Kirie: I was taken from my family, brutalized by Grande Pharma, and handed over to the psychopath Controller Lark as his plaything. Controller Lafayette saved me. Expecting punishment at every turn, will I ever overcome my shattered past to serve my new master the way he demands?
Lafayette: The Stack is in turmoil. The Alaxians are fighting back. In the midst of dealing with all of this, I can only think of her. The slave I found in a cage. Beautiful. Broken. She is mine, now, and I will teach her to obey me in everything.
Publisher’s Note: This steamy dark sci-fi tale features total power exchange, dominant alpha males, and potentially triggering situations. If any of these elements bother you, please do not purchase. This is the third and final book in the Unbreakable series. While it can be enjoyed as a standalone, reading book one, Invaded, and book two, Defiled, is highly recommended.
Aria is an author of dark erotic romance. Her heroes are not always immediately obvious, and neither are the villains. Her books often have elements of horror, and the characters at the end of a story are forever changed by the events that befell them. But she always makes sure there's a happy ending, even if the characters have to work for it.
Aria also writes the warm fuzzy romance stuff as Katie Douglas.
“Punished” is the final installment within the Unbreakable series and although it can be read as a standalone, I strongly recommend reading the prior entries for total enjoyment. Professionally written and fast-paced, “Punished” effectively concludes the overarching theme of the series. The story-line flows seamlessly and although not quite as action packed as prior novels, “Punished” is filled with intrigue as well as suspense, and long-awaited questions are amply answered. In a departure from previous books, the main characters in “Punished” are both human and the attraction intensifies as the plot progresses. Kirie is an extremely sympathetic heroine having been subjected to incredible cruelty and Lafayette is the ideal dominant who understands her, providing the structure Kirie needs to heal. Lafayette’s portrayal captures the essence of what it means to be a dominant, placing your partners needs before your own. Additionally, interwoven into the story-line is another couple, Grande Pharma’s former (human) Director and a captured alien doctor. From a personal perspective, refocusing the story-line on a different couple tends to interrupt the story’s flow but in this case the author pulls it off flawlessly due to significance of the Director as a secondary character. Appearances by previous characters support the story-line and help to drive the narrative forward at a rapid pace as well as satisfy fans of the series. Please note: this is a dark, erotic story and may not be suitable for everyone.

This third book in the series is written in two parallel streams as Director Harrow’s and Kirie’s stories, but rest assured that they do interconnect at some point.
We are given valuable insight into Harrow’s decisions and goals from her gathered karma debts.
Kirie’s story is unique in that her experience at Grande Pharma begins at an early age, and she has learned to survive all she was subjected to, until her days as a mindless slave to Controller Lark abruptly ends, and she is saved by Controller Arundel, a man who has his own secrets.
The governing of the Stacks has been long overdue for change to better the lives of the humans it houses, only it cannot be done alone.
Dark but engaging and informative, this installment was an interesting contrast to the earlier books, but it quite smartly connects them at the same time.
Loved this read! This is the third and final book in the unbreakable series, which can be read as a stand-alone. Kirie was given as a slave to an evil man and when the Alaxians bombed the stack she was rescued by Lafayette who plans to keep her for his own. Kirie had been through so much I love how her story ended. Harrow was blamed for what was happening to the humans and given to Rahul, an Alaxian who plans to train her to submit, but will he take her as his mate? Lots of drama and loads of steam. A great alien/sci-fi read!
I really, really enjoyed this story. It's not terribly deep and meaningful read but it IS hugely entertaining, well written, steamy and twisty. It has touches of darkness, though is more in the lighter grey range.
The story mainly follows Kirie and Arundel Lafayette, who are a strange pairing but who somehow fit beautifully together. There is also a side story of Harrow, who definitely gets her just deserts but ALSO gets the perfect male for her brand of cold in the Alaxian Rahul.
