I still say Lilah fucking Love FBI extraordinaire. The final story to Lilah's series. The story begins where the last one left off in the alleyway next to Lilah & Kane's apartment with Kane's idea of the perfect bodyguard lying on the ground bleeding cause he took a bullet for Lilah.

Now the race is on to find Umbrella Man he's challenging Lilah. It too many suspects in this case multiple victims and/villians and plenty of dirty cops could he/she be apart of The Society? Then there is Roger my mentor who keeps showing up at every crime scene trying to dominate my authority, he's very territorial and wants all the credit. Not to mention too many coincidence to Lilah past, that night Kane buried a body for her. Are these 2 separate cases or one in the same?

Great story I hope that is not the end to Lilah Love & Kane Mendez story. Hope to see her again Lilah fucking Love gets her serial killers is it cause she recognize the same in her. “One falls—” “And another rises, but we’ll win, Lilah. Because we have you and your badge to keep us in the middle, where we belong.”

This couple just gets better and better. Kane is that delicious mix of dark and light. He's a man who won't hesitate to do what he feel needs to be done, legal or not. He's also that man who can love Lilah with an intensity that has him protecting her above all others and treats her like a man should. It's a heady mix in a man that makes him very appealing to many.

Lilah is a heroine that I find so rarely. I love how she just doesn't care what others think of her. She doesn't care if she makes enemies of very powerful men who stand in her way. She will bulldoze over anyone that will keep her from doing her job. A lot of times, that labels a woman as a wicked witch of the west but I think it makes her admirable. She fascinates me just as much as Kane does.

The books in the series has been so intriguing to me. I feel like I'm right there with Lilah trying to solve these crimes. The writing is fantastic and I hope that the author keeps bringing us more in this series.

I fell more in love with Kane as he is intent on protecting Lilah even if she is determined she will protect him. Their chemistry is all kinds of delicious as it extends into a driving need to be there for each other. Despite the narration, this is a fast and furious conclusion to Love Me Dead, Lilah Love book 3 and the mystery of the Umbrella Man. While I had guessed some of the “mystery”, there were still a few surprises as this story has twists and turns that will have you wildly guessing what will happen next.

Can’t wait for more!

I hate that this book is the end of this series, or at least right now there are no more. I love Lilah Love so much! This book started right where book 3 left off and it was a HUGE cliffhanger. I was really happy to see that the author included all of the main characters in the story with a brief description of each as well as a summary up to the point of when this book starts. That was really helpful!

The Umbrella Man continued to taunt Lilah and she was all over the place regarding who she suspected. Some people she suspected but didn't want to and others she never suspected because she trusted them, etc. So it was really interesting to follow her thinking and to finally find out exactly who the Umbrella Man was.

Lilah describes herself as a "killer" and claims that she enjoys killing. The Umbrella Man thinks she's just like him/her because of how much she enjoys killing, but there is a difference according to her. It was just fun to watch it all play out.

I will definitely be reading more of this author.

3.5 stars because it got kinda convoluted and when Lilah suspects every single person around, it's hard to get a satisfying resolution when she does find the killer. Because it never really feels solved.
Off to the next one I go.

This is a continuation of the story started in the previous book and Umbrella man is still on the loose. Lilah has a brush with death and it seems the killer wants her blood on their hands next. I love Lilah's "I don't give a F attitude." It is this that keeps her alive and allows her to solve the cases that she does. Kane always has her back, and never has she needed it so much as she does now. Umbrella man is proving a worthy adversary, but Lilah is on a whole different level. Can't wait to read the next one.

This series is getting better and better with each new book. And it’s definitely one of my favourite series ever.
Shades of the past are growing bigger and darker than before, the conclusion is starting to take shape and so it’s Lilah and Kane’s love story.
Nothing is as it seems and there are still so many hidden secrets and twists to discover.
Something reminds me of The Mentalist tv series and I might just binge watch it.

It will take knowing her own demons to end this killer…

This is the fourth book in the Lilah Love series and it contains the conclusion to the case that began being investigated in the last book.

This story opens with a bang, literally, the night a muddled mess, FBI Agent Lilah Love in a dark alleyway with raining pounding from above, nature mirroring the calamity a psychotic man created. There are too many suspects in this case, multiple victims or perhaps villains in front of her, a bodyguard who doesn’t get it and to top it all off a surprise visit from an enemy who has been an ally and yet the serial killer she expected is not to be found after having laid clever booby traps. She should have known this was a test of her worthiness. It would’ve been too easy and too soon in the gameplay if this night had been the showdown between her and the Umbrella Man.

