Dark Poison is the final book in the Devil's Gate trilogy, a sexy reverse harem paranormal romance series featuring a kick-ass heroine plus a brooding vampire, an alpha wolf, and a cunning faerie you won't have to choose between.
Grace White is the paranormal pseudonym of romance writer, L A Cotton.
She resides in the UK with her family, and lives for binge watching series on her Firestick, losing herself in a good book, and reliving her younger days through trashy teenage movies ... not necessarily in that order.

So it's not a secret that Ms. White writes a really good RH series. Dark Poison is a conclusion to Devil's Gate series. there will be lots of sexy times, conclusions and a grand final battle that was intriguing with all its elements. Overall a steamy RH with paranormal creatures that will hold you captive till the exciting end.
This has been my favourite RH Series I've read to date!🎉 I've loved the characters, storyline, drama, heartbreak & the blossoming love!!💘🔥
In this final instalment Celeste will need to become part Fae, as she's already part Wolf, Witch & Vampire. All of the races need to be united within the Vessel (her) to finally end L'âiné & the grip he's held over the Devils Gate, always!!😱 Blood is everything in their circles & she comes to fear what it will take to finally defeat him!!😭
She needs to connect with her last mate, Lucas. The Fae has wanted her since he first saw her, but knows this final step will change her irrevocably & is initially reluctant! The ceremony, when it takes place, is pure lust & steam, with all four of them participating!!🔥🔥🔥 (This is where I wanted 'more'! The details were lacking compared to these types of scenes in book #2 where they were written brilliantly with depth, heart & so much emotion - I found that sorely & disappointingly lacking with the intimate scenes in this book.😔) I still feel like we didn't get to know the 'man' Lucas, in the same way as did with Gage & Laken! 😞 He seemed so mysterious & knowledgeable, full of secrets & a past but we didn't get to know any of it - again, this disappointed me as I genuinely love these characters!😍😔 But it didn't take anything from the story, I'm just greedy!🙈😂
Having had my little moan I truly can't fault the rest of the story. It has light moments & then parts that are so dark, especially for Celeste 😭 The final confrontation & it's results were surprising & so emotive!!😢🙏💥 I adored the epilogue - perfect!!💘🎉
A great series overall. This book brought it to a satisfying & wonderful conclusion. It had justice for 'everyone' involved 😉 which really pleased my heart!!💖
Dark Poison was the epic conclusion to Grace White’s Devil’s Gate trilogy. It picks up where book two left off and cannot be read as a standalone.
The time for Celeste to complete her destiny is coming quicker than anyone wants. Danger is coming for and anyone she cares for, as Dahlia’s vampire army along with a Fae traitor and Le Anciens have Celeste in their sights.
While she has the support of her men and some of the paranormal inhabitants of Devil’s Gate. Celeste will need to be the one to figure how to end this centuries long struggle of blood and sacrifice before she loses everything, including her life.
For fans of this series, the end is finally here, and Grace White sends out he series with a bang! Watching Celeste embrace what she was to become was epic and seeing her combine witch, fae, wolf and vampire seamlessly was pretty incredible to watch.
As Celeste learns more about herself and what is to come, she grows closer to Laken, Gage and Lucas, which also helps to draw their species together for the upcoming battle.
I love how these very different alpha men all come together for Celeste and have to learn not only to share her affections, but also how to give her the space that she needs when all they want to do is protect and claim her. It was really fun watching her learn her own strengths and begin to trust in them as she brought the alphas together.
There are some extremely hot and sexy scenes and the final battle is fierce. A sacrifice will need to be made, and it’s both unexpected and amazing. Readers will appreciate how this all plays out as the author also gifts us with a fabulous epilogue to wrap this trilogy up in a spectacular fashion. 4.5 stars
This explosive series finale built on the strong plot begun in the past two books. There was plenty of hotness but as with the previous two books, it didn't overwhelm the overall plot and did in fact add to it. To say that this finale had the wow factor would be a total understatement. Fantastic ending to a fantastic series. Sarah Puckett consistently delivered a strong clear performance. I will be buying more books narrated by her based on her vocal talents throughout this series.
