I mistook him for a wild beast. Then he claimed me like one.

Though I was sent to scan this planet for human life, its inhabitants seem more like beasts than men to me. But now I've crash landed, and one of them has decided to take me as his mate...

He does not ask before he mounts me and he is far from gentle when he ruts me. But as this brute wrings one savage, screaming climax after another from my virgin body, I know it is not pain or fear that is compelling me to surrender myself to him so shamefully I may never stop blushing.

It is instinct.

Good alpha alien claims human woman story!

Space explorer Tselia crash lands on a planet that has human life as she was bringing her shuttle into the atmosphere to get a closer look. A group of female huntresses are about to kill her when the village alpha, Zion, steps in and claims her as his. This angers some of thee huntresses even more since he was the most sought after male in the village.

Tselia wasn’t supposed to be on the shuttle, her orders were to stay on the starship. She has gotten into trouble in the past while exploring unknown planets, so this was her last chance. Now Zion is not letting her return to her ship. The story is good, though the male dominance is a bit too high handed for my taste. He punishes her for just about everything. I sometimes want the woman to just say, “How would you like it if I did the same to you every time you do something I don’t like?” Though when it is for play, it can be sexy.

DNF super early!

IDK what the fuck is going on with Loki Renard right now...but it appears to come across in her books as extreme privilege and bullshit.

I just CAN NOT with her last two books. The last one (Consumed) featured a heroine who dragged the world into evil darkness after getting one night of dick. UGH.

THIS one...this one just just as fucking bad. Heroine is a space explorer who looks for life. Her last voyage ended in her causing a fucking GENOCIDE. 90% of an entire population killed cause this bitch does what she pleases.

Guess what? She doesn't get punished. Instead she gets sent off to kill again continue her mission.

She DOES find life and this bitch IMMEDIATELY breaks what little rules she has (don't go planet-side) and thats the start of this romance.

I couldn't. The sheer privilege dripping from every word this bitch uttered turned my stomach. It didn't matter to her that she caused a genocide. She "wouldn't be denied her right!" to do what the fuck she pleased no matter who the fuck it could possibly hurt. I really wish someone would have killed the heroine.

If this keeps up...looks like Loki and I might break up.

Re-read 7/9/2021
I’ve thought about this book a few times, I could remember the “plot” but couldn’t remember the title. Well, imagine my surprise when I randomly stumbled upon it while perusing KU. I enjoyed this, but there’re caveats… This is sci-fi smut, it actually has more plot than typical in the genre, but still smut. The h is spanked, the sex is plentiful, and it's graphic…bordering on crude. The power balance is not equal, much like most shifter books, the alpha is the boss of the relationship… Loads of BBS with “punishments” etc. If you can get on board with all of that…it’s free to read with KU.

While I was reading this, I kept thinking that it reads sort of like if Transcendence was made into a porno… storyline porn, because there is a plot that IMO took up more page time than the sex… but similar. Tselia is a disgraced futuristic observer. Her job is to visit planets, and document findings without interacting… problem is she just does what she wants. While acting against orders she crash lands on a planet of barbarians. Zion is the tribe alpha, and claims her as his mate at first sight.

There’s plenty going on besides the sex. Tselia is adapting to a new world, Zion is trying to “help” her adapt. Their relationship develops from lust to love, and crazy wannabe OW is always lurking. The threat of her father coming for her. The couple can communicate, and we get dual POV’s.

Zion is the typical bossy (borderline abusive) alpha. Tselia is pretty self-righteous, spoiled, defiant, and entitled. She’s not always likeable, and tested my patience a few times. She’s not super down with her new situation, but it’s not like she has any other options. (either being frozen in stasis or a solitary life where touch isn’t allowed) She's constantly insulting everyone, calling them animals or idiots, and such, so it was hard for me to muster up any pretend sympathy for her. Zion spanks her ass several times, but pushing that aside😊 he was the kinder, more patient partner.

