Two strangers, one passionate encounter, and a fate neither one of them saw coming.
Ayla This kind of stuff does happen, right? Rescued and then knocked up by a handsome mountain man. When Kennedy begged me to accept an invitation to a bachelorette party in the Smokey Mountains, I reluctantly agreed. I thought I knew everything that was going to happen…the party, the alcohol, the rich girls. But nothing prepared me for meeting Laz Payne, and everything that came with him. The danger. The longing. The mistakes. The secrets. Does love even fit in Laz's wounded soul?
Laz I came to the Smokey Mountains a broken man. I needed to get away from my past, and that was when I became a ranger here. For two years, my life is dull and in lack of passion. But the first time I laid eyes on Ayla Winter, I knew I was in trouble. She was charming, vulnerable, and utterly irresistible. She was like no other woman I had ever met. How could I have known that one surreal day with her would make me second-guess it all? And how could I have known that I was about to be a father?
Deep in the Mountains is the fifth book in Baby Fever Series, a mountain man baby romance with no cliffhanger and a HEA. It can be read as a stand-alone.

Ayla is a rich and unhappy woman. She agrees to go to a bachelorette party in the mountains of Tennessee. Laz is a ranger who has recovered from his mentally ill wife and their divorce. She wanders off one night with a bottle of liquor and is found by Laz.. She begs him not to take her back to the cabin with her friends so he decides to take her to his cabin. In the morning, they can't avoid the chemistry between them. Ayla misunderstands when they part and thinks that Laz is married so she leaves the party early. Months later, she realizes that she is pregnant. Ayla must see Laz one more time to ask that he give up his rights to the baby. Can these two have a relationship after only knowing each other for one day? I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would recommend it to everyone.

This was another enjoyable read in the Baby Fever series. In this one we have Ayla and Laz. Ayla is asked to go away for the weekend by her friend. She is taking a break from her on and off again boyfriend. While on this weekend trip she meets Laz. They of course spend it together. After some drama from his ex wife they get it all worked out and get their HEA.
A really enjoyable story. Against her will Ayla is pursuaded to go on a hen party by her best friend. She has just been dumped yet again cheating boyfriend. After arriving at the venue, a large cabin in the mountains, her friend goes to bed and Ayla starts drowning her sorrows with a bottle of tequila. After a few to many she decides to have a wander around the resort. She enters a bar and is in the process of arguing with the barman who is asking her to leave because she is drunk. Laz, a policeman had been missing work due to his wife’s mental problems. She has finally been admitted to hospital where the doctors say it may be years before there is any improvement. His boss advises him to take the job of a ranger in the mountain resort to give him time to come to terms with everything. Laz is in the bar and takes her back to the cabin. Later the next day Ayla again gets drunk and wanders out into the night. Laz finds her and takes her to his cabin because she says she is frightened of goin back to her own cabin. The following morning they end up sleeping together. She sees a picture of him and a woman at the side of the bed and asks if he is married. He says no. In the meantime her friends have reported her missing. Realising the trouble Laz will be in Ayla doesn’t say where she has been. Later that day she is trying to find her way back to Laz’s cabin when she spots the woman from the picture driving by and thinks he has been lying to her and returns home. Will that be the end of it?

