A lot of fun and I breezed right through in one sitting! Surprised by how much I enjoyed this! Can't wait to read Dustin's story next!

So glad I enjoyed this one.
Logan and Winter are amongst a rag tag group of shifters hoping to work on crews under the dragon Shifter, Kane and his mate, Rowan.
Logan is actually just hoping to end his miserable existence before his feral bear breaks from his control. Winter wants to start over far from the jack ass that got her best friend pregnant after bonding with Winter.
The chemistry heats up pretty quickly between Logan and Winter. The whole story is only over a couple days. After only knowing each other for a few hours they are fooling around in his truck and next thing you know, they are accidentally bonded...
Mostly the story is Logan and Winter getting to know each other in a very crazed out of control way.
Then there's some baddies that need to be taken care of towards the end.
The audio reader was good and the story seemed a LOT shorter than 250 pages.

How does she do it?
I don't have many words right now, which is rather unfortunate for a review. But...sometimes I still can't believe how amazing TS Joyce's books are. They blow me away every time, and this one took my breath away.
There was such a strong connection, right away. Between the characters and the reader. Such intense emotion throughout the book. I laughed, I cried, I connected. I felt everything the characters felt, so strongly. I was immediately drawn to Winter, the heroine. I felt like I knew her from the very beginning and I was cheering her on from page one. And Logan...I'm sitting here shaking my head because I just don't know how I can put into words how much I feel for him. He had my heart from the beginning.
This was an amazing start to TS's new series, and I am so eagerly awaiting the next in the series. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone who love romance, badass shifters, and a fairy tale happy ending!

Liked the hero much more than the heroine. She was too weepy about her ex mate who cheated on her and abandoned her.
For a change the "get you head out of your ass" tag is for the heroine! The ex drama is all about her ex. No OW drama! Yippee!
I felt like I was missing something not having read the previous series. But I was not intrigued enough to go backwards.

Interesting. I found myself wishing for more story. Would be worth reading the next book just to see where the story goes. I did like the world building. I liked the rest of the team as well. Their HEA's may be interesting.

I can tell already that this series will be my favourite!!
It's litterly going to be a pack full of nut jobs!! The excitement is containable for now. Eeeeek.
I loved this book, I love a broken hero who's saved by the lady and I also loved both winter and logan, they are perfect for eachother. The story was fast paced and packed full of sarcastic wit, stuiped humor, real hot sexy time and some great fight scenes.
I can't wait for the next!!

You Settled The Storm In Me!!!
Winter Donovan, a Feline (Panther) shifter was a city shifter, but things went wrong then she found herself in a dark place until she went to the Red Havoc Crew. Technically she wasn't a member, just stayed there because she didn't know where else to go.
She was in love with Brody but the man betrayed her when he strayed leaving her heartbroken and feeling like she didn't belong. Even the Alpha of the Havoc Crew, Benson Saber (we met him in BLACKWING DRAGON ) knew that she stayed out of loyalty. He gave her an opportunity to find a place where she could find what she seeked/needed.
Winter made her way to Smoky Mountains where Dark Kane and his mate, Rowan Barnett were looking for new members to be a part of their Blackwing Crew. On her arrival, she met some very interesting shifters especially a bear shifter by the name of Logan.
Logan Furrow had a grizzly bear inside of him that was broken because of the choices the human side made. He was looking for someone to put him down when his previous Alpha couldn't go through with keeping his promise.
Logan went to apply to be a part of the Blackwing Crew where he met the beautiful, curvy and sassy panther shifter, Winter. There was this deep pull between Logan and Winter that the former found very intriguing and terrifying at the same time.
They liked spending time together even though there were others around them, there was always a sense of piece whenever Winter and Logan looked at each other. Logan's Bear was broken and despite a terrifying event between him and Winter, he knew she was THEIRS.
Bear claimed her in his own animalistic way. Winter was protective of Logan and vice versa, she fought to save her mate and his bear. The D-Team (Logan, Winter, Beast, Emma & Dustin) were amazing, I loved their banter, their fights but most of all I love how they blended perfectly as a family. In spite of their flaws.
Just as Logan and Winter were ready for what the future held for them, it looked like his days were numbered. Things came full circled where Kane and Logan were concerned (you"ll have to read the book to know why) ;).
It was a delight to see mentions of the Ashe Crew, the Gray Backs, the Breck Crew, the Boarlanders. And for the Bloodrunners making an appearance. When faced with betrayal, the D-Team had their Alpha's back
BLACKWING DEFENDER is the first book in a new series, KANE'S MOUNTAINS by T. S. Joyce. It was captivating, on the edge of your seat, engrossing and a great starter for this amazing series.
T. S. Joyce knows what her readers love and she didn't disappoint with this one, it had everything a paranormal lover seeks for in a book. Two thumbs up and a heck yeah to get a copy today itself.

