I love this series! The characters of Abby, Max, Lili, Sami and Lukas are so well written and I could read each book in one sitting. I also love the storyline of this one and how we get to see the different viewpoints of each character and why they each did what they did.
it always amazes me how authors come up with ideas like this for stories. Do regret that some of the characters had less screen time but it was still an enjoyable story and im interested to see where the troop goes next
I thought I could relate to this book as it said cadet forces on the front but I was upset when I read and has no relation to it at all. It was still a great book though but I should of read it in order instead of starting half way through the series.
Max, Lucas, Abby, Sami and Lilly drop into the Amazon jungle on a mission to find sad soldiers which are in need to be captured by some important person (Oscar), he is assumed to kidnap young people after wiping villages for all they have and taking people and training them to be in a private army the cadets (max and his friends) soon find out about this violence and fear they pretend to be researchers who are lost to try and manipulate Oscar but they set of in the wrong direction and actually become battered bruised and starving not sure they will survive but we will have to see
Not my favorite because of the slow start, but it has undoubtedly some standout moments that will mark itself as faves from the entire series thus far.
Max continues to be a kind, courageous leader. Sami the bravest, purest soul who is a triumphant David against Goliaths. Abby and Lili being the quick witted, street smarts duo in the wild, wild forests. And Lukas. Oh man, my boy Lukas. He was rather the nuisance in book 1 but the more I learn about him, the more he endears himself to me. As he continues to carry his tough guy facade, he also continues to unravel the side of him that truly, genuinely cares, and I admire him so.
I freakin love this series! Luckily I listen to them as Audiobooks, otherwise I wouldn't be able to go on with my life!!! Each book finished within a day :) Once you start a new book it immediately captures your full attention. It doesn't take long for the plot to increase the thrill. Chris Ryan somehow achieves to hold tension up until the very last page. Only option: finish the book same day 🤩
After reading three books in this series, Max and Sami are definitely my favourite characters in the Special Forces Cadets. Max, because of his calm, level-headedness and Sami because of his kindness and gentleness. In this instalment, the team is trapped in the Congo rainforest and held prisoners by an international trafficking ring. I must say, there were some nail-biting moments throughout this novel and once again it was an action-packed, exciting read which would appeal to younger teens looking for thrills and adventure.
This one from the series was slightly predictable. After reading the series we know the SFC will be saved. This one was predictable as we knew that Lukas didn’t shoot his mates and they would eventually come to help the others. Again a slight twist at the ending. But again another gripping book.

Darker than the previous two. Although none of our kid main characters kills anyone, there's a bit of a body count towards the end of this one, plus some gruesome descriptions. I will be keeping my more sensitive pupils away from it.