I highly recommend this great read, the writing flowed smoothly, the plot was engaging and the pace held my attention. Some of the punishments are quite extreme but they aren't painful, as such, and Harrow actually seems to appreciate, if not enjoy, them. Whilst Kirie has been treated awfully, we don't experience much of that 'first hand', so the story didn't feel overly dark.
It nicely ties up the Human/Alaxian conflict, though there is still opportunity for further books in the series. It can be read as a stand alone, I have read book #1 of the series but not book #2 and easily followed it. I did enjoy this more than the first book, my only complaint is that it ended! I could have happily read more about these couples!
YOU ARE MINE—YOU OBEY ME—TRANSGRESSIONS WILL BE PUNISHED
Warning, if you can’t handle extremely dark erotic horror, depraved, graphic scenes, ones that include gory details, is non-consensual, including rape and death, don’t read. This is NOT a sweet romance as most people want to see; it is a male alien captive and a female human captive placed together by Grande Pharma. They are both prisoners, and there is no trust—and one has greater control over the other. The story is a dystopian world, control by elitist.
Wow, how the mighty fall and when they topple, the penalty is harsh. The Stack will be attacked, and the majority of the military will be demolished. Controller Lafayette has enough sense to know with Controller Lark deceased, and the powers of Controller Wilson that Dr. Harrow will try to gain control, so instead he will have her arrested, drugged and placed in with an Alaxian prisoner and allow the fates to happen.
“You are mine, now. Mine to obey, mine to touch, mine to punish. Whatever you were before, you are mine now. You obey me, or I will make you wish you had. Do you understand? From now on, you will call me master. I am going to begin training you to submit to me the way I want you to.” –Alaxian Rahul
“I understood now, what it felt like to be totally helpless and dominated by a man. I hated it. I loved it. I detested that I loved it.” --Harrow
Lafayette will find a female caged in Lark’s room and rescue her and decide that he is now her new master. The poor girl doesn’t know what this will mean for her, but in reality, Lafayette is her savior, not jailor—but for how long will that last? When will he sell her or allow others to use her, as Lark did?
The story is two in one. It will have the fall of many Elitist in the Stack, including from Grand Pharma, Harrow where she will become the slave of an Alaxian, Rahul. It will also have Kirie rescued by Controller Lafayette and shown a different side of a master-slave relationship.
The story may be the last in the series, and it brings a conclusion to many issues, including peace for both the Human race and the Alaxian race. Hopefully, together they can live together, and both prosper without being held prisoners and enslaved by others.
“Our generation had been through a lot, and sacrificed a lot, regardless of whether we were human or Alaxian. But we had changed the things our ancestors had broken long ago, and that would pave the way for the future by whatever our children wanted it to be.”
The story includes graphic and explicit scenes, including non-consent, rape, mind-control, physical violence, with an extremely dark romance eventually. The story does end on a happier note and is the third in a series.
I believe this is the end of a three book series set in this incredibly scary post-apocalyptic world. I imagine you could read this book first, but it would be much more enjoyable to start at the beginning. I expected this book to be about Kirie, who has been a slave the majority of her life, and Controller Lafayette, a leader of the humans and the Stack and the man who saved Kirie. But this book was about two couples. It is also about Director Harrow (the mastermind behind the cruel experiments on Alaxians and humans alike) and Rahul (one of the last Alaxians left in the Stack). I’m a little conflicted about this review, because I LOVED Kirie and how her relationship unfolded with Lafayette. Most of the darkness is in what happened in the past to Kirie, and there are still plenty of sizzling hot chemistry and scenes. I really wanted SO MUCH MORE OF THEM. BUT, I was tormented by Harrow’s story. Harrow is a sociopath. She’s done horrible things to so many people (and aliens). As I was reading, I was saying to the kindle, “No, I don’t want to see any other side of her. She’s a horrible person.” Then I looked inward, I’ve read plenty of dark romances where the male hero has done plenty of bad things, even killed or tortured people, and I’ve accepted them (eventually) even loved them by the end. There were plenty of hot times between Rahul and Harrow. I just wish I would have gotten more from her. More redeeming qualities, maybe.... But in the end, even with all that, I have to give this book high marks. A book that can make me think for days and feel so conflicted, as well as be really sexy and of course very well written? Well, that is the kind of book I’d want to read any day.
