been on the ferries and to Victoria so I could picture scenery. It was fun to read about island life. The author alludes to the Playboy lifestyle but it's pretty tame (not explicit) yet you know that going from movie star or models to small town bookstore owner would be A LOT!!!
Author made us feel that Roz was out of element when they went to Victoria and Alex got spotted as a celebrity.
So great romance has HEA in spite of it all.

I just couldn't put this book down last night. I was so intrigued to see what was going to happen and then before I knew it the book was done. Alex and Rosalind are more alike than they think, but can she get over his reputation? Will he finally admit he's ready for love? You will have to read it to find out. This was a very well written book and I look forward to more.

Alex is all about the playboy lifestyle til his management get pissed and send him to a small island to get his stuff together. He meets Roz quickly and opens his mouth and ruins it lol. These two are like oil and water and there banter is amazing. I love that Roz had no idea who she was and even when she was told she didn't automatically google him. Im glad that Alex gives her breaks to shut down and breath before he gets forceful and takes over situations. Im so glad that Alex doesn't take no for a answer and makes her listen even when she doesn't want too.

When party boy and pro-hockey player Alex “Rush” Markov is sent to a remote island in the off season by his team’s management to tone down his behaviors and stay out of trouble, he feels exiled and wonders how he will spend his time with no entertainment to keep him busy.

When he walks into the small town bookstore to indulge his secret love of reading, he knows immediately that his summer just became a lot more interesting. There’s no denying his attraction for the sassy owner who doesn’t fall at his feet or even seem to recognize who he is, and instead calls him out for his rude behaviors and kicks him out of her store.

Rosalind Newcomb likes order and playing by the rules. She has a game plan, and she’s sticking to it even if she would rather be writing romance novels full time. Though she can’t deny her attraction to the handsome and cocky Russian sports star, she knows he isn’t a good choice for her. She doesn’t do casual and she knows it could never be more than a summer fling. And, he’s annoying.

But the more time they spend together, the more they both start discovering about not only each other but themselves as well. Alex isn’t only the persona he portrays and Rosalind may be up for a chance at love, even if it only lasts a summer. Can this opposites attract couple of small town good girl and pro-athlete playboy find a way to make it work once they are no longer wrapped in the bubble of their remote island summer fling?

Jami Davenport’s Deflected was truly a gift to her fans! This book was crazy sweet and super hot! I loved Alex and Rosalind so much as a couple that I couldn’t get enough of this book.

For book after book in this series, the glimpses readers caught of Rush were that of a player who only cared about finding his next fling. To learn that he was a closet bookworm was fantastic! I also loved delving deeper into the persona he plays for others versus who he really was. He was really a fun character to get to know.

Rosalind was a fun contradiction as well. She was all about having a plan . . . but learning she secretly wrote hockey romances was pure genius! Even better was when Alex got hooked on her series without realizing she was the author. I loved that she finally decided to give Alex a chance . . because their romance was both sweet and spicy!

Jami Davenport fans will love some of the other athletes from previous books that make an appearance in Deflected and romantics will flip over the grand gesture that will either cause this couple to find their happy ever after or break them apart forever.

Deflected was a really fun additional to the Seattle Sockeyes series and Rosalind and Rush have become my favorite couple by this author to date. 5 stars!

🔥 She almost sees into his soul, and rips the rug of self protection out from under his feet. 🔥

Jami Davenport is my rock-star author of Ice Hockey romances since I discovered her books several years ago. She has built a complete literary sports world, where readers of this Seattle world are spoiled for choice of codes that include, Ice Hockey, Baseball and Football, and I have loved every book that she has written in these series, including this book, Deflected.

Alexander “Rush” Markov hides his true passion of book nerd deep behind the facade that he is known for and actively cultivates; party animal and a player with bad English and a strong accent who spreads his sexual favours far and wide. Those activities are starting to be played out in public, and Team Management aren’t happy. He’s no longer a rookie, and they want him to step up as a good example to the young ones, or his position on the team may no longer be tenable.

He’s sent to Madrona Island to cool off and dry out.

I loved Rosalind Newcomb. Books were her passion, so she could almost be perfect for Alexander, except, she is such a structured planner, that she didn’t plan on this hot and gorgeous male specimen coming into her quiet bookshop and turning everything in her life upside down. Their first interaction started with him coming onto her, and ending with her booting him out of her bookstore on his backside!! How could this have happened to ... him? Women love him and would give anything to have him accept anything that they put on offer. But, she didn’t know him from a bar of soap.

