even short reads deserve a quick epilogue... the ending was so abrupt

also, the fact that he decided to let her go... to pursue her dreams or whatever.. he could have said f*ck it, I have all the money in the world, I could follow her anywhere and he with her... his passivity pissed me off

This book was decent. It was a quick shifter insta-love/mate book. It ended kind of abruptly for me. Colton and Hannah were instantly attracted when they meet. Colton realizes she's bis mate.

Hannah doesn't know about shifters and is amazingly calm when she finds out. They spend one night together and then she's going to leave to head home to Chicago.

Heat level was 🔥🔥1/2. Decent quick read but it could have used a better ending in my opinion.

Dr.Hannah Cooper is from Montana, but working in a Chicago hospital. She has been left a heft inheritance from an uncle she barely remembers. The attorney handling the estate suggests she gets a divorce from her absentee husband of 10 years, so he cannot lay claim to her inheritance. The problem is she has no idea where he is, because she has not kept in touch with her high school friends while she was attending medical school.
she contacts her less than friendly sister-in-law, who says he is working up in Kodiak, Alaska somewhere.
Hannah takes a flight, rents a car, and crosses to the island on a ferry. She plans to stay one night at Burke Cabins, a rustic metal cottage heated by a wood stove. The first item on her agenda is to go to Sterling Outfitters to get a nice warm sleeping bag. While she is in there she has to save the life of a little boy who swallowed a Lego. Colton Sterling comes out when he hears the distressed wails of a mother. Hannah gives the boy the Heimlich and saves his life. She tells the mother to take him to the emergency room or his doctor, and she is told there are no medical facilities on the island.
Colton offers his jump plane and pilot to take the family to the hospital.
Colton is a bear and as soon as he smells Hannah, he knows she is his true soulmate. He gives her the sleeping bag as a gift, just so he can talk to her. He sleeps in the woods in his bear form just to be close and protect her from the wolf pack. Hannah is jogging with headphones in and she does not hear Colton killing one wolf and injuring another.
Hannah finds her husband Brad who won't sign the papers until he can take her out to dinner. At dinner he says its always about money with her and he wants a second chance to prove his love for her. He gets rough with her both inside and outside the restaurant and Colton is there and demands he let go of her. Brad flips out and turns were wolf and Colton turns bear and they start fighting it out, until Brad tucks tail. Hannah gets an eyeful of one sexy, naked Colton, and is turned on even though she watched him turn bear.
Colton has to protect Hannah and find up what is really going on with the wolf pack, because the bear clan had an accord with them.
Colton gets a night of bliss with his mate and she is leaving in the morning, or is she?

Billionaire Bear's Bride by Candace Ayres is the first book in her Kodiak Island Shifters series. Colton Sterling is one of three brothers that own Sterling Outfitters, a billion dollar company. He is also a Kodiak grizzly bear shifter. Hannah Cooper is a doctor from Chicago that has come to Port Ursa, Alaska to get a divorce from the husband she hasn't seen or head from in ten years. After high school, Hannah and Brad went on vacation ending up in Las Vegas were they got married on a drunken whim. A month later they walked away from each other and went on with their lives like it never happened.
This story is full of excitement, intrigue, sexy shifters, betrayal, surprised and love. It's a great book to curl up with for the day and escape. I can't wait to read more of this series. I can wait to see what Candace dreams up for the rest of the Kodiak shifters. I received an ARC from the author. This is my voluntary honest review.

Hannah needs to get a hold of her estranged husband and get the divorce. It has been ten years since they last laid eyes on him. Finding out that he is now living in Alaska was a new twist. So she went to get his signature. But what she didn't know was that going to the Kodiak Island she was no longer safe. Here shifters ruled. Bears and wolves oh my. And her ex is one of the wolves. But the man who has befriended her is not what he seems. She is a doctor for pete sake. What happens when she is introduced to this new world? Will she run screaming? Or will Colton her new hero be able to let her know that she is now in the best hands, er paws, around? This was a very fast audio book to listen to.

I've read the Twilight Series but this is my first full on shifter novella and the conventions are strange to me. I know this is fiction but still if a bear kills a wolf shifter a human dies, the legal implications baffle me, I suppose that's why this is set on a remote island in Alaska. Under the circumstances I would say the doctor's reaction was rather restrained. We are treated to a make-out scene with the well-hung hardbodied Colton. If this is your kind of thing Colton has two equally well-endowed brothers whose stories follow. I am disappointed that a medical doctor didn't insist on safe sex.

Hannah and Brad were married in Vegas after graduating from High School. Once the trip was over, they amicably part ways with Hannah going to Medical School and then doing her residency to become a doctor losing track of her friends and her husband. When her Uncle dies leaving her his estate the attorney advises she get a divorce before the money is transferred just to protect her interests. Tracking her husband to Alaska in order to get the divorce papers signed she meets Colton. This was a short, easy read.

Plot was great. Loved the drama that went along with it. The characters were also good. Loved the strong independent heroine and the protective hero.

I like shifter books because of the possessive hero and lots of spicy scenes. This one was lacking the spice. I really wanted more.

Hannah is inheriting a lot of money but since she's married but have not seen him for 10 years she now must locate Bradley .Colton is a bear shifter when Hannah comes into his shop his bear goes nuts for me the stories got a lot of shifter magic that will have you turning the pages.

This was a quaint story. I'm not actually sure how the shifter world works here, but it seems wolves and bears don't get along. The character are developed well, but not deeply because this is a short story. Some parts are confusing, and Hannah for being a Doctor is totally obvious at points in this story. Overall, the story does not disappoint and you are left with that romantic happy feeling.

Sexy, fun and full of heat, this quick tale is about Colton, a grizzly bear shifter and his mate, Hannah. He has just 24 hours to woo and win his mate before she leaves Alaska forever. A great read that is very entertaining.

I had a great time curling up in my couch and escaping into this book. It's got everything you want; sexy shifters, excitement, betrayal, intrigue and action! Hannah is a doctor from Chicago who got married on a drunken whim a while ago and needs to head to Alaska to get a divorce. There she meets Colton, a successful businessman who was never content until he found his one true mate.

How to get more readers 101 — aim your book at both the billionaire and shifter market. This, however sells the book short. It is much better than the general billionaire books and on-par for the majority of shifter ones. Enjoyable but not a lot of depth. However, it is a short story .
PS The guy above is much better looking than the one on my e-book.

Don't think I will remember it tomorrow though. On going to write a review, I found that I had already read this as a free read from Instafreebie. Didn’t remember it.
Decent characters but everything happens so quickly.
Back story with a nasty wolf shifter who is not dealt with so he will probably be in the next book.

This is the first book in the Kodiak island shifters. Hannah arrives on kodiak island to get her divorce papers signed. She hasn’t seen her husband for over ten years. But she is suddenly in danger and Colton steps in to protect her. The attraction is immediate. A story but good book.

This being the first book of three it went smoothly. Loved reading how gob smacked Colton was with meeting his true mate for the first time. But also enjoyed that his mate felt the same but not knowing why. Her, soon to be ex-husband, who she hasn't seen in at least ten years was a complication. But it all worked out in the end. Loved reading all the ups and downs with this book.
