A sexy single billionaire businessman. A YouTube star. And the hottest night of their lives.
When I first saw him, I thought he was too hot for his own good and too cocky to resist. The perfect rebound from my break-up from hell. So I threw my usual rules out the door and challenged him to an anonymous hook-up. No names, no strings attached.
It left me aching in more ways than one.
So imagine my surprise when I show up for the first day of my new job to find him leading the company's annual meeting. We lock eyes through the crowd of employees, all the intensity from our hook-up like a live wire between us. And then he embarrasses me on purpose. Dick.
I just need to keep this job and make it big. I won't let this arrogant hottie get to me or into my panties. But he is so powerful and sexy, that when he gets me in the elevator alone again, I know my plan is flawed.
Flawless is book two in the Cocky Men series by J.D. Hawkins. This is my first book by this author.
Zoe Skye is a social media star. She films You Tube make up videos and has a huge following. Zoe just got out of a five year relationship. Her ex cheated on her. So when she meets a sexy man in a bar, she does something she’s never done before. She suggests a one night stand. No names, just a night of pleasure. Then they’ll never see each other again. Only, you know how those plans work!
Liam Bartock is CEO of LoveLife, a health and wellness company. His director of marketing is going out on maternity leave so they’ve hired a temporary replacement. One week before Liam had met a beautiful woman in a bar and they had an earth shattering night together. He regrets agreeing to her anonymity terms. He hasn’t been able to forget her. So imagine his shock when at their morning meeting, he looks up and there she is, his mystery woman. But now he’s her boss, which means hands off.
Liam is so close to finally developing his dream project, an app for all women to use to match them with the proper skin care products. Zoe shocks him again and again with her genius ideas in making the app a success. She’s beautiful and intelligent and everything he wants in a woman. The no fraternization rule was one he implemented. So who better than the boss to banish the rule!
Liam and Zoe definitely had chemistry. I don’t know why I just couldn’t connect with them. I just couldn’t seem to warm up to them. There was a lot of talk about the app and I felt myself zoning about a bit after awhile. I’ve had this book forever so I’m glad I finally read it. I just never felt the romance between these two, there was no swooning. And you know I need my swoons.

"5- This book was Flawless Stars!"
This was a sexy, smart, captivating read.
Flawless is the reason why I read romance. JD Hawkins has written a story with strong, smart, charismatic, sexy characters. But, what really impressed me about this story was the fact that Liam and Zoe were written as equals throughout the story. I also appreciated the various messages discussed in this book (this was the smart part of the book). Great writing and storyline!
Liam and Zoe were wonderful characters to read. They had off the charts chemistry. Their characters were entertaining, engaging and well developed.
This is one of my favourite contemporary romance reads this year.
Congratulations and thank you, J.D. Hawkins, for an amazing story!
Excerpt
I stand in the back corner of what I’ve realized is not simply a conference room but an auditorium, illuminated by the glow of the Exit sign. My breath catches in my throat, heart pounding like a fist against my rib cage. The man on the stage, the CEO of Omnilife, the Big Boss—Liam Bartock—glances up through the applause for his speech. Somehow, in spite of all the people in that auditorium, our eyes meet, and I take in the same slate grey eyes, the same stubbled jawline, the same swoop of dark hair.
It’s him.
The man from the hotel.
I flashback to the hotel conference room, a warmth growing inside of me, a longing. The memories vivid enough to send tingling waves shooting through my pussy.
JD Hawkins writes erotic romance with modern-classic alpha males and strong, independent women. He currently lives with his wife in Austin, TX. He loves to travel and has lived in many places, including LA, New York City, India and Thailand. When he isn’t writing, JD enjoys surfing, training in Mixed Martial Arts, reading and taking naps. He once dreamed of becoming a ballerina. He’s always loved making up stories, especially ones inspired by real life.
Zoe's hot night with a gorgeous, sexy stranger is just what she needs that night. But then she walks into her new company and whose eyes meet hers as he's heading the company meeting? Yep, you guessed it - her gorgeous stranger. Oops...
I've read a lot of JD's writing, and I have to say that Flawless is by far my favorite. And Zoe's my favorite part of the entire story because she's kickass! She's smart, strong, dreams big and has a huge heart. Liam, damn is that man hot! I have to admit though, that he came across as quite the dick at first and I wondered if he was going to be a typical cold, arrogant alpha, and he was kinda, but only on the surface. Underneath he was far more with a heart almost as big as Zoe's. The two of them fit together in the best kind of ways, and made Flawless one of my favorite reads of the year.