We’re about to begin new adventures with a brand newly created crew in Kane’s Mountains. If you haven’t read the over arching series of Damon’s Mountains or Harper’s Mountains – don’t worry, this is a new crew, each with their own unique story. However, (you knew there had to be a but, right?) … I would strongly recommend reading at least the final story in Harper’s Mountains which is Blackwing Dragon – there you will read Kane and Rowan’s story which will give you a bit of understanding of what Kane is and why he’s reluctant to take on a crew in this new series. So, that’s my opinion if you’re starting this new series blind – but it’s my own opinion, you’ll do as you wish. *grin*
My heart ached for Logan at the beginning of this story – and to be honest, in many ways throughout it as well. As a teenager, Logan had the misfortune of having an Alpha who used him for his own nefarious reasons. By the time we meet up with Logan he is a hardened man with a bear who is on the edge of uncontrollable. Logan has a purpose for applying to the Blackwing Crew, and it’s not a pleasant one at all.
Winter has had a life that not many women could have survived with their sanity intact. Recently she’s had her heart and spirit broken by the man who was supposed to be her mate. In desperation her Alpha pretty much shoved her out of the nest of his crew and recommended that she apply for the newly created Blackwing Crew. He knows Kane, and believes that she can restart her life if she takes this chance. At the beginning of their story, Winter is so beaten down by life that she follows her former Alpha’s last order, even if she fears that she will once again be rejected.
Social media expert, general overachiever and pain the many behinds – Air Ryder (from Harper’s Mountains) has sent out the call to anyone listening that there is a new crew about to form… and to show up on Kane’s doorstep. Yeah. Right. Not the best idea ever – but the charming and at times devious Air Ryder has his reasons and they just might work out… eventually. In Kane’s Mountains we are meeting the members of a new crew who hold no loyalty to each other or Kane. Men and women, human and shifter who have their own unique reasons for wanting a fresh start. We get to see their attitudes, their fears and their assets begin to slowly form a group and eventually a crew. It’s an interesting shift from the usual fully formed pack, we’re getting to see the birth of a pack – and that throws all kinds of interesting situations at them… and us. Meet Logan, Winter, Beast, Dustin and Emma, people with very interesting stories to tell.
The sparks begin to flicker between Winter and Logan almost immediately – and their story is often bittersweet. I really like this couple, they are definitely misfits who fill out the missing parts of the other. Their romance isn’t going to be easy, they will face off against each other and the outside world before the ending. But there is that – something – that keeps them trying, and the way that was handled makes them a very favorite couple indeed.
I’m looking forward to the rest of Kane’s Mountains, having gotten a taste of the characters who inhabit this crew I’m eager to learn their stories. If you love Shifter Romance, interesting characters and a plot that twists and turns then you’d enjoy Blackwing Defender. I would definitely recommend this one.

Could any of her books get any better, I honestly did not think they could but wow even triple wow. It sure did get better.
Logan and Winter both looking for something and hoping to find it on Kane's Mountains. Winter running from a past so different from others, when she finds the help she needs she is taking a step in the right direction to self healing, she even found a mate who in the end betrayed her by taking another mate and further hurting Winter.
Logan's past leads him to Kane's Mountains looking for the solution to his past and hopefully the end of his future. His past horrific to say the least. But now a new equation enters his life Winter. What both go through to finally achieve what they both are looking for, is in itself a story to make you weep, at times makes you laugh, but betrayal awaits them all. Coming to the rescue is Harper and her crew and for the rest, well read the book, its well worth the read and T.S Joyce is astonishing with the books she writes, thank you for a wonderful story and I am looking forward to the next one, which I am sure will be as spectacular as all of your stories are.

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK!
This book is MASSIVE 10 STARS! I absolutely fell in love with the characters in this book. Meeting the characters for possible Blackwing Crew. This is Logan and Winter's love story. There were twist and turns I did not see coming in this book. T S Joyce you have done it again, this was amazing.

In my opinion, the dragon stories are among the best of Joyce’s related series. On to the next one!

