Sex is his weapon.
Power is her drug.

No. Freaking. Kidding. Caesar was bold, beautiful, and breathtakingly raw. He was a hypnotic being. In my eyes, he could do no wrong, even when he was committing the most evil of deeds. He was the worst sort of made man. He brought shame and dishonor to the cosa nostra. He was unapologetic and cavalier. He was also incredibly broken and his pieces were only made more stunning by his own brand of honesty. Caesar used sex to hurt people. He found very little to find pleasure in, but obliterating the emotions of those who have wronged him were the highlight of his days. Girlfriends weren't safe and wives were the forbidden fruit. And then there was Aria...

Aria was a woman of the camorra. Women were supposed to be seen, not heard. They were to look pretty for their man and unavailable to anyone else. Although women were involved in the business, they held no true power. Aria was about to change all that. For years she has been obedient, minding the words of the men around her. Victimized and ignored, she was ready to show everyone how truly strong she was. And Caesar was the perfect pawn.

Caesar and Aria were unlike any other characters introduced by this author. Something I've realized in life is that you don't have to like someone in order to respect them. And while I loved Caesar's broken soul and wanted to swim in his awesomeness, I wasn't a fan of Aria's. But I respected the hell out of her balls. This girl had some huge cojones and I loved watching her in action. Shoot, I loved watching both her and Caesar and the savagery and chaos they brought to the game.

A happy ending is guaranteed but the ride to glory wasn't an easy one. It was full of pain, trials and tribulations the body count was ridiculous. If you're a fan of anti-heroes, anti-heroines, and the glitz and glamour found in the world of organized crime, you won't want to miss out on Dishonored!

"She couldn't possibly lose. Not now."
description

Dishonored is an action-packed mafia romance full of raw passion and grit. The ruthless and powerful Aria De Rose will stop at nothing to gain power and control. Caesar Accardo, a Mafia Prince, is fierce about feeding his sexual desires and when it comes to business he isn’t afraid to get his hands bloody. When these two battle it out for their mafia families, passion is the only bond that allows for a cease-fire. As the truth of the pains they have both experienced surface, they are left with only each other to depend on and fearlessly find their way together!

"He was just a puppet. He moved at her will."
Told in multiple POV, is a fast-paced read full of gritty text and smoking hot steam. Both live in a violent world and the intricacies of these characters are quite unique. The tempo is fast as life and death are on the line.
"Karma is a bad bitch, but she's never met me."
Overall, I highly recommend Dishonored to readers who are drawn to broken people with a fierce will to survive! This is my second Bethany Kris read and I will certainly be back for more!

Dishonored by Bethany Kris
GENRE: Dark Mafia Romance
NARRATION: Narrative
BOOK DETAILS: A standalone novel
AUDIO AVAILABLE? No

THE STORY:
I will keep it short and sweet as the blurb is telling enough.
Enemies in the Mafia world but lovers in the bedroom. Caesar Accado and Aria De Rose fathers are both leaders in opposing clans within the criminal underworld.

Opposites as enemies but so parallel in person, they both have ulterior motives, but cannot deny their chemistry as lust turns into a dangerous game of power and betrayal, secrets and lies.

"And he found heaven. Or good God ... Maybe she is hell."

description
MY THOUGHTS:
Both Caesar and Aria De Rose are a product of their upbringing within the mafia life. They are both ruthless and strong characters, lacking in standard morals and ambitious in purpose and power. Given their brutal mafia world, they have had to adapt in they  order to survive.

Neither hero or heroine in this story are immediately likeable. They took some time to grow on me but I had to admire the courage Aria showed in doing whatever she needed in order to get the independence and power she so greatly sought.

"Vicious, violent, and vehement. And she would bow to no one. Not again."

Caesar is one arrogant and cocky alpha male, he has a bad attitude about everything, getting pleasure from destroying anything he can. He is violence, power and possession rolled into a dirty mouthed, duplicitous sexy sun of a bitch.

This story is dark and gritty, there is no fluff or sugar coating in this story, reminding us that the criminal underworld /mafia is in reality no fairy-tale. The storytelling is intense and fast paced, not leaving any room for intermission. It’s violent, it’s raw, confronting and doesn’t disappoint. I gave Dishonoured 5 Blushing Stars and highly recommend to lovers of Dark Mafia Romance.