When I read JD Hawkin's Unprofessional a while ago, I was drawn in. This was the kind of office romance story I absolutely loved! Well, Flawless went into the same vein of office romance, but without the friendship element. And I think, overall, that is what I was missing from this. It felt like the story was more centred on their business idea, and then the occasional fuck, than the establishing of an actual connection (beyond physical) between the main characters. From board meeting to fuck to random romantic gesture, it still missed the heart and soul of two people connecting as more. Often hindering them was not listening to each other, and going off on things they imagine rather than actually talking to one another, communication is not their strongest suit. I'd argue, this is also in part due to a tendency to tell and not show, as each told the reader how amazing the other was, without that being backed up in actions prior, or even after. All of this took me out of the story, and I couldn't connect to anyone. Side characters could have provided more depth, but even they were used more sparingly and as flat props, that I didn't feel they contributed much either. Overall, just not a story I could connect to in any way, and felt didn't give me much of an actual romance, instead an ongoing enemies to lovers office affair.
If you want a feel good story, you should read Flawless. Liam and Zoe, just wow. The chemistry was so real. I love that Zoe is a strong woman and not the average sassy girl in most romance books. Liam as billionaire CEO is amazing. Again not your average Alpha male who growls "she is mine". You believe in them and want to be friends. Even the side characters I loved in this story.
You should see me smile right now, writing this review. Lol Definitely 5 stars and again I wish I could give more.
I loved this book a lot. It started out with a bang ( literally). Off the charts hot! It was kismet for Zoe and Liam from the start. I love the confidence Zoe has in herself knowing what she wants in the business world and her personal life. She was a perfect match for the confident CEO, Liam. This book was a little angsty, very hot. I am sappy and always love a HEA. Another great read by JD Hawkins.
The premise of this story is not new; the broken hearted heroine meets a hot Greek God of a man over drinks and takes the opportunity to get over her ex by getting under someone else! Confidence restored and anonymity intact, or so she thought, until she walks into her new job on Monday and comes face to face with her weekend fling, who just happens to be her new boss!
But Hawkins doesn't just deliver a run-of-the-mill office romance where confrontation leads to some serious chemistry building, and the H and h falling back between the sheets. Though when they do, the heat in the bedroom is off the charts HOT!
In Flawless he gives us a super strong female lead in Zoe; she's successful driven and determined, no shrinking violet in sight here, and his hero Liam, though predictably the alpha billionaire with a side of arrogant a@$, is also a multi-layered vunerable yet guarded man that slowly reveals his inner romantic.
For me though, despite how much I loved both of these characters and how their relationship bloomed, the appeal was really in the authors supporting storyline of the project the two developed, the attention to detail and the message behind it and how it bound the characters together.
However you break it down, this is another 5 star read by Hawkins and well worth your time!
A one night stand no names no expectations except a night of hot sex with no strings. What could possibly go wrong? Turning up to her new job guess who's there yup mr sexy. Zoe and Liam have insane chemistry which makes for a fun read. The book was funny, sweet and emotional with great characters that keep tiu invested in the story.
JD Hawkins writes the steamiest, hottest, most fiery books!!!!! Omgosh I MUST thank my friend Joanne Peckham for turning me into this phenomenally talented author!!!! Flawless was just that, FLAWLESS!!!! I need more than five stars!!!!!
I absolutely loved this book and what a fun refreshing read it was. It was an original premise for my reading and I loved the characters and their dynamics. The push and pull truly was so good for my heart and of course maybe a little steam built into the story line too
I usually love this author but this one didn't do it for me. It seemed like a really long business meeting with some really hot sex and a touch of predictable angst. The writing is super intelligent and Zoe is very smart, sassy and confident. It's amazing a male author can write such a great female lead who deals in make-up and skin care. Some may love this book, it just wasn't for me.
A great contemporary romance with some humor. Zoe just got off of a bad relationship and had a one night stand with Liam but neither know there names. Until Zoe gets a new job and her boss ends up being you guested it Liam. I love Zoe her strength and her attitude is amazing! Liam I love his sexiness and his love. Oh and the chemistry between them is off the charts! Definitely don’t pass this book up! 5/5 stars
Ok, here we go, another book that didn't work out for me.
Same ol', same ol'. Boy meets girl, girl meets boy, get together, conflict, HEA. And I think I'm getting tired of them. Guess I need something more to quench my reading tastes nowadays. If it wasn't for a challenge I would have abandoned it.