I also love a book where the chemistry is so strong that other characters can barely wade through it, and this was definitely the case between Ros and Alex. Even better for Alex was that her parents supported a summer relationship with him, knowing that their daughter needed to break out of the confines of her rigid plans. The more time they spent together the more she saw beneath his facade, and he saw future plans forming in his mind.

Could it be that Alex is going to put his rabid party lifestyle to bed like those hockey heroes in the series before him, or maybe he will see his plans will go up in smoke when Ros finally googles his name and breaks her own heart as well as his. 4.5 Stars for another fantastic read from the Seattle series.

Alex, aka Rush, Markov has been celebrating winning his biggest hockey season ever, and it's raised some eyebrows from the higher ups. So now, he's being shipped off to a remote island to chill out & not get into trouble, or basically his career with the Seattle Sockeyes could be over. Alex thinks he's about to die on the boring, small community on Madrona Island, until he meets good girl, Rosalind Newcomb. She's very uptight, and he very much enjoys pushing her buttons. Rosalind sticks to a strict schedule, not coloring outside the lines whatsoever, even in her bookstore. And she's even a romance author, but writes under a pen name, so very few people know that she does. There's definitely a shortage of men on the small island, so when she lays eyes on Alex, she is instantly attracted to him, until he opens his mouth, and all bets are off. This story was all kinds of frustrating push & pull as the chemistry between the antagonists took a bit to really fire up. See, Rosalind drove me nuts, as her uptight & rigid self really stressed me out while reading, because frankly, she needed some shake up in her life. Hell, even her parents thought she needed a damn fling. I kept screaming for Alex to throw her down & have his way with her, but I was afraid she would be wearing granny panties for heavens sake. I was never so glad when the chemistry wouldn't be denied anymore, and they lit the sky up! Of course, some drama came along to bring on the angst, along with a twist or two to have the colorful metaphors thrown down, so this story was definitely different from others in the series. I loved it even as stressed out as Rosalind made me, so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Book 2 in the Madrona Island spin off from Game On in Seattle and this is Alexander “Rush” Markov’s story. This like all the other books in this series can be read as a stand-alone but I’m sure once you pick up one of these stories you will want to learn more about these hot Seattle hockey players and their partners.
Alex and his team have just won the Stanley Cup and that’s means and lots of partying and plenty of wild nights for the man nicknamed Rush but the team owners have other plans and if he wants to keep his contract he needs to spend a month on the remote Madrona Island.
Rosalind Newcomb is the owner of the bookstore on the Island and on the face of it is the quintessential good girl but at times she gets lonely and finds herself wishing for that special man to arrive on the Island. Alex may be a swoon worthy hockey player but he also loves to read so the bookstore is his first point of call when he arrives on Madrona but when he disrupts the peace and quiet of her store its hate at first sight for the pretty store owner, will Alex be able to win her over..
Alex and Rosalind are meant to be and I found myself hoping and wishing for a HEA for this adorable couple but Alex is not a relationship man and Rosalind may not like the man he was before he met her so is it possible for love to win the day I guess you need to read the book to find that out. I love the chemistry this couple share, I love the banter and I love everything about Madrona Island and it’s residents who all seem to have a part to play in match making for the locals and team players from the Seattle Sockeyes. Looking forward to who’s next in this great series.

**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**

Alexander "Rush" Markov plays hockey for the Seattle Sockeyes and after finishing his most rewarding season yet, he's been partying hard. Probably a little too hard, at least that's the stance from team management. He's notorious for partying and liking women and when he starts making headlines, the team steps in. Alex is sent to Madrona Island and told that he needs to keep a low profile and clean up his act, otherwise he might be sent packing all the way off the team.

Rosalind Newcomb is a Madrona Island native and she runs the book shop on the island. She's very much the good girl and she definitely is a romantic. She really wants that special someone in her life, but she hasn't found that person yet.

When Alex finds his way into the bookshop to feed his joy of reading, Rosalind is immediately on the defensive because this handsome, alpha male is peaking her interest, yet he also drives her crazy. When an omission occurs, Roz throws walls up faster than you can say go. Will Alex be able to crumble the walls that Roz has built around her heart? And, will Roz be able to bring out the real Alex in the process?

There is no doubt these two have chemistry and when they are able to get past their own insecurities, they are amazing together. It was great to see how they were able to bring out the best in one another. I wanted things to work for them as soon as the book started. This is definitely worth adding to your summer TBR pile!