Dishonoured is a story about control, fortitude, vengeance and deceit. Showing us that even in the darkness, love can be found.

The blurb...

Sounds.

Fuckin.

Good.

To.

Me.

and this being somewhat different set of characters than I am used to getting from Bethany-Kris, I grew to accept them in the end, considering their story, journey without the knowledge of how to deal with the heavy subject in the Mafia world other than living by the given code.
I didn't instantly love nor like Caesar Accado
Caesar had no morals, zero honor, and a severe lack of care when it came to their life, traditions, and rules.

Caesar didn't have much of a preference when it came to females, but he did have a kink, of sorts

He was the dishonored.
The despised.
The shamed made man.

and yeah, we find out the very reason WHY he turned out to be that way, and his way towards this acceptance is paved with not that moral of conduct, in fact, I disliked him thoughout...BUT I loved his counter enemy Aria De Rose.

A daughter of the Camorra clan.
She was a De Rose. Camorra.
Vicious, violent and vehement.
And she would bow to no one.
Not again.

And yes, she was in an arranged abusive marriage. And yes, she endured it all cause of father goal- -gaining power, gaining revenge...BUT then she met him - her greatest rival and the bloody, devious, sickening and trecherous game begun
He was the one who used sex as a weapon, and she had turned the tables on him.

and what a turn about the was...

until they both cleared the paths with bloodshed, then setting the records straight within acknowledging their inner scars and accepting their broken souls by mending one another in this joined powerful hungry, blood thirsty union.

Bethany-Kris always finds the way to intertwine seriousness of subjects not usually spoken of, in her stories and she does it so well, that you end up changing your mind about the characters, right there, before the very end.

Inspite the fact, that i wasn't instantly won over by the main male character, that fact that he challenged and dealt with the torment of the past, I just found that the "way" he "handled" those scars wasn't the way I would have considered "manly" knowing that he's a part of the most structured and stealth of worlds.

I just thought he could have dealt it sooner and more practical, I suppose, since he did, in fact, approved and allowed the full rampage revenge in the end.

But that's just my opinion and not a general rule.

It’s hard to review anything by Bethany Kris because I’m very subjective. I love her writing style. It works for me. When it comes to books about the mafia or criminals in general, I love her work.

- There is never any gratuitous violence, especially against women. Everything, from the inconspicuous familial conversations to the action and emotionally packed scenes, has a motive behind it. It’s either to aid character development or to move the story forward. It’s such a silly thing to observe because every story should theoretically work in the same way, but I’ve read so many that I can say it’s a rare thing to happen.

- There is a certain cadence and ambiance to the story. The way things progress not only feels natural but you it lets you get in the characters head, it really puts you there.

- We are always told or we are given an explanation as to why someone acts a certain way or why he/she made a certain decision, and it makes you empathise with a character that you wouldn’t otherwise like.

- I liked Aria and Caesar both. It's weird to say that, because they were not very good people but by the standards of the world they lived in, I suppose they were pretty nice, which should tell you something. They were damaged and their actions were primarily reactionary to how they were used to be treated. They had major trust issues, were manipulative and extremely shrewd. If that's your thing, this is the perfect book.

- Most of the story is based on a ploy to one-up the other person, they have this intense cat and mouse relationship while trying to understand the motivations of the other person. It was an interesting way to have the characters meet and develop their feeling from there.

There are some difficult topics discussed, such as domestic abuse, childhood abuse (it applies to both the male and female mc) and general violence and mayhem. So be warned.

One of the things I loved most was how our heroine Aria, was as much a victim as she was a her own hero. She didn't cower and wait to be rescued, she didn't cry for her misfortune, she just made a plan and ruthlessly executed it. As tough as she was though, we still got to see glimpses of vulnerability and that only made her character more real and human.

To conclude, this was a good, fast paced, action packed, steamy mafia romance, with a bit of everything but especially some pretty darn interesting MCs.

How? How can BK write two villains that commit the most heinous crimes without batting an eyelid and have me rooting for them? Seriously? Well, she certainly did with Caesar and Aria. These two are vicious and manipulative, bad to the bone and totally own it. BK does not shy away from the brutality of their mafia world, at all but she does it in such a way I sort of accepted it. Huh!