This story was so cliche and predictable, I just couldn't... It started out well enough for me, they meet, have a ONS and meet each other again as boss and employee. There was some tension between them at first bc the H acted like an asshole at the office and I thought "Yes, please. Is this going to be an enemy-to-lovers story?" Well, unfortunately, the answer is no. They fall in love too fast for my liking and there was just too much business talk. They lost me at that point but I forced myself through it because damn it, I NEEDED to finish this book for that challenge!
It could have been a 3 star read but what tipped the book into 2 star territory was that awful "conflict". It felt like it came out of nowhere. Based on WHAT exactly did the h decide to lie and come to the conclusion that the H wouldn't like the idea of her and her ex meeting up? I mean he wouldn't jump in joy but the reason is as understandable as it comes . There was absolutely no indication that the H would have something against it. I would have understood her reasoning if there was a jealousy scene somewhere in the book where the H reacted strongly against another male but there was none. She hid it based on nothing. So, of course, shit hits the fan, they argue and break up. So freaking predictable.
I'm struggling with how to rate the conflict resolution at the end. I needed the h to take initiative and seek out the H herself to grovel and explain, not the other way around. That would have been the only way for her to earn back my respect and if the H didn't want to listen then she should have marched into his office and made him listen to her. The author took some weird middle ground . So the H seeks her out and the h made him listen. But does that count as the h groveling? Not really, because the H already made up his mind to go back to her and grovel himself. Ok, scratch my struggling. I don't like that resolution.
Each book of J.D. Hawkins’ that I’ve read, I’ve just fell in love with and that’s mainly due to the fact that he knows what exactly his readers want and he carefully plans out to make each one so different and unique. When an author knows exactly how to attract their target audience and uses it as a way to create such a great story, you know that they are doing a good job and that’s exactly the case with J.D. Hawkins. The only thing that I’d love to see from him, is that he either makes his books into series as we get to read about other characters and you can’t help but be intrigued by them or if he’s going to do standalones, then he should do it in a way, that his other characters intertwine and you get a bit more of previous ones. Other than that, I can’t actually fault him for his work, he’s done everything you could ask for in a book and I was completely hooked with this book, it was everything you could have wanted or expected from him. Seriously, if you’re a fan of his work, you’re going to want to grab this one, if you’ve not read his work, then go and rectify that so that you can see how much of a good writer he is.
Zoe is a YouTube star and she is very good at what she does. With a career in Marketing, she’s such an incredible girl. Smart, sexy, and good when it comes to crisis. She has it all, well until she discovers that her boyfriend dumps her for a co-worker, everything comes crashing down on her. But that’s not going to let that stop her, she continues to do what she does best and keeps going with life, however when she’s at a Make-Up convention her curiosity gets the better of her when she first sets eyes on him…. One night, should have been enough so she thought but her life takes a complicated turn when she sees him again on her first day at her new job.

4 Stars
Flawless was a fast-paced, smart and sexy read. The story flowed seamlessly with unnecessary drama. It had me laughing, swooning and left me in a feel-good mood.
From the very beginning Zoe and Liam started off with a BANG and it was no mistaking their attraction. And when they see each other again it’s a surprise to both of them. But it’s no denying that that spark between them is still there and burning bright. And it’s hard to keep their feelings at bay since they’re being pulled towards each other. And when they start listening to what they want, we’ll let’s just say it’s explosive.
Flawless was lighthearted and filled with awesome characters. What I really liked was that Zoe and Liam were both portrayed as equals. No “your ego is bigger than mine” which just brought more to the story as well as the characters. I really enjoyed this story and especially Zoe and Liam. Once again, another winner by Mr. Hawkins.
Urban Dictionary of "Flawless means that you are beautiful and amazing sexy and doesn't care what haters think." JD Hawkins has definitely written a beautiful, amazingly sexy story and you can tell he doesn't care about the haters. From the first page, the book is sizzling with an off the chart sex scene that continues throughout as the two main characters develop not only their personal relationship but also their professional relationship. Liam puts a new vision on what women see as a dominant alpha male. He knows his way in and around a bedroom, boardroom, and a woman's body. He meets his match with Zoey who isn't afraid to challenge him and ultimately make him a better man. What starts out as a one night stand with no exchange of names becomes potentially something that a lifetime can be made from if we don't let the past interfere. Check this one out and you won't be disappointed.
