Predictable but good
By predictable I mean that you could easily predict what was going to come of the characters at the end. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. After you've finished enough stories, whether it's from a book, movie, game, or whatever, just about everything comes to be predictable.
I would love a book following Kieran's journey to become the Master Scout.

An enjoyable finish to this series! It in essence at least cleared up a few things left quite confusing like the whole time travel notion and origin of Scouts and future of them PLUS Aleron and Sebastian and Xander plus others. It does leave the game's future in question but appropriately so. Leaves hope for once Jeremy and his team figure out the death issue. I AM still confused as to the intent and motivations of the (old) Scouts as a whole in the series. But I do not lose sleep over it in the least. And then the common enemy fought together via teamwork by former "enemies", notably with the champions of Light and Dark fighting side by side. Not sure what to say really. I enjoyed the read. And enough so so that I am going to move onto the author's series "The Game Is Life". I have the first 3 books waiting for me. Hopefully it will read as well as this series though with the added benefit that it is not limited to such a small time frame for the series. Though gotta consider too the narrator as I read the Audible editions. A narrator can make or break a book/series in a huge way with Audible. BTW, the narrator of this series, Chris Ciulla, did a respectable job for sure. Kudos, sir!! And thanks to both you and Terry for 21 hours of entertainment!!

Good but not as strong as the first two books
I started computer gaming shortly after PCs became available, playing the text-based Adventure on a dual-floppy CPM machine. I had pages of detailed "maps" showing where to find treasures and where to use the magic word "XYZZY" (I think that's what it was). Then came the Myst series, which set the standard for what makes an epic game {at least for me). From there games moved to first person shooters and I lost interest.
The Blade VR series gave me a glimpse of the possibilities that VR gaming offers with fully realized environment that don't necessarily require killing monsters or other players. The first two books were the best, with the in-game and out-of-game stories equally engaging. Raid moved almost entirely to in-game where it wrapped up some dangling storylines but left me feeling slightly deflated instead of satisfied, as if the characters simply walked off stage without reading their last lines.

A great ending to an enjoyable and intriguing trilogy.
The idea of virtual reality is fascinating, especially as our 'real' lives today seem to be filled with stress, noise and those in power forever grappling for more power, regardless of who gets hurt. Although, this virtual world had its share of troubles. Wouldn't it be amazing to create our own utopia - who knows?
This is a well-written fantasy with characters that suit the story while plots and sub-plots make it a mystery - not all answered; though there is usually a little twist or two from this author.
Very well done.

Good finale
I wondered how Terry would end this trilogy and keep his readers happy at the same time. Someone's the ending of a series can make the other books a little less enjoyable. I'm happy to say that, for me, I was satisfied with the ending and with the series as a whole. I would recommend reading the series for anyone who enjoys fantasy or unique worlds not seen in other books.

I wish it didn't end.
But every series has to have a conclusion. Reading this had me so nostalgic for EverQuest that I've actually picked it up again. It's been well over a decade. But anyway about the books, the whole series really. It was amazing. The characters, the settings, the obvious and the subtle references to various games. I loved it. The whole way. Now I'm going to read it again.

Simply amazing
Terry Schott is an amazing writer. I have read every one of his books. Every book is amazing. From beginning to end he captures and keeps your attention. I read them so fast because I can’t stop, then I’m depressed because it’s over. Can’t wait for more!!!

Amazing book start to finish. I read it in one sitting essentially because I couldn’t put it down. Great end to an awesome series. Very highly recommend this series and this author!!

This is a really good story. The characters are real and likable, the story line keeps you interested and wanting more. Well worth reading.

I just didn't get into this series which was disappointing after how much I loved The Game series.

this is a great series by Terry Schott. I am not a gamer or a D&D player but this series made me want to be both. Take the time to read the whole series
