How far would you go to bring your twin’s killer to justice?
No one notices when Brianna Denton goes missing every weekend. With no immediate family or close friends left, being alone is something with which she has become well-acquainted, but when her sister is murdered, she finds herself on a lone mission to identify the killer.
According to the authorities, ‘no body, no case.’
Brianna’s quest to find her sister’s murderer despite the police department’s refusal to help, draws her into a life of drugs, alcohol, and prostitution—the very elements that led her twin to the shadows and rat holes of the underbelly of North Beach.
Drawn into the dark underground society to face Tatianna’s killer, Brianna is about to come face-to-face with her own shocking destiny. As she unearths long-buried secrets, the tight edge of reality comes to light, challenging her tenuous grip on life as she knows it. Finding the answers she seeks could lead her to an even darker place.

this was a really awesome book! she wants to find out who killed her sister. yet there is no body and no one has ever heard of her. now she wants answers to what happened. she goes to the streets where there is danger. read this intense book!
When Brianna Denton's sister is missing and the case has gon cold . She takes it upon herself to find out who murdered her .The police have stopped looking there is no body, so Brianna goes undercover to the streets and enters the life of drugs , alcohol and prostitution but there is more to the story and when she meets Dr. Ben James she starts to remember the past and what truly happens to her is unbelievable. I was actually blown away by these characters , they are so well crafted and complex . Brianna well she is tough as nails when you first meet her but as you see her you just want to wrap her up and hug her . She is hurting so much and she just needs to be loved and to give love . She has such a vulnerability that will touch your heart . Dr Ben is well he is a protector and a great guy with a hidden past . You will either like him or hate him . Sometimes you just don't get the read on him and when you finally figure him out you will love him . I settled down and read this book in an evening and once i started reading i couldn't put it down. I wanted to find out if she found her sister and what happened . The author takes us on a journey full of twists and turns that will have you going what the heck through out the book . There is only one issue i have with the book and i wish it was longer and we got to dive into the two main characters a little bit more . I feel like its just the tip of the ice berg and i wanted more . I truly enjoyed this book and wow the twist at the end had me reading over it twice cause i wasn't sure the twist was real or not . So if you have an evening to dive into a good book check it out . You will love it .
Brianna Denton is on a mission. With no help from the police, she's determined to find her twin sisters killer. To do this she must follow in her sisters steps. This means leaving her college life behind and become a "street walker" (this is the nicest of terms).
However, things start to unravel for Brianna when things start to come to light about Tatianna and Brianna's past. Will Brianna be able to face what's to come?
This was more along the lines of psychological thriller in a way. I was interested from the first page and determined to figure out the mystery myself. However, I have to say by the end I was surprised and never would've guessed how the authors took this story!
I think my only disappointment with this book have more to do with how Brianna's ending happened. For her to obtain her degree she must undergo the same kind of therapy her patients would and this has me curious how long she had to of been going to these "sessions" without her therapist catching her problem. I also wish the book didn't just seem to end abruptly like it did. After everything Brianna went through and finally unlocking things her mind had locked up for over two decades, I find it weird that she would be okay jumping into a relationship with the "I love you's" so fast.
This story sets the basis for a blend of suspense, flashbacks, violence, and murder. Brianna Denton is searching for the killer of her fraternal twin sister, drawing you into a world clouded with debauchery, drugs, prostitution, conflict, lust, and an indifferent policemen force. There are sudden twists and turns, and shocking revelations. The narrative is spellbinding where you begin to understand Brianna’s plight and what she is willing to do to seek truth and justice, but you realize things are not always what they appear to be, especially when the enigmatic Dr. Ben James comes into her life, slowly building up to an ending that will leave you shaken to the core.
Death's Shadow is an intense rollercoaster ride thru prostitution, debauchery, murder, sins against self and one women's journey to discover herself. As the book progresses we see a woman Brianna who is searching for her dead sister Tatiana and she is devastated that no one knows anything about her twin sister. Brianna meets Ben and they have a connection that neither of them really understands. This book is brilliantly written and the twists and turns will keepyou on the edge of your seat. The ending is a shock. Characters are strongly written and will draw you in. Definitely a psychological thriller with a little romance thrown in. I do feel the ending was abrupt and should have been more substantial. Overall a great book by a new author to me.
A thrilling mystery that will have you dive deep into the dregs of society's underbelly. When the only person left in your life goes missing, how far would you go to find her or at least find justice? Follow Brianna as she risks everything to get justice for her dead twin. Some of the dialogue was a little stiff and some parts a little too unbelievable or I would've given five stars. Overall a great read.
This is a terrific mystery with plenty of suspense that I could not put down. The story is tightly woven with plenty of twists and surprises along the way that kept me guessing. The characters are intriguing, and had me wanting to know more.. definitely a book worth reading.
Psychologically twisted! A suspenseful thriller full of mystery and a bit of romance along the way. I enjoyed the story and was eager to uncover what happened. The ending wasn’t what I was expecting which made it all the more better!
This is my second book by this author and just wow! This story was so full of twists and turns! The last one I definitely didn't see coming. Really fantastic story. Loved it!