Diversions abound, sorting out the breadcrumbs between primary/secondary victims time-consuming, the possibility of the killer having support staff too evident to ignore. With each crime scene, the case becomes more convoluted, the complicated game being played by an intelligent madman escalating. Lilah’s aggravation steadily increases from the multiple inputs thrown at her by the serial killer, law enforcement, personnel incompetence, and the arrogance of the mentor she has to wade through. Everyone has their own agenda be they friend or foe.

There will be more deaths to come, some close to home before this is over. Umbrella Man is doing an excellent job of making Lilah extremely angry and that is to his detriment, experience has made her a killer with a badge, one who walks her own path with a dangerous man at her side, the son of a drug lord who at times leads two lives and the only one who understands and accepts who she is.

All roads lead to Lilah Love, she’s the catalyst, the clues when found, obvious in their connection. Who wants to remove her playing piece from the board? Who benefits if she were gone? The answer to that question illustrates just how deep the tendrils of the conspiracy that won’t quit go, they underestimated her once and she’s more than ready for them now. Umbrella Man beware, Lilah won’t blink, she won’t feel remorse when she takes out the evil darkness that he is.

What is so interesting about the Lilah character is that for her vulnerability is a strength, she faces down weakness and grows from what she learns and accepts about herself including the contradictions. She’s as real as a person can be and even those that walk in darkness can have a moral code. And with Kane by her side, she’ll handle what’s inevitably coming for them.

An advanced reading copy was obtained from the author.

4.5 stars-- LOVE KILLS is the fourth instalment in Lisa Renee Jones’ contemporary, adult LILAH LOVE romantic, suspense series, and the conclusion to the second duet that started in LOVE ME DEAD focusing on FBI agent Lilah Love.

NOTE: LOVE KILLS should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately after the events and cliffhanger of book three LOVE ME DEAD.

Told from first person perspective (Lilah Love) LOVE KILLS follows FBI Agent Lilah Love as she is pulled into the game of a serial killer who is targeting people she knows, she works with, and she loves but Lilah suspects the killer maybe someone she knows, and in this, the members of the group known as the Society, are high on her list of suspects, many of whom have connections to her father, and his run for President. As the number of victims of the ‘umbrella man’ mount, Lilah realizes that everyone is suspect, and the people she thought she could trust, may be the very people hoping to take her down.

LOVE KILLS is a story of obsession, betrayal, murder and revenge; a suspense-filled story of one woman’s impassioned and almost manic need to take down a killer, all by herself. Lisa Renee Jones pulls the reader into another dark, gritty, detailed and graphic story with a foul-mouthed, unfiltered heroine who has the ability to terrify the strongest of men, except the man for whom she is willing to die.

Yes yes yes! Omg Lilah if you were real and we were both gay I would marry you. I honestly love Lilah Love. She is my favorite leading lady without a doubt.

I won't go into the story of Love Kills but will say its a serious ride and even though I had stuff worked out, that didn't spoil it for me at all. As always there was action, mystery, suspense and of course a little romance. After all Kane is involved too.

Read in 1 sitting I didn't put this down at all, even making food and drink, this came with me! A solid 4 star read and a series I highly rate. I will say if you haven't read the other Lilah Love books, do not just pick this one up. It's really best to read them in order.

Ahhh...I finally got the audio to this one and in one sitting or roaming around finished this one and WOW was there a lot of blood and a lot of twists. I enjoyed this one so much and really, really hope this author continues this series and it looks like she will. Lilah is one strong and independent woman who takes no prisoners but this FBI wonder woman will catch the bad guys no matter what! Definitely recommend this one but start with the first book and work your way through the series, you will not be disappointed.

Book 4 in the series and the conclusion to the Umbrella Man Duet. We have Lilah Love continuing her Wild search for the mysterious unaliver who's nicknamed the Umbrella Man.

This book continues right where we left off.
Lilah's bodyguard, Jay assigned by Kane just shot at and I was so freaked out to find out what was going to happen to Jay as I had really liked him.

There are many suspects and what complicates things more is when Lilah starts suspecting that the culprit might be much closer to her than she knows.
With suspicions of him targeting the people close to Lilah, including Kane and her family and now even her mentor, Roger being in danger.

