i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the fourth book in the Castle Harbor series. In this book, cafe owner Alex is on his way to open the cafe one morning and finds a man passed out in the alley. Alex wakes Tyson to see if he is okay and Tyson is really hungover. Tyson asks where he is and if he went home with Alex. Alex offers Tyson coffee and learns Tyson works at the construction site for the new resort. When Tyson realizes he needs to stop drinking and he has to come out to be with Alex, he decides he wants to try. Alex has been working at the cafe since his father died and he is wearing himself out. When Alex and Tyson try a relationship, they both have to deal with their issues. Alex needs to learn not to be a workaholic and Tyson needs to quit drinking. I really enjoyed this book. I thought they dealt with their problems in a mature way and it was good to see them working it out together. I liked Tyson and he was really struggling with drinking and he felt he was letting everyone down. Alex was scared he wouldn't have made his father proud and he had to do everything himself. This is a great series and i can't wait for the next book.
“I stood up for my heart, so why did it hurt so much?”
Alex owns the local café and is a bit of a workaholic. Tyson is a construction worker who is struggling to stay sober. Together they learn to support each other and work through the things that haunt them. Neither is perfect, their struggles are realistic, and it made for a heartfelt and sweet story. I really enjoyed Alex and Tyson’s story. I did have a few unanswered questions, but nothing big that it took away from the story.
Austin Jay did a great job. I was able to easily follow along as he spoke clearly and has a nice voice.

Two men with two separate lives, both having addictions. One for being a workaholic and one for alcoholism. Alex and Tyson meet at the back of Ales's cafe. Tyson has been on a "Bender" and Alex finds him. From there the men work at a relationship that involves coming out, trying to recover from drinking, and trying to let go of total control of a cafe. The story is intriguing and full of angst, regret, self-loathing, addictions and trying to find love for two men who could possibly need each more than they thought they did. A short sweet angsty story, the fourth in this series. One that shouldn't be missed . I voluntarily read and reviewed this ARC story.
This addition to the series is a little more emotional in the sense that you have an alcoholic and a workaholic trying to get past their addictions. I truly appreciate that the author didn't just miraculously cure Tyson's alcoholism, he had setbacks. Alex is great for Tyson and really helps him recover and Tyson helps Alex realize that he has an addiction of his own, work. These two men broken men are a great help and support to one another to help each one move on from their addiction and have a full and complete life full of love. The narrator did an excellent job with these characters and the story. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

A great story with likeable characters in realistic situations with struggles, dreams, laughs, hope, and taking chances. Tyson and Alex have their own issues to deal with but find that getting help, giving help, and letting others in, makes life better and easier. They find passion, understanding, and love will carry them to a satisfying HEA.

I really enjoyed this quick read about two men with problems that are holding them back and may harm their lives and careers. Tyson has issues with alcohol and being himself as a gay man, while Alex is hiding his pain and grief by burying himself in his work. Something's gotta give. I loved the way the two men connected and helped each other address and fight their ghosts.
I received an ARC. This is my honest, voluntary review.
Such a boring reading. I can't believe it is rated 4.2! This story doesn't make any sense, it's confusing and just weak! There's no chemistry between the characters. I couldn't even identify why and when they fell in love with each other. Nothing special happened to lead them to love. The conflict between them... I just don't get it. Oh Dean is a total different person in the first chapter and then he changed completely. How? When? Why? A waste of time and I am upset.
I did enjoy that there wasnt much love drama, even if it was some drama.Tyson struggle with alcohol and he wasnt out, a big part of the story is about him struggling with beeing sobre and comming out, Alex realise that he need to step down on his work. Alex did support and didnt give up on Tyson and their relationship. They where cute together.
This was good story about two men who have addictions that they are struggling to conquer. One works too much and one keeps falling off the wagon with alcohol. Lots of drama and soul searching . It was a good story that was interesting to read

Alex is a workaholic and Tyson is a recovering alcoholic who keeps falling off the wagon. Can they help each other and also find love together? I loved it. I've enjoyed this whole series so far. I can't wait for the next book.

the book is great. JP has done a great job with the characters and setting such a realistic tone and plot. The writing and sexual situations are very intense.

Great storyline. Loved the setting and both Tyson and Jamie. They both has sadness and sorrow in their pasts. Can they turn to each other to heal and find happiness?