I love Alex and Rosalind's story! If there is one thing I love to see, it's when a bad boy player meets someone he actually wants to change for. When Alex Markov is sent to Madrona Island by the coach to clean up his act because he has been non-stop binge partying since they won the Cup and that simply wasn't going to fly anymore; he meets Rosalind, and she does not like him at all. This is something new for Alex since he is used to women fawning all over him. She is nothing at all like any other woman he has ever met. Obviously she decides to give him a chance or we would have no story to read. But it is watching the transition in their relationship and their personal growth that is so wonderful and so well written by Jami. Seeing Alex basically taken out of his comfort zone and brought to his knees by Rosalind, who is nothing like the hook-ups he is used to, is just so awesome. She is able to see past his playboy/party boy past and give him a chance to be who he really is deep down when he is with her. Things were not totally smooth sailing, but then that would be boring. Alex is actually quite sweet to go along with all that sexy, and a lot deeper than he portrays himself but he has always hidden that part from the public and even his teammates. Rosalind brings out all the best in him and honestly he does the same for her since she has been hiding a very important part of herself too. I love how all of that plays out for her.
I love what they do for each other and how they make the other blossom. Another great story in this series!

Alexander “Rush” Markov is the bad boy of all bad boys, on the ice and off, which has earned him a reputation... one that his boss would like him to shed in the off season. He has issued Rush an ultimatum, clean up his act or he will be playing for another team. This ultimatum comes with a trip to an deserted island, and strict instructions to keep his nose clean... and hands off of random women!

It all sounds easy enough, but then he crosses paths with good girl Rosalind Newcomb... and suddenly keep his hands off becomes a lot harder than he ever anticipated!

Deflected is a uber steamy sports romance that will have you smitten from the very first page, nothing is more captivating than a sexy, smooth talking athlete determined to win the heart of a woman! Rush's sexy one liners, caring demeanor, and charming personality totally won me over and had me swooning over him from start to finish!! These two set the pages on fire with their scorching chemistry and passionate banter, my fingertips felt the heat with every swipe. As much as these two tried to resist temptation, and their attraction to one another, the harder it became, the anticipation darn near killed me. Highly recommend you get your hands on this one, it had it everything you could want in a story; an addictive story line, dynamic characters with explosive chemistry, and heart squeezing emotion.

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

Alexander ‘Rush’ Markov is a NHL bad boy who has been told by the Seattle Sockeyes he better shape up his ways and stay out of the press in the off season or he might be shipped out to another team. Being sent to Madrona Island seemed like pure torture at first, it was just too quiet. But maybe that is exactly what Rush needed, to be true not only to himself but also to his teammates and others around him. Was Rosalind going to help him do that?

Rosalind Newcomb is a quiet island girl who has her life planned. Well she did until her boyfriend of years broke up with her and the family bookstore wasn’t doing the greatest. She instantly disliked the Russian hockey player when he came into the store and broke almost every rule she had. But she couldn’t deny there were sparks between the two of them and they seemed to offset each other. Was Rush coming into her life exactly what she needed to come out of what she was hiding?

Both of them had secrets that they were unwilling to reveal not just to each other but those around them. Would their instant connection allow those to come out and be who they were suppose to be? Or would a few mistakes along the way cause them to forget it all and go back to their old ways?

She shoots, she scores as usual on this book. Jami Davenport knows how to grab your attention and keep it throughout the whole book. It is great to have the Sockeyes back in action again and I must say this is one of the best ones she has written!

Alex “Rush” Markov is a professional hockey player who has created an image of being a party animal and a womanizer, but he has a huge secret he’s a closet bookworm. Alex is now paying for his wild ways, after winning The Stanley Cup team management isn’t impressed with his ways and has stepped in, and sending Alex to Madrona Island to get his act together and his future on track as Ethan the team owner wants him to step up and assume a leadership role with-in the team.
Once Alex is on the island, he discovers the local bookstore and meets the owner Rosalind Newcomb, straight away Rosalind dislikes Alex with his blatant flirting and his disrespect for her store rules. Rosalind doesn’t know who Alex is and straight away the sparks are flying between the two as they rub each other the wrong way, they are like oil and water.
Rosalind is a sweet down to earth girl who is a planner and likes order in her life, can she step outside the square and go with the flow and experience things in life she might otherwise let pass by because it doesn’t fit in with her plan.
Both Alex and Rosalind have secrets that they use to protect themselves. Can Alex and Rosalind overcome these to help them grow and move forward to have a fulfilling life.
A great story about life and how people deal with things, we all deal with events in our life differently and sometimes we help bring out the best in others. This is a standalone but also part of a great series.

