Luke's brother Robert always took chances on the river. He would jump the fastest current or climb the steepest boulder while Luke and his friends watched from shore. But ever since one of those stunts led to to Robert's death, nothing has been the same. Luke's parents can't seem to get along, they constantly warn him to be careful, and Luke's friend Milo is now the one being a daredevil -- and he challenges Luke to be the same. With river adventures full of action Bill Maynard makes his readers question how courage is proven. First-time novelist Bill Maynard is the author of two Putnam picture books: Incredible Ned and Santa's Time Off.
I was reading this as a wake up and before going to bed to sleep, hence why it took a little longer than it should for a short book.
I actually really liked it. At some point I wondered where the kids were located and what year it could be. I did learn however that it was published in 1998, which is cool. Maybe 1990s sometime. Either way as well, very good book. Recommend if you want something short.
It was the awesomest book i ever read I cant even belive he didn't even know how to swim that was scary luckily everyone survived or i would be really sad if they did then it would be really boaring if someone died I cant belive i even finished it