Punished is the last of a three book series from Aria Adams. This book is advertised as being possibly a standalone but with reservations. I would say read the series in order because that way you will understand exactly what is going on. These stories are tough with no punches pulled, the sex is not particularly erotic in fact it is painful and punishing, the narrative however is very good and Ms Adams can certainly tell a compelling story. The main characters in this story are Kyrie who was taken, age 14, from her family home because she liked to read children books. She was tortured and experimented on by Grande Pharma until she was permanently changed and then when there was nothing more they could do with her 'unbreakable body' she was given as a slave to the military leader who is a soulless evil individual. She was subjected to unbelievable punishments both sexually and physically. After an explosion in which her cruel master is killed she is found by one of the Senior Controllers of the Stack, Arundel Lafeyette. He takes her into his home and begins to slowly retrain her to be human again and whilst doing this becomes totally besotted with her. This book continues from the second story and dots all the Is and crosses all the Ts and completely rounds off the story in a very satisfying way. Some of the characters in these stories are despicable however and I found it difficult to be invested in their particular stories, which is why I have only given 4 stars instead of 5. These books are not easy to read the sex is graphically brutal and the violence is worse but the story is sound but be warned there are no warm fuzzy sections in these books.
I must admit that I thoroughly enjoyed reading this splendid, dark & twisted futuristic post apocalyptic alien Sci-fi romance, sadly this is the third & final book in this series. The characters are unique with well-developed complex personalities. Some of these characters display deviousness intentions combined with determination to achieve their goals. The plot is suspenseful with dark explicit elements & unexpected events. It definitely keeps the reader’s attention. There is: a company running unethical experiments (Grand Pharma), a human female abducted as a child then tortured & experimented on (Kyrie), the sadistic military leader she was give to (Controller Lark), the controller who rescues her & takes her for his own (Controller Lafayette), a scientist receiving punishment for failure (Director Harrow), the alien who’s cell she is thrown into (Rahul), alien attacks (Alaxians), twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, danger, evil, enemies, violence, attacks, explosions, deaths, conflict, torture, abuse, fear, confusion, memories, experimental atrocities, drugs, punishment, spanking, disbelief, domination/submission, BDSM, peace talks, claiming, mates, negotiations, acceptance, surprises, contentment & explicit forced non-consensual/consensual sexual content. I really would recommend this futuristic post apocalyptic alien Sci-fi romance to people who enjoy reading this genre. I sincerely doubt that you would be disappointed in this book.
This is a tough one. I, personally, have loved this series and have read each one. Though, most think the plot of an alpha/Dom/alien dominating a feisty, hard-headed female theme (is there even such an official theme?) overplayed, in this case, I don't. It has a good plotline overall for the series. Humans had to leave Earth 65 earth years ago and now are trying to kill all the native aliens (Alaxians) on the planet they landed on. Because we're human, we don't like things we don't understand, so enter Grand Pharma and they're sick experiments. And so the plot begins. . . Anyho, in this book the series in finally drawing to a close. It is really a story of 2 sets of people Rahul/Harrow and Lafayette/Kirie. In the past, it was only one set so it allowed for a deeper understanding of the characters and better scene descriptions. I think by combining 2 stories it felt like the story for cut in half. I really have no idea why even bother with one or the other couple, honestly. Though either story was okay, it would have been even better by itself. This book felt like a throwaway by the author to finish the series which is sad. Really looked forward to this series, but this book could have been so much more.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a very interesting book. There are many characters, all interconnected in some way. And there is a murky line between the good and evil. Humans that had to abandon an uninhabitable Earth, have now entrenched themselves on the planet Alaxia where part of the leadership plans to eradicate the planet of its native inhabitants while they also experiment on them first. The leadership is oppressive to its own people, keeping them from enjoying the beautiful planet surface and even worse, forbidding the reading of books. One of the leadership humans realizes the error of these ideas and sets out to right many wrongs. There are slave/master relationships in this story, as well as a concieved punishment of a Medical director to get her out of the way. But even she knows she should not have total control as she craves accountability. But as another reviewer said, that end of this book does indeed seem to be really hopeful. Some of the truly evil humans are overcome either through death or removal, and a former slave, brutalized beyond imagination finds kindness and love with a new master. And it seems as the the natives and the humans will be able to live peacefully together. Very hopeful indeed.