Both Caesar and Aria have reasons for what they are and do, and this is revealed as their backstories are peeled away layer by layer. The author pulls no punches with this book, it’s different from all her other books out there but brilliant nonetheless. Damn, does this author know how to play with my feelings. I was totally enthralled with this enemies to lovers story. It’s pure dark genius!

Caesar Accardo (Cosa Nostra) and Aria De Rose (Camorra) are a force to be reckoned with. As adversaries, each are ruthless, vicious, violent, and vehement. But their fearlessness and need for vengeance fuels playing with fires that can cause their own self destruction. When Aria decides that using Caesar will benefit her plan within the Camorra, she realizes that he is not a “use and lose” man, but a man that will change everything.

This story grabbed me and didn’t let go. Caesar and Aria were addictive and manipulative to my heart. Their fiery attraction and passionate encounters were filled with hate and contempt but also, “a something else” and that something else was completely unexpected. Each was looking for freedom in a world where rules and honor is of the upmost importance. Their cat and mouselike games take lives and create more chaos within their worlds. Do they care, not really, for each has an agenda that fans the flames for destruction. Those that get caught in the cross fire......so be it.

I loved these two characters. Both so similar in strength, convictions, vulnerabilities and especially in wanting justice and not caring of the consequences. Their love/hate relationship was off the charts sassy and sexy. But their inner battles of pain and hurt caught me off guard. It was raw, fierce, despairing and destructive. But it also made them who they were and eventually lead them to each other. Their journey is corrupt, vengeful, violent and sexy. The Cosa Nostra and The Camorra do not mix but Caesar and Aria might just be the exception.

This fantastic standalone, enemies to lovers story is a must read!! Bethany Kris takes her passionate storytelling to new heights with Dishonored. Thank you for telling Caesar and Aria’s story.

Caesar enjoys watching others suffer, making them feel the helpless anger he's felt for years. He's got no desires to be a made man for his father, he poses no real threat to the outside, at least he didn't until Aria de Rose steals his attention. She's a Queen and she'd stake him with her heels if the game they were playing wasn't so entertaining and getting her exactly what she wanted. The two start a high stakes battle, filled with sexual secret meetings and power-driven bloodshed.

"Vicious, violent, and vehement. And she would bow to no one. Not again."

I am not even going to sugarcoat this, I did not expect Dishonored to be a 5 star read and right now I'm sitting here shocked that it absolutely was for me. The characters aren't my usual taste and some of the storyline in the novel is heavy, but ultimately both of those things are what drew me in. Caesar Accardo is haughty and has an attitude about everything (heeven wears rings on every finger!), plus he likes to ruin things. Knowing Bethany-Kris' writing I knew there was a backstory to this, but nothing prepared me for what it really was. He's an angry person, with a past fueling the fire that keeps his hatred alight. Aria de Rose is a beautiful, kept women with a desire for power and the right sort of ambition. They're enemies, at least they're supposed to be, but these two gorgeous people can't deny lust or games.

"And he found heaven. Or good God ... Maybe she was hell."

Dishonored follows Caesar and Aria as they each go after control, the very thing each has, at one point, had none of. They're beautiful on the outside, but bruised and beaten on the inside, bringing out there very worst selves. We're treated to a lot of blood shed, crude dialogue, and heated smut, with the two blurring the lines between hate and love. There's a lot of family dynamics to this novel, with Bethany-Kris showing us a darker side to the underground world of crime. Things aren't always guns, money, drugs, and women, sometimes there isn't a parent helping their child succeed. By the end of the novel I could picture the two perfectly with their impeccable hair and clothing, their smirks, their journey to the top, and the chemistry sparking between them constantly.

""Like sin, and hell, and the hate in her heart."

There's no gilded gold throne for these two, but both have their sights set on a bloody one, one they can make with the bodies they leave behind as the game grows more dangerous. Of course, there's a romance mixed in, a good one at that. Both Caesar and Aria have no idea what it really means to be cared for, so while they care for one another in a different way than is typical it is right for them. They learn to accept themselves, accept the flaws of others, and to use their pain in a way that suits them. Each is broken, but together they're a perfect fit. I highly recommend Dishonored, it's a memorable read that has some fantastic character development. If romance and syndicated crime is your thing, Bethany-Kris should be a go to author for you.