Bottom Line- I gobbled this up. BUT, I enjoy sci-fi, and I’m down with smut. I also LOVE jelly wannabe OW drama, and there’s loads of that. Safety-I’ve seen this in a few shifter books, but Zion has slept with most/if not all the unmated females. (alpha rights) Other than him telling us, and I believe he tells her once, that's it. Tyna might make a snarky comment, but it's not really brought up much. No cheating or OW drama. (other than the wannabe that’s not reciprocated) Dub-con/BBS, spanking, punishments.

Meh. It was short. There really wasn’t much romance. And Although there was descriptive sex scenes, it wasn’t very erotic to me. Definitely more towards domination: spanking, public sexual use as punishment.

The storyline with the heroine’s father being The Patron was a little watered down also.

But I didn’t hate it. It just didn’t sink it’s hook into me.
Short if you’re interested.

Tselia is on her last reprieve when her "punishment" is to monitor a planet, three light years away. She's inquisitive, rebellious, independent, and technologically advanced with an advanced DNA. Oh, and to make matters worse, she is the illicit daughter to the Patron of her planet.
Zion is a warrior of a primitive village where males are Dominant and females are submissive. Most males of the village have already taken a mate. Zion is considered a prize of status since a female has not caught his eye for more than casual use.
Loki Renard has given us two different worlds with two different social outlooks and living standards and found a way to combine them. How you ask? You'll need that pleasure yourself and I use the word "pleasure" intentionally. The D/s element is forefront with all the pain and pleasure you could ask for. But don't let that be the only influence. There is a plot which runs through the storyline with all the physical and emotional turmoil needed to keep the pages turning. Her characters are so personally relatable you'll be going through the experience with them. This is an intense read with all the extra benefits of a sexy discovery.

Fascinating future worlds going on, with the star girl meeting her beast from another world. She comes from the stars and is so far advance in technology, life, and years. He is descendant from those who landed thousands of years ago, and live a more basic and less advanced living. When the two meet, he claims her as his own, and teaches her his way, by any way possible. I very very VERY much enjoyed this (in one sitting)!!!

Disobeying The Prime Directive!🐺🔪

Far, far in the future. 🌎Earth year 10,442 CE.
Alpha Male Adult Sci-fi Erotic Romance💞 and Adventure

Tselia💃 is a young woman sent by her basically immortal father, the Patron, to the earthlike 🌍 planet Hades Exile, to stay in high orbit and scan for life forms. Under no circumstances is she to go to The surface. A lost colony of humans may have landed there 10 thousand years ago.

Of course being the curious and impetuous young woman she is, she takes a shuttle down for closer observations and is shot down by the primitive humanoids she discovers. OOPS!
By being shot down and taken prisoner and mated by a huge human male, Zion🐺🔪🍆⛲, Tselia has violated her father's orders and the Prime Directive.....

ARC Received from Booksprout🌱
I also got This book with KU

The book is written in first person POV by both main characters , which i am not fond of. It's an interesting book about humanity, inbetween the adult scenes, of which there are many.

This was a different read for me as I don’t normally read sci-fi type books, but this was really good and really dirty. There was spanking, claiming, anal, punishment, fighting. This book packed quite a punch. I might have to start reading more sci-fi books. It is definitely a must read. I will definitely be looking for more by this author.