This is the last of the Unbreakable books, but I don't think it's the darkest. In fact, I think it's downright hopeful, which is almost odd to say, considering some of the stuff that happens in this book. Instead of focusing on one couple, like the other books, we're focusing on two, and it works really well. It doesn't get confusing, even though there are 4 POVs going on, because everyone and both couples both have their own really distinct voices, so you always know who is who.
Kirie has spent 10 years living in hell, but when the chief Devil off and dies, she's saved by Lafayette, who is one of the controllers of the Stack. He sees her, in intrigued, and know that he has to keep her.
Then, we have the evil Dr. Harrow who runs Grande Pharma, well, at least she did. She gets to meet her own fate in the shape of Rahul.
I loved this whole series, and I love the way that Aria Adams wrapped it up. There were a lot of secrets that came out, and a lot of surprises. I thought that Kirie was a brilliant character. She suffered through so much, but came out the other side, which is just amazing.
Even though this is the end of the Unbreakable books, I really hope that we get to see more stories in this world.
A great series coming to a close, but what a finale….. Kirie had known nothing but pain and the brutalization of the Grande Pharma he was not a man he was a psychopath a brutal man without a kind thought or bone in his body and just when she had wanted nothing more than to die, feeling her last vestiges of hope fade she found herself rescued Controller Lafayette saved her and she had expected more of the same, more pain and unimaginable punishment, but he is different but will I be able to mould myself into his mould, so that I might serve my new master well and fulfil his demands. The Stack is in turmoil the Alaxians are fighting back and when he is in the middle of dealing with all of these in the middle of this madness, he finds himself being constantly drawn to in both thought and deed to the broken however, very beautiful woman he had rescued in the cage. He would make her his in every way possible, he would teach her all she needed to know, she would fulfil he every need and heated desire and he would own he so completely not another so I voluntarily received and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
I liked this third and final book of the Unbreakable trilogy, but I liked the second one better. To me, the storyline of the second moved faster and was much more intense. This one does wrap up the conflict between the Alaxians and the humans/Grande Pharma which was good to see. I enjoyed how everything concluded for all involved. It is on the darker side, but, in my opinion, it's not anywhere near the level of darkness that book two had. I still haven't had a chance to read book one so I can't compare it there.
One interesting thing about this storyline is that it really involved two different couples. The main couple was Kirie and Controller Lafayette. I really liked these two. Kirie's story (and resulting fear) was heartbreaking. I loved how Lafayette was with her. They were perfect. The second couple was Controller Harrow and Alaxian Rahul. Their pairing was a surprise to both, but especially Harrow. The two of them together were and intriguing pair. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
Wow, this is the last book in the Unbreakable Series. I didn't get a chance to read the first two books but will be getting them in the near future. Kirie had been given to the demolition squad who then gave her to Grande Pharma and they ran all kinds of experiments and test on her. After a while she was given to Controller Lark who was a sadistic Master. She was found by Controller Arundel Lafayette in a cage that Controller Lark liked to keep her in. He saves her and takes her to his house. Then there is the part of the book that Harrow and Rahul are put together. It was awful of the experiments that the Director Dr. Harrow did on Humans and mostly Alaxian Aliens of the planet. She get put in a cell with Rahul and after she tried to kill him he started to train Dr. Harrow in the ways of being his slave/submissive. I was glad that Dr. Harrow got what she deserved as did and Controller Lark and the other evil people. Good story.