I have been absolutely hooked to all of these Sockeyes players and their stories. I anticipate the next ones story after finishing each one and I just knew that Rush's was going to be good.

In the small island town after getting in trouble with the Sockeyes for his behavior he comes across a bookstore and an owner that instantly has him attracted. One problem with that…she isn't falling for his charms. In fact it seems as if she can't stand him and the more the see each other the more the feeling is mutual except the attraction is still there.

Alex is determined to win Rosalind over. The more time he spends around her the more he finds he likes her and the more it seems like he is breaking down her walls. The problem with all this is he hasn't been entirely truthful why he there. He also doesn't open up about his past so when things progress he may lose any chance he could have with her.

The banter and chemistry between Alex and Rosalind is one that will have you sucked in. You will be hooked and eager to see how it will all play out. What happens when secrets are revealed? What happens when his exile is over? Will he go back to his party ways or will he finally admit that he has let someone mean more to him than he expected?

You don't have to read the other books in this series to enjoy this book so don't let that keep you from opening this book. I highly recommend this one and the others as well. They are all really entertaining and enjoyable reads!

Fall in love with Rush!
And that is exactly what you do in Deflected, the new Sockeye’s book by Jami Davenport. Not only do you fall in love with the character we have all been introduced to in previous books, but you travel down the road with him as he discovers love with Roz. When Rush gets benched to Madrona Island for partying a little too hard, he finds Roz, an Island bookstore owner who has some secrets of her own. Over time these two seemingly opposite people come to find they have more in common than they first would have thought. Through different conflicts these two manage to work thru emotional barriers to find their own happiness with each other in the way only Ms. Davenport can provide. I also hope that we received a glimpse of a future book couple in this story as well…….If you like stories that bring characters outside of their comfort zones to find the one they were meant to be with, this is a story for you!

Deflected is a fantastic hot hockey romance that I couldn’t put down. It was an interesting twist to have the entire story take place in the off season but it gave some interesting insight into what it must be like for a sexy playboy of a player to try and clean up his image. Alex is trying to do just that when he meets Rosalind, the one woman who doesn’t know who he is and doesn’t like him either. She challenges him and if that isn’t a turn on for Alex, but she also helps him figure out who he really is and what kind of man he would like to be.
Rosalind has lived a somewhat sheltered life on a quiet island when Alex, this hot stranger shows up and completely turns her world upside down. To find happiness they each have to let go of their secrets and trust each other.
I loved these two characters. They are a perfect example of opposites attracting and are definitely meant for each other.

This is book #2, in the Madrona Island series. This book can be read as a standalone novel. To avoid spoilers, and to understand the characters and the series better, I recommend reading this series in order.

Alex AKA "Rush" is temporarily banished to an island to learn to calm down. His team is concerned that he cannot stop his partying ways. His drinking and playing around is catching up to him.

Rosalind meets Alex for the first time when he comes into her bookstore. As a sheltered good girl, she does not recognize the Stanley Cup wining player. They clash and hate one another almost instantly. But there is still a serious attraction on both sides.....

I enjoyed this story. From start to finish you felt the tension and heat between these two. I loved the banter and the fact that they truly had a lot in common once they took the time to find out.

Ever since his team won the Stanley Cup Alex has taken celebrating to an extreme and the team management is not impressed with his antics. They have given him a choice to either spend a month on Madrona Island and repair his reputation or his position on the team is in jeopardy.

Rosalind had plans for her future but since the relationship with her boyfriend ended they have taken a detour. She still wants the happy ever after however there aren’t a lot of men on the island to choose from.

From the moment that Alex enters her bookstore both their lives will never be the same. Although they didn’t get off to the best start their love of books bring them together but if they are to consider a future together, they must be willing to open their hearts and secrets to each other.

Alex and Rosalind share an intense chemistry and humorous banter but it is how they truly get to know each other rather than their personas that make them perfect for each other.