So this is a book that will bring out many bad emotions in you. Emotions like rage, hatred, anger, confusion and a whole lot of literal face palms. Now this book certainly deserves some trigger warnings. It does involve I could argue the hero or anti hero in this book is in the truest sense of the word a barbarian and thusly lives a hard, dark life where the male rules with a red palm when necessary. I don’t want say rules with an iron fist because the only time the heroine is hit is when she’s being spanked. And I’ll be honest they’re not sensual spankings, truly painful from the sounds of it. Now I should put everything into perspective regarding the characters so you can formulate your own understanding of the book to see if it’s for you. The heroine is from a world thousands and thousands of years in the future. Her Earth species no longer truly inhabit planets, rather most ppl exist frozen in cryo. There are few humanoids across the galaxies and in fact the heroine herself is in search of more as part of her duties given forth by the new ruler, the Patron, also her father. She’s from a world where humans don’t have sex and they certainly don’t have babies, in fact her world rarely includes any form of physical contact at all and she is on her way to a three year independent trip when she kinda crash lands on the heroes planet. So in no defense of the heroes actions, the heroine was extremely annoying, in many ways I found her to be a pushover, whiny and in the nicest of ways, I’m pro feminist but this chick is a dirty whore. Perhaps her lack of human interaction has her craving contact in even the most brutal of ways but I’m sorry, I could not get over how quickly she always gave in. I really didn’t enjoy the book all that much, the hero always kept his alpha asshole ways and the heroine stayed pretty stale as far as development went. Sure some will see this as dark romance, I didn’t really, a little brutish for me but in arguing against myself here, the heroine really enjoyed herself. Sure she made excuses blah blah, but she truly was dare i say happy. The only time she wishes herself away its more because of fear of obligation rather than fear for her physical self. Does this barbarian like behavior cancel itself out when the heroine herself never feels brutalized? I’m not sure, maybe that’s why I was able to finish it 🤷🏼‍♀️ Either way I’m thinking this author may not be the one for me, but if you’re still interested in reading it, it is really short so I say go for it.

Instinct is a stand-alone, sci-fi romance with a few darker themes. Tselia is being punished and sent to the middle of nowhere in space to see if she can find any traces of human life that used to be on the planet, Hades Exile. She’s shocked that within hours, she finds live humanoid bodies on the planet, so she goes to investigate. But when her shuttle crashes, she finds herself within Zion’s clutches. She’s amazed by the bond she forms with him, but just as she starts to get comfortable with a brand new lifestyle, her past catches up to her. Can Tselia save the people she’s come to respect and even love?

Oh my! I was completely sucked into this story, right from the very beginning of the book, and literally did not put it down until the book was over. Tselia and Zion were everything gritty, instinctive, raw... coming from two completely different backgrounds led to some interesting arguments, imaginative punishments, but I loved their relationship, their dynamic, the way they opened each other’s eyes. Tselia never felt content with her life, always rebelling, always wanting more, trying to fill a void but couldn’t figure out how. Zion and Hades Exile fulfilled that yearning in ways she never could have imagined. Zion was overly dominant, understood the rules and way of life on his own planet, but knew as soon as he saw his star girl, she would be his and only his. I loved that Ms. Renard took the idea of instincts and went so much farther than I thought she would with the idea - imagining the hard things, trying to figure out what life might be missing if we were so technologically advanced. I was completely enthralled with this book, absolutely loved the ending, and just loved this untraditional romance!

Tselia is from a planet where there is no sex, it's outlawed but she is the product of an illicit affair her dad, the leader of the planet had. Dad keeps her busy doing work that basically keeps her in deep space doing observations of other planets looking for humanity. When Tselia spots what she thinks are humanoids, she takes a small shuttle from her ship to investigate closer but crash lands. Zion comes to rescue her just in time before a group of female warriors attack her and the story gets hot. Zion is the Alpha leader and he claims Tselia for himself and he has sex, lots and lots of sex. To break her in and teach her submission, Zion tells Tselia he might have to mate her daily, maybe even many times daily! There are punishments as Tselia doesn't understand that this planet is still evolving and body to body sex is all they know and how they procreate. Tselia has a lot to learn at the hands of her alpha leader and mate shows her. The female warriors don't like her and one hates her, they already had a taste of Zion's sexual skills, he is the leader after all and he can have anyone he wants. Zion wants Tselia and he will punish and use her until she understands the rules and his mastery of her body. Tselia's dad is bound to come looking for her and her curiosity gets her in a lot if trouble, but Zion's instincts keep her on her toes for the most part. There will be discoveries, a sinister plot, basic instincts and love to be found, not all bad and not all good. You will love this story, it keeps you turning the pages to find what new things will happen to all involved in this exciting tale.

