** This series contains explicit language and adult situations. **
Rhiannon Lee lives in the Appalachian hills of West Virginia where she loves to spend time with her family, friends, her two rat babies Jinks and Casiopea & her rambunctious orange tabby named Chicken Nugget.
Addicted to music, obsessed with books and highly dependent on coffee, she spends her free-time cherishing nature, consuming sci-fi and fantasy movies, and making art.
This story is getting better and better, the steam level got kicked up a notch, the characters are evolving and becoming seriously awesome. Well Lucy was already freakin awesome, I love her “headlines” for every situation. She is seriously hilarious and self deprecating, a very enjoyable, entertaining and easy to relate to character for sure. I love the pace of this series as well, it has a smooth even pace that gives time for things to develop naturally. The world building is beyond incredible and imaginative, with new plants and creatures. The plot has gotten some fun and intriguing twists this book and I’m loving it! Our bad guy has made himself known and the ending was completely unexpected! I can not wait to read book three and find out how Lucy gets through it!
Spoiler free, as always! This series, not being my first foray into the whole idea – you know, someone being hell-related, etcetera – still managed to cement itself as one of my favorites of that genre, easily, with the first book. It was hilariously witty, with situations that truly brought interesting thought to mind. This second book is just as utterly fantastic, with the added bonus of already knowing the characters. It picks up right where the last left off, and immediately jumps into actions and mystery, and left my head spinning with the how intense it managed to get at times. I couldn’t put it down, I just HAD to find out what happened next! And at the same time, the author held onto the levity and sarcastic wit that hooked me in the first place, interjecting moments of supreme hilarity that had me rereading sections JUST to laugh again, because it’s so relateable, in a totally supernatural way. There’s more…Build up to the characters in this one – you get to really see the personalities of some of the characters shine and come through further than in the first one, which is awesome, and something I love, and it still manages to twist in ways that I didn’t expect – something that tends to be rare for me, which made me love this book even more. All in all, this series is absolutely on my must-have list, and I cannot WAIT for the next one!
As with Hellfire, I loved the headlines, I think they're the best part about Rhiannon's books, they bring a single twist of humour into her stories that makes them real, even during the moments that should be imaginary, her sense of humour is base touching and hilarious. I love the whole concept of these books, it is original and simply hilarious and you are dragged into a world that should seem unreal but at the same time it's made possible. Hexes, is hilarious from the first paragraph, you are thrown in at the deep end but unlike some sequels where you have to wait for the next book, there's no moment where you flounder, while you try to remember whats what, you remember where you left off because its easy to. We'll done Rhiannon, another brilliant book, I really can't wait for the next one!!!
Lucy's adventure continues in book two of the series. With Cain and Bodhan by her side, she continues to learn how to rule Hell. The cast from book one remains and we get peeks of new people.
The cast of characters is fun. Lucy has an interesting inner monologue and seems to attract the oddest things. Cain and Bodhan both continue to try to woo Lucy and tamp down jealousy, so their interactions are fun. I love Virana. I wish we got to see more of her and learn about how she came to be who she is now. Spin off idea? I can only hope! The plot is consistent. The writing is smooth. The dialogue natural sounding. The editing is very well done. The world building is nice. It's very clear, but not overly wordy. Overall, I would recommend this series. I'm looking forward to the next book!
Okay, first off I love Lucy's character. She is just hilarious with her inner monologues, her sassiness that made me laugh out loud/ snort while reading, her admirable quiet strength to take on a position of power and rule a kingdom that she doesn't even know existed, let alone any idea how to run it.
The story continues where we left off from book 1. We met some interesting new characters that will play a huge role in the story. Her relationship with Cain continues to grow and I'm like a girl with a crush by the way I squealed as we are slowly introduced with the other member of Team Lucy. Overall, I truly enjoyed reading it and impatiently waiting for book 3.
I received an ARC and I'm voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Sorry but I’m not going to give away any spoilers of any kind because I’m not the type that does that. So this is all I’m going to say about this book and that is I thought it was totally amazing. This book basically picks up where book one leaves off, I enjoyed the story-building and the world created here. Rhiannon Lee definitely knows how to hook her readers and take them on an exciting ride. So yes I most definitely recommend this book to anyone who’s interested in crawling into this story and getting lost within its pages. But if you haven’t read the first book then I highly suggest that you do otherwise you’ll get probably get a little confused as to who’s who and what’s what.
