Surprisingly, I'd never heard of CA (Carolanne) Miljavac until now. I ended up loving this short book of 180, 3-minute devotions. I need books like this because it's an easy and quick way to get Bible scripture, positivity, and inspiration into every day. My days can be crazy; by the time night rolls around, I'm ready to crash out and often skip time with my Bible.

It was almost as if most of these devotions were written specifically for me. One that really hit home regarding moving forward:

I don't know much about you, who you are, what your story is. But I know you have something you'd like to change. An area you'd like to improve in your life. So tell me, what are you doing about it? Because if your goal is to change, you must make changes. You cannot do the things you've always done and make any progress. Think on what Paul advised for the Christian life: Forget what's behind and strain toward what's ahead. Today, wherever you want to see change, move forward. Let bygones be bygones and press on!

These are short devotions, but they really pack a punch. A verse and prayer are shared with each devotion. Odd(ly) Enough is one I'll continue to use throughout the year. Highly recommend!

Short, sweet and to the point. Great for the mom on the go that needs an unlifting scripture to make it through the day. Sometimes we need a reminder that it is ok to need a little me time and 3 minutes to focus on yourself is doable in our fastpaced lives.

This book is written in true Carolanne Miljavac fashion - just as if she is in the room having an encouraging conversation with you. While this book is not an “in depth” study, it definitely has foundational information that you can dig deeper into if you desire. The title is true: 3 minute devotions. They are the perfect length to fit into morning or evening or even just during the day when you need an encouraging, uplifting word.

I received this book via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I really liked the way this book was set up. Each section leads with some bible verses, then an anecdote reflecting on those verses, followed by a simple prayer to help you incorporate those thoughts into your soul. I read it all at once, but I think it would be great for daily scripture study or prayer.

I'm not big into devotionals anymore, but I had to check this one out. It's perfect for that new Christian or a busy mom who can't find more than 3 minutes to spend time with God. Ture to CA Miljavac style, it feels like you are sitting in her living room with her, having a cup of coffee, and discussing life and The Word. CA Miljavac gives you a Bible verse to spend a minute meditating on, a minute to read the devotional and think about its application to your life, then a minute to pray to God. Mrs. Miljavac knows what it means to struggle in life, and her devotion truly touches your soul and builds your calling with God in a passionate way.

I received this devotional as part of a Giveaway; I was taken aback when the Postman said there was $2.50 postage due C.O.D. for the package! That was pretty ODD, oddly enough, and has never happened to me before. I guess the publisher didn't weigh the material before popping this in the outbox. This is a light and easy read. Nothing jumps out at me, but it was pleasant. Probably would make a nice stocking stuffer for the holidays. Thank you Goodreads.

This makes a nice quick devotional as a way to start the day with God or close the day. I like that the scripture and devotional are accompanied by a short prayer of relevance to our daily lives.
I received a digital ARC of this book from netgalley and Barbour Books in exchange for my honest review. I was not required to write a positive review and all opinions expressed are my own.

I've read this book twice now and I gain insight each time I read it. Carolanne writes in a way that makes me feel like I'm curled up on the couch with my best girlfriend talking and having a cup of coffee. This devotional reminds me that no matter what, I am the daughter of the King. That all of my life experiences, good and bad, are all part of the plan to bring me closer to Jesus... oddly enough!

I've gotten and read devotionals before but often swept it to the back, failing to keep it in my day to day life. Unlike this author's 30 day devotional accompanying her book, I wish it were 365 days!