Amazingly twisty and erotic, a total MUST-READ!
Two of the greatest needs of man are to feel a sense of community/of belonging and for one’s life to have meaning or purpose. In a quest to meet these needs, author Loki Renard gives her readers Tselia. A space explorer who has advance DNA and a rebellious spirit which leads her down a troubled path to this, her last chance. I absolutely fell in love with her and her quest to meet those basic needs. Needs that she did not realize she had, yet with every opportunity rebelled against their loss or denial. In “INSTINCT”, Renard’s latest novel, the high-tech, advanced alien, Tselia, is a female who must submit to the large Alpha male leader of the village, Zion, who finds her crash site and takes her for his mate! Renard does an exceptional job of building a world with enough similarities that human survival is not a stretch, while she concurrently develops a bevy of simple yet anomalous cultural customs that require both the readers and Tselia to pay attention! Add to that the emotional response this reader has to Renard’s phenomenally descriptive prose, it comes as no surprise that Renard had me feeling what the characters felt, fearing what the characters feared, smelled and so on. It is little wonder that “INSTINCT” has earned a 5+STAR response from this reader/reviewer. Exceptionally well written, Renard’s “INSTINCT” offers readers a great place to escape the tribulations of real life for a few hours, and as such “INSTINCT” by Loki Renard should be your next romance purchase! I voluntarily read an advanced copy of “INSTINCT” and this is my voluntary review! Get your copy of “INSTINCT” today! Happy pages! 😉

(This dark erotic sci-fi romance is an interesting sci-fi story

There's a sci-fi story here and not just "aliens capture human girls for fun and babies" either. There's a pretty simple way to determine if the story can stand on the sci-fi alone. What’s left when you remove the sexy parts? Is there still a good sci-fi story? That's how you know that it's a "real" sci-fi book and not “just” an erotic sci-fi romance.

Obviously, there’s nothing wrong with erotic sci-fi, and dark, sizzling sex scenes can often make the book better. But this one has an interesting back story, with Zion and his planet’s tribal societies and Tselia’s rule-driven, technocratic Earth (this i=Earth in the future) has more than a whiff of “Brave New World to it. e. It’s nicely written, and the characters aren’t cookie cutter.

Loki Renard has always been a very good story-teller, and she didn’t disappoint this time around. The premise of this book was unique and the characters were lively and engaging. I started and finished this book in one day; that’s how much I enjoyed this read.

What would happen if a woman from the distant future crash landed on a primitive form of our Earth, met others who share her similar DNA but who are still primitively tribal as compared to her life as an intergalactic traveler? Which way of life is better? Can she acclimate to this culture, fit in and become one of the tribe or should she return to the life she’s always known? These are only a few of the decisions our heroine must make through the course of this story.

This is a stand alone book with an HEA, and one I highly recommend.

-Minor Spoiler in Review-
I received an Advance Copy of this book and this would be the 2nd book I’ve read from Loki and I LOVED THIS!
Advanced Alien Girl ends up in a world that’s Cave Man Like, which for a slight spoiler? I guess, is one of her kind that separated itself from them to live like a human, so the ‘cave men people’ can speak ‘old’ (in the advanced kinds terms) but broken English.
I’m saying this to the peeps who get pissy when English is spoken in ‘old world’ books.
It was short-ish but compacted and I personally thought it was amazing. Right when it gets better it’s stops but to me it’s perfect, it’s a HEA but you get to dream the life she lived, im a sucker for those types. And won’t lie the epilogue brought tear to the eyes lol

Wonderful job, a recommended read for sure.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Tselia has been sent to observe a planet that possibly possesses a primative human settlement as punishment for her overly curious nature. As a star pilot she is to only observe, but when she sees there is a possibly humans, it lures her into exploring futher. While observing from her craft, she crash lands on the planet. There she is taken captive by Zion the leader of the tribe, with him she learns about all the things that were missing in her own sterile world. A well written fast paced love story that will capture you in its web and draw you in. Absolutly loved it and so will you.

I loved this book. Imagine being born on a culture that there is no sex and the discipline is not physical. Now you crash onto a land that lives completely different than you. And instead of avoiding sex, (which is actually outlawed where you are from) the Alpha leader has decided to claim you and now you have lots of sex. The food you eat, the way you behave is all handled by this man and boy is he hot!!! I love the connection with the characters and all the details that help you understand the two worlds. Definitely recommend!!!