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the fifth book in the Baby Fever series, but they can be read as a standalone. Laz was a cop until he left the force to take a job as a ranger after his personal life suffered after a divorce from his mental ill wife. She divorced Laz and he was blindsided, he was standing by her, hoping for her to get better. A few years later, Laz was happy to be in the mountains alone. When Ayla goes to a resort in the mountains for a bachelorette party of a friend, she really didn't want to go and she is having a terriible time. Ayla gets drunk the first night and wanders into a bar, where she is told to leave. Laz was there and makes sure she gets back to the resort. The next day, Ayla is in an even worse mood and after fighting with her friends, she wanders off and gets lost. When Laz finds Ayla, she begs him not to take her back to the resort, so he takes her to his place. They have a connection and after Ayla explains she doesn't want to be at the resort and wants to be with him, Laz gives into his attractions. They have a great day, until Laz realizes he is late for work and learns Ayla was reported missing. If anyone learns Ayla was with Laz, he could lose his job and he asks he to lie. When Laz's ex-wife shows up, Ayla sees her and thinks he was lying about being married. I enjoyed this story, i thought Ayla was a little lost and wanted more out of life. I thought Laz was a good guy who had overcame a bad situation and needed to move one. I loved them together and thought they had great chemistry. Good one.
I volunteer to read this Arc for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading a story about a Ayla and Laz. He moves to Gatlinburg after his wife Helena freaks out and is committed to a psych ward. Fast forward two years, Laz is working as a ranger in the mountains near a Gatlinburg retreat. Ayla is headed to Gatlinburg for a bachelorette party, with a bunch of people she don't really care for her. Her friend Kennedy has convinced her to go. She's absolutely miserable and is spending too much time drinking. The first night there she ends up at the local watering hole drunk, but Laz takes her back to her cottage. The next night he finds her passed out in the woods instead of taking her back to the cottage he takes her back to his house. One thing leads to another and after a passionate 24 hours together things come to an abrupt end. Her so-called friends call in a manhunt for her because she's missing and Laz is in trouble because he is on call and forgot to turn on his radio. She heads back to Miami when she sees his "wife" driving torches home. But things aren't always as they seem. Great up-and-down relationship story. Especially when she finds out she's expecting. I enjoyed the heat and the chemistry between the characters and how it brings Kennedy and Julian back into the story

This story was great – short and sweet. I enjoyed the fact that it brought a bit of real life into it with the mental issues of Helena, but don’t misinterpret as the story is not about her. This story is about Laz and Ayla. Laz is a ranger, who at the beginning of the story is doing his best to give his wife, Helena the best treatment possible for her mental issues, but then faced with divorce papers from Helena herself. Without thinking more into it, he proceeds and starts a new life in the mountains. Ayla is a rich daughter with society status that she knows has certain expectations that she must meet. She is destined to marry the one her father approves of, even if she is not happy with him.
The story of Ayla and Laz starts over the Labor Day weekend but there was a surprise that she didn’t expect and her own family turns on her with every friend she thought she had expect for one, who luckily for her was not born with money. The I didn’t expect Helena to come back into the story, but she does and ends in a surprising manner. I will not give it away so that you may add this story to your reader you will not regret it.

This quick little read is filled with lots of tumultuous emotions. Laz and Ayla both have lots of baggage to work through. Laz was one of those characters that I just loved from the start. As a former cop with a pretty deep knight complex, he hits most of my checkboxes for book boyfriend material. Ayla made me want to rip my hair out from the roots. I had to keep reminding myself that she’s young – though not as young as the spoiled tween-ager she behaves like. The number of times she catches herself behaving like an entitled brat and promises to do better only to repeat the bad behavior drove me nuts. This made it very difficult for me to like Ayla until pretty much the eleventh hour when she finally starts behaving like an adult. I loved getting the chance to see Kennedy again. Though, after falling in love with her in Accidental Soulmates I wasn’t so happy to see that she’s kind of turned into one of the villains of this book. Ayla's friend talks her into going to another friends bachelorette party even though she didn't want to go. Laz is working in the mountains after everything his ex-wife has put him through. When he finds Ayla drunk for the second time and lost he takes her back to his place. When she wakes the next day they have breakfast and connect so well that Ayla loses track of time. They spend a wonderful day together before Laz remembers that he is on call for work and things go crazy when he learns that she's been reported missing. One misunderstanding send Ayla away angry but before she goes home she tries to make up only to see a woman going into his place. Is Laz lying about being single? Can they find their way back to each other?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This is the final book in the series but all of these books can be read as a standalone. This last story of course Nicole gives us a mountain man in a Ranger's uniform, perfect right? In this story we meet Ayla who goes to Gatlinburg for a bachlorett party for a bride she does not like. But her best friend Kennedy needs a break from being a wife and a Mom for the Labour Day weekend. Ayla finds herself in pickle not once but twice and has Ranger Payne, Laz come to her rescue both times. This story has so much to it and the characters come with so many layers to them that it all makes for a sweet read. These two characters have alot to come clean about in their past and present but it is all worth it for a future.

