Heidi is trying to have a fun-filled Spirit Week at school, but Melanie is spoiling everything (as usual). When Heidi realizes her superpower is helping other people, everything changes.
I liked this book as it showed a lot of character growth for Heidi. She's really been learning a lot about herself in this series, and is coming into her own. I like seeing glimmers of the person she's going to be in the later middle school series (which is also fun).
Heidi figures out how to be herself and works to ignore her classmate, Melanie. For most of the book, she avoids using magic until the last spirit day before the Run. She discovers her superpower is actually helping others and she does so all day. It's fun to see her mature over the course of the series.
This week was wacky, tacky spirit week. For crazy hair day, Heidi does a purple streak. For superhero day, she uses a spell that makes her a superhero. Her super power is helping people. Everyone said that she had the best costume. She got a real superhero uniform that had an H on the front. All the other kids wished they had her costume.
