We live in strange times and for me at least end of the world as we know it scenarios no longer feel quite as far fetched. I enjoyed the first book in the series and was looking forward to following the characters further. For me however this book is where I will part ways with the series. The level of anti government paranoia in the plot was just a wee bit much for my tastes. (And I do like me a bit of anti government paranoia)
An EMP has taken out everything. Or was it something else? A intentional act by our own government? People are being rounded against their will. Opposition or failure to comply or evade is met with deadly force. Resistance or surrender appears to be the only to options. An excellent read
This is every bit as exciting as the first book, but now we learn that the government has some nefarious plans and may be the culprit of the disaster. I'm not sure I really think that that government would be that well organized nor that the rank and file military would treat fellow Americans so poorly, but it does make for a good story. I look forward to the next in the series.
An EMP has hit the US and taken out the power grid but on top of that troops are out gathering citizens and placing in internment camps. Is this the land of the free and home of the brave? Well messing with Americans aint a good idea. Mess with our freedom and draw back a nub.
If this author is correct I pity the USA and it's people. The right to bare arms and have a say is basic. It good people cannot (through lack of ability of otherwise) do something, then something bad will happen to them. It worries me to know of so many people who support the "don't do" attitude.
I am loving this series and I wish the writer would write the books faster, lol! Seriously though, the characters are well developed, the story line is a good one and it draws you in from the beginning. Highly recommend the entire series!!
A fantastic series on the probability of an EMP happening in our country. The characters are believable and the storyline keeps you reading well past your bedtime.
