Sixteen-year-old Molly detests being stuck at home with her overly critical mother. Nothing pleases that woman! As usual, her father is working long hours, and her older brothers are away on a camping trip. As Molly attempts to pass the lonely hours…and stay out of her mother’s way, her attention is captured by a haunting melody coming from the massive forest that surrounds the family’s vacation house. Unable to help herself, she follows the music and becomes hopelessly lost. What she finds in the forest is beyond her wildest imagination. She never anticipated the journey that would begin when she stepped…Into The Deep Woods.
Born and raised on a small farm in southeast Texas, my life was ordinary. The internet, video games and all subsequent modern technology had not been invented yet, so books were my gateway to the world. Reading transported me to places far away and easily became my addiction. To secure some quiet time, I hid on the barn roof under the shade of an over-reaching tree limb and read for hours, ignoring my mother's voice as she called me to my chores. Now in my autumn years, I still spend most days with my nose stuck in a book and have a hard time driving by bookstores, yard sales and flea markets...anywhere you can find stories and characters in the pages of books. They call out to me and I must go to them, seeking that next fascinating read...just like the addict that I am.
I was captured from Chapter 1 and didn’t want to put it down until I finished the book. Author is very gifted in her story telling of the adventures Molly goes through. I’m anxiously awaiting Book 2. If you love to read, you will enjoy this book.
Nila so eloquently wrote a story with such depth in less than 200 pages which I rarely see. I fell in instantly in love with Molly and Granny and was able to compare them to close loved ones of mine which help make this story come even more alive as I read it. This is a must read and one that can be done in a day or two. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
Loved every minute of this story. Did not want it to end. A perfect read for all ages. It pulled me into the story and made me feel as if I was actually experiencing all the wonderful things that was happening. Book 2 is a must! A local author for me. Our Book Club is planning a meeting with her. Can't wait!!