Lilah does what she does best and through the tangled clues, starts piecing things together yet she feels she's missing what's right in front of her.

I thoroughly enjoyed this installment that gives you the thrill, the mystery of the chase of finding the wrongdoer but I loved our 𝖻𝖺𝖽𝖺𝗌𝗌 girl, FBI agent who doesn't bow down but is a freaking daring girl, Lilah Love more.

Ahhh.... Lilah and Kane's romance though has my heart and I have to say they have taken me by surprise because I didn't expect two contrasting people with this kinda perfect connection to not only understand the other so deeply but also are there like a backbone of steel for the other. Let me just say, this book will make your hearts melt but definitely not in the typical way because Lilah is not your soft hearted kinda girl and what's special is Kane is a strong man enough to understand her like no one does.

Can't wait to dive into the next one. Loved this one. ♥️

Ok so LRJ is my go-to suspense author and this is no different. I would definitely recommend reading the Lilah Love series in order. It has been a year since we first met Lilah and I was happy to see more from this strong female character. This story continues the same pattern where there isn’t much romance and although there are strong Alpha males the star of the show is Lilah Love, a take no prisoners FBI profiler! We have a new killer to contend with in this duet. The Umbrella man enjoys playing with a loved one of the victim making them believe that what they do has to be done to save their lives. In the end he kills them both and leads clues that only Lilah can understand. So, we are still trying to piece together Lilah’s past and how the new murders seem to be connected to her. As the case progresses she thinks it may be someone in the NYPD, but who? I thought we would get the end of the story with this book, but no, there is more. We have basically solved the murders, but the family drama is still there and she is also trying to find a balance with her FBI role and her connection to Kane.

I love the depth and detail in these stories. Even though we got plenty of answers we are left with many more questions at the end of book 4. I can hardly put in to words how amazing this story is without spoiling all the fabulous twists!

The second part of the "Umbrella Man" duet, which is also the fourth book of the "Lilah Love" series, is called "Love Kills" and picks up exactly where the previous part left off. Lilah Love continues to hunt down the serial killer she calls the Umbrella Man, who continues to take his victims. The novel's atmosphere is only heightened by the seemingly never-ending storm that creates an almost palpable tension throughout the story.

The Umbrella Man keeps toying with Lilah, trying to throw her off, while she does her best to focus on the issue at hand and reveal who is behind the ruthless acts. It is becoming increasingly clear that the killer not only knows Lilah, but is close to the FBI's top profiler and even has close ties to the NYPD. Lilah continues to find it hard to trust anyone as she listens to her instincts and tries to spot who might be guilty.

Kane and Lilah's relationship becomes more solid as they try to protect each other, even at the cost of their own lives. This, however, leads to more conflict between the two, which adds to the sexual tension between them, masterfully portrayed by Lisa Renee Jones. The author continues to expertly balance the intense emotional connections between the characters with a dark, twisty plot.

Although the "Umbrella Man" duet comes to a close with this book, there are still unsolved mysteries and questions that remain to be answered, which continues to fuel readers' curiosity. "Love Kills" is not only a worthy follow-up, but also an exciting conclusion to this special duet, and will ensure that fans of the series will be eagerly awaiting the next installment.

Love Kills by Lisa Renee Jones absolutely wrecked me, in the best possible way. Man… that ending. I’m still thinking about it.
This book is, hands down, the best in the series so far. The pacing is razor sharp, the tension never lets up, and every chapter feels like it’s daring you to put the book down (spoiler: you can’t). She masterfully plays with your suspicions, and I have to admit, I called it. I suspected him as Umbrella Man early on… and then when someone else confessed, I doubted myself completely. Well played. Very well played.

Lilah Love continues to be a force to be reckoned with. She is brilliant, damaged, relentless, and the emotional layers mixed with the psychological twists make this story hit even harder. The romance, the danger, the mind games… it all blends perfectly into a dark, addictive ride that keeps you questioning everything and everyone.

And now we need to talk about the lingering question that’s living rent-free in my head: Are Umbrella Man and Junior the same person? Honestly? It seems more than plausible. The breadcrumbs are there, the connections feel intentional, and I wouldn’t put anything past this series. But of course, nothing is ever that simple with Lisa Renee Jones. Only time will tell and I need that next book immediately.