This has two stories in the final book: one deals with Controller Harrow who's thrown in a cell with a Alaxian Rahul by Controller Lafayette and the other is about Lafayette and Kirie a slave he claimed once owned by Controller Lark. In the last book The Stack is attacked by the Alaxians which Controller Lark is killed so Lafayette claims Kirie who he can tell has been abused. Meanwhile he sends Harrow to be a test subject in her program because of her failure and the cause of the bombing. Harrow gets thrown in a cell with Rahul who's a doctor and he teaches her he's her master. Lafayette teaches Kirie that not all masters are cruel. Lafayette allows Rahul to escape to sent up a possible treaty with Prince Algers. These two couples merge to complete the story. Can there be peace and can our couples find happiness? I enjoyed that Harrow gets her comeuppance and we find out Lafayette has a heart. This is another great story and the final in this series that I enjoyed reading and reviewing.
Ok first off, Owwww!!! Kirie is being tormented by Controller Lark. He is evil as much as that villainess woman, Director Harrow. Lafayette is a controller but higher up on the chain. Harrow reported to him and he had a pretty good idea about what she was doing. It had to be stop. But when he found Kirie in Controller Lark’s office, he wasn’t about to leave her there. Lark was gone. And Kirie looked lost and needed guidance.
We also have a second story going on. Harrow and Rahul. Both are scientists, one human, one alaxian. But Rahul wanted to learn about the humans. Unlike Harrow who wanted to experiment on the Alaxian. These two were thrown together, literally. But something it going on with everyone. Harrow is being mastered by Rahul, which I agree she needs. There is something special with Kirie. And let me tell you, when you find out, your jaw will drop. I had a feeling and I was right. It was still a shock.
This is the third and last book in this series. I'm really sad that there won't be more, but Aria does tie up a lot of the questions I had from the first two books. You could read this book only, but I do recommend you read the first two. Otherwise you will have quite a few questions.
There is a new couple in this book. Lafayette is one of three Controllers and Kirie is a slave that he rescued from Controller Lark. Because she has been conditioned for so long, Harrow decides to keep her as a slave, but to train her to start making choices.
There is more with the Alaxians and there is a resolution to free the humans and stop the war.
I enjoyed this story. But, please remember that this is a dark book. There is a lot that can be hard to read. Do not buy if you don't think you can handle it.
I'm torn! This says the end and well I'm hoping it isn't! I gave this four stars because I truly love the characters in this series and the world building and the evil diabolical scientists and the overbearing dominant aliens 👽 and well you get the idea.
For me, this read more like a multi-plot wrap-up and summary instead of a complete story. We pick up where we left off in book two but then things seem to just steamroll to a close. Two couples get outline stories, not truly as intimate as if they received their own books - which is one of the reasons I hold out hope we have another book coming - The humans move forward taking the next step (don't want to give spoilers) oh and we find out a couple of dark secrets that really need more storyline. Please don't leave us hanging here - Can you tell I'm truly hoping this series will go forward
First and foremost you need to heed the warnings, this is not a steamy read, it is a great series but the sex is brutal. If this makes you uncomfortable then this might not be for you, or it just might be worth testing ..
You have to start at the beginning of the series to get the most from this book. The first book I was torn because of the brutality, but the story and story telling was so compelling I had to read the second and now this third completes the series providing explanations, tying up other story threads, concluding a great series with characters you have come to care for. This is the end of a series, but I so hope there is room for follow up...

This is the third and last book in this dark and intense series. I really enjoyed this book and series but I will say that it will not appeal to every reader. Please read the description and be aware that this book does contain scenes and content that could be triggers for some before you decide to read. My hear truly broke for Kirie. The things that she had gone through were brutal, heartbreaking and truly unimaginable. If anyone deserved a happy ending it was her. Lafayette was all dominance but with care, control and heart, and that, I felt was just what Kirie needed. The overall story held my interest well with a engaging blend of drama, intrigue action, danger, emotions and steamy scenes. I am by my own choice posting truthful review.
