Trilogy of death

Very weird stories. A hapless heroine that continually messes up. The first story had you guessing about who was after her but as the second and third progressed you couldn't believe how dumb she was.

I WAS RIGHT, THE CLUE TO WHO THE KILLER WAS, IT WAS IN BK#1 (yea me!). I HAD TROUBLE LIKING ANY OF THE CHARACTERS IN ALL 3 BOOKS. THE GOOD GUYS WERE COPS SO STUPID I JUST COULDN'T BELIEVE HOW DUMB ALL OF THEM WERE (still shaking my head). THERE WAS OVER-THE-TOP TRAGEDY IN ALL THE BOOKS IT NEVER LET UP, PAGE AFTER PAGE OF IT (Arrrrrrrg!). "HOW ARE YOU HOLDING UP" SAID WAAAAY TOO MANY TIMES, ESPECIALLY SINCE I WASN'T ABLE TO.