This is the final book in the Devil's Gate series and one I have been patiently waiting for since reading the first book Blood Lust. The first thing I have to say is that I'm so glad we FINALLY get that piece of Lucas I've been dying for. He's always been so intriguing; doing his thing but in the back ground. He finally let's us see him emotionally. All 3 men were perfect for Celeste and I love how they weren't afraid to express their love for her no matter who was watching. The only thing that I wasn't such a fan of was Celeste and her negative feelings. She's the strongest being in Devil's Gate yet she acts like a bit of a whimp. I know her men didn't help in that respect and that they feared losing her but she needed to fullfill her destiny and they kept trying to hold her back. I liked when she finally stepped up and showed her strength, especially to her men. This was the conclusion that I needed and while I'm sad to see them go I'm glad they got their HEA. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
Celeste has found not one but three loves. She has also become part wolf and part vampire. The only thing left is to become part fae. Every day that passes brings more danger to her and her loved ones. She must close the veil and stop all the danger once and for all. The only problem is that it may end her time with her three loves forever.
I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the entire trilogy. It's beautiful. It's realistic. Well, as realistic as a paranormal book can be, but yeah. I really adored it. I was antsy on how it would be ended. I was worried for nothing. The ending was as beautiful as the entire trilogy was. I read the first two more than once. If that says anything.
I've gushed over the characters in the first two reviews. I will continue gushing over them here. Lucas is still my favorite and will always be. He's just so sweet and sassy. That's my favorite type of man. Celeste is amazing too. It's nice to see a main character who knows what she wants and what she's after. She's not afraid to acknowledge that she's afraid, but carries on with what she needs to do anyway. It's inspiring.
The narrator for this book is the same for the narrator in the first two books. Sarah Puckett. I can gush over this narrator for days and not get over it. She's just so talented. She gives even more life to the book than the authors already do. She is so passionate. She's an inspiration. I hope to be as good as her when I start narrating!
This was a beautiful ending to a beautiful series. I just wish it didn't have to end. I could have read about the characters in this world for years on end and not get tired of it. Especially where Lucas is involved. I wouldn't mind spin-off series for this book. Maybe even a prequel or a prequel trilogy involving Sierra. I would definitely read them all if they existed.
Dark Poison Devil's Gate - 3 Author Grace White 4 Stars ☆☆☆☆
The end has come to the Devil's Gate trilogy and it was suspenseful, action-packed, and titillating. Every page has steam rising from it. The ending had me satisfied and I felt completed. I felt like I had been given all the answers and all was right with the world. The epilogue was perfect for this book. It left me with one burning question, but I don't think the answer will ever be revealed, nor is it needed. Celeste, Gage, Laken, and Lucas are united as one and they will go forth as such, in all things.
I loved this story from the beginning and was eager for each new book to unlock more keys and secrets into Devil's Gate. I found the storyline to be imaginative and believable as far as paranormal go. Each book made sense and left me needing and craving more.
Having the heroine mate and bond with a member of each species, vampire, wolf, and fae, was extremely satisfying. My favorite mate changed throughout the book, but in the end, I loved them all and the different personalities they brought to the story.
I would certainly recommend this series to anyone who wants to read paranormal and step into the dark world of Devil's Gate with Celeste LaFleur and her harem to guide and protect you.
It's time for Celeste to fulfill her destiny as the last LeFleur witch; as the vessel to unite the species, witch, vampire, wolf, and fae. It's time to face Dahlia and L'aine and to secure the fate of Devil's Gate. She's powerful. She has vampire agility, wolf strength, fae cunning, witch's power and her own humanity. Plus, she won't be alone; Gage, Laken, and Lucas will be by her side along with many of their people. Sierra made her sacrifice so that Celeste could live. Now it's time for Celeste to make her own sacrifice to save them all. It always comes back to blood.
This is the final book in the Devil's Gate series and it is a worthy ending to Celeste's story. I love that her men finally seemed to find some balance between loving her, wanting to protect her, and shutting her out. She's the most powerful being in Devil's Gate; she doesn't need coddling! I do enjoy the loving part. These are seriously hot men. I absolutely loved the way the final battle played out! The LeFleur bloodline deserved nothing less. Then that ending ... everything I wanted and yet so frustrating! That was just mean. Are we at least going to get a novella at some point?
Finally Celeste and her men come to the end of their story... and what a wonderful and magical odyssey they have been on... the author has created such a fabulous and diverse group of characters inhabiting a vivid and otherworldly landscape; whether forces for good or evil they all contribute to the overall excitement and suspense.