I've got no words that can adequately describe Dishonored. You MUST read this for yourself.

BK does a stellar job of giving us characters that some readers may not like, in fact, some may have a hard time getting past their actions BUT their character growth, their vulnerability and when they come together - BAM! Pure magic!

This isn't a hearts and roses story, and there are moments of pure ugliness. But BK gives it to you real, raw and gritty, and this girl wouldn't have it any other way. This story deals with some pretty weighty issues but it's woven into a compelling story that helps make it easier to go down.

I highly recommend this story and can't wait for what's next from BK!

This book is life changing and Aria and Caesar's relationship is one of a kind. I fell in love with both of them right from the start.
One of the many things that I love about Bethany-Kris's books is that she has this way of telling the characters' stories in such a way that you feel like they are real. As you read the book, you experience everything they experience and that makes you fall in love with the characters. Another thing that BK does is that both characters have substance. Both characters have issues and they both grow.
Aria and Caesar are two people that have such amazing stories that everyone should read. Without giving any spoilers away, their story is explosive, heartbreaking, riveting and BK wraps it all with with a beautiful ending.
Start to finish, this book is completely perfect. A 10 out 10 and a must read for sure.

DNF@12% H is immature and seems to have major daddy issues. I also don't enjoy a character who purposely sleeps with married woman of men he knows. That kind of immature behavior doesn't come across as Alpha to me, just a boy looking for attention.

Re-read December 14th 2019.

I won a paperback copy in a giveaway, and was so excited to get it I of course didn’t put it down. My review still stands a year later and Caesar is still my favorite male lead that BK has written to date. All I want to add to this review is.. Alexa, play Money Diamonds Roses by Lolo Zouaï.

“A bit of shame, isn’t it, my girl?”
“What is?”
“All we’ve done to one another. Every cut we made. And though I hate you for a lot of things, still, I somehow love you.”

Five stars for this standalone.
Bethany-Kris always has me with her books-hook, line, and sinker. These two characters were broken, ruthless, and calculating; I loved every moment of it. The match up from the beginning is superb.. Aria being strong and cunning but unable to escape from the prison that is her life. She decides to take up manipulating Caesar to help her unshackle her from those chains. However, what she doesn't know is that Caesar is definitely a match for her in this game of chess. Intrigued by her bravado and strategy. Even he is hiding something that has held him in his broken state for far too long. For those who have read The Seasons trilogy you finally get to know more about the strange man that is Caesar, and Kris is not going to let you down yet. I certainly could not put this book down. From the coercing, hot steamy scenes, and the constant change in power you are not sure where these two will end up. All you do know if that there will be plenty of bodies on the floor.

Holy crap batman. This book blew me away. I freaking loved this story about Caesar and Aria. Just when you think you have a handle on what is going on, BAMB you are thrown another twist.

Caesar and Aria are both screwed up in their own right. But when they come together they find a peace within each other that they never expected. Both use sex as a weapon and neither is used to it from the other. There is something really deep about watching these two try to out whit each other and fall in love at the same time.

I have to say that this story is not what I expected at all. It was so much more. More emotions, more impact, more everything. I loved it.

GAH!! DISHONORED was pure fire!!! I seriously loved every second of this book and read it in one sitting. Caesar and Aria were so sexy and intense. I was absolutely addicted to their story and could not put this down!!

Without giving away any spoilers, just know that Dishonored needs to be read ASAP!! I went into this book not knowing how this story would play out and was honestly blown away by the multifaceted depth to this story. Aria was everything I loved in a heroine. She was sassy, sexy, strong and a force to be reckoned with. Likewise, Caesar was alpha to a Tee and all things I love in a Made man. These two together were pure fireworks!! These characters were absolutely perfect for one another and were each other's greatest match. I truly loved that the author was able to highlight the fact that even though the hero and heroine may not be perfect, wholesome and good, they brought out the best in one another. Furthermore, I loved that while this story was a love story between Aria and Caesar it was also very gritty, raw and violent and not all hearts and flowers.