Rich people have problems too. Ayla is a rich young lady whose value system lets her know it's not about the money. Her boyfriend, Damian a commitment phobe makes augments her discontent with her life. She attends a bachelorette party in Tennesses with acquaintances as an attempt to run away/hide from reality. Laz, a ranger is coming off a bad divorce and hids behind his jobe in the mountains. So, both people have baggage. They have a one nighter then Ayla goes back home to Miami. A few months later she finds out she's pregnant. A miscommunication lead her to a decision that could adversely affect many lives. Can Laz and Ayla connect to discus the baby? Will Laz be happy about the baby? How will a baby affect their lives? Tennessee vs. Miami? This is a nice story that lets you see that rich people have problems too. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.
Ayla at first seemed weak a poor little rich girl whom took so much off of her loser boyfriend Damien, he cheated and broke up with her constantly to be with someone else and she always would take him back.
Lax he had a lot happen to him in his past he was a cop, but that got taken away after he had some issues in his personal life now he is a ranger.
Ayla just couldn't seem to get it together after being found drunk twice by Lax. She persuades him and Lax finds himself wanting a woman after his experience with his crazy ex, but Ayla going back home with something of his.
This story both characters are finally getting the relationship they deserve. They both in the past had partners not worthy of them. This is a second chance romance that I rooted for both the hero and heroine. I voluntarily received an arc copy through Booksprout for my honest review.
Twice Laz has had a to rescue a drunk Ayla so he takes her home to sober up. Ayla has come to the mountains to attend a bachelorette party she doesn't want to be there in fact she is fed up with her entire life and it isn't as though she has to work she is quite wealthy in he own right. Laz has retreated to the mountain to try to rebuild his life he is traumatised by what his ex wife put him through. When he rescues a drunk girl for the second time he isn't expecting the spark that grows between them as they sit and talk as time passes he forgets that he is on call and is stunned when he finds she has been reported missing But what is the secret he is keeping is he really as single as she sees and who was the woman entering his cabin To find out his secret and if they get a HEA you will have to read the book
Another amazing read by Nicole Casey. Ayla and Laz were simply awesome together. Ayla has everything she could ever want but she's not happy. Her friend Kennedy convinces her to go the mountains for a girls weekend. After a disastrous marriage with a mentally ill wife, Laz relocates to the mountains for a change. Ayla wanders off from the girls and gets lost. Laz finds a lost drunken Ayla and against his better judgement takes her back to his cottage. The next morning Ayla and Lax can no longer fight the attraction. However, Laz's job and job is jeopardized when she is reported missing. Ayla leaves because of a misunderstanding unaware that she is pregnant. Will Ayla return to her boring, mundane life or will she return to Gatlinburg to fight for what she really wants? And how will Laz react to her news? 5 stars!
This prolific author produces book after book at lightening speed. She pulls you in to her page turners so easily, & even though I'm not like any of the characters she writes about, I'm drawn in immediately. She has this amazing gift that makes me identify with the characters & their story. She gifts us with billionaires, second chances, mountain men, reverse harem, rock stars & even edgy dark novels. The story of this easy read has been outlined by previous reviewers so I'll just add that the descriptive sexy scenes made me fidgety in a nice way & I can’t help but swoon when a gentleman treats his lady right.
I received an ARC & this is my honest & voluntary review.
This is such a fantastic story it’s about Lazaro ( Laz ) and Ayla. Ayla goes to a bachelorette party in the Smokey Mountains where she meets this gorgeous ranger Laz, Ayla is so drunk that Laz takes her back to his cabin. In the morning she wakes up and see’s Laz there they both hit it off and spend time together. After a couple of days Ayla goes to see Laz at his cabin then she see’s a woman walk inside Ayla is heartbroken and she leaves the mountains early thinking that Laz lied to her about everything. A couple of weeks later Ayla has a big surprise so should she go and tell Laz that he’s going to be a father and who was that woman who went inside of his cabin?. I loved this story it’s a fantastic read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Lazaro/Laz is a ranger who meets Ayla when she comes to the mountains of Tennessee for a bachelorette party. He takes her to his cabin to sleep as she has had too much to drink, the next morning they have sex and she leaves but then decides she will give him a chance. But something happens and she never does get back to him. She now is on her way to see him after six months as she has to tell him something. Reading how their story comes together is interesting. I liked the last chapter the most.
Ayla was a woman who was unhappy with her life and her families expectation. When she found out she was pregnant she knew she would have to make some difficult decisions about her life and her baby. First she had to tell the father and then move on from there. I found this a sad story in some ways, Ayla had everything money could buy, but love was what she needed most of all. Laz had never forgotten her and when he found out about the baby he knew had a second chance for love and the family he always wanted.

