Redtop: An Urban Standalone

Rate this book
Robin “ Redtop” Martin was cursed since the day she was born. Dealt a bad hand from the very start, born into a family riddled with addiction, Robin watched her father be murdered and her mother get raped all at the age of four. She was given up by her mother and thrown into a system, going from one foster home to another. Robin did what she could to survive, but the streets eventually grabbed a hold of her, causing her to be drugged and forced into rape and prostitution.

Now that’s she older, Robin found her way out the streets and became the biggest drug dealer that Chicago has ever seen. She was a trigger happy white girl with abandonment issues, that the streets came to know, fear, and love as “ Redtop”.

After years of feeling like no one cared about her, she stumbled upon her happily ever after, Lucky, who pushes her to find her true purpose, the only thing that’s missing from her dream life is closure from her father’s death and mother’s disappearance, and then she can give up the game she loves so much before it’s too late.

Can Redtop finally find peace and get over her father’s death and her mother giving her up? Will she be able to trust this new love and find happiness for once in her life? The streets show no love, and Redtop finds that out the hard way.

Tune in to this epic standalone as it takes you on a emotional roller coaster.

Really Good Read!

I first read about Redtop in Luvin' My Lil Mama and it was good to get the back story on how Robin Martin's life started out and how Redtop came to be.She initially was something else, a force to be reckoned with, all due to the error of her parent's ways, but deep down inside she was just a girl who was dealt a bad hand and was trying to make the best of her situation.Though she had the love of her adopted Mother and Brother, she longed for so much more. One thing is for certain, her inner circle was very small but loyal to no end.I'm so glad they didn't turn out to be grimy. And Lucky was indeed filled the void in her heart.I hate her biological mother got caught in the crossfire but love how she made the ultimate sacrifice for her daughter. On another note, dirty cops usually don't prosper and the ones in this story got exactly what they deserved,as did Charlie and Marco. Most don't make it out the game, but glad to see Robin and crew get out nearly unscathed.I would love to see a spin off with Marley and Peaches!

Omgggg that was an awesome read, I couldn't put the book down!! Redtop and Peaches was truly the Queens!! I was mad at Emily at first for abandoning Robin but as the story continued I guess I understood and really thought Emily was dead but to find out she changed her Debbie identity and married to the enemy put a pause in me lol This book is too much to talk about but I will say it was AWESOME!! Fyrrre read!!!!

Redtop was sooo good! I loved the loyalty and friendships. The storyline held my interest the entire time and I couldn't stop reading! All the drama was crazy good. I was so anxious to know what was going down next that I couldn't put it down. I admired Redtop's strength and willing to make sure everybody was good no matter what she endured. Lucky was the real MVP and I loved everything about him. Great read Jay Tha Writer!!!

REALLY GOOD READ

I really enjoyed this book. With this book I got a better understanding of who Redtop was from her childhood, how she got the name and the reason why she was so coldhearted. I like the friendship her and peaches had that went back to their group home days. Lucky and Marley definitely balanced the ladies out and were their ride or dies until the end. Glad the couples got their happy ending.

Redtop

This book had an interesting storyline but I had to give it three stars because of the grammar errors and all of the repetitive lines or ideas. There were quite a few instances where the same thing was said in one paragraph but just a different way. With proper editing and more writing experience, this could have been a really good read. Hopefully the author will continue to grow and evolve in the writing industry.

Redtop

This was a very sad but amazing story. I was glad that Red finally seen her mother but was sad when it ended so fast before they could even get to no each other better. Its great how everything worked out for them all and how she took her little sis in due to no wanting the same life she lead to become her sisters. I like how the book ended it brought a tear to my eyes. Yall must read this book.

Good book

At first I was a little nervous about reading it. Cover was dope but once I opened the book it was a little slow going. Glad I stuck with it. I loved the flow of it. That damn detective wasn’t letting redtop go for nothing glad they made it out the way they did. Sad about her mom though.

I thought Lucky was dead! Definitely a page turner! We deal with the cards that was dealt to us daily! I don’t feel Redtop was a bad person, she just played her hand she was dealt!

Always the Queen!

Redtop also known as Robin. The storyline that captured her life to the top and out of the game was awesome. A little predictable for me but all in all a phenomenal read. One click.

I've been following Redtop for some time now. I'm happy she finally found her mother. Although things didn't work out with them she was able to find peace. I'm also glad that Lucky came back.