I love Loki's stories and Instinct is one of her best so far (I think I say that with each new book)
Tselia and Zion meet in the most unusual way and become quickly attracted to one another. Their relationship is tumultuous and erotic and very combustible.
I love how Tselia is conflicted with what she knows and how Zion makes her feel.

Deeply confused

Ekkk, this was bad, And yet I knew all this when going into the book. I read the reviews, and yet I was bored and said " oh what the he'll" and I'm paying dearly for it. What a down right confusing read? Our main girl is a complete imbecile, she is already in tons of trouble and yet she has absolutely no care in the world to just keep on messing up. As I was reading the beginning I was slapping my head in disbelief, I was literally screaming, "w.e happens to you on that plant is you're own dang fault" I mean come on! So anyways once stupid goes and does what stupid wants to do she's taken right away, totally booty smacked and wienered by some beast dude until he is satisfied. So afterward she wants to like go back to her ship cause I mean, she really screwed the poodle on this one. Well now we are somehow reading a alien love story at its lowest, I think the hardest part for me was she was a big brat that was mean with her words, she kept calling him an idiot and degrading him, and it the same way, he was kind of a beast, he really didn't care what she wanted as long as she understood that this was her life now. It was a forced connection, if we can even call what they had a connection? Also I didn't get the whole mean girl thing, or them talking like regular humans with the cuss words, I hate when alien reads do this, build a different world with different beings with same dialect as regular humans. I didn't like how beast dude kept punishing her for things she didn't know since no one really explained the rules, I mean getting whipped because the guy had many jealous ex-lovers because he couldn't keep it in his pants, I mean why leave her valuable when you know these other chicks are out for her blood, come on! And yet she loved him? It was weird, the whole book was just one jumbled mess of weird? Didn't like anything about this book and I really should have really minded the reviews in the first place.

It's an erotica and it was pretty hot. There wasn't much else to it, the emotional chemistry wasn't there, and the plot was eh.

Tselia was what they call a "super human" as they got to live long lives and were advanced. As an explorer, Tselia was assigned to Hades Exile to observe the planet and report back if there was any life. The Patron (her dad and boss) didn't want her to land on the planet if there was life because she messed up badly during her last trip. She accidentally caused a war between factions because she let a high-ranking baby creature stay in her ship, causing a tribe to think the other took the baby. Up until this point, the book was going great, her accident was ridiculously hilarious albeit awful. And then Tselia had to defy orders and landed on the planet anyway. Throughout the book, she was depicted as an egotistical brat who didn't think the humans living in Hades Exile were human at all. But her deciding to go in was more than being a brat-- she knew how reckless she was and she didn't care about preventing another great war. The book could have her crash-landed but it chose Tselia to be a cold thoughtless girl.

Anyways, she was soon shot down and was protected by Zyon from the huntresses who wanted to kill her. Immediately, Zyon raped her on the spot and took her as his mate. And every time she gets bratty, he would punish her by whipping or spanking. It's nice that he acknowledged what a brat she was outright.

Tselia fell in love with Zyon too quickly and without reason. All we see them doing was fucking and spanking. The occasional talk about their evolution differences never caused them to see common ground. They were always conflicting and I don't see why Tselia loved him. Her wanting a family so badly was a lazy reason in my opinion, she wanted a family so she latched onto the first man she had sex with?

There was also a thing where it was clearly written her shuttle was shot down but Tselia didn't connect the dots until later later on. Zyon did mention her being slow to learn, so yeah that was accurate.

The leader of the huntresses, Tyna wanted to kill Tselia because Tyna wanted Zyon. One day, Tyna confessed she shot her down and went to beat her up. Tselia managed to get a slap in before Tyna descended upon her. Zyon and the other men came back and punished both women for fighting. Zyon paddled her and anal fucked her publicly.

Just then, the Patron came and wanted to take Tselia back. This part was just ugh. Tselia wanted to stay, confessed her feelings that the Patron was a bad father, the Patron wanted to make amends so he let her stay. The end.