This is a sweet romance featuring a hockey star needing to clean up his image. If you have followed Ms Davenport's work, you will see some familiar faces in this stand alone effort.
I really liked Alex and appreciated his emotional journey from hockey bad boy to someone who was ready to open his heart and explore a real relationship. Rosalind was a sweet, slightly feisty heroine that was also easy to like.
From a plot standpoint, Deflected is a quick read. This means that the story is entertaining, but is not a super deep dive into the issues impacting our characters. The skimming of the surface is the main thing that kept this from being a 4 star read for me.
Alex and Roz were entertaining, their relationship was sweet, and the Island/town was almost a third primary character. I found myself wanting more of their story!

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, secrets, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first as they are in the same series
Madrona Sunset (Madrona Island, #1)
Love at First Snow: Seattle Sockeyes Hockey (Game On in Seattle, #2.5)
Hearts on Ice: Seattle Sockeyes Hockey (Game On in Seattle #3.5)

This is Rosalind and Alex’s story. Alex is all for partying hard but when management steps in and he is ordered to stay out of trouble he is not happy. While trying to stay out of trouble be meets Rosalind who is a good girl. But the more of a show he puts on the more she tarts to fall but in the end was it all pretend to get his image better? Or did he fall too?

I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.

What do you do when you have the ultimate playboy hockey player and you need to tame him and send a message. You send him to a nice quite island to regroup, but what he never expects is the owner of a quaint bookstore to set him straight.
Alex Markov is a Player with the Seattle Sockeyes hockey team but he also a player off the ice, Rosalind Newcomb is a owner of a cute Bookstore on Madrona Island and when the two meet the chemistry is off the charts but the banter is even better.
Two totally different lifestyles but can the two of them find that happen middle and see what a perfect couple they can be outside of the bubble they have created. Him reigning it in and her letting go if they can do that they can find that HEA.

What a fabulous read this was, I was literally hooked from the first page and read it in one sitting, I was totally invested in Alex and Rosalind as individuals and as a couple. At the beginning I really didn’t think Alex could change his man whore ways, but one look and argument with Rosalind changed that. I loved the banter between them and that Rosalind didn’t throw herself at Alex, she treat him like she did everyone else, just with a bit more sass! It was refreshing to read about a H that loves to read and has a cat! This was a fabulous read from this author and a great addition to this series, wish I could give more than 5*!

Man do I love these hockey guys!

Possible SPOILERS

Alexander "Rush" Markov has been sent to Madrona Island to basically grow-up...stop drinking so much, stop with the woman and stay out of the media for awhile. Alex decides that the Island life really isn't so bad especially when he meets bookstore owner Rosalind but he seems to push her buttons the wrong way and he sees her as a challenge...
Rosalind doesn't quite know what to make of Alex and once she gets to know him things change a little.
When Rosalind's friend fills her in on the "true" Alex and she Googles him Rosalind doesn't know what to truly think...which is the REAL Alex?

Alex and Rosalind were the complete opposite on paper but yet had a lot in common. This wasn’t an insta love story; no where close to it!!! Rosalind couldn’t stand Alex and he found her attractive but rude, lol. But yet he continued pursuing her because she didn’t know he was a famous hockey player. And when she found out she disliked him even more, 😂😂😂. But when things finally got romantic between these two you saw a side to both that is enjoyable and also how great of a team they are. They made a great team in everything and were each other’s support system. A slight hiccup but nothing too major which actually in the end worked out in their favor.

Alex is the ultimate bad boy of hockey, he's hot, sexy and single and just parties and has all the women he wants. When the team sends him to Madrona Island after the season is over to think about his behavior he never expects to meet a woman who throws him off his game. Rosalind wants nothing to do with the hockey bad boy, she doesn't care how good looking he is he is nothing but a pain in her butt. When she starts to get to know the real Alex will he tear down not only her walls but his own?

One again Jami Davenport takes us back to the Seattle Sockeyes and one of its hockey players. This time she focuses on Rush, the Russian party boy and player. The higher ups order him to clean up after their win of the Cup and start acting like a leader, so off he goes to a familiar island, where Alex emerges. Rosalind is the local bookstore owner and secret romance author and the fireworks begin. I love the play between the two; the banner is fun and the heat intense. I laughed more than once at Jami's poking fun at the romance genre. It's a great read and Turner characters appear to give us glimpses in their current lives.

Alex "Rush" Markov is a Hokey player celebrating a Stanley Cup win. He keeps his perfect English and his love of reading a secret. Alex has a tragic past and is afraid of love. Rosalind is a bookstore owner and secret romance writer. She likes her sheltered, structured, quiet life.

I'm in love with Alex and Rosalind. The plot of ths story is easy to follow yet very engaging. My favorite book by this author to date.