This was like reading two stories in one. The stories, of course, are intertwined. The Stack! We start with Kirie. Rescued by Lafayette. He can't release her, as he feels she'd never make it on her own. His possessiveness and caring start Kirie on a road to recovery. In the meanwhile, Harrow is being punished, and entrapped with one of her test subjects, Rahul. Punished she is. Or, is she? There are some definitely graphic descriptions of scenes between Rahul and Harrow that had me going hmmmm, really. Gross and ow! The writing kept me glued to the pages. What an intense ending to this sci-fi, dark trio!
Punished is an interesting futuristic book. Humans have left behind Earth and tried to begin a new life on a new planet by suppressing and killing off the current alien population. Kirie has been mistreated as a slave for half her life and is rescued by Lafayette. I love how Lafayette takes his time with Kirie and teaches her to live again and not fear everything. He is gentle in his retraining of her. I also love how Harrow, the doctor that tortures and experiments on Kirie gets her just punishment at the hands of an Alexian. This was a very interesting book with a very dark twist. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
I want to start first with saying that the book says it can be read as a standalone but is highly recommended to start with book 1 first and I agree with that statement. I had not read book 1 and 2 and found it took some figuring out about the characters before I wasn't confused but then the story started making sense. This book definitely doesn't hold anything back. It jumps straight into the story and is dark, disturbing, and hot as ever! I enjoyed reading it and for the most part liked the characters. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A very good dark and twisted conclusion to this series. The author changed things up in this story with the main characters both being human. Kirie has endured incredible cruelty and torture, she is broken and needs what Lafayette can give her. Lafayette is the perfect dominant for Kirie. He understands her and gives her the structure she not only craves but needs in order to heal. There is plenty of intrigue, suspense, action and danger with graphic imagery and details in this very well written story resolving the human / alaxian conflict while bringing you not one but two new couples.
This is the third book in this series and continues to be dark, but there is also some hope. The plot is one that I found very interesting and the characters are well described and not completely stereotyped. Each story has been unique, and I would recommend and encourage you to read the prior two books in this series, just because they are brilliant if nothing else! It’s dark and twisted and a delightful read!

Hope and a place for everyone! I’m happy I have read this Series, all 3 books and I’m so sad the journey is over. But it was a wonderful great story with so much meaning and messages in between and don’t forget the very interesting characters, especially in this book. The four main characters was a little irritating in the beginning but than each of them fits perfectly and make it round whole and smooth.
I love reading this series. My heart went out to Kirie, a slave, who had been abused. Lafayette was tirelessly working to undo the damage, that had been forced upon her. It was nice to read of Harrow, being put in place by Master Rahul, an Alaxian. You can read this as a stand-alone, but I don’t believe you’ll appreciate it as much, if you don’t read the first two. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
I was excited to read this book. I got it started reading and was shocked; I was expecting one thing, and got blindsided with something so unexpected. I was thrown for an amazing loop. It was good, but if you read the previous two books you know what I mean. The author threw us for loop, but it worked even if it was a little rushed at the end. I'm a little sad that it was rushed and that the series is over.
Punished is a dark science fiction novel. Her parents turned her over to Grande Pharma. She is abused and tortured until they give her to Controller Lark. He does more of the same and she can't imagine anyone worse than what she had gone through with Grand Pharma. Controller Lark is a very sick individual and abuses her by no food or drink. She is finally saved by Controller Lafayette. This all in a war between humans and Alaxians.
Whoa. I dont know why I am always surprised by the intensity of Aria's books when I read them. But I still am. Even though its a dark intensity, that darkness never lessens the passion, the respect, the strength of all the characters she creates. I could not put this down for a single moment. I truly hope there will be more to this series. I would highly recommend this book. Happy reading! Rating 5 stars