This was a really original plot, which is quite a challenge with so many PNR stories available, and the unexpected twists and turns all contributed to making this a captivating and intriguing series and this final book tied up all the loose ends and was a worthy finale...I received an advanced copy of this book author
I loved this, it was a wonderful conclusion to the trilogy. I’m going to miss these characters and their extremely sexy interludes at the cabin. The finale to their on going battle was bittersweet, touching and yet perfect in how it played out. I admit I had a difficult time with how the men were constantly protecting her despite knowing she is stronger than they are. But I also understand it’s the protective instinct and worry within them. That being said, Celeste is a freakin badass! Anyway, this was a great trilogy and I’m sad it’s over, I will definitely be rereading it binge style over and over again as I have now added it to my pile of books I can’t let go of.
I can't believe this is the end to this seriously GOOD series. I hope a few shorts will come out about their life after everything. I would love to see some with Laken and their baby.
This book went way too fast and I say that because I was so engrossed by this story that time wasn't even a thing. The battles, the plot, plot twists, sex scenes (HOT), adorable moments and girl power moments were written so well and just completely captivated me throughout this entire book.
If you haven't read this series I would seriously recommend!
This was a cute, simple and fun read. Perfect for when you do not want to get in an intense book or need a book/series for vacation. The only reason I knocked a star off was because of the ending epilogue. I appreciate the author wanting to provide closure to the series, but the ending left things open ended. Maybe this means there will be a spin-off? I do not know, but I would read it. This series was entertaining, and the concept of what a vessel was in this book was very unique. I am glad I took a chance, and will try this author again in the future.
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
OMG!!! What a fantastic finale to this amazing paranormal RH trilogy!! Things have been coming to a head for awhile now so it makes since that it would peak. Celeste has a lot to deal though she does so superbly. Full of twists, surprises, and emotional overload. Perfect for fans of steamy paranormal RH. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
I hate saying goodbye. Whether through death or the last page, goodbyes always make me sad. Saying goodbye to Devil's Gate is no less sad. Dark Poison brings everything to a head. Vampire, wolf, faerie, and witches abound but not all will survive. The war is coming. The Vessel must be ready. And yet, I don't want it to end. Don't worry, Grace White has a way of making you happy in the end. Must be a loophole!😉
So much that I've been waiting for was finally provided in this story. It was definitely the conclusion I've been waiting for. I got more Laken, Gage and finally more Lucas. Much, much more Lucas. And all perfectly performed by Sarah Puckett. This series pulled at my heartstrings and had me so wrapped up in the words. This is an author I will definitely want more of in future. And this is a must read series.
The final chapter, I was swept away by the depth of emotion, the love Charlotte and her mates shared, and the heartbreak and loss she faced. Charlotte faces the final step to unify the races, but dreams and a growing sense of despair make her realise the sacrifice may be to great. An amazing end to the series with some exciting plot twists, Sarah Puckett only added to my enjoyment with her wonderful narration.
There was not one chapter that did not have action. Celeste has decided to embrace her future and end the cycle of blood, death, and sacrifice. It was awesome to watch her discover herself and become The Vessel.
Kudos to Ms. White for writing some hot, hot, hot reverse harem. It got steamy.
Dark Poison is a great ending to the Devil's Gate series. It was suspenseful, exciting, and had my emotions all over the place as I tried to figure out what was going to happen next. I seriously loved this series by Grace White! She is an amazing writer, and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
A good series and a good end, but I have GOT to give special mention to the lameness and horribleness of the 'incantations'. Holy crap, they were all so stupid. Grace White, you are awesome and your characters and plot are riveting, but your rhyming is juvenile. Pay someone to come up with them next time. Unless that's what you did, in which case SUE.
I do so enjoy a story that brings the species together, and this series is the epitome of that. In this book, Celeste's relationships with her men solidify and these ultimate showdown occurs. Lots of sexy times and exciting action.
Celeste is back and determined to succeed in the all by impossible task of ending the endless cycle of blood and death. It is full of magic and magical beings and keeps you interested until the very end.
This book was everything I needed to see happen to these characters. There was a loss I didn’t see coming and yet such happiness and hope I couldn’t put this book down.
This is a fast pace read that will you hooked to this amazing series that will have you feel like you are right their durning the writing of this amazing read . You can feel the strong love throughout this book.
In this final book of the series you have so much happening! Celeste is now part vampire, part wolf and still all witch so what needs to happen next? To become part fae! Don’t miss out on how this happens and all that comes in between as well as an explosive ending to end all books!
This was a great series. Lots of action. Great storyline. Sarah is amazing at bringing all these characters personalities alive. Very enjoyable. #audiobookobsessionreviewer