If you’re invested in this series, Love Kills is unmissable. Twisty, emotional, shocking, and impossible to predict. This is Lisa Renee Jones at the top of her game.

4.5⭐

Love Kills the fourth book in Lisa Renee Jones Lilah Love series and the finale to the story started in Love Me Dead was an intriguing, interesting, and suspenseful story. That was filled with twists and turns and at times it truly had me scratching my head. As the hunt for Umbrella Man kicked up a gear, and Lilah's determination for answers meant the dead bodies started to pile up, and the number of people she could truly trust shrank.

Yet, I must say I did find it a little difficult to get into, only because I couldn't really remember all the details from Love Me Dead and even though there is a brief catch up at the start you are thrown right back into the middle of the action and plot, and it's a complex plot to say the least.

But once I got my head around everything I was hooked and I couldn't help but love the bluntness and vulnerability of Lilah and the way she operates is very distinctive and enjoyable to read. As is her complicated relationship with Kane. I also couldn't figure out who Umbrella Man was, and I enjoyed all the twists and shocks that lead up to the reveal. And the concluding couple of chapters really did have me on the edge of my seat. So I'm truly hoping there is more to come from Lilah Love in the future. And I would happily recommend Love Kills and the Lilah Love series as a whole to others.

Love Kills is the fourth novel in Lisa Renee Jones’s Lilah Love series, and it presents another action-packed mystery centered around identifying a serial killer. The story picks up right where the third book left off, and I was just as eager as Lilah Love to uncover the identity of the Umbrella Man, especially since he or she is targeting Lilah. The killer doesn’t realize that Lilah is similar to them, shaped by her past, and she will do anything to bring them to justice.

I was excited to reconnect with Lilah and Kane, as they have incredible chemistry. I understand why Lilah is reluctant to commit to Kane fully, considering his family’s history and her role as an FBI profiler. However, Kane is determined not to let her slip away this time. He is more committed than ever to marrying her, even as they both face the threat of a serial killer targeting them and possibly someone else.

I don’t want to reveal too much about the story but be prepared for a shocking twist regarding who is actually behind the killings. I was stunned to discover that it was someone Lilah knew very well. Lilah has become a favorite heroine because she refuses to let anyone get to her, not even the Society that harmed her years ago, and continues to try to make her life difficult, especially when they want her father to run for President in the near future. Lilah is resolute in her fight against the Society, aware of the risks involved. However, with Kane by her side, she knows he will go to any lengths to protect her, even if it sometimes means saving her from herself.

Overall, this was another great installment from Lisa Renee Jones, and I give it four stars. I’m grateful that Lisa decided to continue this series, and I look forward to catching up since I’m quite far behind. I really hope that Lilah gets her revenge against the Society in the upcoming books and eventually finds her happily ever after with Kane. She truly deserves it.

I loved this series so much I couldn't wait on the last book. I had to pre order it online. This was my first time ordering a book online. I loved the characters and was highly invested in the storyline. I loved the fact that the author showed what I consider a true mirror of how people feel about themselves, especially what we consider are our greatest faults and fears. Also showing that there is someone out there for you who sees it all, accepts it all and even embraces all the parts that make you..you!!!😈
Now enough of the mush. I loved the pace of the books keeping me engaged throughout each book. Usually there's often lags where you're like 😵. I was trying to make sure I wasn't missing any lil bit of info. I Oh so appreciated the many strong and unapologetic characters. Nice style with the last two chapters. I wasn't sure about the killer until Morris " outed" himself. Seriously bragging much.... NOT. But still had to have it confirmed. And Hell no Lilah was never going to kill Kane 😝. Lilah And Kane a TEAM to the end. 😍 And Andrew in true brother fashion(body disposal)...how are doing this 😑. Hated to see this series end. Lisa Renee Jones I love your IG posts. "I love you so fucking much that, yes, I would kill for you. Yes, I will bury a million bodies for you. And yes, I will bleed for you, but I’m doing it all right here with you.”

4 stars. A very satisfying conclusion to the series. Everything wraps up really well and it was such an intense and fun ride. I’m seriously so upset that it’s over because I loved every single book in this series. They just got better and better with each release.

This picks up right where Love Me Dead ended with Lilah Love hunting down a killer she has dubbed as Umbrella Man and it is a very intense read. I loved that this one had more emphasis on Lilah and Kane’s relationship because it definitely is in the background for the entirety of the series so to see so much of it here was refreshing. They have such a unique dynamic that just works. They balance each other out really well.