You can’t get much better than a JD Hawkins book to settle down and read for a few unfettered hours. Flawless was was a perfect example of one of these books. It’s hot, scorching actually and from start to finish it just keeps getting hotter. Zoe and Liam have a sparkling chemistry that is in the stratosphere of attractions, they made a wonderful couple. Zoe is a strong, no nonsense but very likable character, she’s got a smart tongue and a fiery sense of humor. Liam isn’t your standard alpha male and neither is his business. He and Zoe work together and try to keep their relationship under wraps. But how well does that work? They have a few hills to climb, with a little bit of angst on the way but we still get what we want it the end. Truly enjoyable dirty read, up there with the best of J.D!! Can’t ask for more than that.
Zoe Skye is on the outs after he boyfriend of four years leaves her for another woman. So when she runs into a guy at the bar in the hotel at a make up convention she agrees to one night, no names, no hold barge. She never expects to see him again.
Liam moved to Austin, TX to get away from the woman he worked with but he thought he also loved. Office romances never work. And he caught her cheating.
So when his new marketing director for the make up app he plans to launch, is standing in the back of the auditorium at his staff meeting is none other than the mystery woman.
They plan to keep the professional boundaries up.....until...
The steamy mystery to boss to lovers romance was fabulous. Must read.
Flawless by J.D. Hawkins was a sexy and steamy read and I loved it. A single, charming and beyond sexy millionaire and the rising online star making a name for herself and one unforgettable night. I picked up this book and could not put it down until I was done!
I loved Liam and Zoe. Their chemistry was off the charts and their banter was fun and witty. They were smart, hardworking and driven. Zoe was such a strong female character and I loved that about her. Liam was strong and arrogant, but we also get to see a caring side of him as well. They were great together and I loved their journey! This is a must-read for sure. The story was more than an office romance, but heartfelt and charming as well!
4.5-stars! Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog. Happy reading!
I opened this book to escape today. My mood was down in the dumps and just cracking this open improved my mood. I love when the story starts with a steamy one night stand and leads to a surprise meeting later, in Liam and Zoe's case, he's her new boss. She's a strong, talented, intelligent, and confident woman. Liam is an smart, sexy, fairly enlightened man, if a bit quick to judge. They initially aren't going to pursue their continued chemistry; well, and Liam is a bit of a dunce to start with his hot and cold; but they simply can't deny it, although they do keep it on the down-low to start. Both have their baggage, but they figure it out. Obviously the move to Austin has influenced our fearless author a bit. I absolutely loved this book. And does that app exist? I could totally use that!! And Garfield makes me miss my orange furball. I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Is it wrong to say my favorite part was the really cool job? It sounds terrible but the idea behind this big project is just too cool! It got me excited. I was pumped up. I want it to be real! (Is it real? Realish? I don't follow beauty or makeup stuff so...) Aside from my ignorance, I had fun reading Flawless.
The background of the story really gave it life. I'm a weirdo and details and motivations really make the story click for me. Flawless had them. I enjoyed being along for this ride. I love the sassy, feisty heroine who doesn't take "no shit from nobody". (Ignore the Cool Runnings quote.) And even though he comes off like a total ass, Liam definitely doesn't maintain that impression.
Flawless isn't entirely bump free though. Every story has it troubles but the end...it is truly Flawless.
Wham bam thank you mam romance ! Zoe is recently split up with her boy friend and going to work in a temporary job in marketing for a business with a new makeup app they are launching . Liam is the CEO of the company and whose idea for the app has a personal story behind him wanting to develop it . A chance meeting and both of they fantasize about each other .but are not looking for a permanent romance .
When Liam and Zoe meet sparks fly and they spend one amazing night together no strings attached. No names or other information and both think they’ll be a clean break. Until Zoe is sitting in a meeting and in walks Liam who is her new boss. Will sparks fly again or will they keep distance?
When two entrepreneurs get together with the common goal of launching a product, they have to learn to work together. The only kink in the plan is the attraction between the two. It’s a great read that we’ve come to expect from Hawkins.
A 5 star read which, in many ways, is a song of praise to all things female. JD writes strong, successful, wonderful women who own their careers, lives and sexuality. They value and treasure their friends and know how to work hard and have fun. In Flawless, Zoe and Liam get off to an exciting start, to put it mildly, with an instant, intense attraction. Their relationship is chronicled with a sort of romantic joy that you don't often read and I loved it. In fact I loved the book, and this leading pair, from start to finish. Lovely xxx
I really enjoyed Liam and Zoe. I love reading JD's books because the stories he produces are excellent. The chemistry bewteen Liam and Zoe was phew HOT!!
Witty, charming, sexy and charismatic! Personally and professionally these two characters rock the pages of this new romance! I loved it, I believe this is one of my favorites to date.
