This started well with a nicely macabre story of glowy green evil rocks in Altdorf, but got repetitive quickly. I've loved the skaven since I was seven but Thanquol doesn't have the depth to carry a novel, he schemes, bullies, blames his underlings for his failures and schemes some more. This could have sustained nicely over a more tightly plotted comic novel but these meander a bit and I 'noped' out entirely on seeing the length of the next installment.

Greatest of all Grey Seers
Thanquol’s novels give a deep exploration of Skaven society and culture, the colorful nature of these diabolical and duplicitous rat men is endless entertainment. The inclusion of special characters as well as insights into the dreaded Council of Thirteen takes it over the top. Any Warhammer Fantasy fan or fan of the Skaven would enjoy these novels

A rollicking adventure about the many occasional successes and frequent near misses of Thanquol and Boneripper. If you played any of the Total Warhammer games, its awesome to read many of the characters and locations come to life.