The ending to this was fantastic and ends on a great note. I wouldn’t be upset at all if Jones decided to add at least one more book. Or maybe that’s just me being greedy. I’m gonna miss these characters and I cannot recommend this series enough.

Love Kills is the conclusion to Love Me Dead and starts immediately where the previous book left off. Lilah is in a dark alleyway surrounded by bodies about to come face to face with her prey – a psychotic killer nicknamed the Umbrella Man, so-called because he makes it rain blood. Once again Lilah is up to her eyes in murder. The plot moves so fast that at times I almost felt dizzy reading it. I eventually decided to stop overthinking the motives of every character and just enjoy the story leaving the crime solving to Lilah. Characters from the previous books make appearances but are they friend or foe? All the threads are being woven together so everything is connected not only to this current case but also to events of the past as well. I can honestly say the ending is one I never saw coming.

I do have one question that has been at the back of my mind since the first book and one which I’m surprised Lilah hasn’t already found the answer to – what happened to their old housekeeper who had been with their family for years? She might know more about certain events than anyone realises. Maybe my question will be answered in the next book.

Does anyone know for sure if this is the last of the Lilah Love series? Because I could read twenty more books about Lilah Love being a bad*** and not get tired of it at all. Lisa Renee Jones has had an amazing ride with some of the books she's been putting out and it was no different with Love Kills. I love me some unapologetic female characters who are flawed and messed up.

With Love Kills, we see Lilah wrapping up the case of the Umbrella Man with some cameos along the way. Kane and Lilah are stronger than ever. They're both what the other needs despite her being law enforcement and Kane's family being involved in some shady business. I love that there was very little drama with them. They're both supportive of one another and would kill for the other. And I meant that very literally.

I must say that Lisa Renee Jones has emerged as one of my favorite authors. There are very few books of hers that have disappointed me. I hope she continues to add on to the Lilah Love series because I just can't get enough.

Lilah Love is back to finish solving the Umbrella Man case. As with all Lisa Renee Jones ongoing series, this picks up exactly where 'Love Me Dead' finishes off.

Lilah is complex character and the inner battle she has is apparent in this instalment. Not only is she trying to solve a series of murders as an FBI profiler, but also bring about the demise of the Society who are linked with her father and responsible for some devastating events in her past, whilst continuing to build a relationship with Kane, who has some questionable links.

There are certainly lots of twists and turns to bring this part of Lilah's story to its conclusion. The tension and nail biting elements certainly kept me hooked, alongside the red herrings had my heart racing at times. I love Lilah Love - she is a strong, independent, successful woman who knows what she wants, is confident in going after it and is not afraid to speak her mind. The contrast between her public and private life is what makes this series to more than just another suspense read.

This is the 4th book in the Lilah Love series and it just gets better and better. As Lilah and her team hunt a killer, the killer is hunting her and Kane. While the killer likes to play games, Lilah hates games and she will not stop until she catches those responsible for the murders of innocent people.
As this story unfolds, we learn more about Lilah, Kane, and those around them. And more about what happened in her past. As they take the clues left by the Umbrella Man and try to figure out who he or she is, they will learn who they can really trust.
This story is filled with mystery, intrigue, and will have your mind reeling wondering who the killer is. Can Lilah and Kane figure out who it is before they are the next targets? Will her past come back to haunt her before she can solve this case?
I am loving this series and can't wait to start book 5 as soon as I finish this review. So if you love mystery, murder story that will leave you wondering who done it, then this series is for you.

Action packed ,mystery ,suspense filled, nail biter till the end!

Love Kills by Lisa Renee Jones is the 4th book in the Lilah Love Series. FBI Profiler Lilah Love has a serial killer that has set his/her site on her and Kane but first he/she has plans for her. He is sending clues by killing people and expecting her to figure out the clues. Can she figure out who the psychopath is before it hits close to home? The closer she gets the realization that it could be someone she knows that works in law enforcement. With less people to trust her relationship with Kane intensifies and he once again is there when she needs his support most. Together they are a force to reckoned with.

“One falls—” “And another rises, but we’ll win, Lilah. Because we have you and your badge to keep us in the middle, where we belong.”

This is an action packed, mystery suspense filled, nail biter till the end. Once I started it I couldn't put it down.