What a cliffhanger! Hexes and Wolves is the second book in the Queen Lucy series from Rhiannon Lee. It picks up from where the first book left off rounding up the escaped convicts in Hell. Lucy realises she has a lot to learn about her new position and powers but I like the fact that she is carving her own path. We meet her second mate Bohden but there is a bit of conflict between him and Cain that needs to be resolved in order for them to move forward for the sake of Lucy’s happiness. I’m excited to meet her other mates in future books but I must say I’m getting impatient with how slow the dialogue is.
This has kept the charm and wit from the first book, Hellfire and Kittens, while keeping the story going. This includes the hilarious news headlines and the format breaking down the chapters.
The new introduction of characters adds a new depth to the story. And the world created including the creatures, keeps being added to and you find out something new around each corner. (Good news: Hell has chocolate cake!)
In this part of her story we get to follow Lucy and hear her hilarious inner headlines as she gets used to being the queen of hell, deals with finally meeting the man she has been dreaming about for years and the repercussions from that, and tries to defend her throne against those who would want to overthrow her. The characters are wonderful and we get to meet new ones in this book and the story has enough action and twists to keep you interested until the very end.
In the last book we finished with the white wolf and in this book you learn about the man behind the wolf form and who he is to Lucy!
Lucy continues learning her role as Queen of hell and creating a strong court that fits her way of ruling. She is destined to have a mate from each of the realm, but will all of them will come in an unconventional way.
Pretty good second book in this series! We get to follow Lucy around some more as she gets use to her new role as Queen of hell. Learning the ways of hell and sticking to her own morals has made for an interesting plotline. New characters introduced as well as some new mysteries leaving the reader with questions! The ending does has a cliffhanger that has left me interested in what happens next!
This series just keeps getting better. Lucy and her inner dialogue alone make the book. Starts where book one left off and stays in the action and suspense through out the book. Really loved Lucy's men. It's so good, you won't be able to put the book down. Can't wait for what happens next.
Thoroughly enjoyed book 2 and am looking forward to #3 in the series. Queen Lucy is a fun and interesting character. Rhiannon Lee's description of Hell and the characters and animals that live there was unique and interesting. The story is engaging and moves along quickly. I would definitely recommend reading this book.
Dun dun dun and the plot thickens! This book was pretty consuming and exciting and exasperating lol Lucy is just trying to live her best life and fix things in Hell and of course the villains have other plans. also that ending has me beside myself and whispering wtf wtf wtf haha
I love this series except for the cliffhangers at the ends of the books. Cliffhangers are only useful in soap operas, where they try to tempt the viewer to watch the show after the weekend... A good writer should end the book properly.
That said, I do enjoy this imaginative version of hell, the characters and the creatures that ppl it. Enjoy!
This is a fantastic series. Lee is a new author for me but I'm hooked. Great characters, I love her bodyguard even though she's really not around much. Well written with a great storyline.
I am loving the building of the story in book two, and Bohden! The pace of the book felt perfect, and didnt seem to drag at all. I do wish there was a bit less inner dialogue but that might just be a personal preference. Definitely cant wait for book 3!
I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters and how they came together.I can't wait to see what will happen next with Lucy since she is in a different realm and what about Boehden and Cain?
Amazing!!! I love Lucy she makes me laugh so much. Book 2 was just as amazing as book 1 and is a definite must read. I can’t wait to see how Lucy gets out of her situation and to see who the remaining men are. I think we may know but we may be suprised!!!
I’m not great on reviews because if I like the book I’ll follow the author and read everything that they have out. I really love this author she’s really great. She pulls you in and by the time you realize it the book is done and you want more.
The plot is good but she gives one little bit of the plot then adds in a bunch of extraneous stuff. At this rate the series is going to be 50 books long if she doesn’t get to the point.
It’s an absolute must read. This is the second book in the series and it just keeps getting better and better. The characters are amazing as is the plot of the story you guys won’t be disappointed.
Lucy is in over her head, but trying her best. She has a huge jail break. She gets cornered by a white wolf. So much for our Lucy to figure out with her magic suppressed. Join Lucy in Hel l
