The producers of “Will You Marry Me?” need a new lead ASAP, and Bree Vaughn fits the bill. Never mind that she applied to be a contestant and may not truly be ready for love. The moment that Bree sets eyes on Izzy Fontana, she thinks Izzy may be the one. Except...oops! Bree dismisses her as a prospective love match seconds afterward because Izzy is Deaf and communicates through sign language. Bree’s son, Austin, wears cochlear implants, and Bree is afraid he might backslide with a Deaf stepmother. Sayonara, so long, Izzy! Of course, it wouldn’t be PC to kick Izzy off the first night, so Bree keeps her around along with contestants such as a poly couple, a Muslim Republican, a sixty-two-year-old dildo purveyor and a cowgirl with subpar lassoing skills. Bit by bit, enough of the contestants begin to make their mark on Bree, and the emotions, drama and tears become the real thing. Will Bree propose, and to whom? Find out in “Reality Lesbian 3”!
I live in Virginia, where I am a writer and an editor. I also have a master's degree in deaf education. In my free time, I hike and savor frappuccinos.
Reality Lesbian 3 is my 22nd Q. Kelly book and that makes her one of my most read authors. I love her quirky style, I adore her unusual love stories, I fear her unexpected twists and turns and I truly believe she is often overlooked. I wish more readers would take a chance on this very prolific writer (she's got 33 published works out there!).
I did a little happy dance when I saw that there was a third installment in the reality lesbian series. These are so much fun! It takes you behind the scenes of what goes into the making of a reality dating show (Will You Marry Me?) and the often ugly underhanded practices the producers use to add drama to boost ratings. Booze flows freely, emotions are hyped, nerves are frayed, hearts are trampled.
In this third book being deaf is a big plot component and Kelly knows what she is writing about (having a masters degree in deaf education). The show’s lead Bree Vaughn has a deaf son but raised him hearing (he has cochlear implants). When she meets the lovely contestant Izzy Fontana there is an instant attraction until she finds out Izzy is profoundly deaf and uses sign language to communicate. Panic sets in. She does not want a deaf stepmother for her son. She does not want to lose him to the deaf world when she tried so hard to raise him hearing.
This book was highly entertaining (like always) and it reads like candy, you just can’t stop. I can highly recommend! (they read as a stand-alone, but I would start with book 1 of this series because why deprive yourself, right?).

Themes: the ugly business of a reality show in all its glory.
I like a new experience and that's just what this book was. Well written, great characters, and situations I've never dreamt of....a great experience. Try this story, it's well worth the quick read.