I probably shouldn't have laughed, but I did when Ryder started to advertise for Kane to get a crew. Kane is so prickly, that going this route would have been something that never occured to him, yet it was what he needed. Of course there were a ton of people that showed up, but the most promising ones were the misfit screwed up ones. Sure Kane didn't want them because they were screwed up, but these are just the people that will understand Kane himself.
I really liked Winter, felt horrible for the situation she was in and thought her becoming part of Kane's crew would be great! Of course there was issues from the start, but there was also some sort of connection between her and Logan.
I was glad that at the end Kane realized what Winter and Logan could do for him and gave his first crew invites out.

Nice quick read before bed.
No plot though; the whole thing is just about the couple's romance and Winter, Logan, and 3 others doing random things while trying to join Kane's pack.

Pretty good start
Good start. It was touching to see broken people come together to create something better. They became better then a family. It also proved that you can't judge a book by its cover. I line Winter and Logan is right she is the binding force and the strongest one of the bunch.
Will read the next one..even though I thought he was an a-hole in this book.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I am impressed. Shifter romances are kind of a guilty pleasure of mine and I haven't truly enjoyed many of them. But this book felt so new and refreshing! It was different enough to stand out from the crowd.
The story begins with Winter's sad tale of betrayal and I was already sucked into this story. The minute she sees Logan you can feel the connection and it only gets better. The chemistry these two have just sizzles on the page. You could just feel the tension. It was HOT!
Best of all, the story was interesting and kept me guessing. The rag-tag group of D-Team had me laughing with all their quirks and craziness. This author writes great banter and funny lines.

The H is an assassin, fierce broken and the h's mate married another shifter, so she has a broken heart and had to leave her pack. The h is great, very sweet and only she can calm the H. He can't resist her. They are lovely together, their mating is brutal, fierce and wonderful. Loved this book and this couple.

Really enjoyed this book. Having problems finishing books lately but this one obviously got done :D I always love the hero who's running out of time and him and the heroine have a strong connection and she's his salvation blah blah #I'msuchasucker.

This is my first book by this author and wont be my last.
Logan Furrow had a grizzly bear inside of him that was broken because of the choices the human side made. He was looking for someone to put him down when his previous Alpha couldn't go through with keeping his promise. Logan went to apply to be a part of the Blackwing Crew where he met the beautiful, curvy and sassy panther shifter, Winter. There was this deep pull between Logan and Winter that the former found very intriguing and terrifying at the same time.
Winter Donovan, a Panther shifter who was a city shifter, but things went wrong then she found herself in a dark place until she went to the Red Havoc Crew. Technically she wasn't a member, just stayed there because she didn't know where else to go. She was in love with Brody but the man betrayed her when he strayed leaving her heartbroken and feeling like she didn't belong. Even the Alpha of the Havoc Crew, Benson Saber knew that she stayed out of loyalty. He gave her an opportunity to find a place where she could find what she seeked and/or needed.
Winter made her way to Smoky Mountains where Dark Kane and his mate, Rowan Barnett were looking for new members to be a part of their Blackwing Crew. On her arrival, she met some very interesting shifters especially a bear shifter by the name of Logan.

I knew in the first few pages that this book was something special. A few pages in and I was in tears and the feels just kept coming. Winter's pain was something I felt right along with her because I've been that girl. Watching the person you love be happy with someone else is one of the most isolating things that can happen to a person. Seeing every plan, hope and dream basically shrivel up and die a horrible death is gut-wrenching and life-changing. This hit so close to home but was so wonderfully written that I couldn't put it down. Thank you T.S. for this book, it is going on my favorites list.

Finding out one's fated mate has cheated with your best friend might be a bit hard to deal with. Discovering he's gotten your best friend pregnant certainly complicates things more.
Winter Donovan makes the decision to leave her home to start a new life with a new crew. Encouraged by her existing alpha, Winter applies for a slot on the newly formed Blackwing crew headed by dragon shifter Kane Reeves.
Problems arise when Winter shows up for the open interview only to discover all manner of shifters are also applying including Logan, a shifter predator who has his eyes firmly locked on Winter.

Spin off Harper's Mountain series having all the snark and sexual tension that readers have come to expect from this author.
Totally appreciated the chemistry between the main characters. Their relationship falls somewhere between 'opposites attract' and 'enemies to lovers' theme. Loved the snark and back and forth banter as the two fought the growing attraction between them only to have their shifter essence choosing to jump directly to the carnal enjoyment stage. lol.
The secondary cast of characters really compliment the story and add a realistic slant on a rag tag team of misfits who wouldn't seem to be compatible.. but are. Can't wait for the next installment (which coincidentally is already published and waiting on my one click buy option) to see the jokester Dustin bite the dust and have to eat a little crow on the side. :D