A wonderfully well written second chance romance of sorts. Ayla and Laz both have lots of baggage to work through but can't seem to deny the sizzling hot chemistry they have. This is a great story that captivated me from the beginning and kept me addicted to the end. It includes drama, suspense filled twists, miscommunication, packs quite a bit of emotions, some rich snobbery and a great amount of passion. A truly entertaining standalone that moves quickly and smoothly and great addition to the series with some past cameo appearances from characters.

I was surprised by the depth of emotion this novella pulled off. Ayla is unsatisfied with her life and after a one night stand with Lazaro and a misunderstanding she tries to move on with her life. When surprise, there is long term impact of that one night stand and Ayla has decisions to make. The journey that those two characters take deeply emotional. I really liked this one, mostly because it was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. I expected a fluff romance that would entertain me but I got an emotional ride that touched me. Well done!

this is a book with everything .. the main characters each have their own life with drama .. but if the meeting leads to more and chemistry crackles .. there is no escaping the fact that they are meant for each other. the book reads nicely and follows the short and powerful timeline well. I myself have not read any other parts of this series .. in spite of that this book can be read very well .. I will now of course see if I can read the other parts. 4 stars from me.

Short with a Sweet Ending. Deep in the Mountains - A Mountain Man Romance, by Nicole Casey was a engaging short story that was a satisfying read. The characters, Laz and Ayla (not your normal John and Mary names) were dynamic and flawed. Laz was an enabler to his previous wife and Ayla undiagnosed chronic depression. That being said, when together they lightened each other up. Definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment. I am leaving this review for your consideration. Peace.
I really enjoyed this book, I've enjoyed all the baby fever books. Ayla is of the rich elite, but she realizes that her life doesnt have much substance, nor does her on again off again relationship. She stuck going to a bridal getaway for someone within her standing but not really a friend, there are times she still acts the brat, but has some redeeming qualities. Laz is a hunk, with the white knight mentality two totally opposite people, but a suprise binds them together. A really enjoyable read.

An amazing read!! It is beautifully written with a well-developed consistent engaging plot that will grip you from beginning to end. It is emotionally deep with twists and turns, and enough drama guaranteed to pull you in from the first page and hold your attention until the end. The characters are likeable, strong, deep, and sweet; the chemistry between them is intense and potent. It is a very exciting read and comes highly recommended. Interesting and an emotionally draining story about a man who has struggled through his marriage and found his wife actually suffers from a bipolar disorder. After years in a private hospital and through medication, she eventually gets hero emotional behaviour under control and divorced him. He ends up in the mountains as a Ranger tired from always having to deal with problems but his supposed friends as well. Years later he meets a woman he falls in love with.
Laz life was going down hill. With a wife with multiple personalities who wanted a divorce because she thought of him as the enemy, he didn't know himself thanks to her issues. Ayla is having a crises of her own. She has an on again off again boyfriend and she is not happy with her life. She is talked into going on a long weekend trip with a friend for a bachelorette party where she meets Raz and her life changes. Will these two get the happily ever after they each deserve?

AMAZING!❤ Engrossing well executed read that sucks you as the perfect flow of drama unfolds bringing out a whirlwind of emotions and exciting hot chemistry! Page turning suspense filled twists that just when you think the ending is within reach the unexpected happens putting you on edge with a want and a need for the story to take a turn and give you a reprieve and relieve you of the anxiety and nail-biting suspense it puts you through but will be worth it all in the end. A fantastic must read!