So, I kind of get where the author was trying to go with this story, but it just didn't come together. The biggest reason is that the heroine is just kind of a whiny f×cktard.

description

There's really nothing redeeming about her character, and as I was reading, I couldn't decide if the author wanted us to like her or not. She causes all these bad things to happen, and then she looks for any way to blame somebody else. And she would change her mind so suddenly that it was hard to follow what she was doing. Like, she was all angry that Zion buried her shuttle, then suddenly, she just decided it was a good thing and she could be free. And later, Zion shows her an old spacecraft in a cave and she goes from planning to use it to call her ship down to deciding to be in love with Zion in the space of two pages.

description

She just goes from one emotional extreme to another throughout the story. It's hard to follow. And honestly, I don't get why Zion wanted to keep her.

Also, I don't think this book was really as dark as the precis made it seem. There was a lot of spanking

description

But that was about it. There's one public sex-punishment thing at the end, but it kind of made no sense. Tselia preemptively hit a woman who had just told others to hold her down so she could mess her up before Zion returns. And Tselia gets flogged and then banged, and the "villain" just gets banged. I don't get it.

Strange things lurk in the stars around us. Tselia is sent to observe a planet. Report back if life is found, but NOT to engage. The planet and people could be compromised by her. Only she doesn't listen, she is fascinated by the humanoids on the planet and decides to venture closer only to be hurled from the air onto the planet. It's there that she meets Zion, a huge man who declares her as HIS. He protects her, feeds her, loves her, and punishes her. Tselia doesn't understand what he is doing, she just keeps fighting him. It's not until they talk of her father, Patron and how mad he is going to be at her, does she seem to understand Zion better. He claims her days and nights. She is happy to hand them over to him if only he'd let her go back to her ship and leave.

Zion has the star girl, she is now his. She fights him over everything and must be punished. His body craves her and he will have her, but she will beg him for his seed. Zion will teach her the way of his village and keep her safe. Returning home to the stars is no longer an option for his star girl. She will stand and make babies with him, die with him, and love him. When push comes to shove with Tselia want to stay with him or return home? She is his, but does she understand that?

Zion is a grade A neanderthal. The planet isn't as evolved at Tselia is used to. They are simple people with no technology, they live off the land and survive as our neanderthal ancestors would have. Only the women are hunters and the men as used for sex until they mate. Once they mate they are off the market and are 100% committed to their partners.

I will say I love a good Sci-fi romance book. This hit most of the marks for me. Good world building, great male character who took what he wanted, climax at the end. But Tselia was my only issue, I felt like her age of 18 was too young. All in all a great story, great background on Tselia. You really understand where she is coming from and how she feels and why she does the stuff she does.

This is the first Loki Renard book I have read, simply because, although her books kept showing as "recommendations" for me, I ignored them, thinking, "this spanking thing is totally not for me".
Dare I say -- I stand corrected? (drum sting)
Seriously, though, the only reason I did decide to dive in here, was because I was bored with nano-short erotica, and because this is sci-fi. The idea appealed to me.

And surprisingly, the story was less about spankings and domination (though there was that too -- not for snowflakes, this one!), and much more about humanity, technology, biology, immortality, and loneliness. I found this fascinating, given the increasing dependence in today's world upon technology and the lessening of deep, human connection (due to many factors, of which social media and the internet are only two), and accountability.

Loki Renard has tapped into something that she can easily spin-out into multiple different story-lines, universes, and characters. It is, in its own way, brilliant.

The fact that this kernel of gold is wrapped up in the trappings of sex and spankings doesn't matter, because she makes one think about the reality of biology and survival, and what a cold, sterile universe it would be without the sometimes visceral, sometimes poignant, temporal human-ness of existence and instinct.

With that, I'm off to look at previews of some more of her books, and see if she manages to tread this swaying tightrope in her other works, with the same brutal grace...

I loved it!

The HEA had me crying buckets for the legacy they left behind. I loved the utter sci-fi of this romance. It was so full that I felt it was more than a romance it was sci-fi fantasy. The romance was sweet. I absolutely HATED all the hitting. I’m sorry but the hitting described here is what I consider abuse. I don’t care if it is BDSM or an extreme form of “love taps”, I find it abusive.