My favorite part of the story was that the author was able to show how Caesar and Aria had their own demons they needed to overcome before they even could be together. As a result, I was one hundred percent in love with their personal journeys in overcoming their struggles. This is truly one of the best mafia stories I have ever read! Bravo! 5 stars! ~Ratula

I am completely ruined for every book after this. BK does it again!!!!

I was hesitant straying away from the Marcello/Chicago/Guzzi world but I’m SO glad I did.

The start of this new world -seasons -collab with London miller was the first moment I fell for Caesar. I remember clearly panicking they’d kill him
off and I kept thinking god there’s more to this guy! And I was overjoyed to find out his book was in the works.

Caesar is a riot, literally so many moments where I laughed, snorted, was just plain shocked, and then there’s one particular moment where I just about balled my eyes out bc of how much I hurt for him. Aria, oh goodness aria. Submissive women tend to drive me insane- but she was far from it even when she was violently forced to be one for the sake of her well being. Aria, a clever, STRONG heroine was everything.

BK did an impeccable job with these characters, the story line, and their sexy af chemistry- even when they “hated” each other. A part of me hoped they would continue on in multiple books but I was surprisingly appeased- the storyline progressively got better as you continued through the book. I would still love more on the king and queen of philly but I won’t be greedy lol.

I’m not even going to try to overly describe this main couple’s complicated, enemies to lovers, hot mess of a mafia relationship, folks. In doing so, I’m simply afraid I’ll accidentally give away too many spoilers. All you need to know is if you want to meet a determined to survive, get revenge at the same time, and assume the throne of her mob family, well, Aria De Rose is exactly what you are looking for. She may come across as a cold, calculating chameleon, but she sure seems to know how to get down and dirty so she can stack the mafioso cards in her favor. She puts true meaning behind the words, “A girl’s got to do what a girl’s got to do.” Keep in mind though, some may find it extreme and may or may not find it acceptable.

Caesar Accardo, the “could give a flying leap less of what people think of him” hero, has some cards up his own sleeve, as well. He’s the type of hero though some may have a hard time accepting and embracing at first, as well. It takes Aria’s insightful glimpse into his soul to open up old wounds that have never healed and force him to face the pain that has turned him into a man he never should have become. You see, his past has been a driving force that has lead him to his rebellious, hurtful, destructive ways. Let’s just say, for some of you, he’ll really test your limits.

Surprisingly, these unlikely lovebirds end up using each other as a means to an end to free themselves from unwanted ties that bind them. Who would have thought it would bind their hearts together, as well.

There is a fair share of mob type violence with some very graphic, off the charts, smexy scenes with lusty language, folks. So brace yourself, you’ve been warned. Because of Caesar’s womanizing antics/mentality regarding married women before meeting Aria and her current relationship status, I can’t really peg this one as a totally safe romance safe read. There is definitely someone standing in the way that causes quite the dilemma. You just need to remember it is something she did not ask for or even want.

I’m not sure what this author has in store next for us. What I do know is her writing never fails to draw me in completely until the very end.

Romance Safety Gang:

Title: Dishonored, Author: Bethany-Kris, Pages: NL, stand-alone, very graphic steamy scenes with lusty language, graphic mob violence, mob main couple, child sexual abuse references, twists and turns I didn't see coming, not romance safe for some.

Expect the unexpected.

That is the best way I can explain this book without giving anything away.

Your head will be turning at every point. You will be utterly captivated by not only the storyline but the characters too.

Caesar and Aria were explosive together. And seperately they were ruthless.

I couldn't have pictured a more perfect person for Caesar than Aria and vice versa.

Caesar is unpredictable. He's hella arrogant and seemed very self destructible yet so put together at the same time. It was bizarre.

And then in comes Aria... Fearless. So bloody fearless. She had an air of arragonce that you could not fake. She has a mind that would make you think she's insane and so damn clever at the same.

Aria is part of a Camarro whereas Caesar is part of Costa Nostra. Both organization are very different - they both have different rules and expectations. And this is where all the action starts...

While reading Dishonoured my head was turning at every event because it was all so intense! There was a heart pounding build up of sexual tension along with exhilarating tension between the two organizations. It was so action packed you really had no idea where the story would go. You, as a reader, think you know what will happen and then things really aren't as they seem and your thrown back in your chair... it's like Bethany Kris ties you down to a chair and says 'ha I'm not done yet, strap yourself down, love'.