Still, I was impressed. The only other book I’ve read from this author was “Seeded” and that was a ridiculous joke of space p o r n, and NOT the sci-fi romance that I went into it thinking it was. THIS is the sci-fi space romance I was looking for and I can’t say it enough how much I loved it. I loved and hated the ending. It was so fulfilling but I would have liked to see it from the MC’s and not from the distant future by the Patron. Having made that complaint, I did love the HEA from the distant future from the Patron. If that makes any sense at all to you, lol.

If a book can give all the elements I went it to it for (sci-fi erotica insta-love romance), and yet give me elements I wasn’t expecting (falling in love, stimulating sci-fi world building and intellectual perspectives writing, and a tearjerker HEA ending), then it is a fantastic book to me. I will definitely reread this book which is my defining criteria for a good book. And I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did! I absolutely needed this book during this quarantine! Loved it, loved it, loved it!!!

Can Instinct trump Technological advances?

Instinct by Loki Renard is a great story and thought provoking.
Tselia is a scientific researcher from Earth's distant future. She is sent to observe a distant planet that may have life forms with related Earth DNA , but it is believed that they would be inferior and primitive. Tselia is very lonely and feels empty due to the customs of her advanced but sterile civilization. Despite orders to have no contact with the inhabitants of the planet, Tselia decides to get a closer look but her shuttle crashes, leaving her stranded. She is attacked by huntresses who wish to kill her to protect their civilization from outside forces, but Zion, the leader of the community is enamored by Tselia and protects her with the intention of making her his mate. As Tselia struggles to “fit into” this “primitive” society will she find what she didn't know she was missing? When “rescuers” from her own society arrive to take her back will she want to go, would she be allowed to stay? What impact could her interference have on this culture? This story is well written with several twists and turns and surprises. The ideas presented by the author are thought provoking. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Science Fiction and Romance, you won't want to put it down until you finish. A Great story.
I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Of all the planets, in all the universes.......

Tselia is part of a branch of humans that are technologically advanced, some kept in stasis and others that are emotionally disconnected, disease free, have extended lives, no physical intimacy and no reproduction.
Tselia is sent into space on a solo, years long mission. She struggles in this world/society of hers and longs for more, her impulses lead her to crash onto the planet under her observation. Running from danger she is captured, taken, mated and claimed by Zion, who is dominant, sentinel, sexual, caring and an alpha. He will discipline her as he sees fit in order to make her fit into his tribe and bind with him.
Two people from a shared genetic line, divided by technology, society and time, can love, lust, chemistry and more be enough to keep them together? Or will her Patron/father demand she be removed and punished for her disobedience, and what will Zion do?
There will be lessons learned, relationships lost and found, sacrifices made, and futures changed. Will there be a HEA in the stars for these two, or just a black hole of loneliness and despair?
There was a lovely epilogue that made my eyes mist, warmed my heart and touched my soul!
I started this book and could not put it down until I read those most depressing words a reader must eventually come to "The End".
Amazing story Ms. Renard!

I knew I would be getting an incredible romance with this one since it's by Ms. Renard, but it was so much more than that.

All the feels! This story is full of adventure, dreams, hope, fear, trust, love and peace. It is also full of hot, passionate sexiness. Tselia is strong-willed and stubborn to the point of frustration. She is also not very good at following the rules, thinks she will never be good enough or find her place in the universe, and she is lonely. Zion is just as strong-willed and stubborn, knows his place in the universe, and he is more than a match for Tselia. Their romance is extra spicy and full of passionate moments. It is also not supposed to happen. They not only have to figure out how to make their relationship work, if that is what they want, and Tselia needs to figure out how to fit into his world; they also need to convince the Patron that it is the best solution to the dilemma they find themselves in.
This read is an emotional roller-coaster that I never wanted to get off of. There were moments that broke my heart and moments when I wanted to smack each of them. It's a beautiful story told only the way Loki Renard can; with heat and believe-ability. It is definitely one I would recommend to anyone who loves the idea of space travel and steamy love stories.