The romance was fire in this. The couple were not only sensual but they were damn right raw. It was unputdownable. It has the touch Bethany Kris seems to flawlessly master but with characters that have personalities you've not read before.

Caesar and Aria's story really took me by surprise and that's one the many things I loved about it.

4.5 stars

At first I wasn't sure how to feel about the characters. Aria was manipulative and Caesar was reckless and self serving. It didn't take long before they grew on me. Both of them had their own serious issues because of bad things that happened to them, but they were still strong. They way they worked together yet played off of each other was fabulous!

This one of Bethany-Kris's best books yet. I love it that some of her characters have psychological issues. The best thing is that it's not overly romanticized and cured by love. They still have to get therapy or medication to get better.

Great as always

Wow this had it all: hot kinky sex, violence, revenge, plotting, turning the tables, villains who are villains for a reason, and a strong kick assed female lead!

Great read. The horrible truth in the story was that the ones Caesar and Aria loved the most did not protect them from the evil they invited in. Their loved ones knew what was happening and turned away and let it happen. I think that is the biggest betrayal of all.

There is lots of violence but it was necessary and I cheered for it every time!

I can’t believe I have the NERVE to say this, but Caesar is definitely in the same category as the legendary Lucian and Cross. Yes. I know. I didn’t see it coming but dang this guy pierced my heart with deadly accuracy!

I remember the first time I laid eyes on this incredibly sexy cover last year. I knew the story would take me on a ride for which I would not easily recover. Caesar and Aria’s journey is complicated and beautiful! Their relationship is not typical but it’s perfect for them. Power. Control. It’s what drives them both in vastly different ways. I love the power play between Caesar and Aria! Forgive me for my vagueness, but I’m trying really hard not to give away the “ERMAGAWD what???” Yeah there’s definitely something that’s gonna knock you on your hind parts!

Read. This. Story. Caesar and Aria are beautiful complicated souls and the ride is DIVINE!

Five stars!

I know I say this every time but THIS is my favorite story by Bethany Kris yet. Cesar and Aria are separately in deep with their unhappiness in their life, but will never give up on trying to change it. This includes manipulating anyone that comes in their path. When the both of them find themselves trying to get out of their own situations, using each other is not off the table. I loved how their struggle a part become how they would fight for one another.
I loved Aria’s character. She was smart, conniving, and so full of life fighting to get away from abuse at the hands of a man she was forced to marry. She was always thinking steps ahead to ensure she not only came out of things alive, but also that she came out in charge.
Cesar has always been one to disobey authority, he was his own person through and through and that is what I admired most about him. Though working for the family kept him in line to an extent, he always pushed the envelope with how far he could toe the line with what would get him killed.
Their love story was epic, and these two powerful souls that were so damaged were truly so beautiful together. I loved them with all of my heart and never wanted the book to end. There’s a special way this author can take a story and transport you right into the world she’s writing about-and this book was no exception. A must read!

This book was a solid 5 Star read for me!!!!

All the elements that I love were in this book, Bethany-Kris did not disappoint.

Caesar and Aria are definitely not you typical romantic couple but all that extra that they have going on certainly works for them and made their story totally engaging I could not put this book down.

They come from two different worlds with two different sets of rules and they are breaking all of them and nobody is safe.

Be still my heart ! Dishonored was PER-FECT! Caesar and Aria are here to stay!

With DISHONORED you're in for a treat! This book is different from other Cosa Nostra books by BK since we have the introduction of a new mafia structure, however, have no doubt that from the beginning to the very end this story will keep you entertained and looking forward to find out more.

Caesar Accardo is definitely different. More ruthless, way more arrogant and full of attitude, that shouldn't be good traits that make you fall in love but of course you're going to enjoy every single second of it. With him everything is not what it seems and Caesar is more of a complex character that you could imagine.

Aria De Rose is a queen
"The prized rose with her thorns.” she doesn't bow to anyone or so it seems, appearence is all for this woman, but everything in life has a reason doesn't it? Even as the acting boss, the life of Aria in the Camorra clan is not easy, but our girl is not a quitter and in Dishonored we learn how powerful she truly is.

Bethany Kris like always gave us a flawless story, with her captivating writing style you won't be able to put Dishonored down!

Happy reading!
